All I did was restart my computer with the fire plugged in but turned off. For some reason this reset it.

I guess I'm just an idiot. Fastboot just gets me stuck at the FFF yellow triangle and stops. Recovery and Normal boot don't start the device all the way, so I can't access it from my computer to add a ROM.zip file to the /SD card.
From what the post says, you need to be in fastboot. KFU doesn't see my device in any of the boot modes either.
What should I try to do to get my Fire back? Will a Factory reset do the trick? Will that Unroot my Kindle? Is that even the right direction?
Please advise.
Thank you.

Nothing??? I booted up my Kindle at work, used the Real Calc app from Google Market (was running GO Launcher EX, Rooted with KFU) let it go into sleep more, picked it up to use it for.... I don't remember, It just had the mini Android Robot on the screen with a Triangle with Orange " ! " inside it. I couldn't get the device to respond, so I hard shutdown (hold down power button until power off). Then it booted up and immediately shut down and restarted and there was the Yellow Triangle splash, the Kindle Fire splash, An Android Robot with a progress bar underneath (which I've never seen before), it filled to ~20%, then The Mini Androit with the orange " ! " like before.
I can boot to reocov, norm, and fastboot, but none work and my Kindle is not longer recognized by my PC.
I really have no clue man.

I've tried rebooting my system, my kindle, plugged in, not plugged in, i still can't transfer the .zip on the device. Should I try to reflash the .zip that's already on there?

Your kindle tried to update to the new stock software. Your next step would be to boot into recovery and install the stock that way (you would then have to reroot using kfu) or you could install a custom rom. If yore after the stock look then check out the modaco from in the dev section.

[Help!] Bricked Kindle Fire/ Won't even start

After I rooted my kindle and installed adw.launcher everything was going fine. I rebooted my kindle and out of nowhere it refuses to start. Absolutely nothing shows up at all. The screen doesn't come on, the logo, nothing. The battery was at 75% when it was working. Even when I plug it in the orange charge light doesn't even come on. I need help badly and I would prefer not to have to send it in to get a replacement. The entire reason I created this xda account was to fix this. Please I need help.
That doesn't sound good. Press and hold the on button for like 20 seconds and see if anything happens.

Try the Hard reset option as explained by GBH2 and if it doesn't help, then please list down what exactly did you do to root your device, stock FW version etc.

I have already tried the hard reset but to no avail. I have no idea what happened to it. I think I will just have to get a replacement. I followed instructions off of mobilemag and of course I can't place the link in this post.
I literally just had same issue... holing power button for 20+ seconds did the trick here.
Running CM7 w/ MAC address fix.
mine's bricked too
I also have a bricked Kindle and not sure what to do about it.
I had my KF rooted and working. Then, I followed these instructions to get a better keyboard. In short, I edited one row of the secure table in settings.db, trying to enable Hackers Keyboard. I followed the instructions very carefully, including changing permissions. When I rebooted, it stuck at the kindle fire logo, and it is still stuck there.
I can connect via adb, but can no longer burrito root. Can't run 'su'. I'm searching these forums trying to figure what to do next.
do you have twrp available ?
if not you could follow this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1414832
fixed
Thanks. I found that thread via http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1356257&page=61 and it saved the day.
I was able to fastboot, twrp, and eventually solve my problem.
I had updated settings.db, then used `adb push` to put it in the right place. Then, I chmod-ed it as the instructions warned. However, it was owned by root not system! With twrd, I was able to get back into adb. Chown-ing and chgrp-ing that file to system solved my problem.
(Unfortunately some of the other stuff I did along the way broke a few apps... anyway I'm happy to have a working KF again.)
good to hear !!!
Did you ever get your KF to work? I can not get mine to turn on after KFU 0.9.5 used to do perm root. Now nothing works at all
Kindle fire wont power on /boot
I'm facing the same issue here, i have FFF 1.4a and TWRP 2.2.2.1 installed and JB 4.2.1 from twv. However i noticed whenever i pressed reboot from menu or power it off, i cannot turn it on again.
Luckily i have an OTG cable which help me force boot it, but i want to solve the issue coz i dont want to use the OTG cable always to turn it on.
Note: Holding power button for 20secs did not solve the issue

Hello, i have a Factory Cable (USB cable) with a different pin configuration. Basically if you have a working bootloader, you just plug it in (with a PC) and it will go to the FFF screen.
I think my issue is a busted USB port already.
ok thanks tried that, but it is deader than that.

Dead is right on the mark for mine also. With pc never detecting my CM9 , I updated my TWRP to v2.2.2.1, in hopes to go to CM10
And for first time saw *bootloader* as an option in TWRP . Screeching halt!!! Beware.
Seriously people...

Normally I would assume you had a 2nd generation device and tried to modify it, but I see your first post was made back in April and then edited two days ago?!? Is this a new problem or the same problem you had eight months ago?
I'm pretty sure your USB port isn't bad and you just have a broken bootloader. If you have a 1st generation device, the Firekit w/shorting trick to put the device in USBboot will do the trick.

[Q] Bricked my kindle fire!!!! PLZ HELP...

My kindle fire is stuck at FIREFIREFIRE bootloader ( the screen which has a kindle fire logo and an android logo above it)....
My conditions are like this:
Kindle fire - ROOTED
ROM - Kindle Fire Stock Rom
TWRP - Installed
FIREFIREFIRE - Installed
And i could'nt find 'kindle fire' in my windows device manager when i plugged my kindle on my pc...
Help will be appreciated...
This is a must-read: [GUIDE] Kindle Fire For Beginners
Be sure to read the first 3 posts.
not finding ' kindle ' , or 'android device' on my windows 7 device manager...so how shud i get rid of it? has anybody experienced it?
Long press on the Fire power button does nothing - doesn't launch TWRP in recovery mode. Entering commands in a Command window from my laptop isn't getting through to my Fire. And, as I mention above, the Kindle Fire device is not available on my Device Manager
After reading the guide potestasx offered you, do you you understand why your device is stuck at the boot screen?
I think i've been stuck at boot loader due to lack of battery....
I fully charged it after that...
but its still stuck...
Cant find 'kindle' or "Kindle' on my Device manager...
So dont know whether i on Fastboot mode or Normal mode...
I assume that i m on fastboot mode...
i tried installing drivers from 'install_drivers' in 'kindle fire utiltity'...
but none changed...
Known Tricks
If you end up stuck at the yellow triangle, in KF Utility select Boot Normal, wait for it to say <waiting for device> and then press and hold the power button 20 seconds until the fire turns off, then when its off turn it back on. This sometimes happens, I have yet to find a clean solution If you end up stuck with a yellow triangle, do not EVER unplug it. Leave it plugged in. Check the windows drivers to make sure it isnt showing as "kindle" again. Fastboot is different and can cause this.
Please note: If your device can't be seen in fastboot mode, please make sure to install the drivers packaged with this, as it will show up afterwards. You can use the install_drivers.bat with the device plugged in for this.

Not quite. First of all, you're in the wrong bootmode. You just need to change it back to normal and you'll be just fine. The guide posted earlier has information on the different bootmodes, how they work, and eventually how to change them. From your description it should be pretty easy to fix.
You also need to pay attention to the second post of that thread as it will help you verify that your drivers are in order. The third post will give you the necessary tools to fix your problem and any others that may arise.
I will tell you this, after you've changed your bootmode it would be a good idea to reinstall TWRP and then use TWRP to install FFF1.4
Thanx a lot Thepooch...My kindle fire is working now....
thanx.... I m thinking of installing FIREFIREFIRE v.1.4...It has fixed charging mode and other..
It'll help if it happens further...
Thanx again
Your welcome be careful with it now
I thought it's working but it is doing the same thing again again... it is rebooting and sticking to the bootscreen again after using 5 mins.....Cant understand the problem behind it...what to do?

Are you able to boot to recovery? If so, you might try running a backup and then load a custom rom just to test normal boot. I've had bootmode issues twice with the stock rom (6.3 & 6.3.1).

Run fastboot 5001 (full command in the guide thread).
If it says waiting on device, hold the power button until it shuts off and then power it back on. That should alow you to get into recovery.

Yep, that'll do it. The stock roms were not built to update with root/recovery installed. I learned that the hard way, too.

[Q] Need Some help with a bootloop

If you are getting stuck at the ROM's bootanimation and it won't go any further, your system software is broken. You'll have to get to recovery or at least into fastboot mode to fix it. If you have the stock bootloader, you have no easy way to get into recovery, so you'll probably need a factory cable. Read this...

I tried telling you twice what you need to do, so let me explain it again...
The Frequently Asked Questions post I directed you to clearly explains in several places that failure to wipe data (factory reset) in recovery before flashing a ROM will cause problems. It also tells you that when users revert back to stock without wiping data, they get stuck at the Kindle Fire logo (Q:16). When FireFireFire gets overwritten by the stock bootloader (which is what happens when you revert to stock), there is no access to fastboot for changing the bootmode to recovery so that data can be wiped (which is the only way to fix the problem). Also, without FireFireFire installed, the only way to access fastboot is through the shell (which is obviously not possible in this case) OR with a factory cable. I believe I hinted to the need for a factory cable in one of my previous posts?
So try to pay attention to the information that is available to you or you'll risk getting yourself into another situation that you cannot get out of in your own capacity, and you'll then have to rely on the accuracy of the information given to you (and the limited patience) from a******s like me

You're going to have to be a little more specific. Just saying "i can not install twrp" doesn't give anyone any clue as to why.

Kindle Fire 2 Red Screen (Bricked?)

I rooted my Kindle Fire 2 about a week ago and I was really enjoying it. Today I decided that I wanted to get cyanogen mod on my kindle. I went to a a forum page here on XDA which had a one click thing for TWRP. I downloaded it onto my kindle and started to install it. I allowed it with superuser, but then my screen went black and turned red. Now I'm kind of nervous because I've read that now I need to use a Factory/Fastboot cable to restore it. Is there any other way for me to restore my kindle? I can turn it off by holding the power button for 20 secs, but when I turn it back on the logo flashes for 2 secs and the red screen comes back.. Please help.. I'm kinda upset right now
No. You need a cable. Sorry you are upset but this is clearly stated in the CyanogenMod thread.

Ok, so if I purchase the cable, will that allow me to enter fastboot and fix the problem? Is fastboot somthing that is already on the device.. or is it something that I should of installed on it beforehand? Someone told me that all I need is the Factory Cable and I can work from there. Is that true?
You might want to start reading before you permanently brick your device

I'm sorry, I know im asking dumb questions; honestly I'm new to this and I just need some help and I do appreciate the help you are providing. I have read the link you posted, but I have one more question. When I plug in the Factory Cable is fastboot something that is already on the device? I dont think I installed fastboot on my device (if it can even be installed) But I know for a fact that my KF2 is rooted. I know this is a dumb question, but the only way for me to find out is if I ask. Thanks.

Do I have to have my own system image backup? I wasn't able to "adb pull" before all of this because it wouldn't give me r/w permissions due to something called a protective shell or something?

It helps but you can use Kindle Fire FirstAid and a factory fastboot cord and restore to factory. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2096888 You can make a fastboot cord or buy one for 10 bucks, up to you.
He did a good job describing everything.
If you want to try getting custom recovery again, root your Kindle Fire using Bin4ry's method. Use the new method (No Xperia stuff - You'll know when u use it). And use Kindle Fire First Aid and disable OTA updates. Download TweezerMod Installer (Google it) and follow instructions. You will be as amazed, excited, and happy as at first when you recovered your kindle.

I have installed 22 different driver packages. None work. My PC connects to all my phones so I don't think the problem is there. USB port 2.0. Brand new factory cable (gets fast boot) canyon have the driver pack that works? I can believe how many bs file I have downloaded.
Also, yes, I uninstalled each one after failure an deleted all associated files. Please help before my wife shoots me!!
