Headphone Issue - HTC One X

Hi guys, I got a one X about 2 weeks ago, after the 1.28 update my phone stopped recognising when I plug headphones in, this happens with all my headphones including the pack in ones. If I reboot the phone with the headphones plugged in they will work fine, if they are working and I unplug them to use the speaker the phone thinks they are still plugged in.
I have tried it on stock 1.28 and 1.29 and ARHD 5.1.0 and I'm having the same issues.

Stock T-Mobile 1.28 (update yesterday)
No issues here , on both 1.26 and 1.28.
Keep you ear to the ground - If it's not a widespread issue I would get a replacement.

[help] A100 doesnt recognize headphones

The last week I updated to [LEAK][ICS 4.0.3] Acer_AV041_A100_1.012.00_WW_GEN1 and the yesterday tonight doesnt recognize headphones. I did hard reset and nothing.
I'm guessing you get sound without headphones. Is this correct?
Do you have a bluetooth speaker, or headset you could try(or a friends)?
I'm unsure of what the issue with your sound is, BUT I think knowing those two things would help figure it out.
I would say if you get sound from the internal speakers, and from bluetooth, it could be a hardware issue with the headphone jack, or something similar. If you dont get sound in one or more of the other instances then it could indicate a software issue or another hardware component.
If the device is under waranty and it seems to be a hardware issue I would consider getting Acer to fix it. In which case you may want to downgrade back to stock before you ship it.
Hope this sound issue was just a temporary thing that is already resolved. Let us know what happens
I had this problem 2 months ago. After some software experimention I determined it was very likely to be hardware. I called Acer support and got an RMA. Just under two weeks from me dropping the unit off at Fedex to when it came back repaired. Work order in the box said IO card replaced. No problems since.
Same sound problem
I have a similar problem.
I have the latest available android installed on the Iconia a100 (Acer_AV041_A100?1.037.00_WW_GEN1, ICS 4.0.3)
and I had no problem with the headphone sound until last week. I have used it regularly, almost every other day.
Since then headphone icon does not show up when I connect it to the device. Sound is correct via the speakers but it is not an option on public transport.
I have tried several headphones, to switch the device on/off, to increase/decrease volume, to switch on with headphone plugged in but nothing happens.
I have checked the plug as far as I could: there is no dust or anything unusual in the hole.
I could continue with a factory reset (after archiving everything) but I am not very optimistic about that.
Is factory reset could help? Is it a hardware issue or am I missing something?
Thx.

did you try using different headphones? And are you running stock or custom?
Hi I've got the same problem.
My headphones (brainwavz m1) aren't working with my phone. I'm running official firmware 15.4.A.1.9. The official sony headphones which i've got with package works without problem. I have this problem since previous update (about 10 june 2014 i think) i thought that it's software bug, and i had hope that they will fix it with next system update, but i was wrong. I restored fabric settings and it was fine for about 1 hour after that time the problem is still occurring.
Any ideas how to fix it? i'm thinking that's a system bug but i'm totaly green in this topic.
Same problem here.
Up until I was sticking with the original ROM (4.1) everything was fine and every headset worked (with/without mic, no matter the brand).
Now on 5.0 (Cyanogen) and only headsets with mic are working (again, no matter the brand).
It has to be a SW problem, but I have no idea where to start. Someone willing to investigate / explain?

Hey, I had a similar problem when first purchasing the phone. Some cables (CTIA) are not compatible therefore wont provide any sort of audio. Try to use headphones that work with the device (Sony ones will work).
Hope this helps

Loose headphone jack

Hi I've noticed a problem that my last htc one m7 doesn't have.
When I plugged the headphone in the phone the jack is a little bit loose.
if I pull the headphone wire is released by one notch and it sounds only the right ear.
It's not a big problem but I've tried also with onether htc one m8 and it shoes the same exact problem.
Do you know a way to fix it?
Hate to bring this back from the dead, but I've got the same issue with my M8. Before I go through support with HTC, did you ever discover a solution?

Weird issue with my original htc one m8 ear phones?

Hello,
So for some strange reason when I plug in the original earphones that came with the htc one m8 they don't get recognised. They use to be recognised but not anymore for some weird reason. If I plug a different set of earphones in the phone they get recognised. So I thought it must be the ear phones. I plugged them into my laptop and another phone and they worked, so what's going on?
Has my device decided to not like the earphones anymore or what's going on? They both work fine but not when they are together for some reason. Any ideas guys?
Thanks.

Stereo audio stopped working with USB-C to audio jack adapter on latest Oreo ROM

Hi,
since updating to MIUI 9.5.6 (Oreo) ROM on my Mix 2 I have been facing some weird issues. I already posted about the lack of fast charging anymore (another thread on the forum - unfortunately it appears I'm the only one experiencing this).
Yesterday, after a long time I decided to plug in my earphones to listen to some music (using the OEM USB-C to audio jack adapter that came with the phone) and realized that the audio was only coming out of one of the earpieces.
I have tried un-plugging/re-plugging, inverting the USB C cable, restarting the phone even a different adapter, but in all cases the audio only comes out of one earpiece.
interestingly with the other adapter (which I have used only twice before) the earpiece that works is switched, so instead of getting audio in the right earpiece with the OEM adapter, when I use the other adapter the audio comes through the left earpiece.
just putting it out there in case someone else experienced any issues since their upgrade or have suggestions on how to fix this issue.
I would rather not try a factory reset … but willing to downgrade to Android 7.x if there is a way to do that without losing all data.
is there anyway to check if the USB-C port on the device is corrupted/messed up?
