Could be a faulty charger.. try USB charging.
If it doesn't work, flash stock(and reset custom bin count) and take it to your service center asap.
it happened to my phone last month
i inserted my usb jig and the usb jig male connector is broken. Then, when my phone is low batt. I charge it. And i was shocked it was not charging, connected to pc nothing happens, So what i did is cleaned the usb female and reinsert the battery.
its now working...i dont do anything after 2 days (battery fully drained) i try to charge..then voila!!!working...thanks for your response....

Well first it seems my phone is not able to charge anymore... (Not even with the .bat file it just loses power when I try that)
Some times it manages to retain some charge but it goes away really fast when the screen is on.
I have no time to flash the device due to the low battery and super fast battery drain.
The sd seems to fail randomly, some times it is recognized, some it is not.
When you plug the phone to the usb in a pc a message USB device could not be recognizes appears some times (not always).
Blinking red light some times, never goes to green, eventually goes to solid red but doesn't charge enough to flash it.
Could the battery problem be software based? Actually it has no OS, Andriod flashed, no boot and only recovery is cloclwork latest version.
Any suggestions here? Everything is appreciated since it may be dead... I want to test anything and well tell you what happened, at least use it for science =P
Go into recovery and charge from the mains with the original charger.
What happens?

I'm trying to charge it and now using the .bat method but it won't go over 3565mV which is not enough to flash it. =S Dunno if letting it connected charges even if there is no notification at all.
And I've tried that and after turning it on and checking it never goes above 3.5 and I read I needed at least 3.68, what can I do? reset battery stats? or something else? Can I charge the battery directly? like with some cables?
And also, the red led doesn't turn on. If I plug it toa pc it sounds like an usb is connected, but no led light. What can I do then?

I had the exact same prob. Change the USB Cable and/or the PC u are using. Mine was stuck at 3588mV. The cable of the SGS2 did the trick for me. It was my friend's!

That's an interesting option I'm gonna try it, but I think it may not work because I tried to charge it at work with 3 different cables and chargers and no luck still. Buy maybe it was just the fact that between the time I charged it at work and got home it discharged, I'm trying this tonight and tell you what happens.
No luck still, stuck at 3557mV and won't let me flash it.
Sometimes the phone even freezes in fastboot after some command tried.
How can I charge it then?
My ATT Note 2 took a turn for the worst when I went to charge it tonight. I installed the Jedi-x rom about a month ago and had a couple issues every now and then getting it to charge, but nothing a reboot would not fix.
Now I can not get it to charge at all or connect to my computer.
My fiance has a note 2 as well, her cable/battery/and everything will not charge it either.
I have flashed Blackout
I have flahed the stock i317 kernal
i have reset battery cache in recovery
The device does detect when in download mode. Also with the phone off, when plugging in the power cable, the little red light does flash faintly. What would I have to flash to get back to 100% stock or fix this issues with not charging?
Update: Did a full Odin Firmware reset and still was not able to get a charge or any activity computer wise besides in Download/Odin mode.
Have you tried re-installing Samsung Drivers?
Also does your GF have the same issue with her Note 2 not charging on your PC?
When you plug your Note into another PC, does it charge?
If not, then it might be your charging port (on your Note 2)

Sorry, it's late when I was typing this, her's DOES charge. I used her phone to test my cable and battery, and it does work. What gets me is download mode works. I don't know if it's a separate thing for charging, but it worked fine the other day.
No other PC charges
No other wall place charges
No other cable charges
No other battery charges
Sounds like the charging port, a known issue with the first note. I would be taking it back to where you bought it.

Yeah seems like a defective charging port.
Or make sure the Micro USB port on your device is clean. You can try some compressed air to make sure there’s no dust in there blocking the connection. If it doesnt help, then return your device to the Place of purchase for a possible replacement.
If it's the charging port then you should be able to test it by moving the cord up & down and back and forth and it should hook up at some point.

Did what all of you suggested, and ended up sending it back. Then last night, I was like "eh I'll try it again" plugged it in, and it instantly started charging. So, whatever, I sent it back anyway. Thanks for the ideas guys.
Hi,
Yesterday my new (~2 months old) Note2 stopped charging. tried 2 different chargers, 2 different cables connected to PC. No reaction (no beeps, no led, battery icon not changed to flash).
Tried removing and putting the battery back in. No change.
On the other hand, when connected to the PC, the PC identified the connection and allowed file transfer. Later the battery died completly. I succeeded in booting to download mode, and again PC identified the USB device.
Switching the phone on with no battery gave no results either (would not turn on).
This leads me to a conclusion that the USB port is probably OK. Could it just be a dead battery? (according to its label, the battery was made on Nov 29th, 2012).
I will be able to switch battery tomorrow with another Note 2. Anything else I can try till then?
Using custom recovery and stock rom.
Thanks in advance,
Idan

Yeah, with or without battery... no reaction from the phone.
Have you tried a lower powered device to see if that works? Some usb ports don't have full power output, as some laptops portray.

I've tried 2 USB ports on a desktop PC. didn't work.
I've connected it without the SIM and SD to an old nokia charger (0.7ma), no sign of a change but after ~ 1 hour I noticed the red led turned on - turning the device on showed 44% charged.
Now I am too puzzled. any ideas?
This is exactly what happened to me. .. it was the motherboard. I brought an external battery charger, charged the battery full so I could use the phone. Then used triangle away and odin to flash stock rom, and sent it in for warranty service. This seems to be becoming a common fault with the note 2 now....ive seen a few thread recently.

Hey there, my sgn2 n7100 had the same problem before, I tried everything, even disassembled the phone apart, but it was still won't turn on or charge, won't be recognized by pc or Mac. One day when I repaired my mom's iPhone 4 touch screen, I found out that the USB port was so dusty. I thought may be it's all because the USB port was dusty then I picked up my sgn2 and used a soft tooth brush with a little pure alcohol to clean every corner of the USB port. Guess what? After 15 minutes I connected my phone with the USB wall charger, my sgn2 just started to charge again. Trust me guys, try to use a soft brush to clean the USB port before you give your phone to the repair store or somewhere else. Good luck!! Hope it helps.
Same here, i manage to purchase note 2 for 300 euros! And when I put it to charge nothing!I went to download mode and then turn it on normal and its charging! Also happend the same with my s3 so eighter its a charging problems or seems to be one software issues
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
@scufutz I could guarantee the symptoms described by the OP is NOT software issue, as I have an N7100 with same problem and I managed to flash new kernel and still it does not charge even powered off. Download mode connects perfect.
I'll check if this cleaning method, or if its a circuit prob.
Hello,
This problem started recent, that i can not charge my phone
when i plug it to my computer the charging led does light up,
it says charging on the screen but percentage does not increase. It decreases like it is unplugged.
If i plug to a wall charger, same thing happens (And even sometimes it doesnt say charging while on wall plug"
if I plug my note 2 to my laptop, the device does not show up on "my computer"
I'm pretty sure this is a software issue. This happened after I changed my ROM (This --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2722002)
I tried to calibrate my battery with an APP but problem still exits.

UPDATE
somehow I was able to power the device without the battery, it was just plugged.
I was able to see Samsung screen. So, my device does receive power/current from the cable but does not charge
Please help me, I'm tried to swap batteries

First clean your usb port contract
Second Always Use LG/BlackBerry/Sony USB cables instead of samsung one.(specifically for N7100)
Giving suggestion from my personal experience.

Hi. I have note 2 n7100 with stock 4.4.2 United Kingdom BTU rom.
Before a year I was make a root with 'kingo root' app and all was ok
Today. After the device came slow and out of space (apps. Files..) I decided to clean him fast. After short backup for files contacts and what need. I turned off the device. And from boot made a wipe data.
After wipe the device work good. And kingo root too. All looks fine. Have root.
After some hours kingo root sent notifications about problem. I try to check it. And the app running the install root screen. After finish. The device turned off and the light flash in blue and white.
In this step. Maybe I was need wait.. But after some minutes I tried to reboot with long press on power button. The light turned off. And the device doesn't respond any more..
Have something to try or it's dead?
*checked another battery
**not responding for charging
Connect the phone to a windows pc and look for any new or unknown devices in device manager. Let us know if anything is detected.
Hi. The pc doesn't detect anything.
Running windows 10. Maybe need driver's?
In general, you need Samsung drivers. Install those and check back with Audit13.
Damn, just noticed you said "checked another battery". If that is true, then forget all the stuff I say bellow, which is to make sure that the battery is not the issue here.
Could be a bootloop cycle that finishes the battery before it has a chance to charge. Remove the battery, hold power for 10 secs, replace battery and try to charge it. If this doesn't work then try to isolate if the problem lies in the battery itself. Check it with a multimeter, if volts are low there's your problem. Either the battery is fully discharged, or faulty. Amps are a bit tricky but can be checked with a multimeter if you have the phone request power and measure it at this moment (the multimeter must be set for Amps and the red cable probe must be put in the 10A port). If volts are ok but Amps are low then battery is discharged or faulty.
So empty battery and won't charge. Try a different charger if you have one and/or a different USB cable. Try a computer USB 3 port and cable as it gives more Amps.
Try to charge the battery alone with an external battery charger, those usually show the charge % as well.
If you don't have any of these, strip an old USB cable. Put the red (+) cable in the positive lead of the battery, and the black (-) in the negative lead, and have it sit there for 2 or 3 minutes. This is dangerous for the battery, so touch it at all times to check its temperature (If it heats up suddenly remove the cables, battery is probably faulty). The battery should be charged a bit now, if that doesn't turn on the phone then at least you know for sure that the problem is not the battery.
I lnstalled Samsung drivers. Doesn't matter.. No any response
Thanks. But no. It's doesn't the battery. The volt good (4.04v). And checked with more battery fully charged..
You may have a defective USB port. Try forcing the phone into download mode with a USB jig.
I don't think that is USB because the device was in charge before and never was problem with it.
About this jig. I found info here on xda about how to build one. But where I need find this resistors?
You can just buy a USB jig from ebay: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Fix-Micro-US...931845?hash=item463b6120c5:g:fHkAAOSwFnFV8QBM
Yes. But the time.. Shipping can take months.. So I prefer to built one. I know to do that. But need the part
OK. Update..
After check on some local labs. Found one with USB jig. Connect. But still nothing. No response.
Some labs say that the flash memory dead. (fix is about 75$. Good?). And some say that have option to use device that connecting to motherboard and can flash to to memory in force. But not sure that it's work.
So now the device in lab. Wait for answer.
Update (last I think)
The motherboard doesn't respond for anything..
Need to replace the flash memory. Or motherboard.
