this option only available if your exchange server support it.. i only know about this after our mail exchange server migrated to different one. so i guess if it's grayed out, i suppose it's setting on your exchange server. alternatively, you can install third party email app like nitrodesk touchdown which work very well on html viewing..

Thanks, I wonder why it works on third party apps, and on iOS devices.
I prefer the default mail app as its much better in my opinion, lets hope that IT decides to migrate to exchange 2007 or above any time soon.

Multiple Exchange E-mail Accounts on HTC Sense Froyo?

Does anyone know if it is now possible to add multiple Exchange based e-mail accounts (Exchange ActiveSync) using the default e-mail app on HTC Sense Froyo?
I know n the Eclair Sense ROM it is NOT possible, and I was wondering if this had been addressed in the 2.2 update?

Pretty sure it doesn't. Most things don't allow for more than one to be connected. The iPhone doesn't either. I don't know for sure, but it may be a licensing or some other agreement that prevents this.
It doesn't. Stock froyo does. Ios 4 does. Palm pre does. HTC screwed up on this. Go use k9 mail... erg two programs to so the same thing... very annoying HTC!

Last time I tried K9 the exchange integration was really bad - in fact, I couldn't even get it working. Has this changed recently?
iOS 4 actually has support for multiple exchange accounts.

The Iphone does, and so does the Samsung Galaxy S - It is a OS issue not a license issue.
You can if its enable add IMAP accounts, but this only works if you allow the protocol on your exchange box

EMail App like HTC

I've come from owning an EVO 3D and the email client on that phone was second to none it did exactly what i needed out of an email client.
I've tried every single email client out there and notthing comes close to it besides the stock email client on JB but even that is lack luster if terms of features.
K-9 - won't work with exchange 2010
EE - works great to a point but with Push email on my phone heats up and drains my battery in like 5 hours, and i need instant email.
TD - Won't allow me to use 2 profiles at the same time.
Anything else i've tried doesn't have the features i need like the HTC client did.
Porting the email client over i realize is probably not gonna happen so.....I really like the nexus but I'm not sure what i can use.
Bit of an email background how i use it.
2 Exchange accounts, both have multipul folders i need synced and seen in the combined view area. 7 folder on one and 2 on the other.
I also have a support email i send from and when replying to an email need to select that email account to send from. (just used for sending email doen't come to this mailbox it comes to my main one.)
WHAT TO DO!!!!!
i absolutely love touchdown for my work exchange email, lets me sync specific folders and i can use push or set my refesh times as well as it has a nice widget for showing my next upcoming meeting and what meeting room it is in.
nvm, just saw u said td didnt work for what you wanted >.<
Have you tried maildroid? I don't know if it will do what you want, but it's worth a shot!
Yeah tried mail droid also. That didn't do what I wanted either.

For sure you looked in all the settings? I find it hard to believe that not one of those programs can do what the stock HTC app can.
I've looked in all settings in all programs. EE was the closest to what i wanted but couldn't bare with the battery drain.
I've been at this for 2 weeks. Installed every email app out there. And I did have an X10 a bit ago. But I did use TD then but only had 1 exchange email, now I have 2.

It's been a couple months of searching and barring with the stock asop email client.
I am now at the point of asking for the help of a dev to please help me and port the HTC email client to be used on asop.
There has to be some way of doing so... So that the sense framework will not be needed.
any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

any ideas on this? Just got the Nexus 7 2013 and can totally understand your pain. What app do you use? Or is there a way of rooting the Nexus and putting a sense rom on it?

I've come to the conclusion we most likely won't get anywhere with with trying to port an app over. But the closest I've gotten to the HTC email is Enhanced Email.
I've also contributed some suggestions there to help make it as close to HTC email as it will be. Good Dev there too. Making good progress on updating the app.

Best email app

For some reason I've never really liked the gmail app.. for the past year I've been using k9 email but I'm looking to switch it up. Anyone have good recommendations?

Mail Droid has served me well. Decently robust and handles imap nicely.
Recently I came across aqua mail. This is an amazing app that I bought the very next day after using it for a day. (u don't need to buy it though it's fully functional without that).
Do give it a try, you'll love the awesome features in it.

My vote for Aqua Mail as well... HOWEVER, there is no great email client.
Installed aqua mail for about 2 mins until I saw it had no pinch to zoom feature. That alone wouldn't be so bad, but when HTML emails come through huge and you can't resize them to see without scrolling...that was a deal breaker. Gmail app works just fine for me
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
I found Aqua mail had some formatting issues on some email. The pictures would be Xed out or something. Plus it has no ability to connect Exchange accounts. I changed my email to using Gapps For Your Domain as per someone on here saying it was great and it is, only it's exchange email. Most free ones don't work with exchange so I'm back to default and Gmail. I would be totally willing to pay $3 to $5 for an awesome email client but there is no way I'm paying $20. There's two real good ones for $20 I believe.
check out Emoze
I had issues with weird behavior of the push and sync and I installed Emoze Push client which gives me the ability to push any type of email ,obviously Exchange and IMAP but even POP3 which is very limited email protocol.
I've done benchmarks with the stock ICS email client and with several third party clients like Touchdown, Moxier, K9 and I find that Emoze has the advantage in almost every aspect.
Push notification is stable and fast ,less than 60 sec.
Battery consumption is low ,I’m able to work in push mode without charging for 22 hours.
I’m quite a heavy email user so it was kind of a surprise to me because I used to have 6-8 hours max with only one account working in push.
I have 5 email accounts which is about 100-200 email per day so no kidding ,this one really improved my life ,I’m less paranoid about my battery.
Other features which are quit useful are the security options that allows you to find the device location by SMS or email
and also to remote wipe or block by SMS.
This is cool because you don’t need PC connected to the internet to get the job done ,you can simply send SMS to your phone number to activate the security process.
AquaMail - definitely!!

If you don't need exchange, AquaMail is definitely my recommendation. Also highly recommended buying the Pro key. The developer is FANTASTIC about implementing good suggestions as well as fixing reported bugs. Like you, I've been using K9 for quite some time and while I still have it installed and I keep updating the development versions, - and yes, I have to admit it's getting better and better - I never found reasons to ever go back to K9. AquaMail offers (common sense) options that K9 is still lacking: full screen - especially useful in landscape mode, far superior selection options as far as the email lists, much better menu icons selection & options, optimizations for low traffic data are merely a few examples of why you should try it. Once getting used to the rather extensive settings and customize it per your liking, you may also find your own reasons to stay with AquaMail. :good:
P.S AquaMail has its own page and forum - very informative and if you feel like contributing with suggestions or bugs, this is the place. Also here I found out that there were plans to eventually implement the exchange, however, Google's recent announcement to stop supporting exchange might change that.
Never experienced any pictures formatting issues or any other issues.

Checking all email accounts in Combined View

I have 7 different email accounts for work and home etc etc...
Its getting really really annoying to have to go into each to check the mail from that account.
Is there anyway check ALL email accounts at once from Combined View?
Seems like a hell of a thing to overlook.
Just noticed i put this in the wrong forum, my fault...Mods please move to correct forum.
Thank you and my apologies .

Been using k9 for a few days now. Like it. Its good. Kind of a shame that the stock email doesn't do it and we have to download another program for a simple thing like that. The program is a little choppy getting through all my mail, but I have tons of mail I haven't gone through yet.
Hopefully Google will change their mail app to include this feature at a later date.

Cool thing about k9 is that is actually built on top of the code for the stock email app. Improved if you will.

Just like how windows comes with WordPad for word processing but if you need anything more you buy office.
Stock email app works for most people. I have gmail and corp email and I like to keep them separated. My blackberry would combine emails and phone calls and messages and I hated it. I like keeping everything separate.

using Newton for exchange email. honestly everything else feels incomplete - Newton has the feel of a polished iOS app. Gmail and the official Outlook app both had issues with push service not working - i'd only get new emails if i refreshed the inbox
having said that, Newton is yearly subscription for $50, so it's more than justifiable for me in a work capacity
I'm using aquamail and love it. I have it configured for exchange and Gmail. Interface is good and intuitive with great support for composing emails with attachments and pulling contacts from exchange server whether it's personal or from the GAL.
Trying aqua but it's not working with my work email

If you haven't already tried, you might have to set up a work exchange account manually. A lot of workplace and institutional exchange accounts use specific servers (not the generic Exchange or .live domain), ports, security, etc.
In most instances I've had to enter the smtp server manually, with the correct port and what not. This goes for several occupations I've had and even while I was attending school. You might be able to grab the settings logged into your exchange email at work or just hit up your IT guy and he should be willing to set it up for you.

Hmm.. There must be an option during setup that some apps might have and others don't. Shame, it's a nice email app...
I use Type Mail which used to be called Blue Mail.
I originally installed Blue Mail.
Then one day it updated itself via the Play Store updates and was suddenly "Type Mail".
Oddly enough, it looks like Blue Mail is still out there and being updated.
So IDK what happened there.
Both LOOK like the same exact app.
---------- Post added at 10:33 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:27 AM ----------
This thread made me finally get off my butt and email Type Mail with a support question:
Hi Folks,
First, I have a question. This was originally Blue Mail and then changed it's name to Type Mail overnight. But Blue Mail is still available on the Play Store. Are you the same app?
Okay, here is my issue that I hope you can help me with.
And I've had this issue on two phones, two OS's so far.
A Moto X Pure on Lollipop and now a Google Pixel on Nougat.
I did not have this issue on Marshmallow.
So, I disable "Battery Optimization" from TypeApp.
But Type App still seems to go into too deep a sleep?
If the phone has been sleeping for an hour and someone sends me an email, then Type App will not recognize that email and wake the phone.
It seems to only poll for email once every couple hours or something?
I've always used the "push" option when given a chance.
Thanks for the great app, please let me know if there is anything that can be done to ensure I am notified of emails more quickly.

Technically, I think the thread goes in Q&A since it's a question.
Themes is more for where you go to post themes for download or mention how much you like a theme/app.
Used to use Blue mail but moved over to Aqua it works great. You should really check their privacy statements and judge for yourself, that is the reason I switched.

I actually moved from Aqua to Blue because Blue worked better with Push notifications.
How is Aqua & Push doing for you? I have hotmail/live/yahoo/gmail accounts.

I use it for all the same types of accounts except for Gmail and the push is working fine via IMAP. What I like is the ability to use an email alias within the Aqua app, paid version of course.
