[Q] Kindle Fire stuck in FFF & Fast Boot mode - Kindle Fire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I rooted my KF with FFU .9.6 Everything was fine, I got AOKP M5 installed. However, it didn't seem to charge, even though the orange light was on. So it died. Now it goes from FFF to fastboot(kindle fire boot(in orange). I can't start it, or get it in recovery. I have tried re-installing drivers. I have tried Kindle brick utility. I can't seem to get it started. I have rooted previous mobile phones: og Droid, Droid X, and my current Galaxy Nexus. I have never bricked any mobile device. This Fire is driving me nuts. It is my second one. The first one would not charge, and this one does the same thing unless I wiggle the cord. Should I send it back to Amazon, they said they would replace it due to the charging issue(before I rooted it). PLEASE HELP

From your description it sounds like you need to try this:

Once you get everything in order, use recovery to install FFF1.4. That will enable you to charge your device in extreme low power conditions.
Also, AOKP M5 and other 3.0 kernel versions of ICS have charging issues. The charging indicator doesn't work, even if it is charging and sometimes it will only charge while asleep, but it's very intermittent. It charges fine in TWRP so if all else fails you can take that route.

I re-installed kfu .95. I re-installed FFF. This got me into recovery. Then I did a factory reset, installed AOKP M5, apps. Bingo, my fire is back from the dead. I have it charging with kindle fire wall charger. The orange light shows, but it does not say charging on the home screen.

It won't

Ok. It is really hard to get the Fire charging. I have to mess with the cord to get the orange light. Like I said this is my second one. Does anyone else have this issue?

Create a backup and switch to a cm7 rom to see if what you are experiencing is due to the device or the kernel. All 3.0 kernel roms have charging issues in some form or another, including the one you're describing.

Well, I figured out that under settings>device>battery shows charging, even though orange light is off. Actually when you turn on screen the led lights orange. Once the screen shuts off, the light goes off. But, is still continues to charge. Screwy.

Its charging the battery icon just doesn't indicate it but if you enable the battery bar and locate it above your nav bar and enable charging animation you will see it is charging

[Q] Flashed FFF 1.4a through TWRP without reading instructions..

I flashed the new FFF through TWRP as stated in the title of this post, but I didn't read any of the instructions which is sadly why I'm here now x.x...When I turn the kindle on, whether it's connected to my PC or if its connected to a wall outlet, the screen never turns on, but the power button light goes bright green for a split second, then bright orange, then it turns into a very dim orange and thats it, will anyone please help me on this on what to do?
How recently did you do this? A new version was released yesterday that was supposed to prevent that from happening.

Like half an hour ago :\ and, I made some food and came back to find the gedeROM booting, and as soon as it booted, it said Powering Down because the battery was too dead, then the kindle restarted and I took the power cable out, and it said Charging please wait, but thats it, that shows up for like a split second then the screen goes black again
EDIT - Sorry for being so paranoid, I ran over to check how my tablet was doing and I pressed the power button, and its successfully booted at 4% battery. I guess the battery was just THAT dead
Sorry, I misunderstood your post. I thought you meant you flashed the .zip through fastboot instead of TWRP.
But yeah, that's normal.
Charge it hopefully you'll be good

Kindle Fire Charging Infinite Boot Loop

I installed the AOSP JELLY BEAN 4.1.1_r1 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1765288) the other day and it was working fine. The problem is, I used it too much and the battery died on me. Fine. So I plugged it in to my pc via usb to charge it up. The Kindle fire boots to the TWRP triangle and then instantly shuts off. Well I thought maybe the battery is just really drained so I left it plugged in and went to work. Got home and it was still doing the same thing; boots to the TWRP triangle and then instantly shoots off and repeats. I unplugged the usb and tried using the outlet charger; same thing. Disconnected and tried to turn it on and nothing happens.
Figured I maybe bricked it somehow (even though i didnt update, delete, wipe anything). So I tried using the unbrick command lines...nothing. Tried the KFU cant find my device since it shuts off every 2secs.
I cannot figure out whats going on. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
Plug it into the charger and hold down the power button until it shuts off. Then wait for a 2-4 and check back on it.
Once it boots back normally make sure to update FFF and TWRP.
That didn't work. I plugged it in with the ac adapter and it wouldn't allow me to turn it off (i plugged it in then tried to turn it off). I let it sit for 8hrs and still boots up to the TWRP logo and instantly turns off and wont even turn on without it being plugged in. Thanks
Hold the power button down for 1 min it should shut off
it still does not work
Please post here some detailed instructions to turn on this device.
I'm tired of holding on and buttons in different combinations.
Sorry for bad English
If you have fff 1.4 a there really is no magic combination just simply power it off and plug it in via usb to your computer. If you do not have fff 1.4a then look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1623244
Did u leave it to charge overnight.. cos i also had the same problem, which i primarily due to low battery charge..
Connect it to the charger and let it charge if possible overnight.. then try switching it on.. it shd definitely work
Read the below link.. u will get an idea as to why it is happening

[Q] Help Fire doesnt seem to charge after rooting

I rooted my 1st Gen Kindle Fire, installed twrp, and fff, everything worked fine. I wanted to update my android sys so I could more easily use google play. I installed 4.2.2 but it would never boot up... just got to the colorful undulating lines continuously... so I restored back to my back up sys and everything was as it used to be, still rooted. Then I installed 4.2.1 and Id get to the colorful undulating lines but they would never switch to the welcome screen to allow me access. I would hit the button and they'ed switch to the new welcome screen with a low battery message and then go black. When I tried to charge... the light would go from green to orange, to a faint orange to black. It doesnt seem to be charging and I cannot get anything to boot up at all now...
HELP !!!!!

[Q] Stock KF stuck in boot loop - Win7 PC doesn't recognize KF

After searching and reading many threads and trying several "fixes", I think my last resort is this post (at least before I try Firekit or similar). I hope I didn't miss the one thread that has my answer.
Background:
Using Win7 64 bit
KF 1st gen (I believe)
Completely stock
Using Amazon KF HD charger and USB cable Amazon supplied when similar issue happened with our other KF (that new charger fixed that one)
Symptoms:
While plugged into the charger the green light will appear and a few seconds later we'll get the "KINDLE FIRE" logo on screen, sometimes it's animated and sometimes not. Sometimes the logo appears for about 5 seconds and other times about 30 seconds. When the logo appears the screen back-light first starts out low and then after a second or so it will brighten until the logo disappears and the KF appears to turn off, at least until some seconds later the green power light will come on and the process starts all over and keeps repeating. On occasion during the cyclic boot process I have seen the slide lock screen which was unresponsive and once I saw the screen with the KF device name, time, WiFi status, batt level (and no I didn't notice), etc. Lately I haven't seen either of those screens again, just the logo or nothing.
I've downloaded the Android SDK and installed the drivers but when I plug the KF into any of my USB ports the KF is not recognized. So if I can't get the PC to recognize the KF I can't go any further with trying to restore to factory default using TWRP or similar.
So my question is does anyone have something else I/we can try before moving on to Firekit? Thanks to all for your time and attention. BTW Amazon offered to sell me a new KFHD for $129 but I just don't have that in my budget right now so your help is much appreciated.

I appreciate the quick reply. So my follow-up is to say I'm using the USB cable that came with the Amazon charger they sent when having problems with our other KF. Is that not a "factory" cable? If not, do you have any idea if this one would work: ebay.com/itm/like/271275399661?lpid=82 ??? Or do I need to spend $17 on this one: amazon.com/Factory-Amazon-Kindle-Motorola-Tablets/dp/B00BPDH4G4 ???
Thanks again.

Yes 'factory' as in the one they use at OEM to install software.
Build Your own factory Cable is also an option if you can solder tiny things.

[Q] SM-P600 will not boot

On monday, the battery was low in my P600, so I shut it down and plugged it in. I tried to turn it on today and it won't turn on no matter what I try (holding power button for 2 minutes, download mode, recovery). Nothing happens at all, no display or sound. If I plug it in, I get a grey battery with spinning arrow that changes to a black screen, no matter what charger I use. It was running RaymanFX's CM12 unofficial build when it was working. Any way of fixing it, or should I look into a new tablet?
EDIT: A friend loaned me his Nvidia Shield charger (2.1A vs 2.0A). This allowed the device to get into recovery where I was able to reboot into Android. When it got there, it was at 1%, so my stock charger is likely dead or it doesn't work when my device is powered off (even though it should).
