You mean the USB cable in the mains charger?
Sent from my ice cream powered Nexus S
On the Early G9 SD Models there is only the USB Port for charging,
I also have this issue, I've never had a charge that has been "normal"
But I have so many USB Cables about the original cable was probably lost long ago.
I will say this, When It goes completely flat, plugging it into the main is the only thing that brings it to life..... This does take hours however.
Any app to solve this problem?

you need to plug your tablet to the wall A.K.A. an AC jack/outlet not a usb port on your computer. Most USB ports do not supply the power required to charge the G9
I did that but it receive the same message
Is the charger damaged?

Most likely a sign that the port's on Its way to death. Mine did that around Febuary and then it started being weird and then it died completely. Still, my replacement has been dispatched now

Hi all,
Noticed that my power monkey doesn't charge my nexus anymore.
Is this to do with needing more oomph so to speak?
Cheers

Same issue. I've emailed PowerMonkey support - it's a bit puzzling because the USB spec only calls for 5V and 900mA and the powermonkey classic is rated to output up to 5.5V and 1.2A.
Is your powermonkey charger also the classic version?
Yes, it's the classic version.
They've now suggested using the female usb tip and the normal usb cable to see if that works. Will try it later but I know the micro usb tip isn't faulty as it works on other mobiles.

I need a longer charging cord. The factory cords they send with these tabs are wayyyyy too short. 5 feet or so would be perfect. Any recommendations?

Longer cables can be found on amazon and ebay. Here is a link to one example.

I guess I should rephrase. What longer cables have you all used that will charge the tab while using it. Most of the extended USB cables have terrible reviews because they can't supply enough juice. I see the cellet cable has good reviews but no numbers tossed around as to what its output is.

I use a regular, generic (female / male) USB extender cable, connected to the stock Samsung one. Works perfectly.

Ditto, mines only a foot or two longer and it is more than enough distance for me.
Why do you need the extra long cable?
A regular extender cable works likea charm...
Dx.com has a lot of those

Have any of you guys experienced the charging port on the bottom of the phone not working properly? Mine is not working reliably with numerous chargers. Was wondering if this may be a widespread issue or if it's just me
Only issue I had was that my phone would lock up using a SG3 charger so stopped using it.

I didn't charge last night and so I plugged mine in at work today with only 8% battery left. I checked it later and was down to 5%, my old Evo 3d charger didn't seem to do anything to it. I powered down, unplugged everything, removed battery and then reconnected and it finally started charging. It charges very slow at 1amp but it's charging now at least.

it really prefers the 2 amp charger... it's a phablet after all... try the stock or tablet chargers (with the stock cable) I bet they work wonders

+1 to this! I was having the same problem until I realized that the charger that comes with the phone is 2amp. As long as I charge with that or my touchpad charger, I am good to go.

I noticed that the port may be a little deeper than some cables allow for. I haven't had a chance to verify this, but you may want to check the cable you're using for a good fit.

The real problem is in the charger itself. I tried using an HTC charger and it was a no go. The stock charger is a 2 AMP version and that is the way to go. It actually charges quite quickly on the appropriate charger.

I've used Blackberry, HTC, Motorola chargers... all worked for me.
I've had my phone for about a week and I am also experiencing issues with the charger port. It happens randomly. I would connect the charger and it wouldn't charge but if I try again moments later, it will charge. I also experienced it go from charging to not charging, repeatedly. (My charger works fine, I tested it with other devices)

If it is not a 2amp charger, it is going to be an intermittent problem!
Using 4 different chargers on mine ranging from .5 amps to 2 amps. No problems charging.

Note 2 is designed to be charged with 2000mA current so it's OK if it's charged with 1700mA. Your original white cable is probably broken somewhat so your phone is lowering charging speed just to be safe.
I also had issues with the original cable, it's cheap and worthless! I almost updated my phone via kies with the broken cable, it disconnect spontaneously and repeatedly. I am using a 10 years old cable of a sony Ericsson phone.
Best regards

There is two pin near NFC contacts.
Il you connect 5V wired cable you can charge battery and shunt usb port.
if it is the micro usb on the phone that is banjaxed and it is to difficult/expensive to repair you could always get a back cover that supports wireless charging and a charging pad
Is it phone or charger micro usb problem? If phone port is out of order then you can buy dock battery charger and one spare battery . After charging put battery in phone and keep other battery for charging in dock. If cable is out of order then you can use other mobile microusb cable too as I am using LG phone charger. however one has to be careful as different adapters
you can get those wireless charging docks which uses NFC.
Thanks 4 all da support
