So I have Galaxy Nexus and recently i've noticed my wifi only is showing the up arrow on wifi symbol (uploading) but not the small down arrow that it's supposed to when receiving information (downloading), and therefore I can't receive push information, and no messages will send over data when this happens also.
The only way for me to fix this is to turn wifi off and back on again.
I have AOKP M5 and Franco.kernel M3.
WIFI also seems to stop transmitting data when phone is sleeping, until i un-sleep it and then messages come in
I recently redid my phone in order to upgrade to AOKP M5, so this might be hardware related?
Any ideas?
Same problem here, I use stock 4.2.2 . I also own a Nexus 7, but it only happends on my Galaxy Nexus.
i have the same problem. I have an old backup from mars that works well but after 2-4 days it becomes gray and it only uploads.
So what is the cause of this problem.
---------- Post added at 09:49 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:44 PM ----------
I am using a Galaxy Nexus on 4.2.2 stock rooted
You might want to download trickster mod from market and change tcp scheduler in the settings.
It didn't solve the issue!

I must have rebooted my phone at least 3 times tonight.
Yep, seeing the same thing here. No 3G, No 4G, no 1X. Not connecting, no assigned IP, no nothing. Tried rebooting, shutting down and then pulling battery, switch between CDMA/LTE, data roaming on/off, etc.
The curious thing is that my brother's Droid X was working just fine, though I did NOT try disconnecting it from the 3G network.
Text messaging and phone calls are working fine.
And just tried turning Wi-Fi off on my Xoom, it connects on 3G with no issue and bandwidth is plentiful.
Omg just installed 403 on mu cdma nexus and thought it was my rom. ffffffffuuuuuuuu restored it now back to reinstalling dammit

oh thank god. I just flashed Android Revolution tonight and thought it was that ROM causing this problem.
Here is the link to the problem on Engadget.

hey btw, does anyone know where to get the Titanium Backup and ROM Manager SDK's so I can restore my backups without a wireless connection?
Data is down here in fla too. Thought it was just me. Glad its not lol.

The Nexus was just to powerful for Verizon's network, couldn't take the awesomeness!
Ok, I have tried multiple searches and am not getting a clear answer (maybe not asking the right question). I have a rooted HTC one (m7) with Wifi Teather app installed (my mac and windows laptops see the "network") but my Rooted Nexus 7 running clean rom does not see the network. Am I missing something? What are some suggestions?
Reset every setting. Try a different hot spot app (maybe use sqlite editor and use factory hot spot app) .

Also see if it's broadcasting in 2.4ghz only maybe nexus is set to 5ghz only
Does anyone use the hotspot feature and is it still working for you? Mine turns on but then right back off. Just started this afternoon. Tried rebooting a few times, no joy.
Mine still works.

Are you using Foxfi or are you paying for the hotspot?
I added the hotspot feature and it still won't work. Time to get rid of it ?

Just tested mine. Still works. Also a part of our corporate account.
For what it's worth, my first Note7 did exactly what you are describing. Once I swapped to the loaner Note5, hotspot started working again.

You tested it on a Note 7 and it works? I'm sure it still works for a Note 5 because it still works on my wife's S7 edge

Strange, I might try and factory reset it and see if that helps.
Factory reset didn't fix it. I've noticed that when I turn Wi-Fi off it toggles on and off indefinitely. Anybody else experiencing this problem?

I'm having the same problem, one day it worked then stopped working.
Heres what I have found out:
I have factory reset a few times, and it will start working again for a bit until I start updating and installing apps. (try factory reset again)
Its not a third party app since safe mode is still affected.
I'm trying to narrow down what is causing it. I will update when I figure it out.

---------- Post added at 06:21 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:17 AM ----------
*update* its not the Verizon app
UPDATE: the problem is google play services. you need to uninstall/deactivate the current update. to do so follow instructions here: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/play/xLilOUkyqSE
---------- Post added at 07:54 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:46 AM ----------
well it seems that after you disable google play services you cannot use..well..google play. so it needs to be re enabled. I'm working on a fix to install an older one which will let google play work and not affect mobile hotspot, until a new stable update is out
thanks for the heads up
Solved/Fix: I was able to figure out that the issue was that there was necessary packages that were disabled upon having disabled auto updates. This is the fix, to everyone that is interested! I hope this saves you 6 Hours
Hey Guys,
I'm having a really big problem. Last week I was in LA for Some Music Business and I ended up meeting a lot of people in the Industry and getting their contact, exchanging messages, etc.. My Note 7 never got the 'Brick' update as I used package disabler to disable incoming updates so I've been using this exact phone for all my mobile contact needs.
Just Yesterday I received my Galaxy S8+ and All morning I've been attempting to backup my Note 7 and restore them on my new Galaxy S8+ and nothing is working. I've Tried Smart Switch (Multiple, multiple times), Smart Switch software via Mac, Backing up through Samsung Cloud, Backing Up through 3rd party 'Switch' apps, switching through Wifi, and nothing works.
The issues I have:
- Samsung Smart Switch: On my S8+ it opens and works fine. My Note 7 opens smart switch for 3 seconds and closes.
- Samsung Smart Switch Via Mac OS: It Stays stuck at the backup phase.
- Samsung Cloud Backup: It literally does nothing (as if I didn't even tap the screen)
- 3rd Party Switch Apps: Works on S8+ but Stays Stuck on Note 7 before even beginning the switch process.
I sincerely ask for some help. I've been sitting here in my home for the past 2 1/2 hours getting a headache from this and I want to get out and enjoy the day ( I live in Minnesota and its 70 Degrees today)

Switch Off Wifi / Remove SIM
Uninstall Package Disabler
Go to Settings / and Clear Data for SmartSwitch App
Restart Device
Try Again directly via Wifi, If via Computer - Switch off Wifi in computer

I think it's a bad idea. Once you get rid of package disabler the OTA will push and brick it. I would say clear the cash for Switch app and try again.

I just followed every instruction except the uninstall Package Disabler. It definitely changed things up. I can now open Smart Switch on my Note 7 and have it stay open. The issue now is it stays stuck at transferring. The transfer says it shouldn't be more than 9 minutes but 15 mins in it still shows that its at 0%. Could It be that I have an older version of Smart Switch?
That is possible I would update it and also check if your encryption is disabled on the phone and SD card if there is one.

Thing is disabling apps on my Note 7 does not allow me to re-enable them. I've had it happen to Instagram and Facebook. I also have no idea. It for some odd reason is messing with me every way it can.
I been doing the Smart Switch via the USB, so should I try it over Wi-Fi? (I thought I wanted to have Wi-Fi disabled)

If you were able to transfer files you can get rid of the package disabler you got and I'll hook you up with a disabler app that works on S8 and N7

I actually think I realized what the issue is. When I blocked the OTA and UFW updates I also had Package Disabler Pro disable all Bloatware. I now see that it disabled some packages that are needed for the transfer (And it also resolves and gives me an answer to my Instagram, FaceBook issue). Thing is I've been trying for the past 20 minutes to enable them (It says they are enabled but when I check they still are disabled).
Is it safe for me to uninstall package disabler pro? Wouldn't it have Samsung Push me a force update right away?

The problem with any Package Disabler app out there Sumsung pulled licenses for N7 and for that reason they stoped working in full but they still block the packages. It will be safe to uninstall it unless you haven't have pending OTA update and your phone on WiFi or data.

I have a Galaxy Watch 46mm and I am having problems with the Back Up
When trying to do a back up, after a few minutes I get the message "no data to back Up"
I have the latest Galaxy wearable app.
I have paired the phone first to an S8 then reset everything and paired to a Note 9, same problem.
Contacted Samsung and after many emails back and forth they said that there was probabaly a fault and sent a new watch.
They have just sent a new watch and it has the same problem "No data to back up"
This does not seem a common problem so I am puzzled as to what to do next, I wondered if it may be an issue with the Samsung Cloud but mt Note 9 is connecting and backing up correctly.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
I have this problem sometimes , When you get that error just go back to the backup/restore screen and try again that always works for me
I have been having the same problem for more than a month now. Have tried pigglett's solution with going back to the backup/restore screen countless times - it doesn't help for me.

What ended up solving the issue for me was to reboot both the watch and my phone. The backup works now.
^good feedback post!
Did anyone find an answer to this as I have been 5 months now unable to backup my Gear S3 watch. The app simply doesnt appear to find any watch data to backup!!

ensure that package com.samsung.android.scloud is installed (not removed as possible bloatware)
