Well it appears as I may be using my tablet less, a lot less.
I had my tablet in my had and I tripped over my dog and dropped it, only about half a meter and onto carpet!

Picture is with a black image with full screen gallery, apart from the cracks it works fine
I'm going to see if I can get a refund/replacement as a "software" problem as it only shows with screen on
The cracks are obvious all the time with screen on, I'm really disappointed that it broke this easy, I hope archos learn and use gorrila glass or plastic next time....

Yeah I'm really annoyed, what's weird is I can't feel the cracks and can only see them with screen on.
I might format the whole thing and take it back....

Yeah as most screens its a sort of plastic on top(touchscreen) and then the glass screen itself

With a $500 tablet you'd expect one with gorilla glass.
For $260 or less, you can't really expect many niceties.

That'll still cost me $200....the phone is, what, $550 at BB? (it was $699 at launch). That gives me $350 of buy-back credit. Then I also have to cough up another $40 (or $60) to get another round of buyback...so now we're up to $250 ish.....
I'll take the replacement chassis.
So does the white version have hardware changes? There were some threads earlier saying it might have a different audio processor.
Why not just get a white TPU case or something? Or a white battery cover when those become available? The medly of colours would be cool.

I posted a thread a while back asking if the white version might come with the superior wolfson dac found on the original epic. Anyone with any info?
Does this mean original Epic 4G Touch sales were successful enough to warrant manufacture of a white version?
My wife has the AT&T white Skyrocket. It's nice but I dislike the glossiness & the faux chrome bezel.
If Sprint can keep it matte & omit that fake chrome it will be one sexy beast (so to speak)
After looking at some pics of one obtained by the peeps at Pocket Now, it appears (though hard to tell) that it might be matte & instead of the chrome bezel has a silver one instead.

I hope if some one does find a place to buy the shell of white they post it. Has any one actually taken all the plastic shell off? Hope it doesnt require specialised tools or have a hang up like part of it being connected to the screen or mic/speaker being glued onto the shell

Dropped my RAZR M just 4 days after I got it. Kind of funny actually since it involves an iPhone but anyway...the screen is smashed. I know this phone is really new but does anyone know where to get a replacement display? I assume I need to get the whole display since the glass is fused to it. Thanks for any help.

It will be cheaper to get an insurance replacement for $100 than to wait for parts and get a digitizer, LCD, and glass for this phone (they are fused together in one piece, check out the teardown).
How hard was the drop?
Flat on the glass from about chest high with an iPhone landing on it...so pretty hard I dropped it on other time from about the same height with it landing on its glass again and it came away with so much as a scratch. I think its the iPhone that cause this.

I would just pay the deductable and get a new phone as well. Then it would be back under warrenty (unlikely if you try to do the repairs yourself) and no dealing with unknown suppliers on a line of phones barely two weeks old. just my 2c, i understand your diy urges though!

as you can see i have a grey line at this part of the screen which is not seen on the screen shot normally. I painted it in. I can only see it if the screen in this area is dark like this.

Ok. .. i will bring it back to the store.
I flashed a custom rom. Do you think that's a problem?
Gesendet von meinem GT-N7100 mit Tapatalk 2
Your screen is NOT broken. All AMOLED displays the Mura in the form of either dot / blobs, black lines, or stains, some even in all three representations. There is nothing you can do about it. Replacing the device will likely get you one that is worse than your current one. Refer to this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2108073 for your knowledge and understanding.
This has nothing to do with flashing custom ROMs. Also, be cautious of warranty, as you have already rooted your phone.
A lot of folks probably have screens that are worse than yours, so live with what you have, and enjoy your phone. - Cheers

Im sorry everyone. Apparently I took the only good Note II. If you have any of the above reasons to return your phone or have it repaired, do so. I know your all still under waranty from Samsung since our device is less than a year old so WHY NOT?! And im sorry but "may get one worse"???!! Umm. No. If there were ANY problems with a oem repaired or replaced phone (which by the way is not very common!) YOUR STILL COVERED! I am sorry, but I dont believe you should have to tolerate ANY imperfections made by the manufacturer. Yes, I will admit Samsung isnt quite statistically as good as Apples qc but this means nothing. Apple makes one device. Samsung? A couple more. It is only natural that the defect % goes up. Anyway enough blithering, do whatever floats your boat.

I've gone through the SGS2 and Note 1; both had issues which eventually led me to get refund checks; however, after sometime, the AMOLED technology has grown on me, and I completely understand that the Mura Effect of AMOLED's is normal; there isn't such thing as a perfect AMOLED display out there; and I'm sure most XDA forum members understand that as well, unless they have no clue at all. Samsung would agree as well; AMOLED still has ways to go. I look forward to that in Samsung's future models; Youm.
My wife decided my original kf needed to be thrown against the wall.
It works but the LCD is busted.
Exactly what part and from where do I need to replace it? (United states)

Ordered this. Hope it's right part. If not please tell me if anyone knows. I think my digitizer is OK because things move when I touch the screen.

Looked at the instructions as well looks like the LCD is attached to a front glass panel which may be the only part needing replacement. It is composed of the black frame with clear glass inside. The way it appears is that part you ordered is underneath the glass panel itself.
Yes I believe that has a clear glass panel in it according to ifixit`s instructions.
I`m saying if glass face is broken the part that you are showing is what he needs.
The glass isn't broken just the LCD under it
So now I'm confused... Is that the right part still because I placed the order already
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy SVII using Tapatalk 6 Beta
As I understand there is the LCD and the digitizer right?
So my glass panel on top isn't shattered just the LCD
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy SVII using Tapatalk 6 Beta

Lol @ 2 commandments
Waiting on the stupid little pry tool to come. I thought it would come before the lcd came. I used to repair iPods professionally (7+ years ago) and we would just use thin plastic screwdrivers..and we would always inevitably dent the metal iPod casing so we became masters at bending it back with our fingers in between our t-shirts...
anyhow I thought I would order the "new age" piece of plastic stick pry tool that exists nowadays for $2.50. with free shipping
Idiots sent wrong part. Figured it out after entire KF was in pieces and half reassembled.

How did you claim it with warranty? And how long did it take? I have a note 2 as well, I replaced the glass. It was perfectly fine before I replaced it. All that was broken was the glass. And once I turned it in on became hazy I can still see but it's really annoying not having good clarity. Any help would be awesome. I posted a few pictures of what the screen looks like at start up.

Ensurion
If everyone is paying the $7.99 a month for the ensurion insurance, they cover loss. You have to pay $50 to get a new/refurbished device. But $50 is still cheaper than replacement cost. In lamens terms take what you want off of your device chuck it and claim a loss.
