Uh.. I think there's a way, but that sounds complicated, and a difficult find for sure. Perhaps just look for a stock 4.0.4 verizon rom + radios + recovery and then relock bootloader via fastboot. Because there is no way you're locking your bootloader without fastboot... so you need to use it anyway, so just use the original method I linked.

Did you check make a nandroid backup?

I would personally use the "flash" link in my signature - it's straight forward and step by step. But, if you want an Odin method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24552203.

Could one of you awesome developers out there just make a cwm version of the stock ICS image.. basically a .zip file that overites custom recovery with stock and takes you back to stock.... this would make life so easy!!!! Lol. Dwitherell made us a .zip file like this to take us back to stock on my last phone ( Samsung charge)...

But then you won't be stock... you'll be on a stock ROM but still custom recovery etc.
Just use the method Efrant posted and you'll be 100% stock. Its extremely easy, and you can be sure that nothing will go wrong because you'll be doing it manually yourself. Stop asking people to do things for you and just make it happen.

Wow. Just wow. I was about to post a .zip file for you but with that attitude... never mind.

Also... the stock image I downloaded from Google(imm76k) is a .tgz file... I thought it had to be a .IMG file??? And when I extracted it to desktop it gave me a .tar file... would the .tar file be the one I would use to flash via Odin back to stock??? And why do we not have a stickie to get back to stock, via Odin, via fast boot flash??? Lol. This thread is kinda haywire in my opinion compared to threads for other devices. Hahaha.. still VERY useful though..

I've just completed this. I too had that piece of garbage from Samsung. I've downloaded google official ITL41F files and flashed them through fastboot, manually by using these commands:
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-maguro-primekj10.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash radio radio-maguro-i9250xxkk1.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot -w update image-yakju-itl41f.zip
The result ? The ROM is just about the same as before, nothing really changed. Anyway, I hope this helps.
LE: Oh, I forgot. The recovery is back to stock after this. Good to know.
I did the same thing as lambda30, worked fine.
Thank you so much. That was exactly what I was looking for. Flashed as yakju firmware after unlocking...then relocked all good. Now I'm on the Google wagon. Muuuch better.

It does make a difference as long as permissions were f**ked up and couldn't install Wallet. Other than that and the fact that there are a couple of dozen ring tones missing, probably no difference at all.

Sorry if I offended you in any way, I didn't meant for that. yakju and still no Wallet love ? Hmm. Did you get it like this, or installed from Google ICS official images ?
Oh you're fine we're on the same page now at least! I bought it from an importer in Chicago (where I live), and that's just how it was. No wallet stock, no wallet in the market. I was able to flash the wallet from the Themes and Apps forum, however.
The one thing I can say now that it totally different, is when the phone powers up it actually looks for an update, where before on the samsung variant it never did that in the beginning after it boots up. So that is prolly why the other build model hasn't gotten an update.
This thread will do it for you, quick and painless.

Aha. Dunno what's the problem (probably other build no. or such), but you could try the official Google ICS images if you want. It should work with those. Just do backup of current installation... I've found it the hard way on my Nexus S.

i'm on the "mysid" version(the one that is on the Verizon model) and i get the update message when i turn the phone on and i got the welcome to your galaxy nexus email from the android team a couple hours after i activated.
so i don't think that has anything to do with who updates the phone.

[Request] ICS Libs/Bin

Story
So I had the Beat's pulled in for the Jellybean stock ROM's from the amazing Awesome ROM. Out of 2000+ downloads in the last 12 hrs only 4 managed to complain about having issues with it. Scenario being most of them were not deodexed (Used stock Google ROM)
Requirement?
PS: You need to be rooted to grab these files.
I need certain libs from those who are on the stock ICS 4.0.4, I've tried pulling the ones from the stock JB but he still ended up in a boot loop (No idea how) if someone can be kind enough to upload the following, would be extremely grateful, included the location as to where to find them.
system/lib/soundfx
-libaudiopreprocessing.so
-libbundlewrapper.so
-libreverbwrapper.so
-libvisualiser.so
-libdownmix.so
system/lib/hw
-audio.a2dp.default.so
-audio.primary.default.so
-audio.primary.tuna.so
-audio_policy.default.so
system/etc
-audio_effects.conf
-audio_policy.conf
Many thanks to the one with the patience to upload the following.
You can just pull these from a rom. Download an ICS rom.... Then find them.

I haven't tried twrp2 and don't know that I will. That's three confirmed errors on the download, so I'm going to assume the uploaded file is bad. It did seem small to me (146 megs) considering the other roms are over 400 mb (I think).

to be honest, the easiest way is to just borrow a pc for the initial rooting using odin. afterwards, you can just use adb on your mac to copy files to and from your phone.
Just install a 30 day trial of Fusion or Parallels, load up Windows and you're on your way.
Just download everything you need onto a flash drive walk into a best buy Walmart or target and do it there. Takes 5 minutes
