Hello, may seem silly my question, but i was wondering,if i will be able to flash a custom rom made for the Galaxy S,on Galaxy Wonder, would it be possible, without bricking it?And if so,would i will able to reflash my Wonder, with the boot loader if is ok,to his original stock rom?Just in case,if someting get wrong,it will be able to flash his stock rom(the original Wonder european rom)?Because, seeing the hardware that the Galaxy S plus has,it seems pretty much, like the hardware that the Galaxy Wonder has on.(1,4 ghz, single core,512 mb of RAM,5 mpx,hd recorder, and stuffs). What all of you are saying, its seems new my question,im hopeing to get some answers. Thanks in advance. My phone already is rooted, and haz the ginger 2.1 ICE on it,with the custom recovery,rz,and the latest CWM.

Are we able to install Villain Rom on the 989 version ?
I don't what that is, but if it's not specifically for the T989. The answer is a big no. You could cause some serious woes for yourself by flashing it.
No, someone here tried it and got soft bricked. If its not in our dev section don't flash it....
Powered by the SGSII....
I'm using recently bought un-rooted Galaxy Gio (S5660XXKQ5) with stock 2.3.4 ROM. The reception has been pretty bad right from the start and few days ago I read that the reason for that might be the modem of my current stock ROM.
The question is - can I just flash new modem via Odin without rooting the phone and installing custom ROM? Is there a collection of S5660 modems somewhere?
HI !!!
Hi!
same new member here...
this analogy maybe ll help you...
which one do you think is greater, the brand new car that hasn't been modified or the modified car that its components, including engine, brake, and body has been modified into the best one???...
when you play NFS or GT sure you ll upgrade your car components, right?
same like the custom rom compared to the stock...
even the stock has a lot of problems..
here mine when i bought, i got nothing special with my gio with 2.2.1 stock FW
even the galaxy mini is better comparing to gio with the stock in GPS test
so u better root you phone, without being care about the MOdulator-DEModulator stuff and going to new custom rom
there are a lot of Best rom in the Android Development forum like the one created by phiexz, search yourself
to have custom rom sure you have to root your device, and don't think it's complicated that you should get other's help
u can do yourself
1.)search the root tutorial based on your current rom (when i first root my phone i used superoneclick, but if it's kinda complicated, seach another way)
2.)then install Clockworkmod Recovery, download in the market or else by the name ROM Manager (or the customized CWM)
3.)download the rom (complete components, if existed)
4.)flash the rom by rebooting into recovery... (don't care about rooting again, u ll find most of the rom will be automatically rooted with new CWM, and a2sd enabler)
5.)short tutorial above depends on the rom you ll be flashed
i'm a bit being advisor, hope u dont mind...
I know all the advantages of having a custom ROM but this time I'm really interested in replacing my modem to get better reception. Could it be done?
Well look recently I discovered that in this web site I can find roms, kernels, tutorials, etc. but just for Samsung Galaxy Gio GT-S5660 and my phone is a Samsung Galaxy Gio GT-S5660L and please someone can tell me if all the content for Samsung Galaxy Gio GT-S5660 works on my model (Samsung Galaxy Gio GT-S5660L) why is that "L" at the end and why in this web site my model doesnt appears.
And before I change my rom when I turn on my phone appears this "GALAXY GIO GT-S5660L" and the when I installed a rom for Galaxy Gio GT-S5660 that screen chaged for "GALAXY GIO GT-S5660"
shouldnt be any hardware changes, so you can just flash a s5660 rom, the only thing is that it will be called s5660 and not s5660L.

GT-S5660L is the Galaxy Gio model of a certain region (some parts of Europe?). That means that it comes with its own region-specific baseband (phone service in a way). Never flash a ROM via Odin (other than your stock ROM) unless you have removed the baseband file (amss) or you have a Odin flashable version of your baseband. Though if you are flashing a ROM via custom recovery (on the phone), you're safe. Just remember to root first and you should be able to flash any Gio ROMs on your model. When you turn your phone on, the model appears. When it says 'GT-S5660' after you flash a ROM and turn on your phone, that just means the ROM wasn't designed for use on your specific model. It was designed for use on all Galaxy Gios in general. All models (unless defective or otherwise different) of the Gio are the same hardware-wise.

Hello I was wanting to return my Sprint Galaxy S3 from CM 11 to the new Sprint galaxy s3 stock 4.3. I have seen reviews on it and i like how it looks. But i would like to keep my phone rooted and ClockWorkMod Recovery on it. I have been searching for a download for the RoM or the md file to flash it or something. Can anyone help me with this?
ROM
I think you will be fine just flashing this. It's the 4.3 ROM with the Knox removed.
