I've had my One X for only a week and a day now. This morning, I was in my settings switching on my wifi (nothing new), and when my fingers touched the edges of the screen a red frame kind of flashed on it :/ and then i was in personalize, trying to see whether it had anything to do with the skin, but it didn't, and it happened again anyway. and it's happening in random places. I don't know what it is :S Has anyone had the same problem? And do you know where it is from and how to fix it? Thank you

Thank you for your help. It seemed to have gone, but it happened again when I tried to go on settings to make sure it was gone
Same problem here. No root, no unlocked bootloader, just stock one x. Nothing checked in developer options, restart didn't help. No idea, what this could be. Happens randomly.

Thank you Thank you very much! I just registered to forum I just to say thank you. It was flickering all around the screen. Then I realized that I checked "Show Screen Updates" from developer options. Everything is great now.
restart the phone
I had the same problem with the red frame flickering on the phone screen.
Un-check all the options in the user interface as already said above by other members ( Thanx a lot for that, I was gonna take my phone to the service center for this before reading this thread!
But if it still happens restart the phone once after that! worked like a charm for me!
I have the same problem. At full brightness my display is flikering since I changed kernel to NCX 0.99a (my rom was Viper X 2.6.0). All boxes in user interface are unchecked and I tried full wipe and factory reset yet. Also I changed Rom to latest Version of ARHD with stock Kernel.
Anybody an idea how to solve the problem?

Every time I make a call, my phone vibrates twice when it connect, and whenever i take it away from my face, and when I disconnect, and sometimes just for fun it seems.
Everyone keeps asking why they hear a duck when I'm talking to them.
it has nothing to do with notifications, and I don't see any settings in the phone settings that have worked, or look like there is any chance of them working.
PLEASE tell me there is a way to make this stop. I don't want to go back to Sense, but I can't take this annoyance any more.
Only thing I can think of is to go into settings>call settings> and uncheck

I had the same issues earlier on in the nightlies. I never could get it to go away until I just did a full wipe and fresh install of the rom.
I guess that's in the cards for me then, since none of the vibrate settings anywhere have any affect on this.
I guess I was/am due for a full wipe, so I'll give that a shot
thanks all

I would suggest the vr superwipe. Its in the dev section. It wipe everything 3 times and you just flash it like a rom or theme.

Just wanted to share for the people that arnt aware.
Hit menu, developer settings.
1. Force GPU rendering.
2. Limit background processes to 3 or 4 (this will need to be set on every reboot).
3. Turn both animations off.
I say may work on aokp, because I havnt used it yet.
This may turn into a full blown "battery saving tips" thread, but atm its for ICS.

I'm sure most people know, but for the slow ones like me, would you mind a little how-to for your tips? I can do the limit background processes, but don't know how to do the others...
Thanks!

The tips 1-3 are all in the same menu, developer settings. Sorry I couldnt post the image, using xda app, not allowing me to, but theres the direct link.

LOL , thanks Adrian, and yeah Im about tired of the new advanced 3g in Atl. Better speeds outside maybe, less signal penetration, definitely.

Sadly that's where the advantages of GSM shine
I just went through the animations, it doesn't make sense why people would want to be turning at x10 its redunk lol
anyone know if in ICS theres an option like in GB to turn 'background data' off?

Yep. You can either shut the 3G off from: Settings > Wireless and Network > More > Mobile Networks > 3G data [checkbox].
OR you can just turn the background data off like you said: Settings > Accounts and Sync > ON/OFF switch in the upper bar.
Hope this helps. You can also use Juice defender or something like it to stop the background data automatically and let it connect once every 15, 30, 60 minutes or so...
Today my phone, for no known reason is trying to download this "tmm.jpg,ttm.jpg" I cannot not stop the process as yet, this is what I have tried...
1. Long and short pressing the icon (nothing happens)
2. Toggling on and off wifi and network data
3. Restart
4. Turn on and off
5. Stopping all running apps
6. 3 & 4 again
Yet it is still trying to download, I have no idea what tmm.jpg,tmm.jgp is, but, I assume some kind of picture file, maybe something to do with android or the 3 branding on my phone?
I am on 3 network UK and yesterday I upgraded to 1.28.771.9 the latest 3 branded software.
Not only is this problem annoying, but it is killing my battery. Please can someone help I don't want to factory restore if I don't have to.
Here is a screen shot...

Weird, it has finally stopped downloading on its own, after about 2 hours?!! Not sure what it was, but should this happens to anyone else just wait, it takes a long time whatever it is.

I've had that prob a few times in the past and found that going into settings > apps > all > download manager > clear data + cache gets rid of the gremlins
Thanks I'm sure you're post will help others. Fortunatly for me this issue hasn't returned, touch wood.

Nothing to do with 3, look's like you went on a website with some sort of virus. If that download has completed, I'd be extremely weary. I recommend Kaspersky or maybe even AVG like mentioned above.
Hi all,
Just installed avast anti virus from the market, it says my phone is virus free so that's a relief.

Hello, I've got a weird error that I don't even know how to begin tracking down. Not sure if this is an ICS issue, an app issue, or a device (hardware) issue.
Several times now, I get a problem were, after a reboot, all the text on my home screen - names for apps and text within widgets is mangled somehow. Like pixels inverted, or boxed over, etc. (see screenshot)

The first couple of times this happened, a single reboot made it go away. However with my latest occurrence, I've rebooted several times without a fix.
EDIT: It seems like my data connection may also require examination? Since on the 3rd or 4th reboot I was in my office with a solid WiFi connection (versus previous reboots I was in my car en-route), the problem has now gone away again.
My initial reboot this morning was as a quick-fix attempt at an absent data connection. Guess I'm off to research these "radios" everyone keeps on about...
EDIT 2: Ok, perhaps ignore the above. After a reboot made this go away, it has now come back spontaneously (i.e. just noticed it sitting in the cradle with the error again - no reboot this time.) CRUUUUD.
Are you using a custom Kernel? Some 'Overclock' the GPU to 512MHz, while Stock is 384MHz. Some devices can't handle the increase and cause screen artifacts. Post your Kernel details and I'm sure someone will point you in the direction of another Kernel if this is the case.
Not that I know of - should be all stock, since I haven't rooted or unlocked anything yet (just got the phone a couple of weeks ago).
Thanks for the help.
Stock launcher? Or using nova/apex etc?

Hi,
Another thread...:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646985
Nothing related to GPU overclock...just about this possibility...
Looking in different threads in Q&A/General.
If you are using the stock launcher...I think I saw a topic with this weird issue with the stock launcher...but I can not find it anymore
In any case clear data/cache of your current launcher, reboot and see...If you're on another launcher than stock,reinstall...
I speak only for the launcher issue.
Yep, stock launcher. Thanks for the other thread.
Seems to be at bay now. Will keep an eye on it.
Just got a OnePlus 11 and noticed this rainbow screen when phone is charging. Is anyone else getting that too? I can't seem to figure out how to stop this or change it.
Thank you.

It’s a screensaver. I Do not have this device or brand, but try searching settings for screen saver.
I have looked in all sections. There is no screensaver section. I had thought it was perhaps Google Ambient mode but it was not that either. Just weird.
Is it Day Dream?
Settings > Display > Day Dream and press off
No such setting. Still looking for a solution.
Did you ever find a solution? I have the same phone and same issue. No daydream no screen saver, can't find a setting to turn it off or change it.

Nope, this is right out of the box it started doing it.
Almost looks like when screen is messed up...try power down and plug in charger...see if get circle with lightening bolt
Clearly a software issue. Maybe a stock or third party launcher or different app settings, battery monitor/manager app?
Hey! Did you manage to solve it?
I'm having the same issue. The preferred behavior would be to turn of the screen with the same settings as when is not charging.
I didn't find any screen saver/ambient mode/colours option.
Thanks in advance!

Nope, I have it disabled.
That option keeps the screen on when it's charging, but what it's happening is that the rainbow screen saver (I think the name is "colour") is showing up. With that option, the screen saver never shows up.
But thanks for your help!
If the item is not in the settings, then you can launch it through the Activity Launcher
