Are there any mods or apps that improves the videos quality? - HTC One X

Because when i record whit the standard camera it seems to be very laggy (24 fps). Is there any mod/app that increase the bitrate?
Thanks and im sorry for.my bad English

I've had the same thing, but its not laggy at all when the video comes out, so its not really an issue.
I assume its to keep the quality of the recording up, so the preview is a low priority.

Video recording - fps

Hi
Had a search and couldn't find an answer so here I go.
I believe that the desire records at 15 fps which leads to choppy recordings vs my iPhone 3gs. I was wondering, is there a hack to increase the fps beyond what it currently sits at?
Thanks

Yes, Froyo. Should add 720p recording at min 20 FPS.
Does the eventual update also add better sound quality to video recordings?
I say AMR 8000khz codec is worse then my now defunct N73....

+1 I'd rather see a steady 30fps + great audio quality 480p video, than crappy 720p.
Is there a hack to get 30 fps now?!

No. 10charbla
I really don't see why HTC chose to only encode audio with the AMR-codec at such low quality... Is the microphone of such poor quality that they "hide" it using this codec?
Anyone tried recording sound using some another software?

Try the built in Voice Recorder?
It's the same crappy quality...

Then using "other software" will only serve to mask it, if anything.

Most likely, almost make me wonder why not to let go S.Jobs dictatorship when i look this video what is claimed to be shooted in iphone4 (sorry my swearing) http://cl.ly/1P50. Almost.
What would your guys recommend for playing .avi videos on the Desire? There are so many to choose from. Act 1 is good? It's not free

The beta RockPlayer is the best AVI player we currently have. However, which AVI it plays depends on that vids properties (like format).
Check the themes and apps section under titles like 'DivX/XviD player'.
Act 1 is excellent for many other vids, like H.264.

I can't link or search threads through the phone app but this has been discussed extensively before. You can record much higher quality audio using other apps. Mainly those saving in MP3, PCM, MP4 and WAV. I'm not sure how they do it though.
For simple, quick, voice recording I use Virtual Recorder the most.

i absolutely agree with you....i want a super smooth recording and playback at the 480p size and not more...if the quality of this is good then you can upscale it with conversion...but if it's crappy high resolution then even if you downgrade it it won't be very smooth
You can already see what the unofficial, hacked HD recording is like, i.e. http://db.tt/0Ngrnd

As has been discussed a few times priorly, the current vid recording FPS have been observed to fluctuate between ~3-28 based on the ambient light levels, level of motion in the footage and the speed of the cam movement. The current recording can be much improved over but these factors contribute to some hard fundamental limitations.

Lock 720p framerate?

Hi
I'm quite impressed with the 720p video recording on my Desire. But unfortunately the framerate sometimes drop drastically, which causes some annoying lag.
Is there a way to lock the framerate at 30 FPS?
Thanks in advance.

Lol...won't be possible that's why iphone4 kinda overdo android devices. In android it depends on sdcard... running applications.. duno what else.. lighting maybe. Check the other topic I started.

I was under the impression that it was more to do with the sensor itself? That's why many people get better FPS in bright light than in dark light (particularly when outside).
Lol, but some one have to tweak for better camcorder.
sameone has already playng around with 720p,Cyanogen
& have solution , 27fps, & this hack workin in our Cyanogen mod- Nighty

Video Recording quality issues

I usually record videos using my Galaxy Nexus in 720p mode, because 1080p takes up a huge space and my internet is too slow for it..
When I play back the videos that I recorded, it looks so beautiful on the galaxy nexus. But when its on youtube (directly uploaded from the phone), my god! The quality is crap!
Here is the video
http://youtu.be/588xh372ZvU?hd=1 (Uploaded Directly from the YouTube app via WiFi)
http://youtu.be/RbgYReOEoO4?hd=1 (Uploaded from a computer to YouTube.com)
I have done absolutely NO edits or compressions on these videos, and they still looks pixelated! I think even my old HTC HD2 480p camera is better than this..
What can I do (except for going into 1080p mode) to make my video quality better?
Looks fine to me.
Try to stop zooming in and don't make many sudden movements as those cause it to have to focus again.
Also, it is always possible that YouTube is just decreasing the quality so...ya.

It looks so pixelated to me.. But on my other device that records 720p, it records way lot better than this..
There is way too much movement on both videos. I don't any camera phone could do better under those circumstances.
As a test, take another video without so much movement on the camera end and see if your quality improves.
Good luck.

That does not look like 720p to me, movement or not. Strange??? Take on in 1080p and upload it so we can see how it looks.
use the mod in my signature, re-shoot, upload and report back
by default 720p records at ~6mbps which for fast motion material can turn out blocky
download "media-profiles-final-holmes6.zip", flash in CWM, reboot

[Q] 1080p/720p Video recording FPS?

I'm going to buy One X(or One XL) when it released at South Korea.
So I'm searching its specs & informations.
I heard there is frame drop issue when taking 1080p video recording.
First, it took 19fps, and after a firmware update, it takes 23fps at the moment.
Then what about 720p video recording?
Does 720p recording support 30fps perfectly? Or It has same issue?
Are there any news to fix this software problem from HTC?
My 1080p Videos has 19,36 FPS and the 720p has 23,1 FPS.
I use my One X with ARHD 5.1.1 & Bricket-Kernel, still got no OTA to 1.29 so ive got old Radio!
But there are 2 Cam-Mods out there which push the Mbit/s and the Framerates, but aware this are BETA's!

thx to reply.
So 720p recording also has FPS issue huh?
Don't know why HTC doesn't release patch to fix it.
I heard ONE-S(snapdragon 4th model) doesn't have any FPS issue at all LOL.
It's so weird that ONE-X got video recording problem... This one is way better flagship model
First of all, hardware wise the H1X can do [email protected] You can download Camera ICS from Play Store and see for yourself. However, the stock camera capped fps to 24. Thats really sux.

You mean third party camera app can take 1080p recording smoothly, right?
However, stock camera app doesn't support 30fps. So it seems camera application has problem. Am I right?
But Camera ICS app doesn't support Burst shot I guess... hmm.
Neither taking photos while recording.
Anyway, I don't have H1X lol.
First of all, to clear the misconception, I have done A LOT of testing on the video recording capabilities of the HOX. Firstly, ALL camera apps that I have tried have DROPPED frames when recording.
Dropped frames are the sudden jitter and lag during recording. Generally video is recorded at 30fps, but throughout recording and playback, the frames get dropped very often.
Dropped frames and low FPS are NOT the same. Low FPS seems to be constant, during low light it drops to 17fps or so, but well lit areas 30fps MAX. Just go record a short 30 second clip and you will see what I mean. Every few frames you can see the video stutter and then FPS picks back up. Very bad, and very irritating. There doesn't seem to be a fix to it yet.

[Q] Snapchat blurry video quality?

My SGH-M919 is really odd when it comes to recording videos.
Pictures are okay, but video quality is a bit terrible.
When I record a video, it takes a while for it to begin recording...normal, I've seen this happen on other Android devices.
As I'm recording, the video looks okay, no choppiness, yet.
When the recording stops and the playback starts.. the video looks pixelated.
The only time the video looks high quality is when the camera is still.. as soon as the camera moves.. it becomes pixelated.. but, then as the camera is settled.. it forms back into a high quality video.. move it again.. pixelated.
I have the video settings set on 'Standard,' as opposed to 'Low' on Snapchat, but that does not help.
Does anyone know what's going on? Should I enable/disable anything in the developer options? I've noticed this on Snapchats received by other Android users in my contact list, but iOS 4.x.x+ devices are all clear.
Any help/troubleshoot is appreciated!
If y'all need a video, lemme know and I'll try to send one.
Same here, iOS users are always clear, Android is the same as your issue and the same with me.. I would like to have this fixed as well!!

That's what I had thought lol, I hope snapchat improves in quality for Android devices
