Hey guys,
Great job all the dev's are doing, just wondered if there is/will be Clockworkmod Touch for our phone?
Thanks
Jamie
right now...no. there is only one developer who made cwm availible for out device and that person is busy making a well known rom; cyanogenmod9. there might be in the future but...probably not. depends. who knows. unless the devs of cwm make an official version of cwm for our device then we might get a better cwm touch then a replica from a random dev.

I believe it's called porting.
AFAIK, CWM 5 touch and CWM 5 shares the same setting and kernel.
Anyway... You can fully use it

ClockworkMod Recovery
This is ClockworkMod Recovery v3.0.2.8 for the Motorola Xoom. It is build from Koush's latest source found in the CyanogenMod repo. It is compatible with all known models. At this time, DO NOT MAKE ANY NANDROID BACKUPS OR RESTORE AT THIS TIME. Just use recovery to flash kernels and zips. Reason being, you will end up with a super massive data.img likely larger than your fat32 sdcard can store. Fat32 has a maximum file size of 4GB. I am working on a viable backup solution.

NOTICE: Nandroid works exactly as it should. That means if you have 20GB of media in your internal storage, you will end up with a massive 20GB data.img on your SD Card. At the moment, there is nothing that can be done about this. Also, Flashing recovery has ABSOLUTELY NO EFFECT ON YOUR ANDROID SYSTEM AND DOES NOT WIPE ANYTHING.

Pull up your command prompt, then
Code:

Let your Xoom boot up. Then to check out your shiny new recovery,
Code:
adb reboot recovery
Also, you can grab Rom Manager or QuickBoot from the market for easy access to recovery.

About a day or so ago, I stated the following in another thread...
bigrushdog said:
The recovery will be up shortly. In the mean time, i recommend you back up your /data/media folder to your computer. The way things have turned out. Android will have to treat your external sd card as the real sd card. In other words, android will no longer use your internal memory for things like camera. your internal memory will just be storage space. But, isn't this the way it's supposed to be? Also, this should enable Mass Storage. You will also have to flash a new updated kernel which will also be up soon.
Click to collapse
I think this statement was probably premature. Flashing recovery has ABSOLUTELY NO EFFECT ON YOUR ANDROID SYSTEM. Recovery is completely separate. In the not-to-distant future, we should have a mod that will allow your Xoom to treat sd card as the system sd card. In other words, when you take a picture, it will go on the sd card. Also, apps will automatically store data to the sdcard. However, this future mod will have nothing to do with recovery.

Yes you can. Its the same recovery. Only difference is I built the one posted here and, of course, Koush built his.

No, you don't. Recovery is completely separate from the rest of the system. But a new kernel is in the pipeline. And its wicked.

Many of you who have tested ICS, would have definetely liked the ICS dialer.
Well, Guess what? It's now available for CM7 too!!
Phone.Apk is attached.
Please Follow the Instructions well.
UPDATE: Users are having some problems using this. It is still in alpha mode. Still modding it to erase all problems. Support Developer or Tester would be nice. PM me if you would like to be involved. To revert back, use the phone.apk from this post : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29069305&postcount=22. It can be installed using the terminal method or just copying it to system\app in Airplane Mod.
Installation Procedure:
Copy the file in the root directory on your sd card.
Rename the file to Phone.apk
turn on airplane mode.
Make sure ur system partition is set to R/W mode
open terminal from your phone.
type the following commands, one by one.
su
cp /sdcard/Phone.apk /system/app
chmod 644 /system/app/Phone.apk
reboot
Now, when you place a call or receive one, You will have the ics like dialer.
NOTE : You need to enable in-call touch UI. To enable, go to Settings > Call Settings > enable In-call touch UI.

You can use the Flashable Zip.
But in the terminal method you have to follow the instructions.
It's better to use these methods above.
I'm not so sure about the flashable zip file but in the terminal method, it automatically sets permissions.

there is no link to non touch cuz they can be easy updated via rom manager ( i explained in the op ) and i put only the touch version there cuz people like that one, ill put the non touch latter (its there its just private).
the diference is huge, Sk8r recovery is better cus it have more options, but this one is stock clockwork recovery for people like me that use the stock recovery. both Sk8r and this are builded with the same source. so Sk8r have the plus thing they added!

Good look on this one... was trying to flash a newerROM and this made it more simple... suggestion tho, on the flash settings as you go to flash a ROM and you have to confirm the action, the screen need to be smaller. Kinda threw me off not knowing the new format. I almost rebooted thinking there was no way to confirm task. But for a noob like me its a lil confusing. Just an observation. wiped the settings as needed without the need to any other scripts so thats a good thing.. thanks for the contribution

the only known issue ( and it was fixed by David ferguson ) was the USB moounting and the format bug, wish david ferguson fixed in 6.0.1.1 and after a long thest and optimixing i can say that this recovery is solid as sk8r recovery.
i dont know if you are flaming trolling or what ever, but people need to test things first and then report.

Grab the kernel in .tar format from here-http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2244781 and flash it with Mobile Odin Lite from the Play Store (it's free). Your device will reboot. I'm guessing your on stock rooted so pull your battery after it reboots, put your battery back in and hold Power+Volume Up until it boots into recovery. Then go to Install From SD (power button is used to select), pick which SD your download went to (external most likely), scroll down to Downloads folder, pick the FI03 Toolbox that you downloaded, select yes, after it's done select Back until you get to Reboot System. Select that. Follow the rest of the directions from the linked thread above where you downloaded the files.

You don't need GC01. GB27 is the Sprint version, the carrier does not matter on the kernel. The modem is the only thing that is carrier specific.

If you're stock rooted on the latest JB release... pick the latest gb27 release on the page bilgerryan linked up too.... but read the thread first and make sure if the newest release is recent... that it is working correctly. I can't stress enough how important it is to read everything you can get you're hands on.
The gb27 kernel/recovery is just the sprint version... I'm on boost also and I run nothing but sprint kernel's and modem's.. so you'll be good.
If by chance you're on ICS still... then go to rwilco12's repo and grab a stock touchwiz kernel that has a custom recovery... or even a custom touchwiz based kernel with a custom recovery..
You just need to make sure the kernel/recovery is matched to the rom version you're currently running.. then do as bilgerryan advised..
Good luck.
Sorry for answering for ya Ryan... but I know how busy you are. Please correct me if I answered poorly..

I am trying to use my old sprint phone on Net10 and I need my MSL to activate my phone. This is making me nuts! I have the custom recovery as well.. after trying all of this, I went into terminal emulator, typed getprop ril.MSL and it just flashed down to the next line. I have tried both using terminal as a regular user and a super user. does not make a difference. Is it possible to just wipe Sprint software off of the phone and install a generic? I can't stress enough how going from my gs2 with its big sexy screen to this tiny proclaim that is, well, no bueno, is killing me. I hate the proclaim....For the love of everything that is holy, please someone help me out here. Am I doing something wrong? I am new to this, but I have read and followed step by step what to do and it keeps ending up a waste of time
Have you tried the Sprint diags. The only thing that works in it for me is the ability to display the MSL.
I have also seen it posted that it does not work on the Boost & VM stock ROMs, you may have to flash a DeOdex TouchWiz ROM

Completely understood. The poster's request for original thread was somewhat unclear, so I directed him elsewhere to research before cluttering up YOUR thread.

When you go to "add rom" make sure you choose "Ubuntu Touch" as the ROM type. When you press next it'll prompt you for the 2 files.
You don't install them separately.

Second boot this did not happen.
This version seems the same as the first with the line down the screen. I opened terminal and it slid out from the right and the line is in every app
