Which ROM are you using and if you've tried both, which one works better for you.
I've used andromadus betas 2 and 3 quite extensively and between those, i tried out CM9 beta 2 and 4 and each time, i was disappointed with how slow and laggy the CM9 beta felt.
Andromadus Audacity is smooth and fluid throughout nearly all tasks on the phone, but for me, the CM9 beta was very slow with even just trying to swipe through the homescreen.
Andromadus Audacity beta 3 has pretty much everything working without any issues, except once in a blue moon, you get these annoying little text corruption glitches, but they're not really a big issue. It feels very stable though and i rarely ran into any issues when i used it for more than a week.
I voted Andromadus Audacity Beta 3 cause that's the last one i tried but there was no difference between both ROM.
Very smooth and stable in both case. The only difference is the camera preview which works on Andro B3 (but i installed it on CM9 ).
I've been running Andromadus beta3 on my phone and its been fast and fluid. There are still minor bugs but for the most part it is definitely DD material

Anyone try CM9 beta 5 yet?
BTW can a mod please change the CyanogenMod 9.0.0-RC0 BETA 4 in the poll to CyanogenMod 9.0.0-RC0 BETA 5
On Andromadus 3 video in 720p aren't fluid, its laggy...i tried 3 rom Andromadu, CyanogenMod 9.0.0-RC0 BETA 5 and Miui, i like miui for his design but the smoothest is Andromadus!
I'm curious about this as well, Currently I'm on Andromadus Beta 3 but there is very few CyanogenMod based settings a few under Launcher thats about it.
Are there more settings in the CyanogenMod Beta's?

First, the cm9 beta ROM and Andromadus are both based on the same amount of cm9 code. As such, they contain the same cm9 settings. Andromadus has an extra menu for settings specific to it, with some other extra features in some of the other menus. CM settings are all included in the appropriate settings sections now, though, rather than a separate settings menu/app. That said, you can find a bunch in Settings-> System, which is a section not native to AOSP.

Thanks for clearin that up.
Andromadus is working fine for me
I love the feeling of Audacity. Sometimes I get errors, sometimes they are fatal (right now my phone is rebooting for the 13. time and I have no idea to resolve it other than reinstalling). But I've experienced that on CM earlier.
My vote is totally for Andromadus
Cyanogenmod 9 Beta 6 & 7 both suck. Too much lag, and it slowly gets worse over time. Use Andromadus.

For me its Andromadus (right now on Beta4). Everything is running and no problems at all. Beta 3 felt a bit smoother then Beta 4 but i'll look forward and hope the best
I voted CM9, im using the Beta 8 and everything is working fine and its fast! It is my first experience with the rom and i plan on using it as a DD so we will see how things go after a few weeks.
I have tried beta 3, now using beta 4. Very smooth. Just text glitch appear sometimes, but can fix it by restarting the launcher. No reboot required. And one more, I'm facing problem with realplayer. It stopped everytime I trying to open video in another folder. Already clear apps cache but realplayer still stopped.

How can I change my vote? I originally had the cm9 beta8 but just switched to Andromadus and I'm converted, its just that little bit nicer.
Ive tried both the latest betas for each mod and while neither gave me any major problems, i found Audacity was giving me smaller problems quite alot (the clock freezing in time when the phone was on the sleep screen and the backlight on the trackball staying on at random times). I couldn't deal with all that minor irritation!

PLEASE READ BEFORE VOTING: Just wanted to see what the general consensus was about which ROM is best for everyday use, and for new guys trying out a new ROM, this is a good starting point on what to try first. I agree, most ROMs update often (sometimes daily!) and even though one update may break a thing or two, the general usability of that ROM usually maintains the same.
Now, when voting for this poll, remember to take account usability in an everyday environment, not full-fledged feature comparison. Some ROMs can't record 720p and most ICS ROMs have no (not even partial) HWA and can't use video camera. But these things are things most of us can live without. So when voting, please take into account the basics: If the phone works, if messages work, if you can use Wi-Fi properly, if 3G works, if phone reboots too often or not, if the ROMs runs stable and smooth or if it lags and locks up, battery life, photo camera works or not.
After taking into account usability, take into account features. For example, if you feel there is a CM9 ROM that runs as stable and usable as another CM7 ROM, choose the CM9
Please vote for ROMs you personally have tried, and not for ROMs you "heard" work well. More than one choice can be selected because you may feel more than one ROM was working well enough to be used daily.
Note: I started making the poll including only CM variations, and decided to include other ROMs in the mix (which I'm not sure are based off of CM material), so I just decided to leave CM7 for any Gingerbread based ROM and CM9 for any Ice Cream Sandwich based ROM
DISCLAIMER: This is by any means no reason to diminish some developer's work, but is instead intended for the average guy who doesn't have all day to be flashing new ROMs everytime a new build comes out.
Nice of you guys to vote, but unless someone posts anything, this thread will just get forgotten.. So I'll take the plunge...

Well, Quark's GB CM9 is my daily ROM. It is pretty stable AND usable since 0805 if you blacklist HWUI for some apps.
I really don't see any point why I should go back to stock or CM7.
Considering the rules of poll:
1-CM7
2-MS2Ginger
3-CM9
Since 0805 cm9 i think I'll never come back to a GB rom

CM7 - Euro Skank
Quarx-cm9 from May 11... seems very stable.
I'm using the quarx 120506 (May 6th) and it's pretty stable.
I was having some issues with previous CM9 versions from Quarx and Epsylon, like Bluetooth issues, crashing apps, slower camera, reboots and so on.
This is with no doubt the best CM9 so far (i didn't tested yet the versions from days 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 (may)).
When I have time I'll update to 11th may version to see what have been improved.
I´ve started trying ROMs since i did my register, and that´s a few things i could say about ´em
Gigglebread´s builds of CM7 are the best for me in terms of daily use.
- fast
- stable
- well customized
(i can´t remember of any bug or FC in a little while since i started using it)
120508_v2 Defy+ Quarx´s build of CM9 are the closest of a daily use ROM of all the ones i´ve been testing (so far)
- fastest CM9 i´ve ever tried (after installing Apex Launcher)
- stable (phonecalls, sms, wi-fi, 3g, sensors, camera, gps ...)
- still little buggy with camcorder, and the panomara doesn´t work for me
ps:I ALWAYS do a full wipe before swapping from cm7 to cm9 roms and i always flash my stock SBF before getting back to cm7.
I don´t use chrome, for me dolphin browser mini is enough.
euroskank cm7.2 FTW
cm7 euroskank!
WIUI stable
WIUI stable is the best rom
I'm getting no issues on Maniacs cm-7.2.0-RC1
I´m on Maniacs nightlies (CM 7.2) for quite a while now and my Defy is completely stable, fast and i go for more than 2 days without charging

Which is the best ICS ROM for HTC Desire Z?
Which have you tried and which one works better for you?
Why do you prefer that one instead the others?
I'm looking for a stable and fluid ROM, the one with less issues, I don't care about appearance and graphic effects.
I found these interesting:
Virtuous Quattro RC3
CyanogenMod 9.0.0-RC0 BETA 10
Andromadus Audacity Beta 4
At the moment I'm for Andromadus but I'd like to have your feedback guys.
andromadus for the win, even the test builds aren't that crappy... i just flashed it, but i have an issue where any music app lags, so i'm reflashing another rom
I had tried Andromadus Audacity Beta 4, everything is working including camera. Very fast. Very rare lagging and font glitch than beta 3. Now I'm using it as daily ROM.

This is not a little problem, do you had it with Andromadus Audacity Beta 4 on HTC Desire Z or with an other ROM/device?
I have tried all 3 of these ROMS. No one seems to be working as hard as the Andromadus team. It may say beta, but this ROM is exceptionally stable for where it is in the development process.
I'm voting other: The one you find works best for you.
I posted in the other thread I found Andromodus had some small bugs like the clock freezing in sleep and the trackball backlight lighting up at weird times so I voted Cyanogen 9....have been finding it slightly cumbersome of late though, not sure whether to switch back again....I swear it was faster when I had beta 5!

Andromadus Audacity Beta 4 + v6 supercharger
I've been using andromadous since alpha, and in the current beta I find it works pretty well.
I'm using it daily and don't have any problems, except for sometimes there is a text corruption (letters whicn cannot be read, but with the icons I can operate the phone well).
I've been using the Virtuous Quattro RC3 build for a few weeks now on my T-mo G2. I was getting the screen artifacts that have plagued all of the ICS ROMs for this device but I chalked it up to the Trebuchet launcher, so I installed the Flex launcher instead with the same results.
Performance is better than my Cyanogen 7.1 (Gingerbread) build on the same device - particularly in terms of battery life and homescreen response time. Actual app performance has suffered a bit. That could be because I reduced the default clock speed to 1Ghz. For example, Angry Birds Space takes about a 40 seconds to load, then there is a good 20-30 second lag between when a level draws on the screen and when the app will start reacting to input.
I'm going to backup my install and try the Audacity ROM this weekend, then give that a couple of weeks as well. My T-Mo contract ends in September, so I'll keep playing with ROMs until then, then find a replacement phone with ICS native.

They're based on literally the same code. The only difference is Andromadus has a few more fixes/tweaks/features to fill in the gaps that the lack of official support from CyanogenMod leaves. The CM9 "Beta" rom does too, but they're kanged from Andromadus.
Also the kernel that both ROMs use is Fyodor's kernel (Andromadus dev).

Honestly, Cyanogenmod Beta 10 is probably the smoothest ics rom out there right now. Ive tried em all, and believe me, there's nothing better right now. For some reason the beta's after it (11 and 12) are alot choppier and slower overall, so don't bother with those for now.
Andromadous is the most popular because it was the first, but CM9 Beta 10 is the best. you'll be suprised how good it runs once you try it. Okay, now i'm done. i'm starting to sound like a living bill board.
I would say Andromadus is probably the best, but if you want some theming too, QuadraSense it as smooth if not smoother than andromadus

Here's a flashable fix. Worked great for me.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28957409&postcount=458
I still get camera crashes with that fix.
To the best of my knowledge, there is no full fix for the CM9 camera available yet (the flashable fix mentioned earlier was only a partial fix that still caused freezing on focus and was incorporated into CM9 nightlies weeks ago). However, I strongly recommend you try today's CM10 build. In CM10, the camera is fully fixed, everything is even faster, and even though it's still early in development, CM10 is now actually very reliable and polished as a daily driver. Today's CM10 build is far more polished and functional than any CM9 build for d2att.
As what sultanqasim said I would recommend the CM10 jelly bean it has good focusing with the lastest preview build it can be used as a daily driver with next to no bugs. Should be out officially soon or IMO it should. But there will always be bugs.

I'm not quite ready for cm10. cm10 doesn't install every apk (ie. flash). i know the 8/10 build didn't have launcher setting available and the camera DID work great. I guess I'll chill for a while...
Flash for Android is discontinued, legacy, going away. As for CM10, the latest (08/14) build is great. Almost everything works, he only issue I've encountered is sporadic infrequent flickering of the screen (but its rare). Trebuchet is fixed and launcher settings are available in the present build.

Are you using the cm10 euroskank build? I tried the 813 build and was missing several main apps including the camera, and this was on a clean install. Been using the CM9 nightlies until I get a 10 that works well on my phone.
No, I haven't tried the euroskank builds. I'm using cyanogen's own official preview builds in the original dev forum. Just about everything is present and working in that current build.
P.S. Could you have flashed the wrong GAPPS by any chance when you tried CM10? That could possibly explain why CM10 didnt work as exppected. You need the 07/26 Jellybean GAPPS with CM10.

Hello, I have seen the forum that there are three Cyanogen10:
CyanogenMod 10.0.0-RC0 marvel/marvelc ALPHA0 By: modpunk
Cyanogenmod 10 builds (WIP) [MARVEL] [UNOFFICIAL By: benjamingwynn
CyanogenMod 10 Nightlies - modpunks work By: dudeman1996
I tried the first and second and I see more or less the same, the only thing there was a camera and another yes
What you recommend me for one day? Currently I have Cyanogen9 Alpha 7
thanks
Same here, I tried all the three and they're full of bugs. (FOR ME) and the biggest problem was the Htc Ime Keyboard didn't work on jbs. So I'm back on CM9 Alpha 7.
I tried Ben's and Modpunk nightlies...I couldn't get past through the boot animation due to I think bad building for Ben's ROM....
I was currently using Modpunk nightlies, it was working great except for the fact that Link2SD won't work with the ROM. I think I gotta get a different compatible kernel for that... (any suggestions?) Other than that, gapps is a pain to work with on this ROM especially with Cam, and low space to even flash them!!
cm10 is full of bugs .. i dont think its worth bothering with for daily use
i doubt if this will ever work, I think this is too much for the WFS
I'm running benjamingwynn's cm10 and it is absolutely smooth. The few main bugs are not annoying for me (gps and camera not working). The real pain is that some apps can't be installed (in my version) because of sd card permissions. But I use this ROM every day.

I stuck with Gen.Y VisionX R3 as it was the first one I installed and everything seems to work really well on it, and it's nice and quick. I didn't really feel like going CM as I like the Sense UI, and I always find that really simple things like calendar, contacts etc always have some sort of problem in the CM builds like the Facebook link to contacts breaking or the calendar randomly stopping syncing, but I do miss some of the extra customizability in the CM builds.
Im using blackice and it runs very well. Its 2.3.4, I love mimicry but for some reason it crashes my router. I personaly may try cm9 or the aokp rom.
I tried several ROM's but they would hang or reboot after running a day or two. Minicry even wouldn't start at all. TrickDroid is a nice Sence Rom, but it was very slow even using swap. Now I've switched to EliteMod & Kernel ICS and it runs fluently.
Unfortunately my beloved Dezire Z died last week.
Was using mimicry 1.5 for quite a time, but recently moved to Flinny's JB 4.2.2. Pretty much happy with it so far.
My DD is a fusion of gen y r3 and sense z lite. My kernel was based on virtous that I have re-configured for functionality. some of the rosie are was taken from desire x. bugs exist but nothing I cant handle and I dont intend to upload any of my work because some of it was taken from other devs work. When I started porting my rom I intended it for personal use only.
Currently I use ajhavery's Desire XZ 1.0 with APM mod (http://www.ajhavery.com/category/desire-xz/) and ckpv5's Tabbed Extended Quick Settings with battery percentage for myOnev 9.0 (here is his rom thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1647052).
It is a very smooth Sense rom, the smoothest I think, just a pity that Rosie Lite can't get landscape mode.
I love tweaks and sense.
Venom ViperZ.
I tried almost all the recent roms, so far viperz is the most complete and stable one imo. With some tweaks, its fast as a fresh install of mimicry.
I ran mimicry for dd (4 months) before switching to viperz.
Flinny's CM10.1 ROMs. Once the phone gets going it runs pretty smooth for a two-year-old single-core phone.
