That is indeed weird, but remember it's still a beta. It still has bugs, otherwise it would've been released. Maybe you should try another rom, I'm using CM9 and it works like a charm.. almost.

[Q] MIUI 1.12.16 keyboard respons poorly

Hi,
I've just installed the MIUI 1.12.16 Rom on my Xperia Arc.
And now when i wanna type something, my keyboard responds very poorly.
On the stock rom i've never had this problem, so i tried a couple other keyboards but they all have trouble with the buttons on the bottom ( space, enter, config etc...), especially in landscape modus.
I thought it had something to do with the calibration of my screen, but when i go to Dev tools, pointer location, my pointer can go all the way to the sides of my screen...
Anyone knows what this is or can help me?
Thanks in advance!
I have the same problem. I don't know what it is, but i saw some people who had the same issues with other launchers.
I have the same problem with miui and installed arconium for that reason.
I am not sure what is causing this - but the keyboard is not very usable when the arc is rotated by 270 degree. Unfortunately the normal doom kernel is not compatible with miui therefore I can't really check whether it's kernel related or not. But both miui versions show this problem, regardless of the kernel i use (doom miui or jason).
Sad, I really like the miui gui.
I just updated to 1.12.23 but still my keyboard doesn't response like it should... After a little bit of Google i found out TouchPal would be better.
So i downloaded it and i have to say it works great! So you should check it out!

Ported Touchwiz Clock Package apk v2.4 working on ICS and JB

TouchWiz Stock Clock app
New themed version by Gyebro
To anyone interested, Gyebro has put together a Holo themed version of my clock package, he has put a lot of work into it too, there are a lot of visual fixes and it looks and runs great on 4.1.2.
Check out his thread
[PORTED][APP][HOLO] Holo themed TouchWiz ClockPackage
And a bunch of screenshots here
If you like it, head over to his page and hit thanks
***New Update 22th September 2012***
This is a ported touchwiz clock from the Samsung stock roms. It is tested and working on ICS roms and most Jelly Bean roms. This app has been tested in 240dpi (as it is designed for) and 210dpi, tested in English and French. Any graphical problems you might experience are a direct result to changing the dpi, I will not be accepting requests to change the visual layout of the app because as it is it is completely stock and working perfectly for 240dpi (the intended dpi for this phone)
This app is fully functional except for;
1. the map for the world clock (the world clock is working thought)
2. the popup notification notification that tells you your alarm will go off in X hours and X minutes
3. the color of what you have selected in the snooze options (you will be able to see what is selected in the main alarm screen
apart from these minor details everything else is working. Please do not post to tell me about these things, I already know.
I have added languages from all app versions that I could get my hands on. All the usual languages are included, I have recently included Hebrew and Arabic? as requested. If your language is not supported please tell me, and if possible send me a clockpackage.apk from a stock rom with your language (one that you are sure your language is included in)
This clock app is SGS3 themed where possible. See screenshots below.
I have also included a v2.4 +extras zip, this includes the Samsung digital clock widget (SGS3 themed), the Samsung Accuweather widget with transparent background, the Samsung memo app, and ThinkFree Office app.
If you dont want these extras please use the other zip - v2.4
If I have helped you at all, please hit the thanks button
or feel free to buy me a beer / donate
Please test it before you use it!
I will not be held responsible for people who wake up late and lose their job, or miss a flight, etc.
I wont be held responsible for people bricking their phones by doing dumb stuff, just follow the instructions.
Instructions
Copy to zip file to phone SDcard, reboot into CWM and flash, reboot, enjoy
If you are using a previous version of this clock apk please --> backup and delete the old file (HybridTWClock******.apk) from your /system/app folder and then install the new zip in CWM
If you are using CM9 or CM10 or a rom that already has a clock app (deskclock.apk), please note that you do not need to delete the existing clock app for this one to work, - but if you do delete the existing deskclock.apk this one will still work as a stand alone clock

Slim 2.9: ICS. It is really strange. I would not wrote anything if I would not be really certain about it. I even reinstall the rom. And it is really 100% repetable, tried several times.I tried to copy only app with root explorer and it is the same.

Hi, forgot to mention that the rom I am using currently is AOKP M4 Build28 with ported ICS TouchWiz4. It is running fine and wake me up on time today
Thank you for this!!
Works fine besides some menu issues not showing up normally. Places where I cant see the menu properly (as in a popup) are when I tap on Alarm repeat, Click on snooze to change the duration and repeat, and lastly when I tap on smart alarm to change the duration and tone.
Last thing, when i click on Alarm tone at the very bottom and click on "Go to My files" I get a tiny notification type popup saying "Application package com.sec.android.app.myfiles not found"
Sorry if you knew this and I just repeated it all.. Working fantastic though, really missed that smart alarm.

[Q] FPSE in CyanogenMod 9 (Circle button problem)

Since switching to CM9 (FX125), FPSE treats the circle button as another back button. It means that playing games in it is nigh impossible; pressing the circle button opens the emulator's menu.
On another thread, someone implied that CM9 might be the reason (because it doesn't use Sony's framework) and suggested modding system/usr/keylayout/keypad-zeus.kl to replace BACK with BUTTON_B. It didn't work for me, but I was wondering if anyone else with this app and running the same rom had encountered this problem, and if so how they fixed it?
Here you go
While I'm grateful for your efforts, that link brings up a 404 error. I then performed a Google search for the file's name and found this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1667922
...but both of those links no longer work. Strange.

Thats very strange :S
I posted the fix for a guy on the Paranoid Android thread yesterday and it worked fine
This one might work (the link will work but not sure if it will fix the O button issue). Its just a general cm9 rom gamepad fix. Make a nandroid backup before flashing just to be on the safe side. Let me know if it works

Then if that fix doesn't work it would be related to the rom itself not the rom. Known issue that gameloft games are trash on ics so if it affects a major company such as that there may be more. It has to do with the way the game developers implement the controls
Thanks for the info guys. I decided to just edit keypad-zeus.kl anyway to get FPSE working. I'll break other apps in the process, but I'll deal with that then.
I don't think the circle button works with ics on cm9 or any other ics

Cm10 or SuperVenon JB Build?

Cm10 or SuperVenon JB Build?
Thanks, basically which 1 is the most stable with the most things working? and what do you suggest? i just wanna try JB for a while
I'm currently using CM10 from FXP, it's great, speed is good, but there are still a bunch of things that need fixing.
- Camera doesn't work.
- Torch crashes.
- Some apps won't install (because of SD?)
- Gamepad button O acts as back in-game.
- Occasional random crashes/reboot.
I actually made a fix for the gamepad that works with emulators (haven't tried games yet since I can't install them), let me know if you want it. (basically just edit keylayout and set O button to BUTTON_B instead of BACK).
However if you want something stable, I suggest you wait for a while, both of these roms are very much alpha versions.

KK Carbon Rom Xperia S

Hello guys,
Who ever is looking for a good stable, good looking KK rom, you have to checkout Carbon rom.
This is better than all the other roms I've have tried, and believe me I've have tried quite a few roms.
It's smooth, customizations is the best part off this rom and can be done with ease.
Give it a try, and I promise you will not want to change it for another rom for some time.
Happy modding.
Carbon rom
Yea great rom but beta 4 is more bugged than beta 3 do not create pin lock screen because it got bugged to me and i couldn't unlock mobile, had to reinstall rom with cleaning all apps . By now i can say that games are also not working properly- can'y launch injustice. And pobably lot more Beta 3 is more stable by now
I am having some issues with this rom as well. Though I cannot really report in the original thread I will complain first here.
The black screen after the video is still happening. I don't really know what the problem is, but the work around I used before (Use GPU for 2D drawing and Disable GPU Hardware Overlays) is not working anymore. The moment you click in the very last option i mentioned, the screen goes black and bye bye my friends.
Let's see if I can make this message reach the creator of the ROM.
Thanks!
Keep talking (writing!) people.
I enjoy this kind of feedback personally, and i am on the verge on unlocking my bootloader in order to attempt 4.4
There is nothing more to hope for out of 4.1 builds i think.
I am currently on nature, which is absolutely fantastic and its creators are really active. However feature - wise and speed wise , it is not going to get any better than it already is...
Lets all hope that german exams will be over soon......if you know what i am talking about
Rayman's return eagerly awaited
s
Generally i aslo can't comment the dev topic so games aren't working, had some issue with the screen (coulnd't wake up) and do not create pin lock as i wrote in previos post becasue it got bugged (can"t type any number but i can hear vibration after typing numbers) and had to reinstall rom. Generaly beta 3 is more stable by now OH and i do not have any problems with camera sa others claim in the dev's topic
GREAT!
I can't post in the dev forums yet so here I am.
Thanks for the new rom! Works great! AOSPA isn't very stable for my Acro S atm so this will do for now. In fact this feels much more stable than the other AOSP roms so far. Good job and thank you, dev!
:victory::good:
I'm waiting for xperia overlay rom by ACHOTJAN 4.4.2
Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk
I have been using BETA4 for a couple of days now and I haven't found any of the bugs you guys are reporting so far. I was previously on OpenSEMC-U r2, and did a full wipe (everything but sdcard) before flashing. Also, I used the kitkat gapps from the cyanogenmod website.
Sometimes, however, the screen will randomly turn on when locked, but it could be caused by one of the apps I have installed, I don't know. [EDIT: It turns out it's not a bug, it's a feature of the rom so that the screen automaticly turns on when you pull it out of the pocket... quite handy I'd say.]
As for games... everything I've tried so far works. Subway Surfers, Dots, MyBoy, Temple Run 2, Dead Trigger 1, Granny Smith, Sprinkle all work for me.

Guys, anyone tried using the snapdragon battery guru app on Carbon Beta 5? I found it to slow down my phone a lot when it is in the learning stage, resulting in skips during audio playback and a lot of lag. so I uninstalled it before it could finish learning. Wondering if it's just my phone, or if the app is sh*t.
you can try greenify. should speed up your system and save some battery.

just installed Beta5 yesterday, coming from CM11 beta 3.1.
i think the rom is really great, though i cant find two specific options and i searched for like an hour or so.
specifically, im missing the option to use the volume buttons to change music tracks back and forth when the display is off and the other thing is the animation when you press the power button to shut down the display. it does this closing animation which i really hate.
