I dropped my HOX from 3 feet and now when I shake I am hearing tick tick sound inside the phone. Is there any chance to get damage.
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
Sounds like its about to blow up!!!!
Somethings been knocked loose from the fall, God knows what. Hopefully its nothing that will affect the usage / performance of the phone. Give it a week and see.
tick-tick near camera ?
i think... those sounds its already there since first time you unboxed
Can any one shake the phone well both up and down and left and right and say whether you hear a small.sound inside it.

Yup, as far as I know everybody has it.

Thanks for the reply guys . You made my day and I am worried that I broked my phone as i had dropped . And it falls horizontal hitting the screen down. And for gods shake there is no scratch . And now I am confirmed that the sound was normal and every one has it.

I think they all have a rattle... I think its a movement sensor of sort..
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA
Yep mine makes a slight ticking sound too when I shake it. I've dropped it twice now from about 2 feet. Once was on carpet and the second time i was sitting on a Sofa and it fell on a laminated floor.
Even my old HTC Desire had that. It's part of the camera mechanism.
Is there possible to do any other test and make sure my HOX is undamaged.
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
It's the shutter
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA
Thats true, it could be the camera shutter making the sound. You can usually hear the shutter when you open and close the camera app!
Maybe do a full sensor test to make sure they're all working? Not sure how to do this though, its got to be some where in the Settings Menu?
Don't worry its normal
Edit: you can test your device hardware by dailing *#*#3424#*#* just to make sure there no damage

In play store you can get a sensor test tool
Did the default HTC test and while doing line drawing test I can't draw at the left most, right most edges , and top boundary.

I tried line drawing test I couldn't draw at the edges special the top edge of the screen unless you try harder to draw , so its not an issue

Can someone test this for me, when it is sunny or quite light outside. Take your phone off and turn the screen off. Then point it at an angle so the light is reflecting off it.
Do you notice blue and black lines running across the screen? They can also be seen with low brightness when the screen is on.
It has to be outside under natural light to see this.
I got a replacement One X today and it has those where as my previous one did not. My friend doesn't have these lines but i know someone from a different forum that does.
Is it normal?
Does no one else have this?
Just walkoutside when it is sunny with the brightness at 0-15%. Then turn the screen off and hold it at an angle. You should see the lines across the screen. Then turn the screen on so you're at the lockscreen and you should still be able to see them.
That is meant to be there, I think it is something to do with the touch screen.. but I know it is essential for your phone

Are anybody here got any experiences of the new HOX batches xx27. I have a xx24 with wifi and screen ripple issues but I getting a xx27 tomorrow.
Are there any issues with the newer batches or have all the problems been ironed out?
I've seen some threads with problems on the xx26 but not much mentioned about the xx27models, I suppose because they are new
Thanks
Nik

I'm getting mine from the the Carphone Warehouse in Bootle. I just hope the manufacturing defects are sorted out, and as that's the reason I got rid off my galaxy s3.

But how do you know they have sh27/ht27 in stock? did you email them?
got a Q...
my phone is SH24 and got screen problems (when pressing the screen a white smudge appears )
will HTC switch the phone to a brand new xx27 batch?
My friend works for cpw. I have picked up the sh27 today the wifi is miles better than on my last one... However there is still screen ripples up and down the left and right side of the screen. I suppose I'll have to live with it though

The screen ripples just with normal pressure or with extra pressure applied? damn you htc :crying:
Screen ripples is common on most LCD screens. Press tour laptop screen and it'll happen and such. It's barely noticeable and only noticeable if you look for it.
Let the glue settle it'll get better.

It does require extra pressure but not an extra ordinary amount. With regards to all lcd panels having this effect my HTC sensation didn't do this neither does my Motorola xoom hmmmmmm...

It depends on the LCD technology whether you it ripples under compression, some panel types do not ripple when pressed but are lacking in other respects.
The Gorilla glass should be enough to stop ripple under normal use but the glass does flex so if you push hard the LCD can ripple.

Phil
Ok this sh27 seems to have a vibro hardware issue, clicks every time haptic is used.
I was hoping all off the bugs would have been sorted out 4 months after launch but it seems not. What more annoying is I'm now out of the 28days and this need to sent off to HTC.
I'm trying to live with it but find it more annoying each day.

What do you mean it clicks? these are hardware issues., not bugs
Too true this is a hardware issue. It sounds like the vibro clicks every time the haptic feedback is used. This happens on all keyboards and capacitive buttons. It's almost as if sound on key press is on and the sound is a horrible annoying click.

Cheers. There's no 'SH' mentioned on that screen on my phone. If it's something to do with 'Device Serial Number', then it starts with HT23CW. I guess that would make it an earlier version?

Yeah that's quite an early one.
SH is manufactured in Shanghai, HT in Taiwan.
The 23 means March (24 is April, etc), the C means 12th day.
The title is self explanatory but has anyone noticed a hump one One X's back, one centimeter above the HTC logo? The hump is is barely noticeable (probably less than 0,5mm, I can't even take a picture to show it) but I can feel it. I'm a bit afraid because it's more or less where the battery's top end is located.
Yes. I have that little unnoticeable hump as well just right above the "HTC" name.
I think its normal.
Swagged out of my love, HTC One X
.......Feeling Fly on maXimus Rom.......
Yes. Mine has it. It's due to the heat
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
i have that too
hi
nope not me just checked on reading this thread mine is totally flat no hump what so ever above or below the back HTC marking:good::laugh:
The Tegra 3 chipset is located below the camera sensor.. (below the HOX ring) As you know Tegra 3 is a QuadCore processor and gets heated up so fast.. (compared to other processors) So the hump can be mostly associated with the heat produced by the chip as it moulds the polycarbonate back casing..

I really don't want to get on the news because of an exploding pants incident...
At least it seems that it isn't just mine.

Actually, it isn't that above. It's between the HTC logo and the usb port. If you look to the phone insides, it is exactly where the battery ends. My Desire battery expanded a bit on that spot, so I guess it can be related to that.

Yup! I have that hump too. It's more pronounced when the phone is hot. It's soft too.
It bends as it get heated therefore showing the contour of the internal. The 'hump' is actually the top edge of the battery.

No hump on my 7months old one x despite how I overheat it the hell out of it
It seems it is rather common. And since the hump is so slight, most people won't actually notice it.
mine has a silicone hump

Yeah that's cuz of overheating... Polycarbonated back moulds up when it heats...even when you'll press the hump you'll feel a blank space....

Your phone is pregnant. You'll have a little baby HTC One.5 X soon.
I have been using my HTC One M8 for more than 2 weeks now and only yesterday I realized that the Metal Plate / Speaker grill coming up slightly below the front facing camera.
When I press it down it will stick back and look perfect but then again after some time it will come up slightly again.
It is annoying. Is there anyway I can fix this on my own or do I have to take it to HTC for repair?
I have attached 2 pictures. The first one shows the problem below the front facing camera and the second one showing how it is perfect after I pressed it down.
Anyone else having this problem?
I did on the left side. I simply pushed it down really hard for a minute and it hasn't come back.

I have pressed down on the area and held it for 1 to 2 mins. It sticks for a while and then raises up slightly again. I believe it is a glue issue. Hope. HTC will fix it for me.
I have rooted my phone and I am worried they may not help me out.
I would unpeel it, add a very small amount of glue. Try HTC first though.

Yeah I will try with HTC first. I am sure they can do a better job to fix this as they have to remove the metal grill to dismantle the phone so they must have some experience removing and reinstalling the metal grill.
Exactly same issue here... Poor build quality issues again..

I guess you must have got your phone long back ! Does yours show the same behaviour again ?
How was the device after the service ? Most people including me,experienced scratches on the display. Was your treated in a similar way ? Lemme know...
