So after using about 3 GB kernels (Nubecoder, mkasick, IAP) for the past few days, I've noticed that my CPU Spy app has not detected any deep sleep frequencies whatsoever. Is this normal? Because from what I can remember, past Froyo kernels I've run have always used deep sleep frequencies when left idle.

From what I've read, we don't literally use deep sleep, but I believe it can be done by a kernel dev taking source from a modified nexus kernel. To my knowledge, our epics aren't really ever entering deep sleep (unless you count shutting off your phone as deep sleep, lol) just a hibernation-ish sleep? Like a pre-quel to deep sleep, but no 'true' deep sleep with the kernels we have at the moment. I sure do wish a kernel dev looked into it though. The battery savings would be insane that it even makes ME want to cook the code into the kernel if I had the proper experience.

No that is not normal. If you have the phone off charge, screen off and not using it for about 15 minutes, some deep sleep should be seen in CPUSpy. It does not sleep while on charge. If you cannot obtain deep sleep according to CPUSpy you should Odin back to stock and move forward from there or get better battery stats and try to find out what is keeping your phone awake. Perhaps a bad sync or chat app like gtalk, google + or something like that.
My HOX does not enter deep sleep at all on wifi (according Cpu Spy). Resulting: battery drain 15-20% /h idle.
Did a factory restore, but to no avail. The problem is still there. If I dissable wifi, phone enters deep sleep in 2-3 minutes.
Some others who have experienced similar? solutions?
ohh .. Phone is running OTA JB.
Run this app and let the phone sit for some time.
Then check results and you'll find out what is preventing deep sleep.
Heys guys I have a strange battery Problem
I am using CM7.2 Democracy and phiex kernel. I love the Rom but there is just one problem with my battery. When I charge my battery(with phone ON) after it goes to 100% I switched OFF the phone and the Green battery that comes when the phone is OFF shows that battery is about 80% and the battery is still charging. I couldn't charge my phone to REAL 100% with my phone Running . Also when my phone shuts down due to Low battery I connect the charger, while the phone is OFF, and the green battery shows that it still has about 30% of battery while my phone turned OFF Due to Low Battery.
What is the problem
Any solution??
Try to calibrate your battery..
I was at the same problem before and it works like a charm after calibrated
Hope this fix your prob.

I dont think U have to install anything to have deep sleep feature. I think its a feature of android OS that is already enabled!!

deep sleep feature is included in android os but its disabled by default.so you need to activate with no-frills cpu control app and it should be activated.

its standard in android, not a feature of no frills.

I'm just a noob here at xda, but sorry I don't think so. Deep sleep on Android works with or without No Frills. The only thing you can do with No Frills is to enable the deep sleep stats (in No Frills cpu stats) that are usually hidden...
@ abdullahaftab: if your deep sleep doesn't work you have something installed or working that don't make it works. Maybe is your rom, maybe it's just an app

I calibrated My battery according to the instructions but even then when my ROM says that battery is 100% charged, I turned off the phone and the green battery still requires another 30 minutes of charge until it says 100%. Why my ROM does not charge my battery to 100%??? =(
And for the deep sleep I deleted few apps that were in no use and after that deep sleep was working.
Any Solution to the above problem??
thats the calibration part.
after a long time the % given when the phone is on does not exactly much the real %.
but, this does not give a shorter battery life, as it will also hang on other values of %. just charge long enough and it will be full.

You should calibrate your battery. There are a lot of tutorials on youtube.

Ok It looks like I would have to carry on charging with my phone OFF to get 100% charging !!.
Another Question: I put my Brightness to only 25% but still when I see battery use Stats, Display is taking 70% of my battery . Why is that so??????????
Someone help me! I'm facing a deep sleep issue. I have been monitoring for days and this is the result (attachment). I enabled Intel Deep Sleep before. I'm not talking about the SoT because it depends on my daily usage. But my deep sleep seems....bad. The weird thing is: CPU Spy shows deep sleep at 54% (see attachment).
My info: Z008 4.21.40.122, Boretsx kernel, Govenor interactive_pro. Ondemand seems the same.
I disabled all in Autostart manager, except Superuser, Greenify and Amplify.
The battery seems to drain faster while screen on in the time period when the deep sleep issue happens. In the time period when deep sleep issue doesn't happen, the battery drains more slowly
this is a very common issue. some people do not factory rest device after updating firmware. factory reset your device. you will definitely get the issue resolved. if that do not helps, the other thing u can try is you can let the battery drain completely. then charge it for 5 to 8 hours without turning on mobile

If you like Stock Firmware, just flash RussianBear + Greenify + Amplify..
6-7 SOT + ~24-30h iddle.
Epic battery!
