what stock u need, do u mean stock ROM, please be clear

Lots of stock available, but be clear on how your cooking your phone, roasting, grilling, frying?? I always find its easier to eat the s2 boiled servers with boiled potatoes and a side of fresh green salad. And remember, always white wine with this, red wine is for HTC phones!!
However if I have this all wrong and you want a stock firmware, search on forum or I will make it very easy, samfirmware is the place yo go (flash using Odin)

Would we be able to pull the eg30 modem from it? I am on eg12 and I keep missing calls when my Screen is off.
Thanks.

Kk guys, uploading to megaupload now...this is definitely gonna take a while
It should be a complete phone image, writing over every partition (as is the case with all Samsung tars)...there's definitely a modem in it, but as far as pulling it, I don't know, I'm not knowledgeable enough about pulling things out of tars.
I'm going to put a link in here first before posting it up in development because I need somebody to test it in Odin. We use a pre-packaged .exe here to flash phones, so Im not able to test it with Odin (though I can't foresee it failing as the tars have always been identical to the ones we use here at xda). So when it's up, please test and let me know.
Hang tight for a while, megauploads quoting the ETA at 2 hours....
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
I think it would definitely be cool to upload this for us. Easy way for everyone to flash back to factory. Might even root now if this is the correct stock file.
Actually scratch that ETA, our neighbors wifi is too slow, I'm gonna have to wait until I get home at 6. So sometime tonight

More importantly, this theoretically has the EG30 modem, something we don't have right now and no one has been able to obtain yet. Everything else we can make do with the pulled versions.
Love to have this simply as a back up as well until the next official tar is out. Thanks for when you get this up. And thanks for mirroring it Chris.

Uh.. I think there's a way, but that sounds complicated, and a difficult find for sure. Perhaps just look for a stock 4.0.4 verizon rom + radios + recovery and then relock bootloader via fastboot. Because there is no way you're locking your bootloader without fastboot... so you need to use it anyway, so just use the original method I linked.
Did you check make a nandroid backup?

But then you won't be stock... you'll be on a stock ROM but still custom recovery etc.
Just use the method Efrant posted and you'll be 100% stock. Its extremely easy, and you can be sure that nothing will go wrong because you'll be doing it manually yourself. Stop asking people to do things for you and just make it happen.

Wow. Just wow. I was about to post a .zip file for you but with that attitude... never mind.
Also... the stock image I downloaded from Google(imm76k) is a .tgz file... I thought it had to be a .IMG file??? And when I extracted it to desktop it gave me a .tar file... would the .tar file be the one I would use to flash via Odin back to stock??? And why do we not have a stickie to get back to stock, via Odin, via fast boot flash??? Lol. This thread is kinda haywire in my opinion compared to threads for other devices. Hahaha.. still VERY useful though..

I believe they are all great ROMs but there are some YOUR phone is gonna like more than others...that's the best answer I could give you. Luck homie.
That to me is an unaswerable question. Its like asking what undys should I wear today to your buddies. Not really a question anyone but yourself could answer lol.
Ok im teasing don't hate me lol. I guess what I mean to say is what ever rom feels that meets your needs.
I have flashed over 5 roms in the last 3 weeks and I finally found one that fits me. DS Rev.7.
I suggest to flash a few and see which one is your favorite. Or just keep flashing til you burn something out lol.
Hope this helps

I so agree with you bro.... the devs are just doing all of this for free. Which ever any of us use is just icing on their cake. To them it just means that their knowledge has paid off.
Too many choices out there to make one single decision. Carry 1-2-3-8 roms in ur card. Choose a diff one everyday of the week. And one day it will make its mark that the one your using will meet all your needs. Until then........ PLEASE!!!!! Read instructions and follow devs install guides. Their there for a reason. Don't be one of the many that post treads about how they didn't research and ended up with a paperweight.
Thats my .02¢
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda app-developers app
I don't mean to sound politically incorrect here. But I don't think devs do this for us at all. If I had the talents to dev my main reason for developing would be my own personal gains in being able to improve the experience with that shiny new device I've been wanting. Then after I would upload my work for anyone else if they wish. Hopefully cash in some sweet donations if my work is THAT good. But I will never ever believe that devs do it "for us". All devs are hackers. And hackers all hack for the same reasons. Personal gain and attention. Just my 2 cents.

Kernel

Im rooted on stock, I bought ROM Toolbox Pro but cant use any of the features because im on kernel 3.0.8-925100. Few questions about wife's sph-710

I have a few quick questions on this device, I personally deal strictly with htc devices but my wife loves this phone.
Ok a little background.
The phone has been flashed to boost. And is on stock Sprint gb27 jb, unrooted.
Where is a good thread to get this rooted? and after the recovery gets installed being it's flashed to boost anything I should not flash? Thanks guys

Just make sure you read, read, read. And your prl, being on Boost, will not change. And as long as you have a jb modem(gb27, gb28, or gc01), you'll have data. But if you flash a Sprint rom you'll have to research how to change mmsc in order to send mms. To avoid that, if your wife wants stock, flash a GC01(Boost) rom after you root. Here's mine, deodexed, debloated, and since it's stock, you can build it up to your wife's liking. Good luck, happy flashing:thumbup:

By the way, if you flashed the phone to Boost you're better off just keeping a stock Boost ROM handy.
That way you're not having to mod the MMS settings to get it to work right.
From there you can pick up a custom kernel/recovery and flash away.
(I personally recommend mine but there are others to choose from...)
Welcome and enjoy!
