Recomendation for In Ear Headphones for Under 50? - HTC One X

Are there any In-Ear headphones for Under 50 dollars that are decent.
I have been browsing around Amazon.
Is something like this a waste of money? Seem to have lots of good reviews and only 22 dollars.
http://www.amazon.com/JVC-HAFX1X-Headphone-Xtreme-Xplosivs/dp/B004M8SAJ4/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
Or would it be better to spend a little more. Im not a crazy audiophile obviously just want something that sounds decent and an upgrade from the crap ones that come with the One X. Dont really want to spend more than 50.
Thanks!

I have the older version of these and they're some of the best headphones I ever owned and a reasonable price - they produce great sound with my One X and beats profile.
In the UK they won lots of awards in gadget mags/websites for best value in-ear headphones, just google them and i'm sure you'll find 5-star reviews. As these are the new version they're hopefully even better!
Hope that helps.

I use the Brainwavz Beta v2 with in-line mic and controles. Amazing sound and cheap look at head-fi.org for some reviews.

Did I make a mistake?
I went with the Vmoda-remix as I run durring the summer here and there.
The Vmoda comes with optional clips to put around your ear for running and exercising in general.
I read on New-Egg reviews that Sennheiser CX300 has a slim cable and you can hear it scraping against your shirt while running. I read this in several of the reviews on there.
Overall both seem to have good reviews though.
Hope I made the right decision.

I got iBeats of eBay for £35 and they are superb, loved them on iPod but there even better on HOX, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Monster-B..._HomeAudioHiFi_Headphones&hash=item3f172348c3 ....Ye will probably find a seller closer to your country...
Edit: sorry just clicked you have already made your decision

get yourself a set of soundmagic e10 or pl30 read there reviews!! i have the soundmagic pl30 they are awesome headphones that are vastly better than anything else for the money!! ive done head to head tests with other peoples, one of my friends was gutted when he put his Sennheiser CX300-II against them, i remember him saying he was going to send them back to amazon and get the same as mine lol

Meelec M9
amazon.com/MEElectronics-M9-BK-Sound-Isolating-In-Ear-Headphones/dp/B0038W0K1G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1337479160&sr=8-1
I did a ton of research for good budget earbuds and narrowed it down to the Meelec m9s. They vary in price on amazon from day to day, but you should always be able to get them for under 20$. You can read up about them on the audiophile forums, they all love the M9s. Quality sound, and pretty good build quality. Worth a look.

BEATS audio in ear headphone with s2?

Is beats audio in ear headphones good?iam planning to get one !for s2?how is it with s2 is it advisable to buy one ..?
In my personal experience, they're rather overpriced and are just there to look pretty. As well as that, sound quality is only really worthwhile at the studio's level, and even then they're way overpriced.
If you want proper sound quality, I'd recommend a pair of in-ear buds from either Sennheiser or Sony's. They generally have well balanced and high quality sound for their price.
I'd tend to agree with them being over priced, though if you like very bass heavy headphones you may prefer them
Personally in that price range I would go for Etymotic, Ultimate Ears or Klipsch products as the bass isn't overdone (if I want more that's what the eq controls are for)
For Sennheiser I have found the failure rate to be a bit high (and there's so may fakes out there you have to be careful when buying them)
However headphones are a very personal thing
Don't buy them, not only are you falling into that social group of "beats heads" who in my opinion are fools, you are also paying silly money for hyped up artist names painted on them. Oh and they're made by monster, and there have been plenty of stories how their products contain so much fancy stuff but the same job can be done with entry level parts (see monster audio cables no different to wire coat hanger)
Oh and I work in electrical retail and I see a lot of these things come back with faulty drivers
thank you guys for your suggestions i guess will stick on to stock samsung headphones then
I gave my stock samsung one's to my mother for her mp3, Work was nice to give us Christmas gifts each year, I picked Sennhesier CX300II's and they work brilliantly, they've lasted a long time too, generally in the past i've found some earphones get destroyed by me either tangling them all the time in my pocket, or wear and tear.

You could have a look around the forum various sound enhancing apps and fixes posted .
Basic problem is if you like boom boom bass music you need to buy a different phone or a Ghetto Blaster add on .

Sennheiser FTW...got my first CX300 5 years ago...recently got CX300 II...still just as good as ever!
Ive tried the Beats...and as heavily advertised and marketed by just about every single artist...they are just selling them to you for the brand and looks...which is why I love Sennheiser...they are just headphones. period. damn good ones too!

A common review of the Skullsz often says broke within a few months though sound quality good for the low price .
Any views on that ??
jje
Depends on the model, probably. I have had a Titanium pair which lasted close to 3 years, with a lot of travel and abuse. So I got another pair of Titaniums (the sound quality seems to be a bit poorer compared to the previous one, but still good enough for the price).
I am using Nu Force ones, but recently ordered a-Jays One+ Earphones, still waiting .
Why are you guys hating so much on the beats? I know that they are mainstream now but that doesn't mean that they are that bad... The most important thing is that you got to enjoy what you buy if he wants to buy the beats let him... They got the best warranty ever even if they break you call them they send you a brand new box even if you used them for 1 year... I exchanged mine twice and no question asked each time... You pay for what you get in the end. Btw skullcandy has one of the worst build quality ever at least on the headphone version not the little earbuds the headband keeps breaking + cable problems every month if you buy them make sure to buy the extended warranty.
As I have said before on here, Beats are for people who's desire for 'image' outweighs their knowledge of audio equipment. Beats are overpriced and overrated -- you're much better going for a decent set of Shures, as a direct price comparison they're much better both in terms of value for money and dynamics, and have better build quality.

Thank you, this actually shows how overpriced they are if they can afford to give out 3 pairs for the same price
Love hate for Skullcandy, Had a pair of inear ones which I loved the sound was good no crackling and great bass, but they died within a year
I have had two pairs of Sennies one which broke shortly after a trip through the washing machine (it was a sad day) Then I got a pair of CX400II's which have an inline volume control that isnt too bad but when adjusting it slightly it messes up the balance making one earpiece louder than the other. +1 for a cable tidy and carry pouch as well
I want to get a new pair either with noise cancelling or an inline microphone, when these either break or I lose them.
The Stock ones were pants, lacked depth and sounded cheap, can't expect too much really not like I have a 400 quid phone or anything
Beats? LOL!
They claim to be the best headphones in the world but it's only marketing so they can sell them overpriced! They don't even say their specs!
If you want to ear something really good, buy sennheiser headphones/earphones.
Beats are overhyped.
Sennheiser or Skullcandy are imho the best in-ears available.

Errm, better quality on the real product... You can argue all you want that they sound almost or even the same but they don't.
OP, you're better of choosing Sennheiser, V-Moda even Bose if you are an audiophile. Unless you like overbearing base then choose the Beats but you can do better for your buck. Either way, their all good brands, just make sure you get the real deal.
Yep, I'm using them! what do you want to know? I'm guessing you may be asking about the remote control function, I can categorically say that it does not work on the Note, only thr one centre button, volume buttons have no function. I have searched for ways to make it work and it is not possible. Other than that, whatever you need to know, ask!
I've got the studios with the remote and the pause works but that's about it...
Honestly, beats are the worse kind of headset anyone could get. You could easily get a better quality stuff at 1/10th of the price.
Not a fan of Beats Tours (or Studios, Solos, the HD versions etc). I used my mate's Tours and they sound, well, crap. I've used them on iPods (another awfully overrated range of products), a Zune 120/Zune HD, a range of Android devices (the Note, Vega tablet, Desire HD, SGSII etc.) and they ALWAYS sound the same: overbloated bass, and not a lot else.
If you wanna spend a fair amount of money on IEM (in ear monitors) then for the money you can't get any better than Panasonic HJE900's, in my opinion. I use them, and I use them with PowerAmp and i've made myself a custom preset using the 10 band EQ and through the Note (even with it's mediocre sound chip) they sound great!
Troll thread success! lol yeah I heard the quality on them isn't that great, and people tend to invest their money into fake beats lol. oh materialism... haha
I am yet to see a single opinion or review of Beats that has anything good to say about the sound quality. All I've seen so far say that you can easily get better stuff for less money.

Yeah I agree. but to get the best sound one has to spend $200-$300.
Skull Candy and "Beats" are faddish. Monster has always been overpriced and over ratted.
There are REAL earbuds out there by Westone, Etymotic, and Shure.
I use ETY-4 and On my bike the Westone 3s Neither has phone controls. When I need to be "online" I just use the stock phones. The "louder" app by Supper Curio is great but nothing compares to what he did with the Samsung Vibrant/Captivate when they used the Wolfson chip. Definitely worthy of the higher priced earbuds.
It seems like everyone is just awesome loooooooool... Im not trolling and agree strongly with many of your arguments especially about monsters cable products... But I purchased a set of genuine solo hd for 200 off rrp here in Australia and they are fantastic... I don't use too bass heavy eq settings as yes the headphones are bass heavy but they were collaborated with a hip hop artist (however much actual input can always be debated) and the rest of the ranges are quite good... Remember the file type your are listening too as well.. The powered isolation is good but deep burble is not always removed but a good deal of voice and external noises are nicely isolated... I know many with disagree with me n that is fine I'm not here to convert anyone but for a couple hundred dollars my last pairs of headphones have been utter crap and these from a variety of brands with and without mics and in ear or not and for a little bit extra I have noticed significant gains yes u can spend 500 on very good earphones I payed just more than half that and they are not bad

Look at the target audience beats are marketed to. This market is not going to read internet reviews or do research on which headphone is higher quality or more bang for your buck. They are just going to blindly buy Dr. Dre's headphones because of Dr. Dre's name on them. Why do you think his headphones sell at all?

Aaaa, now everything's clear. There must have been a mixup between Headphones Design Department and Anal Beads Design Department. No wonder they sound like crap....
I actually did my research and it did come down to personal choice. I tried other headphones at the store, alot of them actually, and I felt the quality was more than decent and a fair improvement on my Sennheiser CX980s which cost me £180 and were a tragedy. The point I will make is "haters gonna hate". Make your assumptions about the people who buy these, I am not a marketing victim, I tried the products within my price range and came to a decision based on their performance. I listen to rock, and the definition this headset produced is better than most. They are bass heavy, but there is such a thing as an equalizer which allows you to tune your sound and the sound I'm getting is awesome.
I also keep hearing "there are better products out there for the money" but most audiophile *****es come back with headsets like mr Onassis's comment further up with his $1000 headset. Seriously? If they literally don't make you come I can't understand how you can spend that amount of money. You'll say that it matters, but at the end of the day if it really did the standard of that brand would be the only one.
It's popular to hate the beats, but how about you stop being a bunch of douchebags with your dicks out and a ruler? You aren't measured by your headphones.

Sony Ericsson mw600. Amazon has them for like $40.
LG HBS-700
About $60 but sometimes cheaper. Folks on the other end don't know I'm in a naked Jeep. I still can't hear them great but that's mostly because I only have it in my right ear. At work, with both in, all of the cube-land noise is silenced by my Slacker tunes. I've used them with my gtab2, old fruit-based phone, corporate crackberry and shiny new SGS3.

The New Plantroncs Backbeat Go's can't be beat. I switched to them from the LG's.
Depends how much you want to spend. I have both the SE MW600 and LG HBS700. I like the MW600 because it lets you use your own headphones to plug into it allowing you to have better sound quality. I like the LG because of simplicity of 1 device but the sound quality is lacking compared to the MW600. I threw the MW600 in the drawer and use the LG exclusively ever since getting them. I got them for $40 off Newegg when they had the special a month ago.
I have the Jaybird Freedom. They run for $99 but they are awesome. I used to have the Sennheiser MM100. They were good too.
I'm liking my LG HBS700 so far. Tried Motorola s10 and really didn't like the fit, but LG one is comfortable. I forget that it's there sometimes. Kinda wish I got the white one now to match soon-to-be-mine white gs3!

Have these now. They are amazing. I got them for cheap on ebay in new condition. Well worth the price tag. Range, bass, battery all excellent. Range is around 50+ ft through a crowded gym. Once you get used to how they fit around your ears these are great. They never fall out while running or anything. And cancel all noise around you.
http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Ericsson...id=1341894808&sr=1-1&keywords=sony+hbh+is+800
Had these for 15 months. They were incredible never fell out while running. They had a ****ty proprietary charger that started giving out towards the end. They met their fate when they fell out of my pocket and I ran them over by mistake. Range was great on this probably about the same as the XBA. Never fell out of my ears even while sprinting.

These were my first pair. Decent but eventually I couldn't charge it because of the cheap micro usb port. Don't remember how good the range was.
http://www.jaybirdgear.com/jf3/bluetooth-headphones-features.html
Got these after the Sony HBH and hated the lack of range, about 15 ft if you had an armband i would recommend these.. Quality was great. Required constant readjusting though.

what earphones?

ok so i lost the earphones that came with my s3 and need new ones. i was looking at the urbeats and the beats tour. should i get either of those or should i just buy the same ones that came with the phone? the beats are $50-$60 on ebay and the samsungs are from $7-$15 on ebay aswell. i already have mods on my phone like beats, dolby, xloud, and srs. so im wondering if i get the samsung if they will be like the beats with the mods.

Try the JVC Xtreme Xplosion Earbuds. I've got a pair of them and I've been pretty satisfied with them. I've got an irregular ear and regular Earbuds and in ears never really worked for me, these stay in my ear with no problems and are very comfortable. The bass is very good almost comparable to my Sony XB-500 (Blow beats studio out of the water.... Just saying) the mids and highs are Allright, they get better as you burn in the ear buds. I think they are really good and I got mine for like $20 shipped.

i got my earphones the other day and i just tried them today and i have to say they suck. they were supposed to be samsung genuine and i cant hear the bass. i compared them to my brothers samsung oem earphones and his sound way better.
dont know if it has anything to do with it saying for samsung galaxy blaze 4g. but they look the same as the ones for the s3.
I personally would avoid Beats like the plague. Yea... they supposedly have nice sound to them (Never had a pair close enough to my head to hear them)... but i wouldn't buy any product made by Monster. Yes... the A/V cable company. The same one that apparently has the ca-hone's to sell people a gold-plated fiber optic audio cable with a straight face.
I'd either go with genuine Samsung earbuds if you liked the way they sounded, or i'd say Sennheiser.

Overpriced, and the sound quality isn't terribly amazing. You pay for the branding essentially.
A good pair of Sennheiser's or the Klipsch s4as will do so much better.
Those are my headphones for music.
Otherwise, I have a couple OEM Samsung's for calls and such, they are nice for the price point. $5-10 on Amazon/eBay.
I bought these ME Electronics M11+ recently, and for the price they really are excellent:

Edit: the M11P+ has a mic.

Beats = Monster. Same deal. You're paying for branding. Could probably get a comparable Sennheiser for far less than... what are they... $180?
Earpods.

I would agree that Beats are not worth the expense. My son has had a pair of in-ear beats and they have not held up at all. I am hopeful that with Beats officially separating from Monster that the quality and value will start to head in the right direction.
yup theres mixed reviews of the beats but they didnt really convince me.

No no, The Turbines has a much clearer sound than the Beats that ive tried.
I really don't get people who say stay away from beats. I have one myself and I do think they're a little overprice for the sound quality but, I think they are the best looking headphones. I don't want to be walking around with some retarded looking headphones on my head. Its all about preference. Just go to your nearest bestbuy try out all the headphones and see which you like the best. I have the Studio's for anybody wondering about em. Here's a pic. And yes you can hate me for it

I'd go for Sennheiser, they have all kind of price levels and even the CX300 sound good.
I really like these. I haven't used the stock s3 ones so I cant compare.. I've used a few other IEM's in the past, nothing really expensive. They also used to be double the price 2 years ago..

i have a bunch of reviews coming in the next few months but I found a real GEM this past week. so much so I bought 4 pairs for myself and some for family for christmas.
I actually bought them on a lark because they were burn your eyeballs nuclear neon orange in color but when I put them on I was truly "shocked" at the quality and depth of the sound especially considering the $10 price tag !!!
You can get them at Big Lots and FYE. they are Polaroid OEM and I have found them in burn your eyes neon orange pink and green as well as bright purple blue black and white.
they are on ear cup style. I would kill for some surround ear cup versions of these but they are surprisingly comfy as well. These are now my "goto" general use headphones. they are just that good and pretty darned nice too. Great build for $10 great sound. NICE fabric sheethed wire and a nice skinny but reinforced jack. very impressive.
trust me. for $10 its worth the gamble to just go out and find out for yourself.
Big lots also has a $20 bluetooth speaker. not "Bad" not great not too much volume without some cracking but hard to beat for $20. DO NOT buy at FYE they have the EXACT same thing but OEM'd memorex for $60. NOT worth $60 but well worth $20 for something to play with at big lots

These sub-$10 IEMs from monoprice are a KILLER value.
Enhanced Bass Hi-Fi Noise Isolating Earphones
Don't take my word for it...
The Monoprice 8320 (MEP-933)..The $7.11 club..
I am NOT an IEM fan. they tend to be painful to me (physically) I prefer full size headphones and can tolerate some on ear phones (like the polaroid's but only for so long)
I tend to only be able to tolerate IEM's for any length of time by using the smallest ear plug so they are a "loose" fit but that usually destroys the bass.
but for $9 with that kind of following. WTH I will find out in a few days
I love this guide: http://www.head-fi.org/products/category/headphones
You can pick the kind of headphones you prefer and it shows the best of class and how they are ranked by the head-fi community.

These are getting some great reviews on Head-Fi as well: Sony Smart Headset MH1C with SmartKey Control
There are some coupon codes for this seller on retailmenot.com for more savings.
I would go with the Audio Technica M30s.
Here(http://dx.com/s/headset ) there are lots of headset under $ 50 you could choose from. Nice deals.
Verzion will have the Klipsch S4A for $50 on Black Fiday

i have Klipsch buds and love them!! would def purchase again
You shouldn't pay more than $30 for great earbuds
I've been selling earbuds for years now and I know pretty much all there is to know about them. It's the one product that people tend to buy over and over again because they lost or broke their old ones. People also tend to over spend and buy ones that are flashy like the Beats brands, even though they aren't as good as cheaper ones. You shouldn't spend more than $30 for a good set. Make sure the frequency range is at least between 12 and 22,000 hertz. Make sure the cord is 4 feet long. Make sure they are comfortable and at the same time wont fall out easily. A single driver setup will sound good, yes they sound a little better with a multi driver setup but it's not worth the extra $100. Frugal5.com does a good job explaining this, they list the best 5 for the money to be:
#1 Sony MDREX10LP/BLU In-Ear - $12
#2 JVC HAFX1X Xtreme-Xplosivs - $17
#3 JVC HAFX40B Carbon Nanotube Coated - $18
#4 Panasonic RP-HJE350-K SLIMZ - $20
#5 Philips SHE6000/28 In-Ear Surround Sound - $22
