Fastboot is a command tht allow u to flash a kernel into ur phone.

also it is .62 rom but -64 baseband no .64 not to try and be a know it all but to correct u for future questions
u can only root the .62 rom with unlocked bootloader and doomlord kernel i believe.
u cud downgrade using FLASHTOOL even with a locked bootloader as long as it is signed i believe. or so i have been told although tbh i dont think that works
Hi i wanna know if there is a way to flash custom roms and kernel with flashtool(not fastboot) with a locked bootloader xperia play r800a???
Sent from my R800a using xda premium
Nope, not with flash mode. Flash mode only works with ftf and they are Sony branded stock files
And the only way to flash a custom kernel is fastboot

Is there any way to install a different Kernel directly from the CWM, or something?

You can flash a new kernel using Fastboot or FlashTool. That's simple enough for me.
If your on a unlocked bootloader u can locked bootloaders will either brick your phone or send u too a bootloop

As far as I know, flashtool is the only way. Just fastboot and flash the kernel from that.
You can flash it thru ADB, by command "fastboot flash boot nameofimage.img", this isnt possible 2install it thru CWM, since CWM can install something to system partition but kernel isnt available from root partition.

Yes, but I just need an alternative to flash new kernels on the go, whenever I am not at my computer.
So I guess there isn't any way of doing so. Thanks for the help!

That has nothing to do with ADB. It's done with fastboot
You will never be able to flash a kernel directly from CWM. This is because the recovery (CWM) is inside the kernel. Other devices (my Transformer Prime and Sensation) can.
Hy guy
I want to know
I have unlockbootloader using flashtool and I want to check is it unlock correctly or not but how to check??

If you have fastboot which is available in the apktool kit, you can verify bootloader status by putting your phone in fastboot mode (blue led) then open a shell and type "fastboot.exe getvar secure" without quotes. If it says no then you have unlocked bootloader. You can flash a kernel with flashtool or fastboot.exe. I recommend backing up your TA in flashtool prior to doing anything if you haven't already done so...could save you some trouble in the future.
Can someone tell me what's the use of flashing a kernel? What's the difference between it and the boot.img? Also ,can someone tell me how to flash a kernel, do I have to reflash kernel after I flashed a custom rom? thx
People flash a kernel because some kernel support overclock, so u can overclock your phone. Idk if flashtool can flash custom kernel because I flashed sspeed kernel for acro s using cwm recovery (.zip) not boot.img

To flash a Stock Kernel u do not need to unlock bootloader.
Boot loader unlocking only requires for custom kernel.
For more in detail, go to the thread i mentioned above and read.

U have to unlock ur bootloader to flash that kernel.
What "code" do u mean?
I am not clear about your questions, What code you are talking about?
The link u gave contains modified stock kernel, not completely stock kernel. to flash this u need to unlock boot loader.
With locked bootloader u can flash only those stock kernel which is not modified or the kernel attributes aren't changed.
