I just got mine today as well, after talking myself out of it since it's release...mainly because of lack of removable storage, signal issues, and camera quality. I'm not having any signal issues despite the fact that I live in a generally poor reception area, camera isn't as bad as I was expecting, and I think I can live without the MicroSD slot in exchange for the sheer beauty of this phone. The materials also feel nicer than I thought they would. The OS is a surprisingly big improvement over 2.3, enough that I think i'll actually wait a bit before flashing any ROM's. Very very nice...

I've had mine for a week now...
And I'm happy with it... NO CARRIER BLOAT, faster updates direct from Google, etc. I have to admit, however, that I was skeptical that it could replace my SGSII (T989) but I'm happy to say it was eBay'd this morning. And after seeing the SGSIII, I'm glad I didn't wait and I'm not looking back.
I like these threads Just got mine the other day, too. Sold an iPhone 4s and have no regrets. This is the first time I've used 4G and its great when I'm away from wifi. The ability to customize just about everything on these devices with Android won me over.

If ur phone is new u can't judge battery life immediately, give it a few days. Plus, update to 4.0.4, i was getting 4hrs on 4.0.2 and now it's over 5hrs screen on every charge, using stock 1750mAh.

Surprisingly enough, I am getting 10 hours of battery life on LTE.
This is regular use, streaming music, checking facebook, pictures, and sms...
It's still better than what I used to get on my Incredible.
Oh dear. Am i the only one who uses the phone on manual brightness on the lowest it goes? I think the screen looks great even at low brightness. I rarely go above 30/40% as there is no need other than to drain battery.

So I recently had a friend tell me his s3 hasnt been doing very well for him speed and service wise(he has sprint) and I did some digging around on google and some forums to try to help him out.. and the more I researched the more I saw posts about all the issues with the s3... problems with it charging to horrible battery and reception to other things I can't remember now.. and Im here thinking to my self.. man I LOVE THIS DEVICE. On full stock rooted I really have no issues.. my battery lasts reception is ok for me in Miami.. not the best but certainly not bad. I really dont have any problems that would make me want to return the phone. Im curious to know how other users feel about this beast and what some of your experiences are... tips and general experiences are welcome..
Lets hear it

Amazing device I'm runnning stock no problem but rooted with a custom kernel ! It's DOPE! Your friend obviously hasn't had a single-core phone or a blackberry! (jokes) loool!
Is that a serious question
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
I think i agree with your friend. The Sprint's S3 does suck. My uncle has a Sprint S3 and it is a bit laggy compared to mine...so maybe its not the phone itself, but the network carrier. So radio/baseband has to be culprit for everything thats weighing the phone down.
I also had the s2 international version that worked flawless (and I flashed the hell out of that thing) but my sprint buddies all had complaints..
I forgot to mention in OP that some of the bad reviews I read also included our tmobile model.. but I am incredibly happy with mine.
Sent from a device high on jelly beans.
I had virgin mobile(Sprint owned prepaid) and service was good in terms of making a call, but data speeds were inconsistent at best. I also had numerous problems with text not going through. I would expect sprint to have at least some of these problems

I too love my T-MO GS3, by far the best Android phone I have ever owned. I live in Miami and I get regular speeds of 15mps to 18mps. I have rooted, flashed, themed(international forums) and this phone has given me no problems what so ever.
And remember, most people who have no problens with the phone aren't going to post about it online. Its much easier to find out what went wrong for people because they always come online loking for help!
That silent majority is, I imagine, quite massive considering the millions of these phones that have been sold! That's a lot of happy people going about their lives without ever needing to seach for help!

I really have no issue with the S3 on t-mobile. This is the first Android phone I have with great battery, fast, lot of available memory for the apps to fly,... Great reception and I think I pick up 4G at some places that would be on Edge or 3G when using the S2 or Sensation.

I like both, my god its just phones... an enemy in my definition is someone who has crossed me.. you do know there would be no android without apple right? The guy who created android worked at apple & stole key features. That' why jobs said he will fight android until he dies. Let me put it like this: what if your close friend kidnaps your sister & you know about it & see her with tape on her mouth & arms lol if not a sister then your mother.

So you change ROMS during the week/weekend? I never thought of doing that - I guess Titanium helps? Sorry. I'm still a slight N00b. I just rooted but am keeping it stock for now. I just Dl'd Titanium but am confused on how to use it. Guess that's for another thread lol.
Is there a way to make sure titanium doesn't restore bad backup data? (I don't use it for this reason. Wanna make sure my ROM stays clean)

No. I can personally attest to the fact that the GPS on the S3 is very, very good. I don't know what you mean by the surf antenna, but I do know that it utilizes GLONASS. Locks consistently in under 3 seconds, accuracy within 6 feet most of the time.

I have a couple co workers that have the s3, one on Verizon and one on Sprint and its pretty damn awesome. We travel for work so I had the one who has Sprint use GPS and it seems to work great along with great battery life on a bigger better screen. And he gets faster download speeds too. I'm personally holding out for the next Nexus which should be here this fall hopefully or close to the holidays, but you have another upgrade coming so you are good. One good thing to do is just go to the store and play with them as long as you want then maybe wait a day or two, to be sure.

What is lte?
It's a good phone. I'm going to root it soon because in it's present state I feel that performance could be better and the gross amount of bloatware is incredibly annoying. I have used the speed test app and I'm T-Mo and managed to get a max of 27.80Mbps. Not to shabby. I did realize later that the size of the phone is quite big for my hands but the screen real estate makes up for it. I don't think I would have gotten anything else. Battery is great as well.

Im assuming you're kidding? Otherwise you would not be floating around the gs3 forum still?
If you are serious, what do you mean "didnt know whether you were coming or going"? What does that even mean lol?
and by mentioning the "htc one", im assuming you mean the "one S". So that being said, no removable storage card and no removable battery, doesnt that speak for itself? Good luck with that one, or did you overlook those two missing features?
If you are serious, can you explain why u chose the htc one s over the gs3?
To the other person, the note 2 looks nice but from what i was reading, it seems a little big.
And also, people keep mentioning the nexus. Is it better than the gs3 better?
I like it, overall pretty good. WiFi performance and Wi-Fi calling are very bad. If you are planning on using WiFi calling DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!
The s3 is light years ahead of the lg, that's a 2 year old phone that wasn't even that great to begin with. IMO the only other phone out right now to compare with the s3 is samsung's own Note2, but that's a giant phone and definitely not for everybody. If you wait a little longer LG's new superphone is around the corner but who know's when exactly it'll be released.

Hey Kid. I remember you from the G2x days. Night and day different experience. Everything just works. Screen quality, speed, size, features, everything is better. This is what the android experince should be.You will love gaming on the GS3.
I love it so much. I do have an issue with the battery running out quickly but I think I have a faulty battery. Not sure. Other than that it's the best phone I've had. I don't think there's anything better out there.
The only other phone i would consider is the new Nexus coming out simply for the updates. It still hasn't been announced tho but I'm sure it'll be a fantastic device on par with the S III

I was getting tired of the sgs3 regarding updates. 5.0 will come soon and we aren't even on 4.2 . once I had the nexus which I got as a replacement due to Tmobile not having sgs3 in stock ( don't ask weird situation). I realized I missed the drop down toggles and how quick it was to silent the phone. There's also no WiFi calling which is only important to me at work since I work in the basement and need to have for my wife and emergency calls. Also lack of SD which I though wasn't going to be an issue is. I hate having to transfer all my pictures and the ones that don't fit I'd rather not have stored on the cloud. I guess aside from getting quick updates and vanilla android, its not such an upgrade for me. It us for others but the sgs3 is more my style for the features that I use it for. :/. Getting a brand new one from Tmobile at non cost due to what happened. I do have to return the n4 though but I think I won in this situation.

In all seriousness... Did anyone happen to get a glimpse at the new sexy phenomenal Galaxy S4?

You are a classy fella aren't you
loving my N4 don't regret giving my S3 to the wife.
Good
I love T-Mobile :highfive:
I think I would rather buy the HTC one over the S4
Tmobile fb just announce s4. Next week baby
Just wondering what the s4 will do that my s3 can't?
I've never been a fan of LG devices... but this is one I might just be tempted to get...

I knew the Adreno 330 was going to be a beast of a chip but I had no idea it would clock like THAT!
Its a T-Mobile build too... Note the build fingerprint... "lge/g2_tmo_us"
One way or another I'm waiting for Snapdragon 800 devices to drop later this year before upgrading... That's just insane!
S4
Thinking of upgrading from S3 to S4.... Is it worth the money ?????

Early reports say no... And the bootloader is locked as well. They managed to root it but it may be awhile before custom ROMs can be installed. Battery life is worse than the One as well (its marginally better than the battery life of the S3 by early accounts).
If you have an S3, I would recommend waiting at least until Google I/O to see what they have up their sleeves... The Snapdragon 800 devices are coming this year and they look to be beasts... Hell do a Google on "LG D801" and see what I mean...
Tegra 4i is coming too. Its too early to jump into another device in my opinion - the S3 just has so much life left in it.
Point taken, I think i'll wait for a while and will also check out the LG, besides I am addicted to flashing Custom Roms ..... by the way the toggle 2g app is pretty good for conserving Battery, I have a very heavy Phone usage that includes 4 Email Accounts set on Push and several hours of call time daily and still the battery lasts me the whole day and that app alone is reason enough for me to stay away from phones that are still under early stages of Rom Development. Thanks for the Fast response btw
