The flagship of Samsung is now up and whoa! That is some latest piece of tech.
Specifications:
Samsung Galaxy SIII:
4.8" 720p SUPER AMOLED (pentile) Display.
1.4 GHz Quad Core.
8MP rear / 1.9MP front camera.
2100 mAh battery
16/32GB storage (64 coming soon) with sd card slot.
ICS with Touchwiz 4.0
HTC ONE X:
4.7" 720p Super LCD2 Display.
1.5 GHz Quad core.
8MP rear / 1.3MP front camera.
1800mAh battery.
32GB internal storage with no SD Card slot.
ICS with HTC Sense 4.0
My Opinion:
Well, specs ain't the only thing. The overall performance, feel in hand and overall experience of the phone really counts. I don't think it's a big leap forward as we already know HTC ONE X is a beast in itself.
I prefer HOX because I don't like touchwiz UI of Samsung and the build quality is better in HTC ofcourse.
Many people will go against me and that's how it goes in the world.
* Sense 4.0 is better than touchwiz.
* ImageSense is better than SIII camera.
* 1.5 GHz quad core (penta core to be precise) is better than 1.4 GHz Quad Core.
* The shape is actually better than SIII. Didn't like the shape of SIII (may be it's just me.)
*I'll vote for One X against SIII*
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Buy the one you like. Vote for the one you admire. This sort of competition is good for the new technology. And at the end of the day THE BEST phone is one which is in your hands.
Enjoy your phone. Enjoy the talks.
Like THIS for a compliment.
Would love to listen from you people.
But changeable battery and micros SD. Will probably have to get S3 and sell One x......
Probably....
In no way is the 40nm tegra 3 with the crappy gpu better than the 32nm exynos. Maybe in battery life but that's because the companion core.
I agree with your comments on touchwiz I think it really is an ugly launcher wonder if Samsung have mastered basics such as alphabetically arranging your app bar correct me if I'm.wrong.
Altho sense is heavier it does personally feel more stylish and easy to use and runs nice on the hox.

Already pre-ordered one for those reasons. 40nm Tegra3 or a 32nm Exynos, Exynos wins there and should have better battery management. Love the One X, hate the battery.

Battery isn't a big concern, I think. It gives 20+ hours a day and is better than extended battery 2100mAh of Galaxy Nexus (probably because of fifth core).
Yeah SD CARD may be a big corcern for few but in general sd cards are slow and can cause several errors/glitches in system. May be this was one of the reason HTC preferred dropbox over sd card.

my answers are in the first thread about this. you should go look there.
Ugly design and inferior screen compared to One X and of course still touchwizz.
Glad I did not wait for S3.
I'm glad I got the One X in the end.
The only plus points on the S3 are the expandable storage and slightly larger, removable battery.
Aside from that, the One X has it well beaten for me.
You're talking about the ergonomics and such of a phone you've never even tried yourself. Stop trying to make yourself feel better about your purchase by talking down on another phone. I'm not saying either phone is better, but I knew I'd visit this one x section today and find a thread by a one x owner crapping on the gsIII.

SIII benchmark looks to better
http://androidcommunity.com/galaxy-s-iii-quad-core-benchmarks-blow-us-away-20120503/
Sense 4.0 isn't better than Touchwiz in terms of fluidity and performance. But that is personal preference for which you like, but I wouldn't mind either Sense 4.0 or Touchwiz.
ImageSense isn't better than S3's camera, S3 features a processor itself like ImageSense but better, which is the reason it provides 0 second shutterlag compared to 0.2 - 0.7 second.
Exynos is a true 1.4Ghz, it doesn't scale down like Tegra 3, Single Core 1.5Ghz, Dual Core, 1.4Ghz, 3-4 Core 1-1.2Ghz but the companion core is a plus. But the exynos offers better features such as Power enhancement, the 32nm etc
The shape is your personal opinion. The HTC One X is plastic as well. The white version of Galaxy S3 appeals to me, think it has a metal thing around it and other part is made out of plastic but durable like the HTC One X and Galaxy S2.
Screen goes to HTC One X, easily better than the pentile Super Amoled.
In terms of performance and battery life, the S3 should win, but it doesn't mean that HTC One X is bad. What I said is facts.
I'll be getting it, but i'll be keeping HTC One X as well.
Are you guys nuts! Samsung gs3 will have far less problems than the one x i'm going to have to return my second one x. I've never had to return a phone before nevermind two of the same phones in 2 weeks!
One X looks amazing n s3 looks awful..
One X has a 12 core gpu n s3 a quad core..
Screen of One X is RGB IPS n s3 has the same cheap pentile..
One X has a companion core for battery saving n s3 has nothing like this..
One X has a separate processor for camera n s3 doesn't..
So who rules here man..One X is the daddy of all..

The things the S3 did right that the one X did wrong is a micro SD card slot and a larger removable battery.
The CPU I think will be dependant on application I think tegra 3 will have the edge in some area's the Exynos will win out in others.
Personally I think the One X looks a lot better to, but if the S3 gives S-OFF it will give it another big plus over the One X.
Overall though im glad I have the One X and wont swap, though I cant wait for someone to push out an extended battery (even if I do have to open up my case to fit it).

Well, I did say in OP that I'm just gonna compare it and check out people's reviews. FYI, I'm yet to ONE X. I was waiting for SIII and now I'd definitely go for HOX.
This isn't a thread which is smashing SIII but is gently comparing the two flagships.

So the Samsung Galaxy S3 is being announced in a few weeks time, I am really tempted to return my One X and wait it out. Any others who feel the same?
Update: Looks like there has been a proper leak this time:

I can't say I am impressed?????
Update: 3rd May -

Features are fabulous, not sure about the design???
All the rumors point to the galaxy s3 having a hardware home button now . If this is the case I will definitely be keeping my One X. If not, I'll have to compare the specs and see which one I prefer to hold.

It's a tough one.
I had the Galaxy S2, then got the Galaxy Nexus. I sold the Nexus and went back to the S2, I loved this phone. I think the camera on the S2 is better than the one X.
So with this in mind, Samsung can only improve upon the phone. I am in a pickle! Keep or return.
I'll probably end up keeping this and then pick up the S3 when it is released. Rumored specs sound pretty good!
almighty shadowgun THD just told me never!
Probably not. Slightly better specs won't mean anything if Samsung continue to use the cheapest and nastiest materials possible to encase their phones. They use the exact same cheap, flimsy and thin glossy plastic for all of their phones from the dirt-cheap Europa to their flagships.
Definitely not.
I have a gtab 10.1 and a galaxy s WiFi 5.0.
That's enough Samsung for me

I thought the S2's camera was really bad in low light conditions, in similiar conditions my iphone 4 was able to take acceptable photos. one X's camera does well in low light too.
what really annoyed me was samsung's touchwiz on ICS for the S2. I really like the stock ICS theme and that really ruined it for me, i don't think it even used the new roboto font.
am really happy with the one X, but also quite excited to see what the S3 will bring!
I was about to buy it but with those soooo many problems I decided to wait for the SGIII and see it then decide. At least see if HTC gonna do something about the One X problems
I'll wait and see, having One X in hand makes it easy to wait for announcement and test results
Besides, it's difficult to imagine how would S3 be better. It would have to have 1080p screen or 8 core CPU or massively better GPU. The last one is possible but it won't have as good support as nvidia's Tegra3 has. It won't have dedicated games like THD and it won't have dedicated market like nVidia Tegra Zone.
I don't care how good the specs on sgs3 are, this phone is so amazing. And damn i love the fact that this phone is a mystery still. I love this thing already, but updates will probably be something out of this world. Galaxy S3 will just get stuck to tw5 unlike htc One x will get sense 4.1+

I came from a i9100. I got the One X vs. waiting for the SGS3 because we don't know when it will be available (an announcement isn't an actual release). If history repeats itself, trying to get one from the initial batches will be downright painful and expensive.
Spec wise, what more could possibly be added to it that's not offered in the One X? I'm sure the displays will be about the same size and the SGS3 will have SAMOLED HD Plus (non-Pentile). But the colors will once again be exaggerated but not necessarily better and it'll be harder to use in bright daylight. It may be thinner than the One X but may not feel better in the hand (SGS2 vs. Sensation). The quad-core Exynos will be faster than Teg3 but in all but benchmarks how much more speed does a phone need when the OS and apps aren't able to take advantage of it? There were some rumors of it supporting S-Pen which if true would be a cool feature.
The biggest issue and difference between them may end up being battery life. Because of AMOLED and the move to 32nm from 45nm (it's still A9 vs. A15 though) it will be a more efficient phone. And it may have a removable battery. My One X doesn't seem to have the issues a lot of others do so battery life right now is my biggest concern.
By selling my SGS2 now I'll get more for it than after the SGS3 becomes available. The One X should still hold its value fairly well even after the SGS3's launched so I'll lose less if I decide to get and SGS3 than if I skipped the One X all together.
So far I'm happy with the One X. And if any of you think that the SGS3's launch will be flawless and bug free dream on. Once again a new device will launch with a new and untested chip on a new OS using a new overlay (TW4). If the GN's an example, the SGS3 home page will look much like ours until a couple of updates are pushed out. Samsung delayed the launch of the G-Tab 2's because of ICS issues and they are much simpler devices. I don’t think the grass will be greener on the other side, just different.

so i really dont understand the concept of "build quality" of some people
I'm getting my One X sent back and replaced due to flimsy build, if the replacement is as shoddily made I'll be jumping ship altogether.
Build quality of my SGSII wa excellent, just like Galaxy Nexus. Don't mistake build quality with materials quality. Might look plasticky, but was rock solid and reliable.
SGS3 might have Pen and better battery life thanks to shrank down cores, but I don't think I want to go back to AMOLED just yet, even if it's Plus. I need to see side by side comparisons first.

Loved my SGS2 but disliked TW. Sense > TW. If they have a complete revamp on TW5 then might consider. What if the next Galaxy line is WP8? Just imagine the stir caused lol.
Patiently waiting to see what the next range will have to offer guess we'll see a SGS2+ to compete with One S and a bigger brother to compete with One X.
Guessing SGS3 will be quad based on the 4412, 1-2gb of RAM, 4.65" screen Super AMOLED Plus HD, thinner than the One X, battery life that will excel, NFC, coating that is water proof.
Who knows.... love my HOX for the time being!
No, no and NO!!!
I don't believe in madly chasing technology jumping from one device to the next just because of better hardware specs. Actual device capability, and not on-paper specs, should be the reason for an upgrade (IMHO). I don't understand why would I ever want to return my One X (not that I can even if I wanted to ).
Reasons:
I LOVE the display. Cannot emphasize this more. Even if SIII has a full HD display, it would not make me love this display any less.
Form factor: The screen size, thinness, curves, surface finish - in short, everything about the One X body feels perfect to me.
Rational thinking. There's no app out there in the market (nor there will be in the next year or two) that the One X cannot run (based on capability, not compatibility). Even if SIII has a much faster processor, the One X is already so fast that the difference would be marginal, barely noticeable, if at all.
Now, why would I ever give up my One X?

Why should I fear? Every devices has it's own cons and pros I know what I get when I buy HOX and I know what will happen when I wait for SGS3. Maybe they'll show off with some stupid benchmark which I don't care. They just announced the processor will take a long time before coimng to a Smart phone.
benchmarks mean jack..it is all about what the user experience of the phone provides to the consumer that the vast majority are looking into now.. And i think that the One X provides that now. It has the all round good factor about it. Great specs but also great experience..What i mean it has everything in one. Great for games and great for music and all the other things to improve the phone even more with development
This thread will get closed, not relevant to the HOX. Although patiently waiting to see what it brings to the table
The original Galaxy S had a supposedly more powerful GPU than the Desire.
That didn't stop it from freezing every second and randomly rebooting every few minutes. It also didn't change the fact it felt like a fragile toy. It didn't change the fact that the plastic used was the exact same as what you'd find on their €50 Europa.
Samsung can up the numbers as much as they'd like but it won't stand for anything if it doesn't feel right. User experience is everything, numbers are nothing.

Its funny how people can be hypocrites. I'm nit saying you in particular but everyone is showing their HOX benchmark all proud but when we talk about the Galaxy s 3 then all of a sudden benchmarks don't matter anymore.I expect the galaxy s3 to mop the floor with the one x in terms of user experience, speed, battery life. The only area where I think the one x might be better than the S3 is build quality and MAYBE screen cause as awesome as the one x screen is, we have yet to see what the S3 screen is all about.
Unless the g3 comes in a One X chassis and runs Sense 4.0, i won't be interested. All it will be good for is comparing stats.

imho another bull**** flame bait thread.
mod lockdown imminent
Benchmarks are useless. For me personally I find the HOX plenty fast for my needs. Sure it'll improve with kernels and such.
More importantly UI is a major factor. TouchWiz albeit decent is poor compared to Sense. Sense is lovely few gripes but lovely none the less.
Now if Samsung totally revamp and totally recreate TouchWiz then that will be something to consider. I loved the SGS2 but spent most of it's last months on AOKP.
Personal preferences, I prefer the simplicity and usefulness of Sense and it's widgets hence why I came back home to HTC. Competition is good for us
I expect the S3 to have
1. better battery life (32nm process, same A9 core, AMOLED uses less power, bigger overall battery in S3) when in use,
2. similar stand by time (no power saving core),
3. similar computing power (Antutu being the benchmark as it just gives raw number crunching results).
4. S3 will have a much worse screen than the One X (AMOLED simply ruins the colors. My old HD2 wipes the floor with the S2 concerning screen colors).
5. S3 will be boring. Have you seen TouchWiz? Sense is bliss compared to it. Also, the S2 feels cheap (but then again so shoes the One X compared to my HD2 and even more to iPhone)
All in all.. my choice would be a well-manufactured One XL (best battery life and best processor but lower performance - that I can live with). But they don't sell them here.. and they don't seem to manufacture many good ones yet.

There are people who are obsessed with benchmark. But IMO these benchmark can be tweaked we saw an article where benchmark app was compromised and tweak to their chipset. By unlocking FSP cap you can get better scores but you'll see lot of display glitches. That's why I really don't care about benchmark. In todays world whatever you buy the latest and greatest will be out-dates in matter of days. You can't keep up with it. As far as software I don't care for both Sense and TouchWiz. Anyway I'll strip it and flash CM once it's out.
As long as the SGS3 has external micro SD I'll be getting it over the ONE X, the ONE X without external memory support is too Apple like for me. I like freedom, thus the reason I choose Android.

We get it you love the S3 and you really do not like the HOX. But for my life i have not read anyone go on about the specs behind this phone and raving about it. I for one got this phone not because of tegra 3 and because of it being the first quadcore but because of like i said the user experience...
Benchmarks are for those who love to brag how big and powerful their phone is. Like something else to feel good about themselves Look at the S2..Now that phone was the best and maybe still one of the top 2 phones in the world in my eyes. It had it all. But when it came down to user experience it sucked.
In regarding games you needed chainfire 3d to be able to play tegra games. I can do that without that with my HOX. And it will probably be the same with the s3.
Quality of sound. Again the S2 lacked way behind. It needed Supercurio to release his Voodoo Louder app to give some sense of good audio. My HOX comes with beats audio already with the phone no need for anything extra. And i bet it will be the same with the s3. All power no end product.
Touchwiz. I actually loved touchwiz. But now using sense i love sense even more.
Now no denying the s3 will be the king of android phones when it comes out. But you will find that there are people out there who prefer the HOX for the overall user experience and not because of the specs it provides..And lets not forget this phone is quite powerful in its own right and will only get better with the help from development here...So maybe you need to go somewhere else to rave about your s3
And i agree..This thread needs closing because it is becoming a flame war and provides nothing for our gorgeous phone

Any of you guys fearing Galaxy S3 will do to ONEX what S2 did to sensation : ) ?
Any thoughts ?

And what exactly did the S2 do to the sensation? AFAIK, it was a worthy competitor, but was also buggy as hell (GPS problems) and lets not forget that it felt like a cheap toy and came with touchwhizz.
Lots of people bought the sensation after having held both devices.
I have no doubt that the S3 will be a great phone. But that won't make the One X any less.
"Mop the floor" lol. It will be a little bit faster in some respects, as is always the same with the next new smartphone, it has slightly more advanced tech than the previous one.
"mopping the floor" is like comparing the sg3 to a nokia 3310.
But the Nokia wins on battery life

-- I need you to read your statement again properly. So, some developers decided not to make their apps compatible with Mali400 GPU and utilize proprietary nvidia compression. I guess it's Samsung's fault that those developers are not interested to run their apps/games on non-Tegra devices. You don't need CF3D for "normal" games. If this is your excuse for poor user experience, blame the devs.
I am considering upgrading from my DHD to the One X or SGS III.
I saw that in most reviews the SGS III is the superior over the One X, now my question is if that is worth the € 100 (actually the difference is a bit bigger even) extra to get the SGS III ?
I like design of both phones, with a slight preferation for the One X. I noticed android development community of the One X has expanded greatly already whereas the SGS III seems to still be taking off.. (much more flashing fun for the One X that means). Sense doesn't interest me that much, I would go for an AOXP rom anyways probably, or if I wouldn't root the phone right away yet use another launcher. I have no experience with TouchWizz from Samsung.
Hopefully some people can help me with my decision.
Cheers
W.
If you need stylish phone get one x
If you need some old design phone get siii
btw both are powerful phone. but hox looks sexier.
The one x already has a great development community. The SIII just got released last week so development is just taking off but it will be one of the best without a doubt. I would recommend going for the S3 which has better battery life and is smoother all around. Especially the fact that you don't really care about sense. The one x is great though, beautiful body and screen but the boot loader is locked and u gotta unlock through HTC Dev and it will void your warranty. The S3 boot loader is unlocked all u need to do is root it. They are both amazing phone but the S3 is better in my opinion.

As an owner of both I say S3, unless you're shallow and only want to make your decision based on design and looks as the poster above suggests, in that case go for the One X.
And which one is faster in benchmarks (Antutu, Quadrant, ...)?

Although you must take benchmark tests with a pinch of salt, the SGS III beats the One X in every single benchmark program.

with most modern android phones the major thing differentiating them is with looks.
the one x and s iii are incredibly similar spec wise, other than a battery and s-off.
the majority of users will not care about rooting so choosing a better looking phone over another is not shallow. if i'm buying a phone i have to use every day for at least two years i'm gonna go for one that i actually like the look of.

the s iii is faster, but there will be no noticeable difference when running apps on the phone. the one x also has the nvidia tegra 3 chip, which many modern games are optimised for (search for THD or tegra on the play store)

Hey I was wondering if the One X has any noticeable differences in performance compared to the S3 gaming and UI wise. I have an S3 but I like the Tegra optimized games and the design of the One X, but i heard that there is noticeable lag and the S3 is better. Please help with my decision. Thanks!
Yes, Sense is much heavier UI, much more than TouchWiz, laggs happens, sometimes often, hox software isnt good enough to make this phone good enough, bugs happens, but its still good smatrphone.
Hope HTC will get his ass to work, and fix all of this ... sh*t

Is that a yes that I should get it? Also can you confirm what people say that gaming and music are better on the One X (International), over the S3 (International). Those are my two main selling point because I already like the One X build quality better.
Well imo sgs3 is better for music, hox dont have microsd slot, on stock firmware sounds awful, and battery is worst than g3, with mods its better ofc.
For games ? Yeah u got dedicated tegra games but now those games is tech demos, good graphics, sux gameplay, and most of gameloft games dont support tegra, asphlat 6 for example but i heard asphlat 7 works on hox.
Hox got better design and quality of build its clear, better screen, and sense despite its sometimes laggy and slow is best android cover ;-)

Thanks, but the big question is if I should trade my S3 in for the One X or if the S3 is just as good. Also which one is more future proof in terms of performance?
You should really just go into a phone shop and try a One X. Both the S3 and One X have extensively modified versions of Android on them, which in both cases is for the worse IMO and doesn't offer the butter-smooth and clean experience I wanted Android for in the first place.
As such, which one you'll prefer is largely down to taste. For example I think the S3's built-in SMS app is horrible, whereas the One X's is great. Conversely, I think the One X's built-in browser and email client are garbage.
Performance-wise it might be the S3 is smoother, although in all honesty I didn't pick up on much of a difference when testing the two. However make no mistake, when you get a custom ROM on there which takes away all the HTC crap this phone can blaze — if Jelly Bean ROMs start appearing soon with its reputed 'project butter' performance enhancements it's going to be perfect.
As for the hardware: One X looks and feels infinitely better, S3 feels a little tacky and cheap IMO and doesn't look that hot either. The One X is probably the best industrial design I've seen for a phone yet. Also the One X does win on the specs front, although the battery life is a little inferior as a result.
Get more than one opinion don't be a tool. Read up! I like the One X mine works just fine but you have to set it up right. Almost all quad core phones is preference do you like the One X features or S3s? Sense or TouchWiz etc. etc.
Read up around here and in the dev section. see what you can do with the One X if you buy it.

See its all preference I like the One X browser and how it will re-flow the text so you don't have to keep sliding the screen back and forth and zooming in and out etc. I like how it does the word wrapping so you just scroll up and down while reading the article you focused in on it might take a big long extra second to load a page but IMO its worth it. To each his own, what some like others don't.
Answer for ur question its not that simple, its rly similar phones, only details make them different, Sense VS TouchWiz, SLCD2 vs AMOLED (with pentail), Tegra3 vs Exynos. U need to know what u rly need i picked up hox Which is more for future ? Non of them. Soon we will see brand new snapdragon s4 quad core which kill tegra3 and exynos in performance.

AGREE 100% that is going to be a beast but everyone just needs to enjoy what we have now because it wont last too long at the rate that technology is moving. More manufacturers are starting to arrive on the scene. I still want to see how this new PowerVR with the new Quad core is like. Sit back and laugh at Crapple HTC +1 for the win yesterday great!
hi man
i switched from sgs2 to htc one x
and i have to say im not impressed at all
and galaxy s3 is better than htc one x in term of hardware
and for gaming sgs3 is better than the hox
im having lags with some games some times on my htc one x i guess its a software problem
but still i dont recommend switching from sgs3 to htc one x
because imo galaxy s3 is a better phone than the htc one x
but for music i think htc one x a better a little because of the beats audio and in terms of design i think htc one x looks better
but for the rest galaxy s3 owns,,,,,
even my sgs2 preform better than htc one x in some tasks
so stick to ur sgs3 man its a great phone

No you should not. Instead you should donate money to third world countries and save people from hunger and preventable diseases.
I'm a Galaxy S3 owner I'm not here to slag off the HTC One X i think it's a great phone, as i use to have a HTC Sensation & actually liked Sence more than Touchwiz.
But i'm wondering what made you choose the the HOX over the Galaxy S3, was it build quality, Sence, Camera ect ect?

3 things:
1. Touchwiz(don't like it)
2. HTC Sense(love it)
3. When you hold S3 in your hands you get this plastic feeling, feels like a cheap toy(but that's just my opinion, I'm sure its a great phone)

1. Better Screen
2. Better UI though a bit laggy
3. Better Design and build quality
4. Tegra Chip - special tegra high quality games
5. Was released earlier and i couldn't wait till s3 was released
6. Its camera's burst feature and Feature of taking pics while shooting a video
I personally didn't want to wait for gs3 to comeout ,I wish I did,I could have saved me being angry at a phone (first time)for 4 months, now I'm happy after I got rid off it and did what I should have done fist place
i chose HOX instead of GS3 because i had galaxy s1 for 2 years and i was tired of amoled screen and crackling plastic.
the screen on hox is really better in my opinion, and colors are realer!
then, design! i loved hox since the first time i've seen it!
then i wanted to try sense, i always loved it but never used!
i'm happy of my decision and i'll never come back from it!
Cuz its just better like they said "the s3 feel's cheap n plasticy ^_^

Found GS3 to be overrated
HTC sense is much better than touchwiz
Cheaper
HTC brand
My mums GS2 had loads of issues
Don't care about the very small spped differences. Find one x faster in several cases.
THD game support. Power saver core
Honestly when the next flagship is out (MWC 2013) most people's issues with the one x will be fixed, it will use either tegra 4 or snapdragon s4 which are both 28nm a15 which will boost performance and battery life with both having improved GPU with the tegra most likely 24 core GPU. The biggest reason I would find to buy the Samsung galaxy s4 is because of the Mali gpu but tegra 4 may be better

Because I knew some day HTC will fix lagging and optimize tegra, so HOX with his diplay and design will simply become better package then sammy And yesss, they already did it with last 4.0.4 update!
i am an avid mobile gamer and the nvidia tegra chip on this phone coupled with the 1.5ghz processor simply provides an unbeatable gaming experience. i also enjoy the sense interface on this phone compared to the s3,which wasn't. to my liking. then again, its juz my opinion. im sure the s3 does have its fair share of advantages.

had my HOX even before SIII specs were released but would prefer HOX over the SIII
I prefer Sense way over Touchwiz. Android's default UI is better then Touchwiz.
Though would like the "Keep-On when watching phone" fucntion of the SIII, though I think it would drain battery.
honestly i regretted getting the hox
Not a fan of AMOLED or Touchwiz, thought the HOX looked really nice physically, and I also don't like Samsung's side power button. I also don't like the look of the S3, although it doesn't feel as bad as I expected.

These threads are not allowed in sub forums, you can post it in the android general sections, it will be closed very soon
Because I knew that the OX would become the technical and developers' successor of the HD2. In my opinion this phone will live for 2.5 years and more.
Plus I wouldn't touch a Samsung with a bargepole because of the AWFUL TouchWiz *spits*
One word: design...
Look and feel is so much better, that I would buy my hox over and over.
Other great point is the display (vividness of my original galaxy s was the main issue with it)
Although I would have better battery, but everything else is just super since I flash custom roms (I prefer stock Android look over sense and touchwiz)

IMHO no comparisons can be done! GS3 is a great device just like the HOX but it doesn't have HTC Sense (And all HTC apps)
In general, as regards the software HTC is slightly ahead and the design of this phone is far better than the GS3.
The performance are equal!! I've had both HTC and GS3 and GS2 and iPhone before, and I have to say that I'd never change my HOX!
Best phone I've ever had!!
Even if I must admit that maybe I'm lucky because my unit is just perfect (no overheating, no short battery life, no flickering, no wifi issue etc.)
To sum up, if you have the luck to get a perfect HOX it is the most advanced and beautiful phone in the world for now!
Of course there are my humble opinions...
Choice based on past experience

I chose the One X based on the fact that I used to like and trust HTC.
Their eye for detail is usually sound. The One X's pysical design is outstanding and I was originally in favour of the their new policy of a non-removal battery. Sence has also always been another plus and the reason to choose the One X. I have owned 4 other HTC phone (Hero, Desire, Desire S and the Sensation) and all devices have been enhanced by the inclusion, running alongside the various Android versions.
But having owned the One X, since May, little things about the device now have begun to annoy me. The back of the device heats up after moderate use. The non-removal battery, originally seemed like a sound idea, until you realise that the battery installed is not capable of lasting more than an 6 hours on moderate use.The fixed SD storage, with no option to add your own, like their previous devices, now can be viewd as an idiotic decision. If they were going down this route, it might have been an idea to increase the internal storage on the phone (and the battery's capacity).
Sence has now become too "heavy" for ICS and unfortunately slows the device down, god knows what it will do to the speed of the device once they upgrade it to Jelly Bean!!
Funnily enough, I still love the device
I had the s3 for 2 days and i loved it but then i tried the hox and sold my s3.
For Better screen, better build quality and better ui i dont need any more reasons
Screen
Sense
Camera
Text to fit browser
Feels nice
Call quality
Auto brightness that actually works
No constantly flashing new roms to improve things
Works great stock unrooted
No home button

Had Samsung phones for years, and loved my sg2 but got impatient waiting for the sg3 so went for the HOX.
Do not regret it at all. Had its issues in the early days as I got it on release day but all has been solved with different otas.
Screen is superior, better build quality. Development is a little slow because of the s off issue but still good. Some very talented developers on the HOX forums. I do wish the battery was removable tho.
I do wish I had my sg2 still though, mainly so I can access skygo and sky sports tv. Oddly, sky release a brand new app a week ago without supporting 2 of the most popular phones on the market right now in the sg3 and hox.
