By the way, I'm starting to re-evaluate removing the lens cover as it gets so dirty so often...most pictures are washed out and opaque

Hey peeps,
New to XDA, finding it an amazing community of modders...
Anyways, am I the only one who hates the tone that's made from pressing the volume key on the side? We have quad core phones yet the sound it makes is like "my first phone" toy.
Maybe it's just me who doesn't like them but either way, can i remove/disable/replace this sound?
Thanks
You can play a tune though! It is rather annoying

Lol
Lol, true true you can.. I still just don't like the kiddish sound..
I've been in one or two quiet places (notably at a company presentation) and ah, just hate the tone that goes off!
So any ideas? Maybe a location for the audio files?
Would deleting them effectively make it silent?
I guess only I have this issue then ...

Not at all, gives me the pains as well.
Guess you can probably delete these sounds when you are rooted, which is unfortunately out of the question for me.
Doesn't bother me other than when I'm in work, and everybody looks at me thinking I'm playing a little xylophone!

So the solution was a lot simpler than I thought ..
1) root the phone
2) go to /system/media/audio/ui/
3) backup (just in case) then delete "Volume-1.aac" - "Volume-7.aac"
Simples.

Finally got a hold the developer. Will keep everyone posted.
This is the email that I received last night from the developer about making a English version.
If anyone likes how the clock works let me know I'll make contact with the developer and see if I can talk him into making a English version.

they all look alike to me...and no, that wasn't a racist comment. i just dont know the language so they all look like gibberish to me.
either way, not a huge fan of the old sense look. i would love the sense 4.0 clock widget that flips and uses english. i would be down with that.
I like it. I always loved the flip animation from the HTC clock. That's the only reason I like sense lol

*Edit- here is the link. This is the first apk, but I'm pretty sure theres more posted later in the thread

Yeah I love the HTC clock. Using the non-flipping one now posted on the forum and loving it. The flip part would make it complete. Hopefully no lag will follow though.
This is the widget from MIUI IIRC. If someone could customize it to look like the HTC one that would be sweeet

Wow very nice and dude has themes for it now and one is sense 4.0 clock sadly I can't read Chinese : (
I found some intresting files in sys/ directory that could help me in this project but i need some some comments about it and im not sure about that the front and back camera will have this feature i appriciate every help i get
The HOX has HTC's own image chip that is capable in taking RAW picture but i think htc f***ed it up again so the RAW picture mode landed in the Developer partition of the Device so now my Project is to implement it again. The negative thing is just the htc album has no codec for RAW Pics so you have to use a third party app then :/
Examples:
-Android_Camera 2
-sys/modules/rawchip
sys/devices/virtual/rawchip/rawchip0
*there is an other file im searching in the sys developer partition

Reserved 2

I still believe in HOX for Development
Sounds good but like many said HOX is not anymore * attractive device * for developers , we're lucky that we had great kernel devs and rom devs, infact we had best rom devs , sucha are richmond which made probably the most advanced sense rom ever in the history of XDA. Anyway the idea sounds good but requires some time , and by the time you manage to do it there will be only few left to use it or care for it.
Anyway i wish you all the best and best of luck into making this happen since i love my hox too much to sell it but still got me One.

The HOX is not dead and we're still a lot left who loves this device. Sense 5 is just around the corner and really good devs are still on board this one year old flagship. I don't know where all this melancolia came from, but don't bury the beast just yet.
Keep up the good work, I and a lot of others are cheering for you!

+1 There's plenty of life in the old girl yet
I would love to see this, I always prefer raw from my dslr when I'm working in photoshop and would be really interesting to see it in Hox, and as some have already said, the Hox is nowhere near dead or old, it will be around for quite a while yet. Waiting eagerly

Its good to smell the old XDA Flavour here on HOX Forum Guys the HOX is a highly capable device we dont need s-off for every development step

All the best from here. I would really like to see true photos that camera on HOX can take and not the worst quality photos i have seen on Android. My sensation took photos a lot better.
Believe. I've had the htc one but the camera sucks. I sold it..now I have the one x again. Just because it's newer doesn't make it super amazing.
As for x photos they are damn good. You want better go back to the dhd they were superb. I still think the one x takes cracking photos.

Anyway not being rude or anything
Maybe I wasn't clear enough. What I meant was I want the stock Messaging app with an iPhone style bubbles.
Or if you want me to be more cleared, I want the HTC Smileys and the iPhone like convo.
Sorry about the confusion.
Anyway thanks alot mate!
