Someone posted that it was going to be $150 at Radio Shack. That's where I am leaning right now but I am looking for the best in store price myself. If I do get it on the 16th, I want to examine it with a magnifying glass! Lol. I would go nuts if I opened it up and it had a defect.

If youre gonna buy your phone at radioshack be ready to spend money on accessories. They write up and threaten employees for not selling phones with accessories. Especially highly anticipated phones. I got written up once for selling an iphone 4 without apple care. Like everyone WANTS to spend an extra 70$. **** that stupid company. Avoid them if you can. The slightly cheaper price isnt worth the hassle and crappy support youll get from radioshack as a whole.

Point is the associates are under high amounts of pressure. When the evo 4g came out i flat out would tell people i couldnt sell it to them unless they were getting **** with it for fear of my job security.

Actually if it is gonna be 150 at rs then my reasoning is exactly why. Just go to best buy or better yet get it online. I got both my epics for 150$ on letstalk.com last november when the epic was still [email protected] sprint and 200$ everywhere else. And they wont force you or even ask you to buy any accessories or overpriced crap warranty. (Be reasy for the kid to try and get you on that 125$ 2yr radioshack warranty.

I just left T-Mobile today for the Galaxy S2 Epic 4G Touch and called the number posted on Sprint's website.
No deposit required (I have bad credit).
Activation fee waived (savings of $39.00).
Porting my T-Mobile number over ($125.00 credit to my Sprint account for bringing my T-Mobile number with me).
Getting the online "free" phone sent to me by Tuesday (shipping cost waived), trading it in on Friday at the store down the street (no restocking fee) and paying the discount price for the Epic Touch ($199.00).

just call customer care and they'll charge your account the 75$ then go to best buy and it should only cost you 150.
So yes is the short answer, haha. I think its the buy back or buy up program.

What am i missing here? You can "pay" sprint $75 to be eligible for a full upgrade if you only qualify for the $75 upgrade? If you are only eligible for the $75 off you get that $75 off the full price so if the phone is $500 outright it would cost you $425 with a $75 upgrade eligibility.

Would Best Buy price match Radio Shack at $150? I have about $100 in Best Buy gift cards and I would love to use them towards this purchase.

you are correct, if you are eligible for the 75$ I its only off the full price. I if you are 10 mnths from full (or 14 mnths into contract) you pay 75$ and you get your date reset.
the 150$ deal for the touch requires you to be eligible for full upgrade, which your 75$ payment gave you. So instead of using your 75$ off full price leaving you paying 425$ you get the phone for 150 + 75 coming out to 225$ saving you 200$.
also, this is just what the LSAT sprint rep told me when I tried to get my date moved. I haven't actually tried a i'm not up until next month for this but she assured me this is how it works.

well, walmart has it @ $100 for an full update and $155 for an half.

Letstalk.com has it for 99.99, but with free overnight shipping. Walmart only gives you standard shipping for free.

I used Wirefly to get mine for $199.99 tax free with free shipping and the process was VERY seamless. Before finalizing my order through them I even went into the T-Mobile store near me to see if they could match the price or even find anything fishy with the deal that I should be weary of. The salesman looked at his system for a bit and went through the order process on Wirefly with me then said "I'd hate to give business away to another merchant but we can't beat that deal and it looks 100% legit to me. If I were you I would go with that deal also."
So I ordered it through Wirefly right there on the spot. I chose the option to upgrade the phone while keeping my current plan and my phone arrived within 3 days with a final price of $199.99. I just called T-Mobile and asked why it was $329 when everybody else had it for $199. She said that it just is. I told her that I'd be buying a Galaxy Nexus straight from Google instead of extending my contract. She then transferred me to the "save" department where they instantly quoted me $186 before shipping and taxes. Ended up paying $211 and some change for express shipping and taxes and had the upgrade or activation fee waived.

I called and asked to be transfered to the "loyalty department" ended up paying 300 but they waived my upgrade and shipping fee AND credited my account 200$. Basically only paid 100 for the device

Sounds like there are all sorts of ways to get the S III for $199 or less with T-Mobile. Just have to be smart about it.

Wow Loyalty Department is awesome. I called them up and spoke to a nice guy about my situation. and Got a hell of a deal for a blue 32Gb GS3. I explained to the gentlemen that my wife wants to move to At&t and being with tmobile for 10 years I didn't really want to go but a friend of hers would hook us up with gs3 phones for $150 each and lower a monthly. The customer service was eager to help out to keep us with tmobile. after a few minutes on hold he came back with offering me a blue 32gb SGS3 for $120 and waving the over night charge plus saving me $50 on my monthly bill. also one of my phone are able to still upgrade next month. I'll save that for the next big thing in a few months. I love tmo. they know how to keep me as a valued customer. at the end of the phone call I asked him how soon will I have my new 32GB GS3. he said I should have it tomorrow when I get to work.
I should change my signature now... so happy

Yea t-mobiles been great to me. I have five lines and the next set of full up grades is dec and feb. Well i called tmobile told them to transfer me to customer loyalty. And after a bit of talking with the women ( sounded hot so hot) she said i will give u the s3 for 360 and also got the 50 dollar mail in rebate which is cool so actually paid 310 for phone and it was at my house in 3 days. She just said i see u are a valued customer with 5 lines and always pay your bill sir we want you ro stay . Anyways im happy customer...also even tho she called it an upgrade she said it will not affect my actual upgrade i think because i extended my contract. But thats cool cuz i have been with tmobile forever anyways. So when december comes around i can get whatever is badass at that time

I just signed up for Tmo on July 5th and called them about this code. They said its a student code and wasnt able to apply to my account since I'm not a student. Has anyone else been succesful adding this code to their account?

just got off phone with customer retention they are able to offer the gs3 for 179.99 that price is only through customer retention need to call them to get it

I think it depends how long you have been with them plus if you pay your bill on time every month and stuff. Little variables cam change the price drastically. Just a thought?

It's the Same department. When you dialing 611 and operator prompts you to select why you are calling just say "Cancel". That connects you directly to them.

When you guys upgraded via retentions, did they make you change your current data plan? I have the grandfathered 5 GB $30 data plan and I don't want to lose it. When I upgrade online it doesn't make me change it but obviously it's a lot more expensive.

It all depends if that plan will still be available with the offer they give you. Just say you wanna keep it and see if they agree.

I was in the same situation. Heidi gave me $5 off my data price per month. I asked her several times if my 5gb status would change and she assured me it would not. Ask nicely.

I almost getting this, since I've called T-mobile Loyalty Department with no luck, they wont give me any more discount or credit, I think it's because Im eligible for phone upgrade, but my account still on contract until next year.
My current data plan is $20 per month (Im not sure what's the cap throttle limit, since I never use that much anyway), but with Costco, they forced me to choose new data plan for $35 Premium 5GB, that what makes me thinking, I got the phone $100 cheaper but monthly data plan would be more expensive

Try wirefly.com, they r selling the s3 for 199 and you don have to upgrade to the 5 gig plan. Plus free shipping and all. You can also search for promo code to get some extra accessories for free as well. Just got two s3 from them recieved in 3 days doing the 2 business day shipping.
I also checked with t mobile before i ordered the phones and t mobile says that they are legit.
Just beware that you can not down grade the plans u chose to keep from wirefly for 6 monthes.

I was on walmarts site today and they have the note 2 for $249.99 and you get a $100 gift card with it. This is the best deal I've seen for this phone and thought l would share.

I can add the phone to the cart, but it wont let me keep my 450 family plan, it auto selcts the 750 or 900. how do i go about this? or maybe I'll try get att to match it on the retension call haha

There are two "equal" deals . You probably selected 249.99 with new account. There is absolutly the same $249.99 deal for upgrade. Both are sweetened with $100 e-gift card for Walmart today so final price $149.99+tax

According to the fine print it is for new and qualified upgrades. The eGift Card will be mailed out by the second week of January though.

I tried getting att to match the offer but no go. Fortunately I was able to upgrade my line through walmart without ay changes to my family and data plan Total came out at 249 with 100 gift card = price hard to beat. So excited to be a new note 2 owner!

I bought a Note II and a galaxy SIII from Walmart Wednesday. 2 dang days early. .

Hope it still is $249 tomorrow. i got mine at best buy today for $299. they won't match the $100 gift card, but I would rather have best buy's black tie protection and i used their buy back program to trade back my Note - got $300 for that

Called ATT for a price match they successfully gave it to me..I already called a week ago and said I seen it at best buy for 199 so they gave me credit for 100 bucks...I read this thread wrong....at first I thought it said 149.00 so I called ATT again Today.and said wallmart has it for 149.00 and a 100 gift card..sure enough I had to speak to a supervisor and got credit for 50 bucks..to equal 149.00 total cost. Then just read this and it said wallmartS price was 249....opps...lmao
So I learned they must not check..because I was wrong and still got the price match..lol.

Went and upgraded both my phone and my son's phones today. Got myself the Note II and my son HTC's One X+. Hell of a deal. Had to order them online since the local stores didn't carry them at all and of course they are both backordered, but at least I didn't have to pay any sales tax since the outfit was out of state. Not bad paying $399.98 total for two top of the line phones and with getting $200 back in gift cards makes it a steal as far as I'm concerned. Will likely have to deal with the typical screw ups of Walmart messing up data plans and such with AT&T next week but that's a small price to pay and one I've never had and issue getting cleared up. I've ordered my phones from Walmart the last several times and they always seem to get something wrong. But they have great prices so I keep going back.

Confused about which is the better value. Tmobile has the phone for$150 no contract plus$20 a month but Walmart has it for 199 on a new 2yr. Contract... Am i missing something here but wouldn't it be better to just buy it from Walmart They offer the same Plans right?

I would go with Tmo. With Walmart your locked in whether you pay the phone off early or not. There would be a fee for early cancellation. With Tmo all your obligated to do is pay the phone itself off. After that, you could easily cancel your service, request unlock pin and switch to any other carrier. I've got Tmo with 500mb and only pay $56 a month. For $10 more you could have unlimited data(2gb).

I've seen many people run the numbers but in my opinion and my use case the new "uncarrier" plan doesn't work out better for me.
If I would have switched my 2 lines over my bill would have gone up $20 a month. Yes I would have gained unlimited talk, and a bit more data, but I have never gone over my minutes and I've only used more than my data allotment 1 time. So for me spending $20 more a month is not acceptable, plus I am fairly happy with Tmobile and do not plan on switching anytime in the next 2 years, and my employer requires me to have a phone and pays for my line. For these reasons I opted to just renew my contact at walmart and get the 199 S4 and my wife the 149 HTC one.

Definitely walmart. Tmo strategy is based on fake advertising just to make you pay more. Most people that are with tmobile have chosen it because is cheaper than the other carriers meaning they don't have where else to go so the possibility of ditching tmo in 2 years is very low. With walmart you only pay 199 + data cost while with tmo thing you spend $450 extra on the device just because you think some day you might ditch tmo. I'm on the classic family plan 1000 talk, unlimited text, 200 mb data. With a state employee discount I pay $98 a month for our 2 lines (of which my employer pays half of)

Do they let you use 200mb with smartphone? I thought it was minimum 2gb

you're wrong its cheaper and better to go with tmobile. with the 2 year contract u are locked and u get the phone for 199 bc the tmobile pays samsung the difference while locking u in to repay for the phone. but when u are in the contract you continue to pay for the phone ontop of your plan meanwhile with the no contract deal you only pay your phone and a separate plan, so when u pay off the phone ur bill drops but if u were in a contract u continue paying the same high bill.

Depends on what plan you have. I never go over 1000 minutes so the unlimited talk tmo has i can care less. Also most of the time i am on wifi so no need for 5gb or unlimited data. For me it is better through walmart because i know i won't ditch tmo in the near future and i have no use of the extra minutes or data i would get by going the "no contract" way.
Edit: how does tmo lock me in to repay for the phone? I only pay 199 and then pay for its services only instead of paying 150 then pay for phone + services every month.

Its the same either way. You have to pay the $50 sales tax along with the $150 because you're paying full price. I would go with T Mobile personally

the reason they put you in contracts is because you pay off the phone. TMO gives it to you for 199 right? the difference from 650+ - 199 is given to Samsung by TMO. Then while you are in contract, you are paying for your services but also a part is going towards tmo to earn the money back it gave to samsung. and since you are in contract, you eventually pay off the phone and even more since you are locked in. if you go the uncarrier method, you pay off the phone and then only pay services.

Okay i get that but i am telling you that it is very difficult to find cheaper provider than tmo. Most of us stay with tmo for 2 years at least, especially if you have a family plan. I have seen people in the s3 forums that have been with tmo for 8+ years. How often have you changed carriers in the last years?

Am i missing something wouldn't it be cheaper in the long runto just pay 199 from Walmart ? 150 from t mobile plus 20 on top of your bill till its paid off seems like it costs more. Paying 199 and getting the 60 plan it means contract yes but I'm putting that extra 20 towards my service instead to "buy"the phone

But isn't paying 20 for 24 months basically the same ass a2yr? $20x 24 months is $480 +149 to tmobile makes $629...even if you cancel service you have to pay off the balance. I understand that if you paid the 629 up front you wouldn't pay $20 a month but if you choose to pay $199 at Walmart yeah its 50 more but you wouldn't have to pay$20 for 24 months saving you money in the long run no what I'm saying

I got my at Costco for $199 with 2 yrs contract . The best thing about Costco is you can exchange your phone within 90 days
