Below is a video tutorial on how to root the Galaxy S II LTE (SGH-I727R) for Rogers, its posted here because the mentioned phone doesn't have its own forum section for some odd reason.
Q: Who can follow this root method?
A: Only people using the Galaxy S II LTE for Rogers, it must be the SGH-I727R and running Android Gingerbread 2.3.5
If I have a problem during the process do I contact you?
A: No, please do not contact or ask me for help since I didn't develop this root method, I merely created this video to simplify things. The original instructions can be found here.
I take no credit for this root method, as mentioned above I made this video to simplify things. Rooting your device could possibly damage it, follow the instructions at your own risk, do not ask me for help I am not the developer. Want to thank me? Login and hit the "Thanks" button, hope this helps someone out there.

Hi I have a root samsung galaxy Tab Sprint cdma model. I'm very confused what should the next step be for the sprint cdma tabs after gaining root. Anyone that could please point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance i know we don't have any roms for sprint cdma tabs, what do you suggest doing after you gained root of this model tablet?

Firstly this should have been asked in Q&A forum not here.
Second, what do you mean next step? next step for what, you didnt explain what end result you are even trying to accomplish.

I rooted my 2.3.3 using the tools and comments found here:

Hi all,
It took me some time to get my phone Rooted and SIM Unlocked so I have decided to put my findings below.
Phone which I used for this post: Samsung Galaxy Y S5369, files for S5360 is also available.
Root:
Copy update.zip to SD Card
Turn off the mobile phone
Hold up volume key, home button and power button together for few seconds
Locate the update.zip and follow the easy steps
Sim Unlock
Copy Galaxy Toolbox to you your storage card
You can use ES File Explorer to find and run the application
Follow the easy instructions from the application to complete the process
I will give credits where it's due, please check here again later as I need to go through the sources again.
update.zip was retrieved from GeekDashboard.
Galaxy Toolbox was retrieved from Play Store.
There like 100 treads with this same information but thanks for the effort I guess

Didn't find one on Sticky for the one I wanted, although the actual zip I got was from geekdashboard.

I think there are still many people who don't know how to root, sometimes it's nice to see the same information in a different point of view which can enable a person to try again.

I found many threads with too much information which just overloads a user. I kept this thread to minimal, plus another reason for creating this post was because my model was different compared to the standard model that everyone else got in UK.
Anyway, this post was intended to help people.

Well that makes sense but when a phone has been around as much as the SGY this issue gets tackled alot first root comes (probably b4 the phone is even released) but the original post might be confusing so someone dumbs it down and that continues the longer a phone is out the more treads for that issue pop up....BUT and u should have put that in your tread relating to the UK thing since I know with my phone (s5360l) there isn't a tread on rooting it off u search you'll find the file for s5360 which didn't work in my phone how I found the file was by happenstance viewing a tread on s5360 and someone happened to have a s5360l and got someone to convert the file to s5360l and post it but other than that single comment on a tread there's no root information on my phone I've wanted to start a tread for a while but problem is I can't remember the guy's name who converted it not to mention that for a period I was on s5360 firmware so I also have the s5360 and the s5360l update file and I don't know which 1 is the correct file lol
Hi, thanks for the easy guide, is the unlock permanent or does lock again if using the software update option on the phone?
unlock is permanent but i think its better to use the unlocker from the real developer u can find the newest one in playstore.
While Galaxy Toolbox is free and available from Play Store, to avoid unexpected threats and have the latest release, I recommend to download it from the original source: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.doky.sgtoolbox

Nice...it took less than 5 minutes.
Hey guys, before I begin, I've attempted to search the forums & I've been unable to find an adequate answer, so if there is an answer out there to my question & I missed it, my bad.
My question is thus. I have a Galaxy S3 LTE, model sgh-t99L T-Mobile branded & I'm considering rooting & installing a custom rom. I have done this previously with a HTC Sensation 4g successfully & I'm comfortable with the procedure. However, I've been unable to find any information on if it is possible to root the T-Mo S3 LTE model, if there is a way to restore the device to stock after rooting it, and the necessary tools to do so.
I'm happy with my device as is, but I like to tweak things, so I'd like to at least know if its possible to root my device & if anyone would be able to point me in the right direction.
*Note at the time of posting this, the search feature was "unavailable"*
Thank you guys for your assistance
Sean
Ok, first thing you need to know is this is a question, and as such should be asked in Q&A. Also if you were to look in Q&A you would find a dedicated thread for the T999L that is almost always on the first page. And if you read the stickies you would find a link to it in the roll-up thread.
Not lecturing, just helping so you know for the future. Also, when xda search is down, you can Google "xda T999L info" or similar and it should show up.
Your questions are already answered in that thread btw. Link is also in my Sig.

To do this, go to galaxynote2root website and look at the tutorials. It takes you step by step and is basically a can't miss process. You can even reverse it later on if you don't like the results, but I found it great to fine tune your device to exactly what you want out of it.

1. This is the Galaxy Note 2 forum. Putting "Galaxy Note 2" in your thread title is ridiculous.
2. You also specifically create a "Help" topic but then for some odd reason decide to put it in "General" instead of the dedicated "Help" section???
3. No spoon feeding is allowed on XDA, if you want to root your device start reading instead of creating threads that already exist. Stop been lazy and use search, read and learn.

I will have a try.
Try looking in phils recovery thread. I'm pretty sure there is an all in one package to root and install recovery that is flashed with odin. Just make sure you always flash the correct version, don't flash anything for the n7100 just the n7105 and you'll be fine

You also have the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 toolkit... That's what I used the first time I unlocked/rooted/changed recovery of my phone... It's quite complete and basically does all the hard work for you... After rooted you have lots of ways of doing the same thing...
I originally went to: digitaltrends.com and read the article "how to root android' and in looking at the list of compatible phones to do so mine was not there So It told to come here. The problem with here is, it is very confusing to me, I'm very knowledgeable but not a true techie.
I am moving to China so would like to root my phone to use there. I would need a step-by-step guide.
My phone is the Samsung Ace IIx, also know as Samsung GT-S7560M
Any help to the right link would be appreciated.
