Hello, have been using the Revolution rom since I got my DHD but have been having major issues sending MMS messages. I just get a generic Service Failure error message after multiple attempts at sending. Even when trying to send myself an MMS message.
I'm on T-Mobile UK / Orange
I have made sure that:
WIFI is off
GSM only
I am connected to T-Mobile rather than T-Mobile Orange
APN settings are correct
Still unable to send MMS messages, when I recieve them I get them sent to the web interface most Providers use. I have got picture messaging enabled on my T-Mobile phone plan.
Any ideas / help you guys can provide?
I am flashed to the latest Radio for Revolution and just flashed to the 3.6 rom aswell but still have the same issue.
Try GO SMS PRO (FREE) from the market. If it works ok, probably a problem with the stock app.

When you say you have just GSM avtive, does that mean you dont have an active data connection at all, if so that could be your problem when you need data connection to be able to send and recieve MMS
It should revert to edge or gprs.

Easiest way is to test the sim card on another phone or try another sim card on the phone
Hi everyone,
I just rooted my phone using mrRobinsons No-Counter-Tipping method (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1771687). I still can't seem to DELETE the stock T-Mobile APN, and I need to delete to get on SIMPLE MOBILE's data network.
Please help me if you know how to do this. Thanks.
I may be wrong, but I don't think you would need to delete it. I believe that you would have the option to select T- Mobile or Simple Mobile. Check the Simple Mobile box and you should be good to go. Hopefully this helps you. I'm not 100% sure since I've never had to switch carriers or APN's.

On(in) the apn screen, hit menu, add apn, fill in the blanks (I don't use Simple Mobile so I do not know the correct settings) and then save (or, menu> save) and when back at the apn screen tap the radio button next to Simple Mobile.

Thanks for the reply everyone, but on my HD2 I did add the SIMPLE Mobile APN WITHOUT deleting the T-mobile one, and it didn't connect to the 3g/4g network. Once I deleted the T-Mobile APN (as the instructions say to do per Simple Mobiles website) it worked fine.
Now that I'm using my S3, I tried just adding Simple Mobile, and that Does NOT work. I recently found an app that allowed me to change/delete the T-Mobile APN (APN Manager), but maybe that didn't complete delete it, otherwise something else isn't working correctly.
Is there anybody that is using SIMPLE Mobile on their Galaxy S3 (T999)????????

I just did it this morning. Added the new APN then selected the radio button (to the right of the name of the APN in the list). I was getting an average of 15 Mbps down.
My phone is unlocked, but it's never been a problem with any Android phone I've used.

Your phone is SIM Unlocked? Is it Rooted? I'm just trying to get my setting working, and stock (out of the box), the settings for SIMPLE Mobile didn't work (I restarted and everything just as the instructions say). The T-Mobile APN was still there.
Please let me know exactly what you did so that I can try and make it work for me. Thanks.
EDIT: One other thing. I have the $40 SIMPLE Mobile Plan (which was working fine on my HD2) with unlimited 3g data. What plan do you have? Do you think that would affect it?
im pretty sure u need to go to mobile networks/network operators/default setup and choose manual before attemtping to do your add apn.

I think this may have done the trick. I also think the connection is acting differently since I'm on this phone (with this stock ROM) compared to my HD2 (with CM9 ROM created by Tytung). So deleting the APN made it find the SIMPLE Mobile network, where manually setting this one made it so I didn't need to delete the APN.
Thanks.
Closely related issue - Please Help!
Your issue is closely related to something I'm trying to do, but unsuccessfully. I also have a T-Mobile andriod phone (galaxy) and I've recently switched to Net10 Wireless. The service is excellent and everything works great on the data side. However, I can't delete the T-Mobile APN and it keeps switching back to it randomly even though I've selected the radio box next to Net10's APN. It will work for period of time and then stop and I'll go back in to the APN settings, and sure enough, it has switched back to T-Mobile. It doesn't give me an option to delete this APN, only the one I added.
Any thoughts anyone?
Thank you!
Amber

I have a pantech pocket that I just got and I am using it on my new unlock straight talk plan...I am very technology challenged when it comes to this stuff. The pamplet that came with my new micro sim card for straight talk said that I need to change the APN settings and it lists what I need to put in it's place. However, whenever I go into "mobile networks" and try to change my APN settings, I can't. They are shaded and when I touch them they don't react at all. I can't change them at all! So, how would I go about choosing manual in the default setup? I am sorry...I just don't know where I would even find any of that at. Super confused

I don't know if anyone will ever read this, but simple trick:
You're right in that when you just add a Custom APN and select it (on any phone I've had), it won't remember your selection. It'll either keep selecting the Default APN, or neither.
What's always worked for me, is to create a 2nd one and name it "DONT USE" or "Dummy APN" and "Save" it (Menu).
Then create a 3rd one and set that one up the way you want/need and Save it, then select it.
Let the phone run for a minute and make sure your Mobile Data works (go to Google.com). Then Reboot and wait until it finishes booting up (2-3 minutes from when you see the Home Screen) and then go check it and your Custom APN should be selected.
Your Carrier may have instructed you to Delete the original one, but it can't be done from the phone's APN screen anyway. They never bothered trying it, trust me.

I installed the Blue Ku Kan ROM on Galaxy S2 on Virgin Mobile network. Everything works fine but I cannot get MMS to work however. I read from another thread to change this in the data setting but i could not find it. I went to setting ->mobile network -> but could not find APN. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I downloaded SMS Go and there is this little setting in there for MMS but still couldn't get it to work. What am I doing wrong?
I used these values:
mmsc= mmsc.vmobl.co m:8088/mms?
mms proxy = 205.239.233.136
mms port = 81

I wish I knew what it would take to make it work because I would love to stick with this rom. Nice work, man, and congrats on the recent kudos you received.
You need to change your mms URL to this <<<mmsc.vmobl.c om:8088/mms?>>> In the data menu

Do you in fact have a space between the o and m? Or was that a typo here?
Also, you need to prefix mmsc with http://
So it should be http://mmsc.vmobl.com:8088/mms?

Download APN Backup/Restore. i have the same phone with the same problem. Once you have downloaded the app, open it. there is a button that says delete APN's. hit it. now you can access and create a new APN. the problem is that the origanal APN's are so out of date, it causes the program to crash.
##DATA# ISSUE:
I have a Sprint Samsung Galaxy S3 on metropcs with talk, text, mms and data working just fine. The issue is that the ##DATA# won't stick.
I do the "Data Programming" into the "Data Profile" part, fill out the whole part, exit, restart and then just go back into ##DATA#, "View" data profile and everything's either blank or <not set>.
I'm using @dazednconfused Wicked Sensations 5.0 ROM, Sprint Samsung Galaxy S3 on MetroPCS.
ANYONE KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS??
Almost 100 people have looked at my thread and not one person has posted a solution.. I know someone somewhere knows a fix for this. $10 donation for a working solution to the first member that comes up with one.
