everything is gone. I followed steps 1-5 and nothing worked. then I read the part about "must have SD partitioned using amon-ra recovery" which I did and now everything is gone! nothing on my SD card and no ROM. what do I do???
DIRECTIONS COPIED BELOW, NOT MINE JUST COPIED AND PASTED
*Must have sd partitioned and using Amon-Ra Recovery!! Link Below to the correct one to use. Rename to PC36IMG.zip
Place PC36IMG.zip on root of sd card, then power off phone and hold the vol- and power button down until hboot loads. It will automatically scan for this and ask you to flash it, flash it and then boot into recovery to assure it worked.

Partitioning ur SD card formats ur card, u should have made a backup on ur PC beforehand. Sorry for ur luck. Just redownload whatever rom u want and place it on ur SD card and flash like normal.

wait..so was your SD partitioned? installing a custom recovery will not partition it for you.
you should have a recovery installed, copy your sd to the computer (to save everything as partitioning will erase it), partition using said recovery, install ROM

You only need to partitioned your sd once. Place the rom zip on the root of your sd card. In recovery wipe everything, But the sd card (as this is where your rom is). Choose flash zip from sd. Let it do its thing. Then reboot. You should be good.

Ok we are gonna take some steps here and get your problem solved,i know you probably did some of this, but we are gonna start over.
1)Go here and follow these instructions.... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1158993
2)If youve done that, then go to your bootloader, you should be able to get there from your recovery,if not turn off your phone, then turn it back on while holding down on your volume rocker, you will go to the bootloader.
3)Once in bootloader, scroll to hboot usb, make sure you have HTC sync installed on your pc.
4)Once your phone connects to your pc,open it up and you will be in the root of your sd card,go here.... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=715938&highlight=Dark+Tremors+A2SD and install this.
5)before you have installed DT's Apps2sd,create new folders on your sd card, drag and drop the rom of your choice onto your sd card also.
6)Now go disconnect from your pc and reboot into your recovery, wipe everything but your sd card and install the new rom.
You should now be golden.

My son rooted his EVO using unrevoked 3 and it worked fine until he created a custom rom when it loaded it wiped out his operating system and didn't load. Now his phone is stuck the boot loader screen. Can someone please tell us how to fix the phone if you need more info just let me know and I will get it. Thanks for any help!
Did he make a nandroid backup? If not here is some advice: Ok, first go into bootloader, hit recovery then hit wipe data/ facotry reset (something to that effect) wait for it to finish and try a reboot. If that doesn't work, take out the micro sd card, insert it into your computer and download a stock rooted HTC evo rom (should be a zip file, don't extract!). Once done downloading, place it on the root of the micro sd.then put the sd back into the phone and boot into recovery again. Once in recovery, hit the install zip from sd and the hit choose file from sd. Find the file you downloaded and hit enter. Wait for it to install and reboot the phone. It should run properly again if these steps were done correctly.

You're on the right path but a bit off track.
Just use #1 if you have access to Recovery. Just read #2 so you have the correct illustration of what boatloader looks like vs recovery. (The post above was confusing)
#1. Make sure you have a rooted version of a stock ROM on the root of your SD card. If you do not, read the later part of #2.
Next, for to wipe and the wipe data, cache, and dalvik 2x..
Then, flash rooted ROM from the zip. Test...see if it works... if you tried over a dozen times with problems... then try #2.
If you had created a NANDrois back up as the root suggestions imply the here is where yo can restore nanderois as well.
If this still does not resolve the missed, you can try #2 or learn how to flash RUU.
#2. The white screen with the android on the skate board is the boatloader. When your EVO is yrunes off, you can access this by pressing and holding power+volume down. Remember, this is the bootloader.
Now, you can put a rooted pc32 zip in the root of the SD card by either removing the SD card from the phone and using a micro SD card reader.
Or, you can go to the bootloader screen then you can select recovery and go to recovery.
From recovery, toggle to USB and then push it copy the pc32 zip to the root of your SD card.
Once you have the zip on the SD card, turn off your phone or ADB command a reboot bootloader. Press yes to flash thepc32 zip
Did this work?

Are you having trouble installing ClockWorkMod?
You click “BOOT AD SD” in MAGLDR and the screen flashes up with an error quickly and returns straight abck to MAGLDR main menu?
This guide is for you.
NOTE: I’m sure there are plenty of other methods which also work, but this method worked for me so I figured I’d see if I can help a few people out. Please don’t post if you are just going to have a whinge about your method being better than mine. I'm not interested in debates. I am however happy for people to post if they have a method that they have found successful. Once verified, I will update the OP.
Before we begin, I take no responsibility for any damage to your device or loss of important data.
Using this procedure will wipe your memory card so BACK UP your files first.
You will need:
• A Windows PC running XP or greater.
• A MicroSD reader (I have had issues with mounting my SD via the HD2 using MAGLDR, you might find it works fine for you, but I strongly recommend using an SD Card Reader.
• A copy of SD Formatter (free).
NOTE: If you have been using APPS2SD+, you are going to lose all your apps performing this procedure. I strongly suggest using a program like Android Commander to pull the APK files off your phone. You can then copy them back and re-install everything once Clockwork is working. ☺
OK HERE WE GO….
PHONE SHOULD NOT BE CONNECTED TO PC VIA USB UNTIL STEP 9.
1. Shut down your phone and take out the SD Card.
2. Insert the SD Card in to your card reader and plug it in to your computer.
3. Load “SD Formatter” and select your SD card from the “Device” drop down menu.
4. Click on the “Option” button and choose “Full Erase” and set “Format Size Adjustment” to “ON”. This will ensure that any previous partitions will be removed correctly. Click OK.
Don’t be alarmed, we will create a new EXT partition later on for APPS2SD+ ☺
5. Click “Format” and wait for your SD card to finish formatting. Time will vary depending on the size of your SD Card.
6. Now your SD card is formatted, copy the Clockwork “initrd.gz” and “zImage” files to the root of your SD card.
7. Copy the zip ROM of your choice to the SD card.
8. Put the SD card back in your phone and boot into MAGLDR by holding down the power button while powering on.
9. Flash the Clockwork Partition system to your phone in the usual NAND manner. When the phone reboots, disconnect it from the PC (unplug the USB cable and hold down the power button to boot back in to MAGLDR main menu. For more information on flashing NAND ROM's, BROWSE THESE GUIDES
10. Select “BOOT AD SD” from the menu. If you have followed this guide correctly, you should now be in ClockWork Recovery ☺
At this stage the process will vary depending on the style of ROM you wish to use. If you want to use a ROM which supports APPS2SD, you will need to create a new EXT partition on your SD card using the partitioning tool built in to ClockWork Recovery. If you do not wish to use APPS2SD, you can just go ahead and flash the ROM zip.
IF YOU WANT TO USE APPS2SD:
1. Use the Partitioning tool built in to ClockWork Recovery to create the partitions for you. Instructions for this can be found HERE.
2. Once partitioned, remove the SD card from your phone and insert it into your card reader. Copy back the “initrd.gz” and “zImage” files to the root of your SD card, along with the ZIP ROM you desire to use.
3. Put the SD card back in your phone, reboot the phone and flash the zip ROM of your choice.
DONE!!
I hope this guide helps a few people who were completely stuck with ClockWork as I was.
If this has helped you, please click on the Thanks button.

reserved.... Hopefully you can all help me keep this guide up to date as new versions of MAGLDR and ClockWork are released.

And for nand 1024 t-mous ??
No boot tooooooo
Same method is mentioned in other tutorials so what's new in it?Most of the users are not been able to format as Full erase through SD card formatter so what would they do?I myself getting error of 123Fatal Hit n there the phone remains stuck.
As I stated in the OP, I'm just trying to help out. All the information is available elsewhere, this just provides an easy reference for people having problems.
If the Windows based formatting tools arent working for you, I'd suggest formatting to FAT32 in Gparted, then trying to format again with SD formatter.
Sentinel196, thanks for your GUIDE!
I tried this, unfortunately, still it doesn't work.
I think the problem is with my 8GB class 4 (cheap, unknown brand) SD card. For some reason, MAGLDR (1.11) doesn't recognize it fully when I select USB MassStorage. I hear the "USB device connected"-sound, but no drive comes up in Windows Explorer.
I tried another card I have, a Kingston 16GB class 2 card, with that one, everything works fine.
The strange thing is that the 8GB card works fine under Android, never had any problems with it until trying to use it with MAGLDR.
Anyway, I will put this issue I have with my SD-card in the MAGLDR-thread.
None of theese guide helped me.... It is not just about formating SD and stuff ....
I had to flash old WM 6.5 ROM, than do all again, radio, MALGDR, format SD, ClockworkMod ... like u do for the 1st time when 1st NAND droid came out ... don't know if this help someone ... but helped me ... my SD is 8GB class 2 ...
when I copied some file/folder to SD I always used Card Reader ...

In my experience for best results at this stage (when the phone reboots from CWM installation and every time you wish to boot into CWM) the device should be disconnected from USB (my device specs in siggy). For me, when I first got Magldr on the phone i tried messing around with the Boot AD SD option and tried changing the SD directory where Android boots from and that is what I think got Clockwork not to boot correctly for me. So instead of putting the two copy to sd files on the root of my sd card, I put in into a folder called nand and through the services menu in Magldr I added that as SD folder boot option for Clockwork Mod recovery and everything worked just fine.
I have seen a few people do this ..

Just out of interest, did you try just reflashing MAGLDR before starting completely from scratch? I cant see how loading a WinMo6.5 ROM would make a difference as the partition table is erased by MAGLDR when a NANDROID ROM is flashed.

I can't understand the part after making nand directory. What do you do in service menu?
Hi all.
I have a clockworkmod problem -
Following an update i applied, i cannot boot past android launch screen. no problem i thought, i had just made a backup from clockworkmod )). So i rebooted into recovery, and selected restore - the clockworkmod tells me i have no backups (there were 3 backups at least there...). the sd card mounts to clockworkmod as i can see its contents when browsing for a zip to install.
I then went to reinstall the rom from fresh, but as i dowloaded through rom manager, i can only see the 7.0.3 cyanogen update, not the full rom...
So i'm stuck with my desire unable to boot - i cant copy over a backup or rom image, and there are no backups on my card (but there were!!!).
Any ideas?
ps , yes i have used search but can't find anything that'll help me.
Ignore.

You can always take your SD card out of the phone, and using a memory card reader (or similar), download a ROM on your PC and copy across to your SD card. Put it back in the phone and boot into recovery and flash away...
Good Luck

yeah i thought that would be possible, just don't have a micro-sd reader...
is ther any other way of getting data onto the sdcard without using a card reader?
What did you update?
You could use fastboot to push the ROM file to your sd card.
And / or use recovery to mount the sdcard.

i attempted to flash lordmod kernel + PUV mod. i knwe that the PUV can be problematic, so backed up before i flashed. the backup complete, and i flashed the kernel. after finding the kernel wasn't working, i went to restore and no backups there at all...
looking up restore via fastboot now. only problem i have a mac, but could run it via VM...
maybe quicker to drive to the store to get a reader!!
OK, finally got fastboot working on my mac, device recognised as "HT11MRX11410 fastboot"

How do i flash a rom or a clockworkmod backup to this device using fastboot?

I tried twice to flash the new roms with all this partitions ... and twice got into trouble (tuck on logo , soft brick - like that).
How do i install it right ?
this is what i did:
1. S-OFF
2. Flash Bravo Stock HBOOT img
3. Create partitions
4. Full wipe
5. Flashed the LeeDroid 3.3.1 HD
And got stuck on the joker screen.
Twice !!!
Why is that?
Why did you flash stock hboot after you S-OFF? You was stock prior to S-OFF process lol.
Try to flash CM7 hboot and then flash leedroid data++ version.
If you will still get stuck on booting means you did something wrong with SD partitioning.
Sent with smoke signals.
Once again...
Always check md5 no matter what you flash. Just do it
...aes eht rednu

OK, so the SD partitions are Fat32 X (all the rest) GB and EXT3 1024MB ?
then i flash the CM7 hboot, after i flashed it, i need to restore the nandroid backup ?
then wipe everything and install ..?
Correct except restoring nandroid backup. Just flash from 0 after full wipe.

OK it worked .
But i want to use other SD card, how to i switch between them ?
Do i need to install the ROM again from 0 ?

If you want to move it to another SD Card:
1. Make a Nandroid backup in recovery
2. Move Nandroid from SD to PC
3. Insert new card, copy the backup from PC to new SD
4. Go into recovery and restore the backup
Just remember to repartition new sd card, if you forget to create ext partition you end up with bootloop.
If you are not scared to work with linux:
1.) Connect your phone to your computer and unmout sd card
2.) Put new sd card in your computer
3.) Create the partitions on the new card, you have on the old. For example you have one fat and one ext. Create fat at first, then ext (both primary)
4.) Copy the content of the corresponding partitions from the old to the new sd card.
5.) Insert new card in your desire and you are done.

Thank you, everything works now.

I was using boot manager to install a rom and I accidently wiped system and the rom didn't flash properly. Now I'm stuck in fastboot and can't mount my usb to transfer a rom to get back into my phone. All it does is power down or reboot into fastboot. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.

If you hold power plus volume down can you get to the bootloader?

If he can't get it to boot into recovery he'll have to try flashing a rom or new recovery in a pc36img.zip.
Thanks for the replies...I really appreciate the help. I can power down and get into the bootloader, but I can't choose recovery to get to my backups. It just loops to fast boot. When I click bootloader it tries to scan the pc36img, but fails...I'm guessing that it got erased. I don't have a card reader, but that's a good idea. I'll got to the store and pick one up and see if I can transfer the files I need to get my phone back on. I'll post back and let you guys know what happens. Thanks again for the help so far.
You just need to put the recovery file on the root of the sd card. Not everything until you see if it got erased.

Just bought the sd card reader and loaded back the recovery file. Looks like all my files on the sd card are still intact. I tried flashing HybridBeta.5...it flashed but kept going back to recovery when I tried to reboot. I'm gonna recover one of my backups and see how that works. Brb...
Once you flash into Recovery
Go to:
- Install zip from sdcard
- Choose zip from sdcard
- Scroll down to BootManager folder
- Select phoneRom and then click update.zip to get Phone Rom back
I have also flashed update.zip files from within rom1-4 when they were known good working installs and had them work as well.
