Wildfire s prepaid cell phone and sim card - HTC Wildfire S

Please help. Does a prepaid wildfire s cell phone have a sim card slot? So, say I already have a plan can I buy one of these prepaid wildfire s phones and put in my sim card?

The Virgin Mobile USA, US Cellular, and MetroPCS Wildfire S phones do not have SIM cards as they are CDMA.
However, if you get your phone from T-Mobile, Virgin Mobile Canada, or most any European carrier you will have a SIM card slot.
So, if you want a SIM card slot, a GSM variant of the phone is required (Marvel) and you need to be sure to not get the CDMA variant.

Please be patient with me. I'm a dummy.
So, something like the following will have a sim card slot that I can use?

Oh! It's no problem. I apologize if I came across as impatient.
Yes, that phone should work with a SIM card.

Woohoo! I love you!
Just got a really really good deal for that phone. I'm a smart phone dummy.

No problem! Enjoy your WFS (Marvel).
If you plan to unlock bootloader/root or whatever, be sure that you follow guides for Marvel not Marvelc. They're two different versions of the WFS.

Didn't I answer this exact question like 2 weeks ago???
This exact question from the same exact person, in fact.
huh? well are you guys gonna help me or what lol a week ago i aint have the code now i do so can you guys help or what?
You do not need an international sim card. You do need a sim card from another carrier. When you put the sim card from another carrier in the phone, it will ask you for a code. Enter the code from tmobile. This will unlock your phone.
Currently, your phone will only work with tmobile network. An unlock phone can be use with any GSM carrier. This is useful when you travel internationally. You can buy a prepaid sim card and use your phone to make calls.

Unlock Phone Non TMO Sim

I have the unlock code given to me by T-Mobile which requires a non TMO sim card to unlock.
The question is can I use the sim card from a friends Verizon S3 to unlock the phone? Once it is unlocked then I will go back to my TMO sim card and TMO S3.
I am going to refer my buddy to this thread for his concern is if it will cause any damage to his Verizon S3 sim card or phone.

It will not change anything on his sim except if you take a picture, or make or recieve a call that is not in his contact list. It should be safe to do for both of you.
Hope this helps.

Yes, you can most likely use that sim to unlock the phone. If not you can look for used at&t micro sims on ebay for like 99 cents, and no it wont damage his sim card, nothing will change, the only thing is you won't be able to make a call from his sim card, because it is just meant for LTE data, he technically doen't need the sim because his phone is cdma (doesnt use a sim card). Hope this helped, good luck!!!! :good:

If the phone is sim unlocked, then it should be fine to be used on any carrier. However, not all carrier allow sim unlocked devices to work with their sim cards as the have blocked sim cards. I am not familiar with Verizon, but at first sight it should work flawlessly. :good:
Okay. Thanks
If anyone else comes across this.. The final answer is that it cannot be activated on vzw

[Q] sgh-t999l not recognizing sim

so, i recently bought this phone new in box. opened the box, inserted my sim and it does not recognize it. now i should mention that i use walmart family mobile as my carrier. could that be my problem? i'm told that t-mobile phones work since there a branch of t-mobile but so far no luck. im going from a captivate to this phone, so the sim was bigger. i used the template deal and cut it down to the micro sim size which i thought could be my problem but the sim happily works in the captivate. any help with this would be greatly appreciated. i will answer all questions to my greatest abilities and i apologize in advance if im the 18th person to ask this today like other questions

You can not swap SIM cards from one provider to another unless your phone is unlocked..
You need to purchase a T-Mobile SIM card kit...

but this works with other t-mobile phones and i know this because i have done it without an unlock, but those were older older phones like the s1 and s2. does the t999l specifically pick a fight? maybe a quirk of 4.1.2?

I believe in order for this to work on this device, you would need to unlock it..
I'm no expert, but this is my personal experience..
In order for me to test this, I would have to have both devices and YOUR sim card..

well a man can hope right? and from my extensive research i have found that because of the fancy L the only way to unlock this is via a dude on ebay, or a code directly from t-mobile. i doubt t-mobile would do this for a non-contract phone though. it certainly does suck to suck.
Esn?

"Doesn't recognize it" please explain what exactly what is happening. If it is still asking for a SIM to be inserted, you will need a new SIM, but if it is asking for a Unlock PIN Code or similar, then you will need to unlock the phone to use with a non-TMo provider. Personally, I think that since you cut the SIM and it is not lining up. You should get a new (factory made, not cut) Micro-SIM. Also, I believe that it should work with Simple, Straight Talk and Walmart Family on any TMo phone.

[Q] Travel Overseas and Use Local SIM card

Hello All,
I am traveling to Taiwan for several weeks. I would like to obtain a local sim card when I am there, and use it in my Verizon HTC One (M8). In the past, I would call Verizon and obtain the "unlock" code to allow me to roam on foreign systems. Must I do the same with the HTC One (M8) A while ago, in my random internet searching, I thought I saw something that said the M8 is a worked phone, and need not be unlocked to use a foreign sim. Just want to make sure I take care of what needs to be done before I find myself in a foreign land without phone service.
Thanks

If phone is unlocked it should also work with SIM card from another local (US) operator. This means you can double check this by inserting a friends SIM card from a different operator than the one you are using. Remember to change APN when testing data connection.

There is no such thing where a "certain" type of phone need not be SIM unlocked. It up to the carrier, and the AT&T and T-Mobile versions at least are SIM locked.
Although, I think (not certain) I saw someone here post that their Verizon version wasn't SIM locked? So the answer isn't clear.
EDIT: Just did a quick search, and it appears in fact the Verizon comes SIM unlocked out of the box:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2694903
But apparently, the only M8 variant (of the "Big 4") that is unlocked out of the box:
