Has anyone had any success getting Netflix to work?

Last time I checked, you have to edit the device name in /system/build.prop from Kindle Fire to Amazon Kindle Fire.

Second. Yes. You just need hashcode's newest kernel. Try AOKP M5. I use Netflix all the time as I don't have TV.

Same Deal
I have AOKP Build 38 on my Kindle with TWRP 2.1. I can open Netflix, and get to my browse, however, when I choose a video to watch it goes to the red "Netflix" screen and says loading..... and never loads. What gives?
dunno about AOKP but there are plenty of roms here at xda that netflix works perfectly on full list here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1859851

I have Cyanageon Mod 10 installed on my Kindle Fire and when I play games (for example GTA 3) the accelerometer always goes left. But I've seen that on many devices. What I'm having a problem with is touch controls. When I'm in a car and I'm pushing on the gas pedal and go to use the steer button, the steer button doesn't stop when i let go! It keeps steering! Same thing with on screen analog stick. And minecraft does this too. And also screen cast only records a black screen, annoys the crap out of me. Thanks!

Is there anyway around restoring everything that I have? I didn't get all my apps from the play store either..

If you haven't wiped everything yet you could try a dirty flash where you just wipe cache and dalvik, flash new ROM and that should keep all your apps and stuff. There is always a chance that a dirty flash could mess something up (software wise) but the worst case scenario if that would happen is just wiping everything (except SD card) and clean flashing the ROM. The dirty flash is worth trying to avoid the headache of restoring all your apps.
I've had similar troubles, and I think it's because of the Fire only supporting 2-point multi-touch unlike iPads and higher-end devices supporting many more points.
I am purchasing a demo Kindle Fire HD and would like to root it and install a custom ROM, specifically one like i have on my original Kindle Fire, the MoDaCo custom ROM. The reason? I like having access to all my Amazon purchases along with my Play Store purchases? Main reason I need both is I purchased Order & Chaos Online from the Play Store and the Amazon store and only the one from the Amazon Store works on the original Kindle Fire, the one from the Play Store installs but crashes to desktop, no matter what ROM I installed. That is why I must have both so I can install the Kindle Fire version from the Amazon store.
Is there a MoDaCo for Kindle Fire HD 8.9 or something similar?

Short answer NO. Long answer, the primary development for the HD 8.9 appears to have fallen on the very capable shoulders of Hashcode. At the present time his work is in early Beta, No sound, No camera, other issues besides requiring you jump through a few hoops to install. I would recommend that you root your Kindle, and live with that for the short term.

It is a demo unit so I will need a ROM, any suggestions?

You have two choices, stock OR CM 10.1 without sound, hdmi and 4g.
So stock is full featured?

LOLOLOL... OH God... oh man... If that was a joke, it was funny one.
Just updating this thread as Hascode's build is getting its way near perfection by the day.
Camera, audio, MIC and Bluetooth are working now.
It is not complete yet for sure but is definitively a daily driver and way better than Amazon stock.
Hi, I've been using Hashcode's CM11 build for my Kindle Fire HD 7 for a while now and generally it's great but IMDB and a couple of other apps won't load.
Looking at the logs, the Stack Trace log says "You are trying to run this app on the wrong device". I know that sound pretty obvious but I've used IMDB on other CM builds on my Kindle for a while. Any ideas for how I can get it to work?
I have 4 different implementations of Kodi. 1 on a gbox, one on my PC and then 2 fire sticks (5.0.5.1). All of them are set up identically - Kodi 16.1 + Exodus 1.3.2 + real-debrid.
I have noticed that the fire stick set-ups show much fewer available streams than my PC and gbox set-up. I discovered this because one show (Cosmos, Carl Sagan - I'm a dork) has no streams available on either of the fire sticks but when I pull it up on my PC or gbox, there are over 50 streams listed, 10 of them are real-debrid.
What is it about the fire stick that would block streams where other platforms do not?
I stumbled onto my own solution quite by accident. It turns out that for whatever reason the Kodi installs on fire stick do not automatically include the URLResolver add-on. I found a .zip online, pushed it using adbFire and installed it from Kodi ("install from .zip file" option) but I'm guessing this thing resides on a repo somewhere and could also be installed that way.
BE SURE TO RESTART KODI AFTER YOU INSTALL THE ADD-ON.
(I restarted the whole fire stick but just Kodi will probably be enough.)
Im having the same problem but am unsure how to add a URLresolver, can you explain as im new to this and havnt a clue!
Hmm interesting, I will try this

Hello,
I previously rooted and customized my Fire TV Stick 4k using the following post back in July of this year:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/fire-tv/general/customizing-fire-tv-stick-4k-mantis-t4025723
Now I'm trying to figure out if there is any way so that when the Fire TV boots up, it opens up a particular app every time. Does anyone know what is needed so that my Fire Stick will boot into a specific app each time it is powered up?
Thanks in advance!

You can do this by download "launch on startup apk" or "launch on boot apk"
here :
Download Launch on Boot 1.1.2 APK | APKdownload.com
On Google TV, there was a way to launch a specific app when the device booted. By default the device would display the TV stream, making the OS feel more like an overlay on top of your television than something completely isolated.Android TV will simply just display the launcher on a
