What will we pay if we return the Evo within the 30 day time?

I haven't payed my first bill yet and I'm thinking of getting the iPhone because of all the issues this phone is having, I know this would be better in the Sprint forums but for some reason my Evo won't let me post there so what will I have to pay if I take it in?

At a Sprint store there should be no cost.

There is no cost if you were a new Sprint customer. If you were already a Sprint customer there is a $35 restocking fee for the phone.

yup no cost whatsoever, unless you use send international text messages or anything not covered by your plan, then you would pay usage.
if you bought it through other retailers like best buy you wont be getting those 50 dollars you used to preorder it back...

Ok that's where I bought, will they refund me for the phone?

You would get the $50 pre-order money back. The phone was still $199. The $50 pre-order money plus the $149 paid when the phone was picked up.

You will get the preorder money back on a gift card. Not cash/credit like you paid for the rest of the phone with. It was very clearly stated by BB and RS that those were non-refundable.

im pretty sure you dont get the money back... for the preorder card....
i mean that preorder was basically a 50$ best buy gift card you bought that you used for your phone... that money is gone you arent getting another 50 bucks when you return your device....im pretty sure same goes for radioshack

As someone has mentioned, you don't get the pre-order $50 card money back in cash. You just get one more $50 card that you have to use with the retailer.
I did not know this. When I returned my EVO 4G to RS, I got another $50 gift card. I did not want to buy anything at RS so finally I decided to Order my iPhone there. I don't want to waste my $50 on RS crap and/or expensive items.

If you were lucky enough to get one without pre ordering, you'll get a full refund. My sister is the one that put me up to getting this phone, she works for sprint. I happen to love it so I'm keeping it.

Full upgrade???

ive been with sprint for years now and had numerous phones from them and the lady told me i have a full upgrade available which gives me a 150$ rebate. But i thought a full upgrade usually gets you like 300$ off. like the evo would be 200$ with a full upgrade but with 150$ off the evo comes out to $350 am i missing something i know theres a year upgrade and a two year upgrade and i thought the 2 year was a full upgrade?

I may be wrong but how I usually remember it is -
Full Upgrade is your gonna get the price of the phone with a new 2 Year agreement usually every phone is $200 - and less. of course if you go through sprint your gonna pay an extra $100 that has a mail in rebate. (Why I recommend Bestbuy since everything is an instant rebate)

Thats why I never buy my phones directly from sprint try radioshack(online website or tigerdirect.com) I got mine from radioshack for 179.00(without tax and shipping)

$150 off the full price of the device ($450), then another $100 off mail-in (instant now, though) to bring the final price to $200.
If you're only eligible for $75 partial upgrade, it takes $75 off the full price but not another $100. So the price would be $375 with partial upgrade.

thats right...to just restate what others have said, when you have a full upgrade with Sprint, its just like a new customer buying the phone with a new contract...so after the discount and rebate (which i would go to radioshack or bestbuy since you dont have to mail it in) you pay a grand total of $200...they just make things difficult for the customer thats all

when I got my phone from radioshack I didnt have to do a mail in rebate... but that was on april 4 it was a online price only... they may have discontinued the offer I think tigerdirect is still having a sell.. better yet try amazonwireless.

where do you guys buy your phones?

coming from evo 4g, im due for an upgrade and am wanting the e4gt, and am trying to find the best deal possible. where do you guys go for deals when upgrading your phones?
$150 seems to be the best price i can find online, from amazonwireless, but they're out of stock for the next 8-9 days.

I bought mine from Wirefly via Bank of America's "Add-it-Up" program. $150 from Wirefly, $50 cash back from BofA, and no sales tax shipped to California was $100 net cash money out the door. Worth the extra return hassle during the first 14 days and the handcuffs Wirefly puts on you for the first 6 months.

It was just .01 on Amazon wireless but it seems that ended because I checked today and its back up to 99.99 and 149 for upgrade. Man you just missed that 1 cent deal

Got mine off Target mobile. Che k Best Buy mobile, Tiger Direct Mobile, Walmart Mobile, Wirefly, etc. All these stores that are by simplicity have good prices, but some are lower than others.

Amazon Wireless. Unfortunately I bought mine right before the 1 cent deal they had this week. I would've bought it at Best Buy in-store but for $100, no sales tax, no activation fee and free shipping was too good to pass up.

Either radio shack or the sprint store.

I usually get mine at best buy. I mainly just get it there for the insurance they offer. $10 a month and they cover everything but lost or stolen. Used it about 10 times on my Droid incredible in one year and got it replaced in about 2-5 days. Oh and no deductible on the insurance

I bought my Epic 4g Touch at my local corporate sprint store. I have found that corporate stores usually have the ability to give you deals and exploit little loopholes that are sort of floating around in the sprint corporate system that non-corporate stores/contractors do not have access to.
Since switching to sprint I have had an Evo 4g, Nexus S 4g and currently the epic 4g touch. Despite being with sprint for less than 2 years I have paid below the rebate price for each of these phones. Each time I have gone into my local corporate store, I find the nerdiest guy in the store (basically, I look for someone like me) and then I nerd out with him over smart phones and tech stuff for a little while. I create some kind of basic connection with him and sell him on me as a customer, making him want to give me a good deal. To summarize, go to a corporate store, find an employee who you think will actually want to help you, and make yourself extremely likeable. I have received way more money back on my old phones as trade ins, exploited system loopholes and received discounts that I wasn't supposed to be eligible for.

high upgrade price

Hey all,
Where can i find the lowest upgrade price for this phone? it is way to high everywhere i have looked. I have a classic plan, not the value plan, so from T-mobile, i would be paying $229 + $50 (rebate). Basically $279 without tax.
Any lower prices out there? if not, i will go with the One S

Hate to say it cause I work for tmo as a sales rep. Lowest upgrade price is at walmart and they usually don't add the req(contracted)/correct data plan especially if you rush them

Same here work for Tmo... Walmart, or Cosco.... I no on wirefly wit new actos fones r cheap Idk if prices r the same wen upgrading.... Also tmo has alot of weird late night offers they give fones for free its weird like at 11 or 12 they have crazy deals

When you get a discount with your upgrade you have to have a contracted data plan. I.e. a required data plan. At walmart I've seen like 90% of our customers who bought their phone at Walmart come to the store because they didn't get the data plan that's required with the upgrade... so we add a non-contracted data plan on (one you can take off the account if you want)
Required data plan (contracted) = a data plan you can not take off for the length of the contract... you can increase or decrease the amount of data you want to purchase (200mb, 2gb, 5gb, 10gb) but you can't remove it completely without breaking contract

don't go to t-mobile stores. Talk to the loyalty/retention department, they usually hook it up when you upgrade/extend your contract. you should not be paying $230+ for this phone with an upgrade because you can find it off CL for about $300-375 (ymmv, friend got one for $310 2 days ago)

i got my sgs2 for 300 on CL this past weekend. mint condition as far as i can tell.

Man you guys are crazy, I work for Costco. I sell it for $179 + tax. No MIR, nothin. You also get a free accessory bundle which includes an extra car/wall charger, leather pouch, screen protectors and data cable. Not to mention a 90 day exchange period with NO restocking fee. If something better drops 2 months from now, you just bring it back and pay the difference. Buying a phone anywhere else is just nuts.

I didnt pay any extra fees she said that she could match the price from best buy mobile. I on a family plan but im not sure which one. Are you sure your up for an upgrade that might me why the price is higher. And i did get the phone from tmobile they are shipping it this saturday. I dont know why they would say 279 unless your 2 years isnt up yet

Please explain how people said to go to Walmart and Costco to get the phone are crazy when you said to go to Costco lol -_-.
In my opinion, it is crazy to spend $200 on a phone with an upgrade that is 7 months old. The price has been free-100 the past couple months with upgrade.
Instead of using your upgrade i would just pay $100 more to have it off contract.

I obviously wasn't talking to the ones who suggested Costco or Walmart.... I'm taking about the ones who go through tmo direct. Even at $199, that costs more, you have no free accessories and only a 14 day exchange period (which also requires that you ship it back to them if you got it from the loyalty dept at that price, plus a restocking fee). I agree with you on the off contract price though. If you get lucky you can get one on CL in the $300-$350 range. If you can swing that, I'd go that route and save your upgrade for a newer phone. We do have the One S at Costco for $189. But I presume a lot of folks would rather wait to see if the SIII makes an appearance on tmo anytime soon.

I got mine for $137 with upgrade through the retention department and they gave me a buy one get one free deal, so the wife is rocking a GS2 as well. No MIR required.
Had a problem with them sending out the wrong color phone so I had to do a mail in return. But, in the process of talking with them and crediting my account for the wrong phone, they accidentally changed my upgrade status and 4 months later I am still showing eligible for a full upgrade.

wow....this is crazy, defiantly checking out Costco....or hassling them on the phone till i get a good price.

Costco won't haggle on pricing at all but they are usually the cheapest anyway.

yeah i would get the one s with the upgrade through costco, and if you don't enjoy it... sell it for more and buy a S2 and have some $ left over.
but yeah, call the retention/loyalty department and see what you can get it probably will be free.

I would do this myself but I'm out of the country on vacation. But someone should just call tmo and just ask that. But if you early term and pay etf they can't blacklist your phone. But there is still the thought if you do early terminate you may have to pay out the phone possibly. Idk.

A few years back when I worked for one of the major carriers, if you did not return the phone when you canceled within the grace period then you would have to pay the full price of the phone and if you didn't then they would send the bill to collections. This phone is awesome but not worth the harassment of debt collectors and getting your credit score screwed.

I know on amazon you had to keep the service for 6 months. If you didn't you had to return the phone or pay the full price.

I read up on all TM stipulations about 2 weeks before the note 3 came out. I'm not sure about buying the phone on amazon but if you buy it though TM, you are basically refinancing the phone. You're paying a little more each month (I think for me it's like 15 it varies depending on how much you put down), plus you get the jump program included in your insurence. Also if you cancel, you will have to pay off the remaining balance on the phone's "loan".

OP this is exactly how I got both my note 2. Tmo had just stopped the classic plan. Walmart still offered it though. I signed up then the very next day switched to a value plan, paid the 200 fee ( on one of them because I sweet talked the Rep and got the other waived) and was set. I got me and the wife note 2s for 600 bucks total (this is when they were still the hot phone)

Too late, both, Wirefly and Staples, have now taken down the classic plans and are showing the full price for Note 3 Oh well, you snooze, you definitely lose! I will wait for some time b4 the price comes down a little...
