[Q] Can't install update (Three UK) - HTC One X

Ok so I unlocked (via htcdev) the phone and stuck a stock ROM on it.
Everything works absolutely fine, but now 3 have begun pushing out the 1.28 update. So I re-locked the phone and tried to install the update.
I go through the usual routine...download, install now, phone reboots but then it automatically boots into fastboot. No matter what I do there, it won't install the update.
The fastboot screen does mention
*** RELOCKED ***
*** Security Warning *** <---- what is this about?

RADIO-None
eMMC-bootmode: disabled
CPU-bootmode: disabled
HW Secure boot: enabled
MODEM PATH : OFF

I then tried a factory reset via hboot, it then briefly shows the HTC splash screen and goes back to the fastboot menu. When I then boot the device up, I am still on the old (1.26) version and no factory reset has taken place (same when I try to factory reset via the GUI).
I am sure it's just a dumb mistake that I made somewhere along the lines, but I can't see it. Any ideas?
Also, am I too stupid to find it or does Three not provide a RUU on their website?

You need to...
1. Flash the stock recovery
2. Relock the phone
3. Run the 3 UK RUU
Then you should be able to get the OTA

Thanks, that did the trick!

NEED HELP Getting My One X Working Again!!! (Relocked bootloader issue) :(

Ok this is the story.
So I see there is a new custom ROM (HTC One maXimus) with Android 4.1.1 for the One X. I decide to root it.
However the ROM forum tells me that I have to install this 'PJ46IMG.zip' containing the new HBOOT 1.23 in order for JB to run on my phone.
Following the guide, I then start to un-root my One X, first installing the recovery.img file, then re-locking the bootloader using the 'fastboot oem lock' command.
This is the ISSUE!
When I tried installing the RUU version for my One X (I matched the RUU looking at the bootloader menu Radio version), it tells me that my phone is not connected to my laptop (when it clearly is?!).
This is exactly what the bootloader menu says:
*** RELOCKED ***
Endeavoru PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-0.94.0000
CPLD-None
MICROP-None
RADIO-1.1204.90.13
eMMC-bootmode: disabled
CPU-bootmode: disabled
HW Secure boot: enabled
MODEM PATH: OFF
My phone even says 'FASTBOOT USB'.
I can't seem to re-boot my phone as it always comes back to the bootloader, plus I get this "developer warning" message as the phone boots.
Also, whenever I try doing a fastboot command on my laptop, it's just stuck on 'waiting for device'.
IM LITERALLY STUCK GUYS! Just hoping there's someone here who knows exactly what to do
try rebooting your pc and bootloader

Hi, I did the exact same thing and faced the same issue. To resolve it, do one thing, just try unlock the bootloader again. And your phone will start working as before. For unlocking the bootloader you will need the Unlock_code.bin file which you used initially to unlock your bootloader. I hope you have the file. I was able to find it in my mailbox. HTC would have sent this file in email.
Let me know if I helped by clicking Thanks
So did you flash the stock boot.img before you relocked the bootloader? And your CID matched the prerequisites right?

Hi,
I have found the Unlock_code.bin file, but whenever I try to flash the fastboot command, it is still stuck on 'waiting for device'
What am I doing wrong?
Try a different USB cable or different computer

Hi,
Now I think about it, I only flashed the recovery.img
Plus, I did not have time to check the CID, because everytime I enter a command, it is just stuck on 'waiting for device'
You should have checked the CID first before you even started to do anything.
Reinstall a stock RUU and then try to unlock bootloader from there.
Got it working now !!
All I did was use a different computer and re-rooted it! Thanks for all the help guys!
Go to Fastboot

Are you on fastboot mode. Keep volume down + power button pressed for sometime and your phone will restart in Bootloader modem, you will be HBOOT, use the up and down volume keys to select fastboot, then press power button, your phone will switch to FASTBOOT from HBOOT. When you are in Fastboot mode, try running the command for unlocking.

Not able to boot after relocking Bootloader

Hey guys,
I got my OneX in April and rooted it directly when it became possible. I was running a Sense rom the last weeks and was absolutly happy with it.
But now i saw this rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1836919
JB is geat (already seen it on other devices) and I tried to flash it.
As the installation instructions told me I relocked my Bootloader. In the second I hit Return to execute "fastboot oem relock" my phone restartet to the bootloader. On the HTC Splashscreen it said something like "for development purposes only" in red below the green HTC logo (its too fast to read it carefully).
The Bootloader says the following:
Code:
*** RELOCKED ***
*** Security Warning ***

FASTBOOT
Im not able to boot anymore, not to Android and not into recovery. Everytime i get stuck in bootloader.
I tried to relock my bootloader again, but i lost my unlock code binary file i unlocked it with (didnt recognizes that earlier -.- )
On every fastboot command it stucks at < waiting for device > and nothing happens.
Is my phone bricked or is there a chance to get it back to life?
I hope you guys can help me, my HOX and me need your help.
Thanks for taking the time

PS.: Im sorry for my english, Im from germany
Run the appropriate ruu!
thanks for your reply
would this one be the right one for my Unbranded EU HOX:

Or is Radio/Firmware irrelevant and just the branding has to be the right one?
Sorry for asking, just want to make everything right now

firmware has to be the same or higher (you can't downgrade without S-OFF)

Al right, I've downloaded the RUU.
But I cant Install it on my phone. It throws Error 170 (no connection to the phone).
As is said in the first post, fastboot commands arent working, too....
This means:
-no recovery
-no adb
-no RUU
are there any other possibillities to get my phone back to life?

maybe try another usb slot, I've had it where just swapping slots as helped when trying to fastboot
Ok, I managed to get it back to life.
The problem was too easy:
For some reason an old driver version from HTCs drivers was still in my ram (didnt know that sth like that can happen oO ). And because of that I couldn't connect to the phone via adb/fastboot. I found that problem, because the device-manager said that there is this problem with my hox.
A simple system reboot (of my computer) solved the problem.
Thanks for all your help

100% reset Desire 820

Hi,
Is there any way I can 100% reset my Desire 820? Locked bootloader, original firmware, reset everything? Can I send it in to HTC or do it manually? My phone says it has Android 6.0.1 update available but when I try to install the update it boots into bootloader and bootloader says, instead of "Fastboot", "!! Image Update FAIL !!".
It says the Software status is Modified and the Bootloader is relocked. Pressing "Reboot" boots back into Bootloader (in Fastboot), same with "Reboot Fastboot". Pressing "Factory Reset" does nothing; it boots back into Fastboot and doesn't actually reset. The only way to get it to launch is to take out the SD card, press "HBOOT", and then press "CHECK SMARTSD", which causes it to boot. The information at the top of my bootloader is as follows:
*** Software status: Modified ***
*** RELOCKED ***

OS-2.10.980.4

I used this tutorial to attempt to root my phone - however, I had unfortunately updated my phone to Android 5.0.1, and I think this is for a different variant of the Desire 820. Mine is the Australian Dual-Sim Desire 820.
I return to my original question - is there any way that I can reset this phone 100%? Currently, pressing Recovery does nothing - it puts it back into Fastboot, and pressing it again does nothing. This is with the SD card out. With the SD card in, it won't even launch into HBOOT; it gives me an error: "Device halted due to Large Image update failed! Press <POWER> to reboot.". Can someone help? I've been trying to fix this for months and months.

Bricked One M9?

Hello,
I had CM 13 installed on my One M9. Yesterday I wanted to go back to stock ROM from HTC. I downloaded adb and fastboot and went to " fastboot oem lock" with cmd. This was part of a "tutorial" after this i wanted to run the RUU from HTC. But now the phone is stuck in the bootloader. I can go into bootloader or download mode but recovery mode is broken. "Failed to boot to revovery mode"....
From there I can only go back to bootloader or download mode.
In bootloader it shows:
*** Software status: Modified ***
*** Relocked ***
*** S-ON***
In download mode it shows:
hTC download mode
*** RELOCKED ***

OS-3.35.111.14
FEb 23 2016, 15:48:41(669696)
But the main problem is that i can't connect the M9 to my PC to use fastboot or the RUU... The phone will not be recognized. Strange thing is that it loads while connecting to PC but the LED is not orange, it stays black. When the phone is turned off the LED is turning on orange again and the phone is loading and shows it..
It seems that there is no OS installed anymore on the phone?
If it helps I have an SD card.
Please help me to get an OS running on this phone again!
Actual HTC drivers are installed. Tried on USB 3 and USB 2 Ports.

HTC One M8s starts fastboot and blocks ways to recover it

Hello everyone!
So. I have a HTC One M8s in my hands here. It was off for several months. I tried to start it and it fails. The only thing i get is the Fastboot. I can't even start Recovery or Factory Reset. I had other phones of this type in the past with a similar problem but it was possible to bring them back to life with ARUWizard (T-MOB101 mainver: 1.13.111.2). I had to do that in the past on this particular phone, too. I was able to unlock and relock it back in 2016. After using the ARUWizard it worked again for a while.
Here's what i see at the fastboot menu:
Code:
*** Software status: Modified ***
*** RELOCKED ***
*** Security Warning ***

OS-1.21.111.1
eMMC-boot 2048MB

FASTBOOT USB
I tried to unlock it again. I can start the unlock process with fastboot and the bin file. It restarts with the HTC logo and red warning text. After a few seconds it reboots with the normal HTC logo screen and goes back into the known fastboot menu. No change.
The ARUWizard doesnt work either. Usually it reboots the phone and start the process. In that case i see a different HTC logo with black background. But not now. When the ARUWizard reboots the phone it just goes back into the fastboot menu. Nothing happens.
How can i bring that phone back to life? I would be glad if you can help!
Greetings^^
