Strange Battery Problem :( - Samsung Galaxy Gio GT-S5660

Heys guys I have a strange battery Problem
I am using CM7.2 Democracy and phiex kernel. I love the Rom but there is just one problem with my battery. When I charge my battery(with phone ON) after it goes to 100% I switched OFF the phone and the Green battery that comes when the phone is OFF shows that battery is about 80% and the battery is still charging. I couldn't charge my phone to REAL 100% with my phone Running . Also when my phone shuts down due to Low battery I connect the charger, while the phone is OFF, and the green battery shows that it still has about 30% of battery while my phone turned OFF Due to Low Battery.
What is the problem
Any solution??

Try to calibrate your battery..
I was at the same problem before and it works like a charm after calibrated
Hope this fix your prob.

I dont think U have to install anything to have deep sleep feature. I think its a feature of android OS that is already enabled!!

deep sleep feature is included in android os but its disabled by default.so you need to activate with no-frills cpu control app and it should be activated.

I'm just a noob here at xda, but sorry I don't think so. Deep sleep on Android works with or without No Frills. The only thing you can do with No Frills is to enable the deep sleep stats (in No Frills cpu stats) that are usually hidden...
@ abdullahaftab: if your deep sleep doesn't work you have something installed or working that don't make it works. Maybe is your rom, maybe it's just an app

I calibrated My battery according to the instructions but even then when my ROM says that battery is 100% charged, I turned off the phone and the green battery still requires another 30 minutes of charge until it says 100%. Why my ROM does not charge my battery to 100%??? =(
And for the deep sleep I deleted few apps that were in no use and after that deep sleep was working.
Any Solution to the above problem??

thats the calibration part.
after a long time the % given when the phone is on does not exactly much the real %.
but, this does not give a shorter battery life, as it will also hang on other values of %. just charge long enough and it will be full.

Ok It looks like I would have to carry on charging with my phone OFF to get 100% charging !!.
Another Question: I put my Brightness to only 25% but still when I see battery use Stats, Display is taking 70% of my battery . Why is that so??????????

[Q] Battery Drain

Hi all,
i'm new with DHD, i flashed Revolution rom and i have high battery drain.
I charged my phone untill current was 0 mA, deleted the battery info and reboot.
So i turned on only data connection and leaved about 8 hours sleeping.. from 10pm to 10am all sync are off.. the result is: -25%!!!
I'm trying to find the batterykillerapp but i can't do it!
If i type the code *#*#4636#*#* i can see only battery info, no battery history, if i try using Spare Parts the app crash
how can i find the app that sucks my battery life?

Go back to the thread and look for the radio recommended for the rom. I'm pretty sure these radios are the main reason for battery drain
OR
What do you mean by battery drain? if it goes down fast when you're using your phone. That's not battery drain at all.
You can also go to OC daemon and set governor to ondemand so that the CPU doesn't stay on higher clocks.
i mean that battery goes down fast when i'm not using the phone! -25% in a night
sleep governor is on conservative and wake governor ondemand

Hi, is it possible to wipe batery stats without having root or custom roms installed? My battery drains very fast.
@niyesuh
When you enter Recovery , your screen will be black ,that means you don't have a custom recovery installed . You need to have Root & RomManager whit Clockwork Recovery installed in order to wipe battery stats .

I'm using the phone from 15 h 24m and i'm at 52%
I think there is still something to fix because in 8 of this 15 h the phone was in sleeping mode and the battery gone down around of 15%
From battery info in the setting menu i can see: Display (40%); System (15%); Standby (13%); Dialer (13%); Idle (12%); Voice Call (5%); Whatsapp (2%).
Any suggestion?

These peaks that you speak of can be the radio unit trying to find good reception. Try turning the data, LTE 3G and edge, off and see if it drains slower! But I don't see anything wierd with your battery usage or battery

Remember the thanks button
Well lithium batteries fell best if the are fully recharged once or twice a month and then charging just whenever you feel like it really! like from 30 to 76 percent. They do not need so much looking after.

I need a good battery saver app.

Anyone know of a good battery saver app that actually work? Right now I'm using juice defender ultimate and it is OK and I'm sure most of the problem is the rom I'm using (simonsimons34's cm9 for marvelc, great rom) I just charged my phone to 86% and 15 minutes later its at 61%. Any advice or tips are greatly appreciated, thank you.

Is deep sleep working on that ROM cause that's an awful lot of battery usage... Or were you doing something battery-expensive at the time?
I personally don't believe in battery saving apps. All they do is manage your phone's hardware (wifi,Bluetooth etc.) They are always running in the background so they use even more battery. Apps like BetterBatteryStats help you track your battery usage so you see what's using your battery the most and cut down it's usage

I agree, it's much better to do it yourself via a notification drawer power widget.
Make sure bluetooth and wifi isn't left on all day, turn off gps (gps is still on, albeit in a power saving mode, even if the icon isn't showing) when you aren't using it. Lower your screen brightness. Turn off sync and data if they're not needed, and go into aeroplane mode if you don't have any signal (because your phone will drain the battery desperately trying to find a network tower).
I don't think deep sleep is being used on this rom, and its still in beta so Bluetooth and wifi aren't working right now. I have easy task killer to stop running un needed apps and juice defender helps a little. I have had battery issues before but I seriously want to just throw it sometimes, I feel like I am always at the charger with my phone. But thank you guys for the help.

A task killer will only drain battery, trust me. Leaving these apps in RAM won't use up any more battery, but having them relaunch after you kill them will.
If deep sleep isn't working, you would benefit from setting a lower minimum CPU clock. You might suffer a slight performance loss when you unlock. Or otherwise, you can try setting different CPU settings for on and off state. I believe setCPU allows this but you'll need to check.
Helped me slightly with modpunks alpha 0 which didn't have deep sleep.
Without deep sleep, I'm afraid most of the other battery saving methods won't work much...
Sent from my Wildfire S A510e using XDA
I dont think that setcpu will help completely, the mentioned drain of battery is a huge amount..and yes the best battery saver is yourself ..maybe your time time change the battery has come up?
I had the same issue a little while ago. when I checked in the battery section of the menu I found that "media server" was running ALOT. often it was using more battery than the screen. after reading a few posts and downloading watchdog lite to see when the process was running, I heard that it could be that the SD card needed formatting (and partitioning as I use INT2EXT). So I formatted my SD, made a new partition reflashed the ROM, gapps and script and BINGO. no more "media server", no more problem.
don't know if this helps but thought id mention it, it was driving me mad.

(unrooted)100-79% in 2.5hrs standby battery drain :(

as the screenshots say, the battery drain is weird, can anyone tell me why this happened ..
multi picture live wallpaper is on, could it be that ?
sync is off, google now is off
Maybe your phone isn't deep sleeping because of wakelocks, it could be your wifi, but that shouldn't really be a problem, especially on standby for only 2.5 hours. If you wanna make sure your phone enters deep sleep mode, download the "CPU spy" app on the market.
Edit: oh i see your unrooted, i dunno if that app works on unrooted phones, but the off your live wallpaper and see if that helps.

I use the rom aokp milestone m1-r1 with kernel 4.0 fusion and also notice this problem. if I use the 3g, the battery dies quickly. I am always on 2g with data off and only use when needed. wifi does not occur with this problem.

Another battery will not help.
Another kernel will not help.
Wiping battery stats does nothing, all stories about "improving battery life" are complete bull**** - it has nothing to do with battery!!
All ICS and ICS-Based ROMs, yes that also means all Jelly Bean ROMs,that are based on ICS, have that ICS bug, which causes battery drain after every charge. You need to restart your phone in order to fix it. Restart after charging and no more massive drain should occur.
If it does, it must be something in your personal settings.

I'm experiencing quite the same problem on my Arc (LT15i) although I don't think it occurs after every charge, and I'm not even sure it does only appear when I charged the phone.
I remarked that the radio is going a bit buggy (switching from Wi-Fi to 2G/3G or constantly reconnecting to the mobile network) and when this appears, I have to reboot the phone or the battery dies in 6 to 8 hours (when the problem don't occurs, it can go on for 36-48h).
Anyone has noticed the same thing or am I experiencing another battery drain problem ?
Not trying to hijack or anything, but as my problem relates to yours, I thought I'll write to this thread.
My LT18i battery drains around 10-20%/hour even when put to airplane mode and rebooting before. I just tested last night and charged the battery full, left the phone to airplane mode and at the morning after 7 hours there was 20% left!!! I even checked from betterbatterystats and the phone had been on deep sleep almost all the time.
Have had this problem for a while, but havent found any solution to it, if anyone can help, PLEASE do!

There is an app or something, that is using lots of battery. Check sync settings (some apps have it in app settings), turn off WiFi/3G/Bluetooth/GPS, make sure app is working.
And do not use taskkillers.
And if you can, post a screenshot of Battery Usage screen, with the list of apps consuming battery.
I flashed Stock ICS .587 on my arc last night and charged it 'till today in morning so i took my arc restarted it and 'till now worked just fine,my battery is almost dead but i used my phone today at max.I did some callings, played Asphalt 7,used wifi and internet, dolphin browser, installed some basic apps from market, done a cwm bacup, installed some cam mods cyber-shot,tested the camera.but hey even the battery is dieing now it's cool.I had fun with it for today,i hope this battery will last always ss today.
Apps kills the battery,so i deleted FB,i frezzed some apps that i don't use everyday, and i have my brightness on 50%.
I know i didn't help to much but i'm sharing my expirence.
And yeah sry for my english.

Pretty sure, theres no apps running and I have everything turned off, I even took the sim card off for testing purposes.
Betterbatterystats shows 98% deep sleep at my tes period of one night.
Now it gets even weirder...A friend of mine suggested that I try to turn the phone fully off (power totally off).
I charged the battery to 100% last night and pulled the battery, putted it back on and let the phone sit on the table untouched for the night. When I turned it on on the morning battery showed 4% left!!!
So theres a huge drain even when the phones power is turned fully off. I dont know does this indicate a broken battery (battery 2 months old) or something wrong with the hardware ???
Turn phone off. Charge to 100% when 2-5% left
After fullcharge, use ur phone. When it drops to 50% exactly shut it down. Remove battery for a minute. Reinsert battery and dont turn it on.
Charge it again to 100%
Done

I'v been using it for about a week. Continuously waking up the phone for sensing and checking apps and options was draining more battery than actual saving it. I wouldn't reccommend it at all.
Classic solutions like Greenify + Wakelock Detector work way better IMO.
I am yet unsure to how much does this improve the battery life, I've been using it for a month and giving it time to check. Although my device doesn't come out of deep sleep with it running, I kinda feel the battery drains a bit faster. Can't say that for sure but thats what I am feeling.
I will keep it up-to-date with you. Just did a full charge on airplane mode and I will be monitoring everything.

Even I got massive battery drain. I wasn't using my phone at all. And in half an hour it reduced from 91-86 percent. Data/Wifi/Sync and everything off. Wake lock detector shows Battery guru woke the CPU most number of times.
I've tried this earlier and uninstalled it. I'm giving it another try. Its in learning process now. Let me see how it goes after two days.
So when you change your habits it will drain battery again; why bother?

I actually dropped it a long time ago, the only thing worth trying to improve the battery is Greenify - forget about the rest.

You can also try DS Battery Saver, it also control my wi-fi, puts my phone in deep sleep mode that's mean no more background process and above all it doesn't require root..... And if you are rooted try one power guard, it's best battery saver....
