[Battery] Mugen 1500mAh - Galaxy Y GT-S5360 Accessories

Good for us, the users of less mainstream phones.
Mugen recently released a 1500mAh [HLI-S5360SL] extended battery for Samsung Galaxy Y
Pictures are not yet available but tech specs indicate 25% encrease in performance. I bet it will give the phone extra 2 hours.

Hmm..its a bit high on the price tag but +300 mAh could be great! Thanks for sharing

it costs almost 1,6k if converted to filipino peso

wow. $ 39 US Dollars for a batt ?
I paid $10 bucks for two standard batts + external charger with USB outlet.
what would be in need was a really huge batt with 6 times the capacity and an extra back cover for the phone. cost should be $20 max.

buying a spare battery would be more practical... double the capacity for 1/3 the price of the mugen...

Me definitely! $50 seems like an awful lot to spend for an extra 200mAh though
I would but no money right now. Hey anything would be better off then the OEM 1300mAh =)
stock is 1400mha.
something tells me the stock battery have a higher capacity than those crooks using inferior cells while inflating the numbers.

You are most definitely right I bought one if those for my G1 and it crapped out within a year. Your best bet is to take your chances with the cheap batteries on ebay. You can get ten of them for what one from Seidio charges you. No knock on Seidio.

dunno where i saw it (somewhere here on xda prolly N1 forum) but some guys put every aftermarket battery for MANY phones up against HTC's stock batteries the astounding results:
NO aftermarket battery from ANY mfg. has EVER beaten HTC's stock battery...
(this is referring to batteries that fit in stock battery enclosure)
I agree after market battery might show higher numbers but not as good as the stocks ones

me 3 right under a year mine crapped out and it never seemed much better than my 2 year old htc it replaced.
I'm surprised, I've had good results with extended batteries. The one I got for my G1 did considerably better than stock. (8-9 hours versus 6 with OEM battery.)
I bought 2 1500mAh batteries with charger from ebay for less then $15 shipped. They last less then stock battery does (I kill stock battery in about 14 hours, the ones from ebay last me about 10-12 hours) but I always have charged spare battery now. Great investment IMHO, no way I would pay $50 for 1 battery, not even original HTC.
Hey Zoltair, What brand was the one you got that was better than stock???
Well I should hope that an extended battery would give you longer life then a stock...seeing as how its suppose to. I don't think that the problem is whether or not extended batteris last longer, because I would think if you bought an extended battery and it didint last longer then a smaller, stock battery..you would then return it...I think what people have problems with is getting what they pay for, price per mA and how much mA there really is...if your paying 50 dollars for a battery rated at 1400ma, your probably going to want all the mA you payed for...for example: (PURELY FOR SPECULATION, NOT REAL NNUMBERS) say you have a stock 500ma battery and you get like 4 hours out of it or whatever, and then you purchase an extended battery for 50bucks and its "rated" at 1000ma, yet you only get 6-7 hours out of it...? Then it would seem that it isn't truly rated at which they say it is... Then you get into how much certain companies value their own integrity, and how much they are going to inflate their own battery ratings to simply sell the product. Examples of this can be found on batteryboss.org ...This website obtains batteries and tests them, and you can see clearly, some companies inflate their ratings more than others... If you look at what the battery was rated at, and what exactly it tested at...they even break down price per mA...so if you paid 2dollars per mA for a 1500 rated battery and it tested at 1300..how much money are you losing? Purchasing an extended battery should be looked at like all consumer purchases, weight the pros and cons... and read reviews on companies, you can also seek alternatives such as previous post in this thread of having spare OEM batteries that cost 1/10th of an extended battery, yet they immediately doulbe your battery length..

No word yet on performance on this? Anybody get it? I don't want to go first, lol!
Well $49.99 for 1600mAh is high as hell and top of that from unknown source, might well as wait for Mugen power stock size. I hope whoever has this post data on it so we can see if its any good.
Got one of these for my N1. Definitely NOT worth the money. Don't notice any difference from the OEM.

Any stock sized exteded batteries?

Are there any battery that can get me a little extra juice (~1800MAh) that stick inside the stock cover?
I saw one on eBay that works with the captivate stock but it's only 1600MAh.....unless I find a bigger one, I plan on purchasing it in the near future...

I900? It states I9000 galaxy S so I'm assuming its safe and reliable to use with the captivate
ebay has 2x 1500mah batteries plus charging dock for 10 bucks, free chipping. that's what i'm gonna get. i know they're not going to give me more time per battery, but for 10 dollars, i can afford to treat them like semi-disposable batteries, only i can recharge them and have a couple on standby if i need them.
all those expensive $80 (FAT ONES) mugen batteries are a waste of money imho. the 1600 mah are an ever worse ripoff.
you're paying a premium for the privilege of being spared the horror and anguish of schlepping an extra battery around.
THANKFULLY, our batteries are pretty small and thin, so it's really not such a terrible thing.
anyone use the "EXTENDED" batteries before? how much extra life do you get? NOT VERY MUCH.
if i use my phone "normally" with a 1500 mah battery, it lasts the whole day, or around 15 hours for me.
if i use my phone "normally" with a 1600 mah battery, how much longer battery life will i get?
mah = milliamp/hour = milliamp per hour
1500 ma/15 h = 1600 ma/ X h
plug and chug, cross multiply, whatever, SOLVE FOR X hours.....15.999 hours.
WOW! 1600 mah batteries give you just ONE (1) extra hour of battery life.
the cheapest you can find a 1600 mah battery on ebay is $37.99. you can buy THREE (3) 1500mah batteries for $11.99 and free shipping.
i think it's quite simple to see that the "extended batteries" are just not that great an option.
i quite enjoy math. nergasm ;P
note: i know the longer we use a battery and the more times we charge it, it's maximum capacity gets smaller and smaller over time. i decided for the purposes of my post, this battery "age" factor was negligible.

What about 1800mah for $10 see my previous link....worth it? Think so
By your math that would be 3 extra hours for same price as 1500mah
ah, not exactly. i can't post links yet.. but there's a seller on ebay who sells THREE (3X) 1500 mah batteries for $11.99 free shipping. even includes the battery dock so you can charge an extra battery on the side while using/charging your phone's battery.
get the 3x 1500 mah. you just get more! plus if you get three batteries, you can leave them places, like one in the car, one at work, one at home, etc
i think it comes down to user preference. if that extra three hours is just what you need to get you through that last leg of your commute to home + the charger, then sure, go for it.
me personally, i was looking for a case on ebay and stumbled on that 3x battery deal. i wasn't originally looking for an extended battery
Id rather get the extended battery than buying 3 1500 batteries. The risk of breaking my phone changing batteries is high. I just bought innocase rugged. It is a hassle putting it in and out of the case. I already bought the one from ebay. 2batteries+dock charger. I don’t use it anymore because im scared to break my phone with those cheap bat. I can use the oem which has better battrery life imo so why take the risk. But the charger is nice to have.
Im not also into buying mugen expensive 1600. I might buy the 1800 for 10 if its been proven it gives more battery life compare to 1500.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
valid point. you never know what can happen with those non-oem parts. personally i like the idea of always having a spare battery at the ready. having THREE spares is probably overkill though
be sure and let us know how much more life you get with whichever extended battery you get, it would be fun to see the margin of error between real-world battery life and theoretical

Anker 1900mAh battery?

Hey guys browseing Amazon or GS2 accessories and I came across the Anker 1900mAh battery.
Now ive had the Anker 1900 on the Sensation and its legit a beast of a battery with extra juice, anyone used this for the GS2?
why not just wait a few weeks and buy the proper 2000mah battery??
iam sure samsung would have made a battery this size if possible rather then build extra back covers due to the 2000mah battery they have designed
basically i dont think anker could squeeze another 300mah into the battery at no extra size , its probably not what it says it is and i would go the official route , i have found all these cheap batterys to be useless in my times of owning mobile phones
to sum it up just buy the offical 2000mah battery from samsung or the bigger one from mugen if you want better battery life
look for anker 2300maH on ebay for $12-14 . buy it and make a review
tempted!
im very tempted. amazon uk has an offer for 2 and dockcharger and travel charger for £13. Even if its 80% of original battery i would be happy. But seems like a new release..not 1 review...
I would get the official samsung one but i have the perfect a leather, carbon fibre cases. would it fit in there? i don;t know...will i find an equivalent case that fits it...i don't no. If only if they had a demo version with new battery in a highstreet store i could try putting my case on,
ohh this make has had some reviews from same phone and different phones
im not advertising lol, just discussing reviews

Even though it is well under the stated rating there is nothing that touches it for value. USD $10 for a 2413 mAh battery is a fantastic deal.

It is more expensive than Anker battery but it gives more juice (20-25% more than stock) and many people say that the phone feels better in hand with some extra weight and thickness.
I also say go for the 2000mah by Samsung. There's a significant improvement in battery life. The larger battery also doesn't get as hot. and the phone's back is now flat.

Seriously, don't fall for that super mega over xxxmAh class A or whatever made from wherever. I'm having a great experience with the Samsung one, gives me additional 3 hours (at least) with heavy usage. I'm quoting one website that describes it "the S2 that should have been" which is true enough, at least from my experience.
I promise you, you won't regret adding some more off your pocket to get one... heck I even ordered it online and shipped it from abroad!
I am ordering it from abroad as well..

Spent 3 days getting drunk on a scottish beach and still had battery , you can charge a battery and the phone at the same time and the batteries are small so carrying a spare is no big deal in my opinion. That way you're looking at 2 additional days charge.

Nexus 5 3800 mAh batteries legit?

Are those Nexus 5 batteries at AliExpress with a capacity of 3800mAh legit? They even claim it's the same size as the original batteries.
No, this is fake... Maybe the real capacity will have a 1500mAh... Search original or replacement of good quality, for example. PolarCell: http://www.polarcell.de/english.html
I second that (what bykumza writes), if the manufacturer (LG) could have fitted a real 3800 mAh battery they would have done that. Often the more modest capacity values are more accurate. I can confirm that PolarCell are very good, well worth the money. The Chinese cheapies often dissapoint.

Actually Nexus 5 and G2 are released almost same date. Nexus 5 has 2300 mah battery and G2 has 3000 mah. I bought G2 battery and put it in my Nexus 5. It fits but it needs ~1 mm space which is not a problem for LG to do it! But they did not! That company did not put 3000 mah battery in nexus 5 which could have been the bestseller because of price/performance and put 2300 mah in it so they could sell their ****ing G2s with great battery life. So no they would not have done it even if they could. Today companies do not do so much things that they can, we just can't even imagine. Intel, Nvidia, Qualcomm, Samsung , apple and other mobile companies are good example. Why on earth can't mobile companies like apple put bigger batteries in it's super high price phones? Juts why? Samsung managed to put 3600 mah battery in 5.5 inch phone which is smaller then iphone 6s plus or 7 plus which has ~2900 mah and takes 3 and a half ****ing hours to charge it!!!!
Would you recommend to get a replacement battery from PolarCell instead of getting OEM original one?

Thanks
Fitting G2 battery requires some hardware modification, which I frankly don't feel like doing.
I just wonder which battery is better, a PolarCell one (someone recommend in previous post) or OEM one.
Polarcell is reportedly one of the best alternatives and has a slightly higher capacity than the original cost can say that comes out more or less the same as the original.
Here, unfortunately, you have to answer on your own if you want to take a chance and buy a replacement if you prefer a standard solution.
