Hi guys
Just noticed one thing. I previously had a constant quadrant score of 4800 to 4900 on the 1.26 firmware. Since I updated to 1.28, the score has become 4300 on the average. Has anyone else noticed that ?
Thanks

Quadrant is very unreliable in bench marks, use antutu gives much more reliable results, my antutu score is always 10.5-10.6 k highest I got was 11.4 but I closed all back ground stuffs had the phone sitting on a fan to keep it cool lol.
Also as stated benchmarks mean nothing in the real world.

Quadrant only supports 2 cores, you should be testing via AnTuTu
Its a more through test, as nice comparisons with a lot of other devices , graphs and a breakdown of the results too - simply put, its awesome.

Well I think I'm correct in saying Quadrant will ALWAYS give a higher result for the S4 for the simple reason it's such an amazing dual-core chip. I think I remember hearing somewhere the Snapdragon wins at quadrant, the Tegra wins at Antutu.
And mate, your completely arrogant. The SGSII scored amazingly at quadrant, but I was really, really disappointed with the gaming on it.

To right, benchmarks mean nothing in the real world, your average joe cares not about how fast a CPU can calculate numbers.

Quadrant is a joke. 2 Cores and VSync is activated (you are constantly at 60FPS with your One X in every single test). Don't know why it's still being used.
Btw: I also got nearly 12100 with stock rom and 1.28 *yaay*
not true
I agree that Benchmarks might not be the best way to judge a phone's performance, yet it is still a good indicator of how a phone stands in front of others.
I own an HTC One X, and to say that those benchmarks are totally pointless is plain stupid. a Higher score is generally indicative of better hardware
Look at our HOX compared to the SGSIII, the SGSIII scored higher, and upon analyzing the score it turned out that this is only because of the modified Mali-400, the CPU performance is the same, and this is quite true as both have an ARM9 architecture.
Going back to the topic of this thread, the benchmark dropped upon upgrading from 1.26 to 1.28 from 4900 to 4300, and this is indicative that the new software might have fixed something at the expense of other. This could be known upon inspecting the scores of the individual tests in Quadrant (CPU, graphic, mem, I/O).
Unfortunately i can give you the numbers of 1.28, if someone has 1.26 and can post the numbers, that would give us an indication of what went wrong.
Thanks

We've just told you, Quadrant doesn't even support more than 2 cores - Quadrant scores are INVALID for both the SGS3 & the HOX.
Here is AnTuTu result, which DOES support all cores & does a much through test too.

SGS3: 11492
My own HOX: 12039

Try closing all apps in task manager, then allow the phone to sit for a few mins on idle with screen off, then go straight to AnTuTu & benckmark.
This should rule out any software or temperature interference.

Just installed the new TNZ Blend V 2.6.0 with Desperados' v 1.3.0 Kernel and it is my favorite setup so far and I have tried several. Scored 6697 on Quadrant overclocked to 1600 and this is over 500 points higher than any other score so far for what its worth. Keep up the great work Team Nocturnal!!

Exactly plus most people probably dont know that dev can "placebo" quadrants on their rom , not saying this dev did, just saying they can make it so it shows you scored a 10k but really it was only a 3k.

Yes quadrant isn't written to handle quad-core yet. It only recently got the update for dual-core. Besides, it's not a true indication of a phone's power.

i think we need to make a thread regarding glowball
a question to everyone testing this
do you have settings > power > power mode, in sense 4?
in Sense 3.5 you can choose from three different power modes one of them is "high performance" which locks out any power related scaling

The GPU in the exynos processor has more power than the tegra. As it uses a smaller architecture.

Neither does stating that. Honestly there is no exact proof that either is noticeably faster. Both phones are 1.4/5 GHz quad-core devices. Yes the S3 has more RAM and a faster GPU but 2GB of memory isn't needed for this type of android device and it actually doesn't make it faster. Unlike the S3 gpu the tegra 3 has built in ram for the GPU (S3 uses integrated ram)
. The HOX also has a 5th deep sleep core and if you have seen the sense 4.1 deep sleep you will be amazed.
I could see the HOX have better benchmarks than the S3 but that doesn't mean it's faster or better. The devices are too different yet equal to compare and choose which one is better.

butt isnt the S3 all about benchmarks? the Mali400 is the only reason why the s3 ever gets better benchmarks even though the A9's are clocked slower, quad clocks are the same. The Mali400 is a great gpu but it uses integrated memory and the only reason i would ever say the Tegra 3 is better than the Exynos 4412 is because it has a dedicated GPU and a 5th idle core...... though i can only imagine samsung having a quadcore device with a dedicated gpu and a 5th companion core (nexus device hehehe).
Dont forget to tell that our oc is for daily use, not only to do a great benchmark and then go back to stock kernel.

Nice try
Htc One X Venom ViperX Rom + faux123 s kernel + Rezound Mod
Mine got 5912 on stock rom, no tweaks or anything, just root. Havent seen any stock SGS3 reach that score yet. All the HOX needed is proper optimizations for its SoC like samsung has to prove it can match and even beat its flagship in some areas
So, better screen, better camera, beats, better ui (imo) faster updates due to htc's track record vs sammy, more mainstream SoC for better game support and general compatibity for the future due to N7 using the same chip. Do we really have to feel threatened by the SG3? Its a hype machine just like the fruit phone

Hi there,
It seems like everyone has 6000 in Quadrant on his One X , using Android Revolution HD, wich is stock.
I don't seem to get higher then 5350 in Quadrant, same thing happens for Antutu benchmark where I get around 12500,
and else get like 13000. I did a quick comparison and the cpu scores somehow looks lower then others.
I have a variant 1, stock boot.img android revolution HD 9. Anyone got an explanation / fix for this?
Thanks
Well, i heard that people say that Quadrant is not stable and chaining score all the time. I tested it and it's true Quadrant is not the best benchmark app. I can recommend you AnTuTu it's much more accurate and better!
It seems that my I/O score is half the score of someone else, I get around 5k instead of 10k
