Hey People,
Just got my phone back from HTC service (had the 3 vibes issue). Looks like they actually fixed it since my screen protector was still on.
Here is where I am at, I have sucessfully Unlocked the bootloader using HTCDEV, and have also succesfully S-off the phone.
In the HBoot it currently shows:
***UNLOCKED***
MarvelC PVT ship s-off RL
HBoot - 1.10.0001
microp -0354
Radio -0.94.00.0109
April 17 2012
I was using the following thread for s-off and root:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1379543
I have tried using both SuperOneClick and Super tools V3 to root it but never works. I also have both the superuser app and busybox installed on the phone.
SuperOneClick hangs on rooting device step 7

Did you first try out Temp root and then Did the Permanent Root...???
See this thread, This may Help you

I am trying to do a Permanent Root.
I will try a temp root.
Also I did use that link even though Super tools states that it is rooted when I check the phone with Link2sd it states i have not been granted root access.
Mine did the same thing! I didn't have root but had clockworkmod on my phone, so I just flashed a new Rom with root and my phone wad rooted, superone click would not respond while trying to root. If I were you I would flash a new Rom called team blueridge 2.1 by simonsimons34, its a stock rom for virgin mobile but the bloated ware is gone and has a overclockable kernel so its fast, its the closet to stock, hope this helps!

Hey Android311 I ended up using the following thread to get it rooted:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1195275
At this point I am just manually removing apps I don't want.
I want to try that blueridge 2.1 rom but on the thread they don't explain how to install it. Also none of there links to download it seem to work.
Here is the link that i found for the blueridge 2.1 rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1598166
I also found this thread that seems to be what I want but again they don't explain what to do after you download the MarvelC zip file?

Im glad you got it rooted!
The FIRST thing you need to do is make a back up of your system in clockworkmod, to do that boot into clockwork mod and wipe dalivk cache and back up system then reboot.
To flash/install any rom follow these steps
-Download zip from the link given
-place zip into your SD card
-Boot into clockwork recovery
-Wipe cache, Format cache, Format system and Data
-Install zip from SD card and choose the zip that you download
-once done then reboot, your all done
Thanks everyone for all the help.
I finally got everything going.
Just took 2 or 3 tries.

Can I update this through Rom manager since after rooting the phone it won't update through Sprint .
Swyped From My Fully Rooted HTC Evo 4G Via XDA App.
if you already rooted and S-off, you can update to the newest Radio, PRL, and so on. What recovery are you using?
Here are the latest releases and make sure to read averythign carefully!!! I can't stress that enough.

I used UnrEVOked 3 & forever to get the S-OFF and if I'm not mistaken I'm using clockwork recovery .
So this means I can go to Rom manager & try to update the current Rom ? And I'm good ? Is it an alternative way to update after rooting ?

I will sugest using AMON-RA as your recovery. Do you have Rom manager on you phone?
To get the newest Update and still keep stock look Go here. do it as a whole package. Just downlaod the PCM36IM.zip and put it on root of your sd card, and reboot in boot loader and the phone will search for the zip file and ask you if you want to upate and he +VOL and it will update.

Because you have much less options if it's cdma
I own the exact same phone. I'll help ya out.
First, your gonna want to head over to HTCDev.com and unlock the bootloader. Then, head over to here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1074445
and download the MetroPCS RUU and flash it through Windows. (Make sure drivers for the phone are installed!)
Once you get the RUU up and running, head over here:
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?832o9otiu6713m8
and download insink71's custom MetroPCS ROM. (Has a2sd support, and is rooted!)
Afterwords, you can install a custom kernel to overclock. I reccommend Mindh4x8rs OC kernel.
You MUST flash the RUU before you can install insink's custom ROM! Hboot MUST be updated to 1.10.0000 for the ROM to play nicely, and the only way to update hboot is through the RUU.

looks promising
suggestions for OP or FAQ:
- can this tool unlock the bootloader?
- if yes what hboot versions does it support (i assume it would need to be an unlockable hboot with 'locked' in the top, like 1.08.0099 or 1.09.0099 for instance?)
may seem obvious to those who have experience with wfs, but can save a lot of time and questions if they are stated clearly.
i've been reading for AGES in these forums for an easy way to unlock bootloader, root, install cwm recovery, then custom rom for my sisters wfs, this may just be it!
so much easier on htc desire...
Thank you
I have encountered many bugs with visual UI, and pushes, etc..... So there will be a new update within three days, so stay tuned

I have Wildfire S AC10e (actually its AC10b as it has special frequency (i.e. 850Mhz))
Hboot: 1.03.0000
Android: 2.3.3
I have been searching everywhere to get it unlocked and such... but just can't
BTW I have noticed that you use taccoroot... I tried using a temproot that uses zergrush and it worked (until I rebooted as it is a temproot) so maybe you could use that to somehow unlock it or something... IDK as I am no developer

or is any option to upgrade HBOOT to 0.93?
Use official 2.3 HTC RUU, it will upgrade hboot to 1.02.0001 and you can then use revolutionary.

It even says on the alpharev webpage:
Requirements:
The only requirement right now is that the ROM you're running is rooted.
As techniques such as 'data2ext' have been popping up, these might disturb our finely-tuned flashing process.
Please revert to a rooted stock ROM if possible. Your /data partition is used for temporary storage of important files.

is released for HTC one V. Should be compatible with both primoc and primou versions. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO USE THE VERSION AT/NEAR THE BOTTOM OF THE DOWNLOADS PAGE THAT IS SPECIFIC TO THE ONE V. THE UNIVERSAL VERSION WILL NOT WORK.
Note, it is highly recommended (mandatory?) to be on a normal sense-based ICS rom and using an unsecure (preferably stock based) kernel. If you get poor results with other configurations, don't bother asking for help please!
Enjoy.
support is at #rumrunners on freenode.

BTW. The rom on this phone at the moment is myonev 3.5 with tk kernel
Funny how the PrimoU users have jumped on this first. lol
And, thank you for all the hours of beating on this phone
So, with a S-OFF device, we can install a ROM without using our PC to flash a kernel to it. This was a thing I loved so much with my old LG Optimus One (I see that device is still actually being developed actively). To test if this works, I just swapped over from MyOneV 3.5 (a 4.0.4 ROM requiring TK kernel) to Fabian's Mod, which is a continuation of CM 10 (a 4.1.2 ROM, requiring Hellboy CM 10 Kernel).
I have successfully booted into the ROM. No kernel push was required. Sweet!
does it flash a kernel in rom.zip automatically?

yes but often the kernel isn't upto date in the ROM zip because we've never been able to take advantage of S-OFF. As of the moment all my ROMs have S-OFF support except for MiDroid. NexusPrimo also has the wrong kernel included although it still boots with that kernel. All my other ROMs have updated kernels in them.
can anyone enlighten me to what is s-off?
Does having S-Off Device add any functionality ?
EDIT: Just for Confirmation..so that I don't Face any Problem... Do I need to Go back to stock rom and unroot the device in order to do S-OFF ?? And will Developing Custom ROMS on S-OFF device become easy ??
