Issues restoring RUU Stock - Desire General

Help,
My desire rebooted earlier today and stayed on the white HTC startup screen. What ever i did, i could not get passed this screen.
I therefore applied the stock RUU update 2.29, however during install a triange appears after the progress bar. On cancelling the update, i have an error stating not all partitions could be updated in particular the Radio.
I have tried the RUU several times, sometimes it does complete the full flash, however during restart, it stays on the white screen,
Has the phone died?

It was a bad to cancel update! For me it seems you got a radio-brick, which is currently unfixable.
You could try to flash 2.3.3 RUU from Fastboot. With any luck, it will boost your phone back to life.

I have managed to get the RUU to fully install, however i still cant get passed the white HTC startup screen.
Its weird that if i repeat the RUU update, sometimes the radio partition will flash, other times it wont, and it then goes into recovery mode. Once in recovery mode the radio will flash, however the phone will still not start up.

does your phone have other hboot than stock? in order to flash original ruu you have to downgrade hboot first. That's what happened to me. If that's the case there's a way but I can't find it right now as I am away from my computer...

Unrevoked went bad

Hi, I've got a big problem: I've just received my desire back from the shop (the power button was broken, it hs been replaced, but they didn't updated the fw or changed anything else), I've got an original 2.1 fw on the phone, and I wanted to root it (before taking it to the shop it was rooted, then I unrooted it, because I still had warranty on it), so I've runned the unrevoked 3.21.
It started, the phone rebooted, then the program said: flashing recovery, and the phone turned to the white background htc boot screen. It was like tath for 10 minutes, with no changes, than the unrevoked program stoped.
No change on the phone, I've taken off, then put back the battery and restarted the phone, but it was stucked in the boot screen.
I can go into bootloader mode, and I was able to reflash the original fw (RUU_Bravo_HTC_WWE_1.21.405.2_Radio_32.36.00.28U_4 .06.00.02_2_release_126984_signed), wich was successfully flashed on the phone, but there is no change, phone stuck at the boot logo.
What can I do?
.. You didn't have patience enough, should've waited longer.
It's supposed to reboot several times - and takes a little while.
I don't know what you can do, try it again maybe?..

you made a rookie mistake... WHEN YOU PUSH THAT ROOT BUTTON, there is no turning back... you can't abort in mission. I have no idea if you can fix now :/
It hasn't rebooted..
I've run unrevoked several times before, and never had problems.
Now it was stuck for 10minutes at the htc logo for the first time, so there wasn't any "many reboot", and the unrevoked program on my pc just shut down itself after that, without completing the rooting process..
Now I've tried to flash several ofw-s, and I always succsefull, but the phone can't boot, still stuck at the htc logo.
I'm wondering, can I take it back to the htc service and say, that the original fe update bricked it and will they repair it under warranty? (there is no sign of the unrevoked process, because I've changed the ofw like 15times since then)
I would try another RUU first. If you are getting into recovery you should be able to flash an RUU. That would update your hboot etc and as far as I know, should get you back up and running.
If your phone is debranded, remember you need a goldcard. If its unbranded then you should be good to go with just the RUU.
Edit: have you tried booting without Sim and SD card too?
As I said, I tried booting with and without sim and sd card, the result was always the same.
As for the RUU, I've flashed almast 15 of them succsesfully, but the result was always the same: no booting.
My phone is unbranded.

HTC Desire won't boot past HTC screen

Hi everyone
Apologies if this is in the wrong place.
I've had my desire for about 4 months, rooted it using unrEVOked sucessfully and have played around with a few different roms.
i had leedroid on it maybe 3 weeks ago and it kept going in reboot cycles, which sucked so i changed Roms. last week it started to freeze occasioanlly with my current rom (i'm using MIUI 11.26). now it is just frozen solid basically.
It is stuck on the HTC screen at bootup. If i use the volume down key and power to boot, it will go into bootloader, but when i go and click recovery, it just reboots and does the same thing, freezes at HTC. So i'm unable to get into clockwork.
Any ideas? I've been able to follow instructions and am pretty good with swapping roms around etc, but i'm really stuck with this one
Any help would be appreciated. I'm also wondering if it is not software related.
mine just did that today, i tried to open a Gtalk message but it kept force closing, so i rebooted, now it wont go past the white HTC screen. i also removed the battery, same thing happens...not too sure what to do next
BTW im using the CM6
Is there any solution to this? Mine is stuck at the HTC logo too. Can't get into recovery and clear storage didn't work.
Anybody?
i had something like it i endet up whit download this Ruu update
.shipped-roms.com/download.php?category=android&model=Bravo&file=RUU_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.29.405.5_Radio_32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_159811_signed.exe
but for this update i think phone need to be unbrandet and i think you need Hboot 0.93 but you can probaly find a older update working whit the Hboot on you phone
1. conect phone to pc whit usb then boot phone in to Hboot (push on back butten and hold it when you power up phone
2. now in Hboot and Bootloader should be maked whit blue then push powere butten one time and wait around 10 sek. ore to is say Hboot USB Plug
3. now Run The RUU update exe file and do what the program say
Btw this well make Clean install on you phone all the things you installede is gone and i think you losse phone nr storede on phone too
But all the things you aplications have left on sd card well be there
Hope this help
you can try take a look here maby it well be a better fix if it works for you

[Q] BRICKED DINC running cyanogen7! please help

So I was running Cyanogen 7.0 for a couple weeks now and have tried a few others. I downloaded it with clockworkmod and everything was fine until I updated it to the newest one and while it was updating my phone died. Now it is just stuck in blue boot screen with the arrow going around and around. I tried Hboot but every one I pick including recovery, clear storage, and factory reset just gets me stuck on Dinc white boot screen. Trackball isn't responsive here so I us power and when I try to boot with up volume or both up and down with power it just vibrates a couple times and doesn't do anything. (I have to pull battery after this to Hboot or boot with stuck C& screen.) Please help! I have been reading so many threads on here and Cyanogens forums and everyone else seems to fix it with recover from hboot or clockwork recover comes up for them. I am very stumped. I have had a rooted captivate, EVO, and tried moto atrix and back to captivate before deciding to try out Dinc (and verizon)
I had that problem a while ago. I recall using the the in revoked program all over again. Hope that helps

the only solution that I would think can work on this case if going back to stock.. since you said you can get in the HBOOT.. you could be able to go back to stock and then reroot you phone again... I was on similar situation once I flash the alternative recover in RM... and I couldnt get to the Recovery and I had to go back to stock by putting the PB31IMG in the HBOOT to get it working..
You can get the link here..

Download the file and place it on your sdcard once you get to the HBOOT its gonna ask you if you wanna update.. then just vol - for yes and you are good to go...
Similar Problem
I am facing a similar situation with my Incredible. I was running CM7.0.3 when my phone randomly restarted but only got to the white "HTC Incredible" screen before looping over again.. and again..
I have tried loading the stock image (used the files from dougpiston site) as well as others through the HBOOT but I still cannot get past the "HTC Incredible" boot screen.
Is there something that I am missing? Does anyone else have a suggestion? I know it isn't bricked since I can still get to the HBOOT but I just can't seem to get it to boot an image. I did notice it is still "S-Off" if that matters.
If you cannot get into recovery and flashing a recovery from hboot doesn't work, you may need a new phone. This was mentioned in another thread somewhere recently.
Make sure your sd card is formatted to fat32.

[Q] HTC logo screen lock

So i tried to RUU my one x but towards the end of the process up popped up a message saying it was the wrong ROM although it wasnt.
Since then it has stuck on the HTC logo screen although i can get to the hboot screen if the battery charge is very low (to low to flash and ive tried to charge it from here but failed).
My phone is locked but can i get it back to normal, maybe through recovery without unlocking my phone. My version is 3.14.401.31
Why making a new thread, when you said you report back here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2207173
:banghead:
Edit : and if you are still not unlocked, rooted ...etc ...etc then take it to a repair center. If the ruu won't take it and a factory reset fails there is nothing we can do !

[Q] Stuck at black HTC screen with 4 triangles. Is there any way to fix this?

Yesterday I decided to try rooting my phone for the first time and after a long journey I think I may have screwed up my phone. At first, it went fine. I had cwm as a recovery and installed cyanogenmod. I decided to try another rom, so I deleted the data to start anew. At this point, cwm kept rebooting and wouldn't allow me to recover, so after trying a few solutions I stumbled upon this thread- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2437436. I followed the instructions but was left with an error; FAILED (Remote: 53 Image Unzipping Fail). When I restarted my phone, my phone has been stuck in what I believe is ruu mode (black screen with silver htc logo, one triangle on each corner). I can't get back to the recovery menu even if I hold the power button and volume down. I can sill run fastboot, though, so I can keep trying to flash the Rom.zip, but it has that same error. It was S Off and Relocked before I encountered this problem. Is there any way to fix the phone?
Sounds like you can get into ruu. Just follow the instructions in the ruu post. If you can fastboot just fastboot flash boot boot.img, that should get recovery back.
