Stock earphones - HTC One X

Have you tried the earphones that the HTC One X come with ? With my last smartphones , I wasn't that happy with the overall build quality of the stock earphones , but today I gave the HTC One X earphones a chance .
I was really surprised after opening the plastic bag , flat tangle-free cord , the design is very elegant and sexy and you got a remote on the right side that can control music , calls , etc.
And an even bigger surprise , they sound better than they look. The bass is deep , but dosen't cover the mids and highs , stays on the background so you have crystal clear sound.
And the sexy and elegant design and great sound quality is not all , I use them now for 3 hours and I can't feel any discomfort or pain in my ear , they are very comfortable. If you use them for a long time you almost forget that you have them on .
They look and sound great , and the overall quality is over Nokia and old HTC stock earphones. I can say they are as good or better than the Apple earphones . Nice job HTC , this little things make the costumer happy .
Give them a chance, test them and tell me what you think. Sorry for my bad english .

How do you control music with them ? ive tried all ways to get this to work even using jays control app (or what ever its called) didnt seem to work with the stock headset, am i missing something ?

What i think?
For the Last 3 months i'ce ben using Sony xb500 and i Know it is no comparrison, nur the stock Ines are to Big and Sound likean old Radio. No Base, no mids and no noise cancelation.
I would go as far as say my 15 € akg in ears are far better.
Just my two cents...
Gesendet von meinem HTC One X mit Tapatalk 2

I dont think the sound quality is too bad on them, I just have no clue how to get them top skip track pause or do anything lol

You can only make them pause and play with one press .

is there anyway around that ? or some good quality headphones that will control the stock music app from on cord controls ?

I don't think so , only with some third party music app maybe.

i found myself a good pair of earphones from ebay..i thought they was the real deal..beats tour by dre...alright for that price was to good to be true..anyways i had a sneaky feeling they were fake and when the box came and i opened them up my fears became true....but to my amazement the sound quality is the best i have heard so far and for the price i gave it was a good deal i say...so till i save up money for a decent pair this beauty will do it for me..stock earphones are good as well but i prefer the in ear ones

All I want is to be able to skip track with the stock headphones annoying to have to get the phone out everytime I want to skip.

now thats handy, if only the X's where in ear canal type. if you want to spend £10 to £15 theres these options. i brought these off ebay, listen to music at work for long time 5 times a week and they are a good option to replace me recently broken £90 BT headphoneshttp://www.htcaccessorystore.com/uk/p_htc_item.aspx?i=229925&phone=229814.

Yes , this really works , thanks .

I have also tried them, and compared to my Dre Beats (Tour, White) they are not bad. Only I don't love the design of this things, control music etc. is very nice!

will these in ears work with one x??

I think you can do a long press and a double press with power amp which will skip tracks

The HTC's are the worst and most uncomfortable headphone design I've ever tried, Sound quality is poor as well though they are quite loud but the louder you go the worse they sound.
That said I prefer they include ****e like that because it keeps the overall costs down then you are free to spend your own money on phones of your choice.
If they included beats headphones (which are also ****e) it would add cost to the phone and I'd still use my shures or sleeks anyway.

The stock headphones are ok.. however I was expecting Beats urBeats Headphones to ship with the HTC One X... after all it is the Flagship phone!

Music quality with earphones

Hi i hvnt purchased a desire yet but im looking into it, howver i just need to know one other thing before purchasing.
I have heard the sound qualoty isnt good from the speakers but insread i need to know if the music/sound quality is good through earphones, i currently have an x10 and i can safely say the quality through earphones is terrible, no equaliser, very quiet.
Also does the desire have equaliser?
Thanks guys

Thanks for your reply,
can you mention any apps that remove the euro. restriction pls ?
I have have a set of sennheiser PXC 250 sound is very good..... or depends what you need .. and at what level the mp3s etc are at .. 320bit is better than 128 etc..
I have a non-branded unrooted Desire. the sound level is very good, I have no complaints. the big problem for me is the lack of equalizer, as the bass output is very weak. I have a pair of good expensive headphones that have bass booster and it's still very low. Unfortunately I cannot correct it without an equalizer.

you could try louder volume hack
I use mixzing music player, I highly recommend it. It has EQ.
Standard headphones sound ok, but I prefer the ear canal type.
The volume from the stock ROM is fine.

@ShugM
Mixzing is indeed a nice app. thanks for sharing
Sound quality is terrible through speaker and headphones. I wouldn't recommend using the desire as an mp3 player. Battery is bad enough without playing music.
I just bought the Sony Ericsson MW600 HiFi Bluetooth headset with FM Radio and the volume is incredible compared to the stock headsets it comes with. Plus as a side benefit, the in call function works great too.
So while the stock sound and headsets aren't the best, there are some good 3rd party solutions out there.
Now I have to say, I love the commute to work now wearing my new headsets. It makes my Desire a great MP3 player.
BTW, I agree with the battery issue. It isnt the best. But all the smartphones are not that great.
Depends very much on the headphones being used. I'm currently using Philips SHE 9850 and let me tell you -- they are awesome, the best I've ever had. Volume is more then sufficient (I'm usually at 50-60%), sound is very balanced, clear and rich. No need for an EQ.
You should also consider which radios (2G/3G/WLAN/BT) you are on when using certain headphones. At least mine tend to pick up (due to a pretty low impedance -- "ohm") quite some noise by the radio when on 2G. When loading a website it sounds like an old modem. Fortunately, most of the time I'm on 3G/WLAN which produces much less audible noise ("heartbeats").

To me, sound quality of the Desire via the headphones is great for a "walkman". I have also compared it to iPod and, to me, it seems the same. So, that means it's FAR from rubbish...
I can also recommend great and cheap headphones if you want very good sound:
Search for NuForce ne-6 or ne-7m (they are the same, but the 7m also has a mic so one can receive phone calls and has playback controls).
Yeah the sound quality isnt the best concerning the volume that the Desire puts out, but its ok (and even better if you use 3rd party earphones, which by the way, I thank all those who made suggestions because I upgraded too).
But common people, comparing the sound quality with an iPod and then complaining isnt cool. The Desire was built as a phone and all the other stuff is extras. So when you consider that it is a multifunctional smartphone, then I have to say that the Desire is FANTASTIC!!!!!!! I have had mine for a month and it rocks.
Sure there are some little quirks, but every smartphone out there has its quirks. But compared to all the ones I've had before, the Desire is lightyears ahead. Especially given that I watched a new tv show episode that I transfered to the Desire and watched it on the bus this morning using my 3rd party Sony Ericsson MW600 HiFi Bluetooth headset with FM Radio and it was indeed a great experience (and a great commute to work this morning).

Beats Tour + EVO 3D

I bough Beats Tour earphones, and only afterwards I went on the beats website to find out why my volume up and down buttons dont work. It turns out, only bloody apples have the suitable "Hardware?". It looks like it has same jack as evo 3D.
But I just want to clearify, for me and other Beats Tour earphone users. Is there a software for androids that would allow to read them extra buttons on headset, or is it truely hardware limitation.. Couse It would KILL ME to say, that Apple is better in this way... (Like theres not enough iphone only products)
Beats anything are a gimmick. Not to mention overpriced and overrated.
I have some Rocketfish BT headphones that work great and cost less than half of what most Beats wired headphones will cost you.

I respect your view, but it did not answer my view..
I don't think that there is any software that you can get that would make the buttons work because they are designed for an iphone.
Hi, I am going to buy a beats tour later on , and I am a EVO 3d user to, I realize that you are suffering a volume button non working problem, but I more want to know that is your beats tour's MIC is working well while you are having a phone talk.
Thanks

I would give it 8/10 for the mic. When you try to use it, you would expect to work perefctly, but I heard complains over the other end of the call.. But i believe it might be due to the connection, couse I didnt had a chance to hear myself through the mic.. I think the mic is fine.. But I would recommend not to buy, unless u have an iPhone Becouse you get this feeling that all the money u paid, and yet cant use all of its features (Volume up/down Buttons)
I wonder if this this going to be the case with every HTC phone
the beats tour and ibeats control talk will not work on htc or any android phones. there is a android version called urbeats that have control talk for android phones can be found on att ,t mobile and sprint website.
Headset Button Controller is $3 for the app and has a free 2 week trial version. I've used it with great success to program the center button of iphone compatible headphones to also work for volume up, volume down, skipping tracks etc. For example, mine is such that a long press raises volume, while click then long press lowers volume. Decent work around solution.
List of headset and headphones that work all three buttons & mic
- urbeats
- htc beats solo
- Sony smart headset
- Nocs NS200H-001
Update as I found some more
Nice!
Nice earbuds and Nice phone!
There is a workaround to this that I saw.
Get Sony Ericsson buds that split at the middle where the buttons are. Dunno if you can get the half with buttons alone. Split it,then plug in your beats to the top half. Use the Ericsson buttons. Sorted. Also works with solo and studio headphones.

You can make studios and if bought the iphone verion of solos work with htc if u buy the cable for it
Pm for the link for the cable.
If this helps give thanks
I would recommend to sell the beats and buy a bit better ones But of course i dont say those are bad! Just beats are a bit overpriced

Best earphone for HTC One X

Hey guys, I'm about to buy a HTC One X and I'd like to know which earphone you think it's the best for this phone. I heard that some headsets are not compatible with HOX (buttons not working, for example).
Searching the internet, I found these two
1- http://www.ebay.com/itm/MONSTER-BEA...946119?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item5d367a5807
2- http://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-HT...301082?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item20cdb7629a
What do you think? Thanks.
Any beats you get from eBay are likely to be fake.
Also, beats are overpriced and mediocre.
If you go to the accessories section of the forum you will find headphones discussions with plenty of recommendations.
I have been using Logitech Ultimate Ears 300 and now 350.
Best among all the previous in-ear earphones I had.
I am rocking a-jays one+. Good bang for buck, nice design, comes with app

It's nice but I'm hearing some hiss noise which is kinda annoying. When I try it in iPhone 4 or iPad theres no noise like that, very silent. Wonder why...

Headphones recommendations...

Hey guys,
i love the stock in ear headphones but i'm struggling as to why samsung and apple can do remote control but HTC seem to only have 1 button!
I'd like to control volume, and also skip songs and go back, etc.
Anyone got any recommendations of headphones and how to get that functionality?

Hi,
It will be hard to find an headphone with the remote control.I see the Beats headphones made for the HTC Sensation,it have 3 buttons specially made for HTC Devices. You also have the official HTC headphone with 3 buttons on the htc accessory website.
Most of others headphones on the market will be for Apple devices,it have 3 buttons but only the "accept/reject call" work on the One.
If I had to recommend you a good one,try the v-moda m80 silver(Smaller) or the V-moda m100(Bigger).it looks great with the One with some silver metal builds quality. The sound quality is great even you 're listening hip hop music or classical. It comes with 2 cable:1 for the Apple devices and 1 for Android devices(just with 1 mic button) and it's kevlar made, very hard to break
Look for :v-moda crossfade M-80 white overview, review on Youtube for the official videos
By the way, there is also an app called:"headset button controller" on google play store,it was great and I used it on my old HTC models, but didn't try on the One.You can assign some function on one button like double/triple press or holding.

Fry's has these for $140 this weekend. I'm trying really hard to resist. That's more than I've spent on what I consider my audiophile headphones.
I already have the Plantronics BackBeat GO, which has a similar form factor. They fit well, are mostly inconspicuous, and have good audio for a non-AptX headset. However the 3 hour battery life and lack of multi pairing are keeping me from putting them on unless I'm doing something where the cord gets in the way (for me, mostly lab work). I considered the LG Tone+, but I think they look doofy and I question the quality of the earbuds.

Music through headphones?

Evening all,
So I'm on the fence at the minute,
Short story I have the option to get the M8 in replacement for my Note 3 with multiple issues
I dont want to wait for S5 because I'm kinda fed up now with Sammy not changing their S series in design or features for that matter.
So anyway can anyone tell me how good the music is through headphones? I know the dual speakers are amazing just haven't been able to test my music through the headphone jack.
I've believe there is no equalizer on the music app? which is no off putting but I do like to mess bout abit with the sound.
any input from owners would be great!!
Cheers . .

The headphone quality is top notch, volume is super loud, very good for headphones, bass is super punchy and clean, highs aren`t grainy, plenty of power, maybe an inline amp?, hiss is minimal, ink black on most, only trace hiss on my silver cable se535`s which is very very very good, considering they would pick up hiss on my one x+ even when the internal amp was off and no music was playing!. Did I mention the bass was good?, because its probably the best i`ve heard, at least on any mobile device.
I'm glad I'm not the only one switching from a note 3. You say punchy bass, is it similar to cyanogenmods bass boost ?

I had a similar problem with the LG G2. First one I had had the treble was waaay too low. Installed an EQ to fix it, and just assumed that's the way it sounded.
Got another G2 two months later and it was fine out of the box.. don't think it had been updated either. Weird.
Maybe try someone else's M8 - yours may be faulty?

Thanks but its definitely the headphones, reviews made the sound signature sound cool but in reality it is unnatural, even though they were very expensive. Had the same problem with the One X but once I installed Poweramp and fiddled with the EQ they sounded great.

Personally, I don't like to use any kind of equalizer.
If you rip the audio "loselessly"(not in mp4 format, mp3 spoils the quality) from the CD you bought, I think equalizer would be no needed.
As for the phone itself, the build-in music player supports flac file, it should be convenient for us, no conversion needed.:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:
