[Q] Direct switching between 2g and 3g ? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hi guys,
is there any way to toggle directly between 2g and 3g without using the way over the settings-menu ? I've got a rootet device with 4.0.4 stock rom. On my modded xperia arc, with cyanogenmod, I was able to toggle directly via a switch on the notification bar.
Is there a zip-file or something like that which I can flash in order to get this function ? Btw, I want to keep my stock ROM.
I used the board search already, but I didn't found the info I needed for my GNex.
Thanks,
Mac

Unless you use a different rom, look for an app on the Marketplace.

Which one for me ?

Hi everyone.
Currently i have root slide rom installed and i need to update it because t-mobile came up with their update over network and this stupid message comes up every few hours.
Anyways those are my expectations:
- Basic fast rom.
- No extra crapware preinstalled.
- Needs to have newest radio.
- Wifi tethering.
- STABLE
Thats all i need.
Any recommendations as to which rom would be the best for me ?
Thank you !
I think that if tethering is a must have, you're basically looking at 2.1 roms.
I'd go with Slide MR1.
Thats the one i have no now. It doesnt include latest t-mobile update.
Any other recommendations ?
Ah, sorry about that.
I think your only other option would be one of the X to Slide roms. Any stock based you'll probably keep getting the update notification and 2.2 roms are iffy about tethering (at best) from what I understand.
You might want to search through the Slide MR or OTA rom thread to see if there's a way to prevent the update notification if you haven't already. (Though you probably have.)
You want the CR OTA MOD 1.35.531...that's the latest stock slide rom (plus root and a2sd) with the latest radio.

I think this is a good choice also
Slide reloaded is good as well it is a re-mod of CR's OTA

[Q] Tether Options

Greetings,
I'm currently rooted with my Sprint Galaxy S2, however the tether option isn't working. I'm using the ROM here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1609255) on my phone. Can anyone shed some light on this one? Just not available in this ROM or what?
Thanks,

Wired or wireless tethering? And to what?

Easy Tueffel. You can use the Foxfi (market) or Wifi Tether (search it) apps. If you use Wifi Tether, set the device profile to Samsung Galaxy nexus (CDMA/LTE).

I believe that you flashed a stock rooted rom that does not include the hacked tethering apps.
You may want to consider switching back to Gingerbread if you're just starting out.
Here are the steps for that:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24158551&postcount=9980
After that, you can flash a custom rom with wifi tethering already hacked.
Edit: The rom you downloaded is ICS based. If you're just learning about flashing your phone, you may want to switch over to Gingerbread based roms using the instructions I provided. It is far safer for a newbie NOT to try ICS until they're ready.
I'm currently running this GB Rom:

I wouldn't recommend trying to flash it directly unless you use the method above to get on the correct platform first. ICS and Gingerbread are different operating systems.

[Q] Lost a couple of features in the ICS to JB upgrade

Hi everyone,
I had a couple of root features that I used in ICS that I miss in JB (stock ROM with root) and can't get to work. I'm wondering if someone can help me out with alternatives.
(1) SD Card UMS (mass storage) mode: formerly provided by an app I downloaded here. The app doesn't work for JB and the author hasn't posted in a while, so something tells me I won't soon see an upgrade. Are there any alternatives for JB?
(2) Lockscreen NFC: Formerly provided by an app I got here. Tried to flash it onto JB, and it completely disabled all NFC capability. Any ideas how to make get this functionality back?
Thanks!
Wait for updates or switch to AOKP.

[q] how can i stop data drops on rom

Hello guys, i am on the last slim beam stable 4.3 rom 10/27/13 build.
The problem i am having is that i think i am suffering from data drops on the rom.
I noticed when trying to play my iheart and satellite radio. It would play and just stop.
I would see signal bars and the 4g symbol but no data. I thought it was my location so i restored my tweak rom backup and i had no problems with using either program. I like this rom so i am just wondering if it is something i could do to get past that issue.. Thanks in advance..

Check your APN settings and if they are incorrect or missing, add the correct info manually. If the slim beam rom is based on the 4.3 Samsung Touchwiz roms that have been released lately you need to flash the T889UVALJ1 modem for now until we get our update. (T-Mobile USA) - No LTE with this modem.

[Q] 3G/4G toggle for 4.2?

Is there a way to get a 4G/3G toggle for stock Jelly Bean?
Hi,
Dude , first thing you should move this thread to the s4 mini general, helps and tricks section...
The answer to your question... u should use Intelli 3g app, it will automatically toggles 3g/4g.... but you must be a rooted user to do that and you must installed the xposed framework in your phone...
If you are on STock rom means, you will have the option to change that in the settings-->mobile networks section....
Move the thread ASAP....
