ok guys ive just about had enuff of my evo from all these reboots...it reboots when im texting or surfing the web or on a phone call or using the gps...ive tried everything from flashing different roms to doing a complete wipe with partitioning sdcard. ive ran out of options on this phone..i am thinking of getting a 3D off contract since my upgrade is not till sep. but if i do get the 3d do i still have to unroot my evo or na since this is will b my first upgrade with sprint.....i do want to get the evo LTE tho as my upgrade...either way idk what do to about this situation
Sprint won't even check. If you have insurance, use it. Sounds like a hardware problem. Do yourself a favor and don't get the 3d. Terrible phone. Better off finding a crappy flip phone til the EVO LTE launches. Just curious, did you used to overclock your phone?

Ya it sucks. It seems to me like a lot of the people I see with hardware issues are ppl that OC their phones. I have only overclocked a phone to benchmark it. Other than that, always underclocked. You do have insurance I'm assuming?

I think that before you throw in the towel completely, you should run the RUU for your phone and start over. not sure what base your stock was (I never upgraded mine, ever and have the stock/rooted ROM still), but I think you did the right thing in reformatting your SD Card, but you should have gone the next step and ran the RUU, then just left it stock for a day to see if the problems persisted or not

There's a thread on themikmik.com about some people had reboots because of extended battery.

How long have you had the phone. My EVO did that to me, then it started overheating and boot looping. I called HTC and they fixed it for free. I was rooted S-OFF running FRESH Rom when I shipped it out. They kindly unrooted it for me before it shipped back but no problem there LOL

Depending on the battery, there's some reports of the connection not sitting exactly right, and any little movement or what not will cause relentless reboots.
Saw it in the Amazon reviews for the extended battery I bought a while back, but it turned out my reboots were unrelated unfortunately Haha.

Just wanna know if any of you have had troubles with the rear speaker of your dinc2. Mine rattles something fierce if I turn it up past a quarter volume. Is this common?

I've never had any such problem with mine. Is your phone rooted?
If so what are you running.
Sent from my Incredible 2 using xda premium
Yes I am rooted and running MikRunny 1.01. I thought it might be a software issue, or a difference in roms, but it persists no matter what Rom I use.
I called vzw for a replacement, wich is on its way. They sent me through tech support, and had me update my service via *228. But that didn't change anything.
I think it just might be fried.
Sent from my ADR6350 using xda premium
I thought it might be a software issue too. Since that's not the case you probably just blew it out.

That happened to me on MikRunny. There's a bug in the software. I thought I blew my speaker, but a reboot fixed it.

Thank you all for your replies. The problem has been going on for months. I've tried several different roms since it started. I think I just got a Monday speaker in my phone.
It hasn't gotten any better or worse since runnin mr1.01.
Hopefully my new one lasts me longer than 6 months.

Yeah a tiamat kernel isn't gonna mesh with sense. But I ran it with cm7 and miui. I still had the same issue. I honestly think it was just blown.
I have my replacement rooted and set up how I like it. So.... I'm good to go.
You all have a happy New year!

This only happens when I'm trying to type a text message or play a game that requires the use of a touch pad (like zenonia 3 and 4). The touch screen just refuses to respond properly and is causing me to be annoyed. Anyone know how to resolve this issue so I don't have to go back to Verizon and get a replacement?
NOTE: I've already tried to pull out the battery, format the phone, and the sd card. None of them worked.

On aosp roms I had the same issue.. just randomly would not respond. My soft keys would still and anything but the keyboard.. I don't know why. What I would do is turn my screen off and back on and it would start normal again.. then I just went back to sense and no issues

Ok, then I think it's probably an issue with the digitizer. I would take it to Verizon and see if you can get a replacement.

When this issue happened to me, I took my phone into the Sprint store and they tested and found that the battery was bad. I had tried the phone of a couple of different car chargers before that and I received that same message on all of them.

Universal car chargers are very bad for batteries. You always want to charge your phone more on the original charger. Only use a car charger when it is absolutely necessary to charge your phone.

Sprint will tell you it is a bad battery in order to keep from exchanging your device, this is the beginning part of the usb port starting to fail...I had this, I checked everywhere and then eventually the port gave in and went bad. Sprint exchanged my device.

Good thing my upgrades in march. fingers crossed i also land my job at sprint but **** man just to get hired what a process its been two weeks. Had this same issue yesterday after flashing FI27. Started with "voltage too high" eventually wouldnt charge at all. Luckily i have a repair center a mile ftom home.
Dropped off the phone and the rep seemed to be quite familiar with the problem. She said its been fairly common recently. They ordered me a new phone for Thur. Im pretty happy cause this assurion refurb has been locking up and running super hot since I got it.

Did you have to pay the $100 or whatever the cost of the deductible is?
Ever since I flashed agats 0.6.2 kernel my battery icon blinks. An even after unplugging the phone it still says its charging. Even if I take the battery out for hours today and put it back in it says charging on the lock screen and if I try to turn on adb it says please unplug usb cord. And the other weird thing is soon as I put the battery in it boots up with out holding the power button.

If it's the same problem, I think it has to do with the charging circuits. My battery charged fine on an external charger. In fact at the Sprint store the were going to give me the old battery in my new refurb. Told them I didn't want it if there was a possibility the voltage protection was going bad, might have shortened its life.

It was pretty easy to return just had two go to a different sprint store to get the phone. I went to the store at the main campus in overland park. I like the white one it looks ok and no I wish I would have thought about asking for the battery I was just excited to be getting one that worked i didn't think about it. Would be nice to have an extra one. But when the lady was activating my new phone she asked if I had the charger, headset and box and everything and I don't have it she said don't worry about it so I got 2 chargers and 2 headsets now lol. Also yea that sucks the stock image is out now
Lol just saw that lame o well got extra stuff out of it and I really like the chargers they have longer cords than most of my other chargers.
Yeah, it would be nice to have extra charger. Ive been looking online and nothing. Sometimes I go spend the night at my moms or we go out of town and its nice to bring an extra one with without having to grab my own.

Let me tell you from experience that this A100 is **** unless you put CM10 on it.
Acer did a great job of ruining this tablet with their ICS OTA update.
If you have a blast with FCs and a boatload of app compatibility issues, namely HD/THD games that even my god damn LG G2x that's stuck on Gingerbread/CM7 will play, by all means stay stock.
Now if you want to see what the A100 is REALLY capable of, do some reading, pick ypur ROM, and flash your chosen CM10 setup once. It's not going to accelerate EMMC failure that much quicker and the performance and just in general useablilty gains are a great payoff.
Justjackyl's two cents here.

And the reason why, I think, is the work godmachine put in. The emmc cap erase work (or more not of) I think is why. When I switched recoveries and stopped running that glorious kernel, I think that's when it happened. SO IN CONCLUSION use his kernel and recovery religiously and I think you'll be OK. I might, probably, could be wrong but that's my theory. I did finally get the warranty taken care of and we sent it out Tuesday. So I might be back
