Free google wallet money - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Can this money be spent on the google play store to e.g. buy apps? Or is it for NFC purchases only?

NFC only unfortunately.

NFC only. Maybe we'll see Play Store Gift Cards in stores

NFC only. They're actually trying to get you to use Google Wallet, not just buy apps.

Netflix
Netflix is cheap in US, Canada and Latin America. Coming to the UK next year. But it is not buying films on per film basis and for downloading them to keep on your device. You pay a monthly fee and can stream their library online.
Demonoid is pretty cheap
You can rent films in the android market in the uk so I just use that...

I'm guessing he's like me and he doesn't live in UK or US,and you cant use market unlocker on the market movies since it reads your IP and credit card info...
So is there any workaround or a proxy or something?

Try a VPN, Though streaming it will be useless. Otherwise I don't know sorry, and if the VPN works you would need a British or American Credit card to buy them I think.

[Q] Anyone buy their unlocked GSM from Amazon?

Right now, I'm seeing a "like new" version for $389 and free shipping. The seller reviews are fantastic. Just wondering if anyone else went this route. I'm looking to save a couple of bucks and going this route would save me close to $50 compared to the Google Play store.
Thanks!
Potential Problems:
Like New Devices = refurbished.
I.E. the original owner didn't like it or had problems.
OR the manufacturer found "no fault" and they're completely the same as the device that was returned.
Personally...
$50 to me doesn't seem like much when I'm potentially going to keep the device for two years.
hmmm....those are good points.
All good points. Not to mention that Google Play will give you a US warranty.
Yeah, the only thing about Google Play is that they don't take multiple forms of payment. I was planning on using $75 in AMEX gift cards, something I can do at Amazon (if I purchase Amazon GC's with the AMEX GC's). I may look at a new GNEX from Amazon though.
I wonder if you could call in the order and use multiple cards? They have an actual customer service number now. Worth a shot. I'd definitely get the play store one over an Amazon one.
Yeah, I already tried unfortunately. It all has to be on the same card.
well I'm assuming you'd end up using the AMEX gift cards eventually on something else... unless they're expiring soon I don't see the reason to worry about using them on the Nexus specifically.
Oh, and just because you buy an actual brand new one on Amazon still doesn't mean you get a warranty. You'll only get a US warranty on the Play Store.
Thanks for the info guys. Google Play does look like the way to go.

Google Wallet Credit if Purchased from Play Store?

Ive been hearing a lot about getting wallet credits when you buy a Galaxy Nexus device. Are these just from carriers or are they also being given out to purchases from the Play Store? I picked one up yesterday and was just curious. Thanks
You receive 10 bucks when you activate it on your phone.

Purchase 2 chromecasts and get $12 in play credit ($6/chromecast)

Purchase 2 chromecasts and get $12 in play credit ($6/chromecast) - Works for chromecast audio too.
It's US only and I'm not sure if it's still working. Some are reporting it's working and others didn't receive the promotion.
