Hi, I recently had to unlock, root and install the t mobile 1.26 stock rom because I updated my phone whilst being charged which destroyed my phone. All went fine however when I manually search for the update it's saying my phone is up to date although it 1.26
Can anyone provide any suggestions how I can receive the updates?

This has been posted on the VF UK Eforum, (HTC desire stuck on splash screen thread) but no one's come up with an answer yet.
In a nutshell, downloaded the VF OTA update.
When I select "Install now", the phone reboots, I get the HTC splash screen and then the phone turns itself off - and stays turned off.
VF customer services told me to ring HTC. HTC told me to get an RUU executable for this update and reflash my phone, but one isn't available?
Anyone got any ideas?
P.S. As this is a work phone rooting and installing some other ROM isn't an option.
Resolved, but I had to root (although I didn't use another ROM, just successfully installed the VF OTA update). Will take myself to one side and give myself a good talking to for breaching the IT policy.
Dear all,
my HTC One X was unlocked with htcdev and the mobile device was rooted. Now I have big problems to pair my HTC with my VW bluetooth device. I would like to install the new OTA which was published some days ago by T-Mobile.
Currently I am using Android 4.03 with HTC Sense 4.0 Software 1.26.111.4
The new OTA is 1.28.111.x. ow can I proceed to get this OTA installed without danger to brick my phone ?! I am novice for Android.
Thanks in advance.

hello mate. what i did was before i rooted my phone was made a backup of my stock rom. that was on 1.26. then i flashed a rom and all was good. my carrier released the OTA so what i did i reverted back to my backup and then did not need to lock bootloader or anything and just flashed the OTA and my phone got updated. then just installed the latest cwm recovery and back on a custom rom
since you do not have a custom rom on i am pretty sure you can update since you have not flashed any roms. if you have the option to update OTA then go for it mate.
but make sure if you have custom recovery to flash back to the stock one. you can get stock recovery.img from this thread here in the first post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1594819
Hey guys quick question I am thinking of getting an unlocked what looks like international version of the one X on ebay, (because of the 32gb and quad core CPU) but I was wondering how does this phone play with tmobile's network. will it access hspa 41 network? or just the hspa 21? any help will be greatly appreciated.
Hey guys, would appreciate if someone could cast some light on my problem. I have an HTC One X that is factory S-Off, unlocked bootloader and with SuperCID, that has never been rooted, flashed or modified in any way. I received all previous OTA updates in timely manner (usually few days after the initial seeding) and without problems, but I still haven't got the latest 4.2.2 update although it has been out for some time now. Anyone out there with similar configuration that received the update? Does anyone know a magic trick to initiate the OTA update? I'm currently on 3.14.401.27. Please, do not suggest RUU install or any other method that would end up in full wipe since this is currently not an option for me ( the missus is using the phone and I would like to avoid reinstalling all the crap she has on it ).
Hi
I ahve also S-OFF, superCID form factory, but my bootloader was locked, maybe relock your bootl.?
Well, it is factory unlocked and it wasn't a problem for earlier updates, so I doubt it is a problem now.
doesn't matter if bootloader is locked or unlocked, you only need stock recovery for ota. just a waiting game I think
Make sure you are on a Europe wwe rom

Hello Friends,
I recently was fed up of my ROM so i updated it with the RUU and it went fine, but then i did software update from device ( OTA update) once and then it worked fine, then again i updated it once as it was showing one update but after that second update it did not receive the signal and my phone became dead as far as signal was considered. after that i tried to run again RUU to restore it back but it shows error that uncorrect RUU version. I tried installing other custom ROM but it stucks now and i am waiting at bootloader in wait of your help.
My details of phone are
Device : HTC One V CDMA Virgin Mobile
HBOOT 1.57.000
RADIO 1.00.00.0928
Can anyone please help me to get my phone running. i would be grateful for any help as i am stuck at this point.
Hi guys, I own the international unlocked version of the One M8, but I still didn't get the Lollipop update OTA, and I decided to update my M8 manually by downloading the ROM from HTC USA website.. but I had a conversation with HTC's customers service, and they told me not to update manually cause it may brick your phone which is weird cuz many other OEM provide a manual update that works with all versions especially international unlocked version..
So is there any way to upgrade my M8 to lollipop?? cuz I can't wait for the OTA update any longer.
It's a chance that you have to take with every manual update or changing of ROM.
Not that it will brick it, but there's a chance.
Is it an OTA or an RUU, or something else?
