Hello!
I got a SE Play for like 2 weeks and I recently installed Gin2ICS ROM. After installing the ROM I installed one of my fave apps, which is Equalizer. I love it because of the Bass Booster, but unfortunately I noticed that the Bass Booster isn't working...at all... The EQ works fine, but the BB doesn't.
So my Q is...
Does anyone else have this problem? or it's just because of the ROM?
Thanks in advance!
I've actually had this problem too, and I'm on stock right now. (Only on stock because I wanted the update to 2.3.4)
Very Good.
So the stock rom has the same problem...
Might it be a a phone bug or something?
May someone test the app and tell us if the BB works for him?

Well, maybe it's an ICS thing? Cuz firmware 4.0.2.A.0.58 (2.3.4) has bass booster working wonderfully for me. The stupid "beats by dre" add-on makes the EQ settings nulled entirely though, so make sure you don't have that installed

Hi,
since updating ICS, my ARC lag enormously.
If I disable the stabilistaeur is a little better. but I still lags.
I tested a lot of ROMs but the problem is still there ...
I also tried a class of SC-CARD 4: it makes no difference
Have you an idea to correct this problem?
should I unlocks my boot-loader and I installed an unofficial kernel?
and if yes, what ROM to choose?? with which kernel?
I hope not to be obliged to return in GB ... :crying:
for information:
Xperia ARC Lt15i
Stock kernel
SI-number: 1247-1114
BL-locked
ROM: JJ's HYBRID ROM v3.2 Stable
Welcome to ICS. This is a known issue. Blame Sony!

If I did not root my phone or install a custom rom, can I play for example zelda ocarina of time has no lags or any problems or many other zelda games is just one example.
At the interface disign and I brace for a moment by the version 4.0.4 that I love.
So I advise you to install a custom rom or rooter my xperia play?
Another issue because I have a xperia x8:
Have known you a custom rom 4.0.4 with the camera and complete?

Sorry to hijack and all that but if all I want to do gaming wise is play emulators and not the latest games what would be the recommended ROM? Currently using 2.3.7 true ancestor with doom kernel. Fancy a bit of ics, but don't want to sabotage my ability to play megadrive and snes games (and so on)

Thread Moved to Q&A
So what are the pros and cons of ICS for XPlay? Can I root it, etc.?
With ICS you get the latest Android OS and all of its goodies (functions, theme, root etc.), but some games that worked fine on GB are either laggy, buggy, or unplayable. So if you use it primarily as a gaming device stick to GB, but if you use it as a phone, you can try out ICS.
I myself have used ICS all this summer, was pretty neat, but the games that didn't work on it and that I really wanted to play made me switch back to GB.

Thanks, but Titanium Backup is REALLY REALLY far from perfect. I have a ton of apps and reinstalling them with TB is hard to do. Not all the apps will reinstall, then you have to keep figuring out which will install or not install...it's a process that requires hours and hours to do... I even have the paid version.
I'm using CM9.1.0 stable version and I find it laggy and unresponsive at times. More so than I ever noticed when I was on stock GB. I much prefer ICS to GB though so I put up with it. It is annoying at times.

You might as well try out Jellybean. It feels so much smoother as any ICS ROM I've used. I'm running Supervenom's ROM with the included kernel and am very impressed with it.

That has an interesting install method. Restore from CWM rather than installing from a .zip I imagine I'd have to flash myself back to stock 2.3.3 before I could install that?
Anyway, thanks for the heads up on Turbo Kernel (yeah I'm running r9 right now) I'll check that out too. I can handle not being able to use apps2sd, my main gripe is MD.emu and NES.emu won't display video. For some reason I haven't been able to restore my Wolfenstein 3D either...
