Getting alt carriers (PagePlus) working on ROM with broken dialer codes - Epic 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've been flashing ROMs for a while now, I usually have no problems getting voice and data working for my Epic 4G on pageplus network.
However, I've recently flashed to CM9 and then to CM7, and I can't get data working on either of these. I've googled and it seems that all AOSP-based ROMs like Cyanogenmod are broken, because they don't support dialer codes (i.e. ##8778#, ##33284#, etc...)
With the same PRL settings, other stuff I configured in QPST, I can get any stock ROM working with data and voice on Pageplus, but once I switch to Cyanogenmod, the data functionality cannot connect.
Has anyone found a fix to this? Can you get CM-based ROM to work on anything else besides Sprint?

Then you should know questions belong in Q&A

Did you try this thread for some help? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1622055

I have similar problem. My epic 4g phone is working fine for pageplus with stock rom , even data is working but slow (1x). But the problem is that any ICS rom doesn't work for data. I visited and tested those ways; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1657994
Don't you have any idea to make my pageplus epic working for data?
Now, I came back stock rom and waiting for any idea.
Thanks in advance.

No 3G while running latest CM10!

I just got my S3 on Wednesday and didn't waste any time rooting it and flashing CyanogenMod 10. I like everything so far, but i'm having trouble getting 3G, or any mobile data.
It was working fine stock, and even after rooting, but after flashing CM10 I have no luck with it.
I go to school where i'm always roaming, but it's included in my plan. In my Mobile Data settings i've got it set to connect to mobile data even when i'm roaming, but I am never able to get it to actually work, whereas on my old Evo 4G running CM7, I had no problems with 3G service.
Has anyone else had this problem? I have too few posts to post in the development board, so it said to post here.
Thanks for any help!

I tried that and had no luck. I decided to just go ahead and load up the last stable build of CM10, M2. I did that and I wasn't getting any service at all, so I flashed back to my nightly build 20121107, just to find out I was no longer getting any service on that either.
I decided to restore my original TouchWiz backup file, and now i'm not even getting service on that.
The Baseband and Build in the About Phone menu both include LJ7 in there, so I don't know where the hell my problem could be. If anyone has any advice, I'd really appreciate it. My GS3 is practically useless at the moment. I've also heard my IMEI may have been reset to all zeroes, but i've checked that and it's displaying normally.
Try updating your profile. Had a simular issue on my Epic 4g, couldn't get 3g to work even on stock, but after updating profile it worked.

For me, the system update/update profile/update PRL options don't even exist. Galaxy s3 on sprint running cm10 stable

you have to flash back to a TouchWiz ROM
Went to settings & set wireless network to cdma only not lte. (Presuming you live in a Non lte area) that was my fix as well. And I also checked all roaming options as well. Ive been running cm10/aokp/TW roms without data loss. Try a fresh reflash after wiping data, cache, dalvik cache, and format system.

Moar mb1 rom

IM currently downloading that MOAR ROM and also making a Nandroid of my current ROM. Im wondering if anybody has tried this ROM on a Sprint GS3 since every ROM that Ive ever tried which includes Multi-Window has not allowed my DATA or 4G to work AT ALL!!!!!
I would hate to go through the trouble of backing up and installing a new ROM just to find out that my data wont work.
Im hoping anybody can tell me whether this ROM actually works on a Sprint GS3 and confirm 4G runs as it should. Any replies would help Thank in advance.
It works just fine
...if you're having those issues then somethings wrong with what you're doing, not the roms, or else no one would download any of 'em
Whats your wiping procedure?
You have your network settings correct, lte/cdma/evdo. Also what baseband version are you on mb1? There is definitely something happening with the user and not the ROMs, what ROMs have you tried?

Radio Data Wifi HELP

Hey all,
Ok, I started having issues a few days ago with my SMS/MMS and I notice at the same time I was getting poor Wifi / Radio service. (Custom ROM's)
Well now it's gotten worse, I just attempted 2 different ROM's (both cm10.2 based) and was unable to get a Radio signal, Wifi wouldn't function at all, and no data at all. I came from a fully functional stock (ZVC). I did try switching some settings in Data / Wifi and etc back and forth as well as reboot and etc, also tried a freegee fix / restoring of the EFS and nothing helped.
Can't really stay on the ROM with no service as I do need to be able to use my device, so I am gonna have to restore my Stock img and perhaps if some help is posted I can give it another shot.
Thanks all!

This may not help, but it won't hurt either. Try flashing zvb modem. Look in the teeny bin thread.
Zvc and zvb modems seem to be the same. But who knows.

[Q] SPH-L900 Flashed to Cricket: Unable to get service with custom ROM

I just got a Note 2 SPH-L900 (Sprint) it has a bad ESN for sprint but my intention was to flash it to cricket. I had noticed the same thing before the flash over to Cricket (I was messing with it over wifi etc and I did flash cm10.2 nightly just for the heck of it, then back to stock) but I could not verify service since I am not a Sprint customer. However the issue seems to not be carrier-specific.
When I flash custom ROMs I do not have service. No call, no data, nothing but wifi. The signal bar is empty and I get a big "?" Where the carrier is supposed to be. Also under "status" there is many blank spaces, no phone number, no carrier etc. Upon factory restore (which was done 2 or 3 times to ensure a bad ROM flash was not the culprit) the service icons and settings come back as before and everything works well.
I have tried two separate ROMs that give me the same issue: cyanogenmod 10.2 nightly
Rootbox jelly bean
Anyone know what may be wrong? I do not think this has to do anything with the flash over to cricket, since before it was doing the same thing. Any setting/procedure that I may be missing?
Edit: I did not do anything with kernels. My stock ROM android version is the 4.1.2

Well, i got it working now!!! i did reflash the modem to the latest MC2 version, then installed a custom kernel, Sleshepics the governor 1.7.
Then i reflashed the CM10.2 nightly and i magically have signal and data working.
SO EXCITED!
trying to flash my galaxy note ii sph-l900.. need help
i went to a couple of places and they said it couldnt be done.. it has low signal ... it only works on certain areas..
need help
Well it all depends on your signal. I live in Austin TX and cricket has great service here, with some dead spots out in the country (no big deal). 3g speeds are as fast as Sprint's 4g LTE.
The problem I was having had to do when I was flashing custom ROMs I was lising service.
I updated the modem drivers. It did the trick. I havent list service since and ive flashed like 6 ROMs so far.

[Q] [Solved] Does Anyone Have LTE on CM11 M12?

Hello all,
I am a newbie to rooting and flashing ROMs to Android. I have a Virgin Mobile SIII (SPH-L710) running Cyanogenmod 11 M12. My custom recovery is Philz Touch Home Recovery. I really like CM, but I only have 3G coverage. I've done a lot of Googling, but haven't found a clear solution. Does anyone know a fix for this? Would flashing a new modem, fiddling with the APNs, or upgrading to the latest nightly (or unofficial CM12!) fix this? Thanks in advance!

You need to flash the APN fix by moped_rider, BoostMobile and VirginMobile users have to do this on AOSP based ROMs. It's the same file for both. You can get it here:
https://www.mediafire.com/folder/u2eom6707846q/Boost_APN_Fix
Thanks for the quick response! All I have to do is flash the zip in recovery, right? I will see if this works tomorrow when I get in an LTE area.

Yup, that's all you gotta do
I tried out the new APN fix, and now whenever I'm on coverage, a message on the button portion of the screen pops up saying "no APN specified on this device." Is there any way to fix this? It won't go away and heavily lags my phone. Also, I still don't have LTE.
Go to voice dialer and say "open apns" and make sure they are in there, sometimes you gotta flash the file a few times to get it to stick, if it's still giving you a problem I'll upload the one that I ah email that I know works

I checked, there are 2 apns: boost mobile LTE and boost mobile ehrpd. However, I reflashed it, and the problems consist.
I tried flashing the old one too from media fire (the one labeled r1), and it didn't work either. I'm not sure if this matters, but I have Ad Block Plus installed. Also, I noticed my MMS isn't working either, but it didn't work before I flashed the fix.
Fixed it! I followed a guide from MopedRyder himself: http://androidforums.com/threads/mod-universal-lte-virgin-mobile-apn-fix-wip-cm-aosp-4-4-x.840298/ basically the same thing as the boost mobile package, but made for virgin mobile. Thanks guys!
