I'm a Galaxy S3 owner I'm not here to slag off the HTC One X i think it's a great phone, as i use to have a HTC Sensation & actually liked Sence more than Touchwiz.
But i'm wondering what made you choose the the HOX over the Galaxy S3, was it build quality, Sence, Camera ect ect?

3 things:
1. Touchwiz(don't like it)
2. HTC Sense(love it)
3. When you hold S3 in your hands you get this plastic feeling, feels like a cheap toy(but that's just my opinion, I'm sure its a great phone)

1. Better Screen
2. Better UI though a bit laggy
3. Better Design and build quality
4. Tegra Chip - special tegra high quality games
5. Was released earlier and i couldn't wait till s3 was released
6. Its camera's burst feature and Feature of taking pics while shooting a video
I personally didn't want to wait for gs3 to comeout ,I wish I did,I could have saved me being angry at a phone (first time)for 4 months, now I'm happy after I got rid off it and did what I should have done fist place
i chose HOX instead of GS3 because i had galaxy s1 for 2 years and i was tired of amoled screen and crackling plastic.
the screen on hox is really better in my opinion, and colors are realer!
then, design! i loved hox since the first time i've seen it!
then i wanted to try sense, i always loved it but never used!
i'm happy of my decision and i'll never come back from it!
Cuz its just better like they said "the s3 feel's cheap n plasticy ^_^

Build quality
Found GS3 to be overrated
HTC sense is much better than touchwiz
Cheaper
HTC brand
My mums GS2 had loads of issues
Don't care about the very small spped differences. Find one x faster in several cases.
THD game support. Power saver core
Honestly when the next flagship is out (MWC 2013) most people's issues with the one x will be fixed, it will use either tegra 4 or snapdragon s4 which are both 28nm a15 which will boost performance and battery life with both having improved GPU with the tegra most likely 24 core GPU. The biggest reason I would find to buy the Samsung galaxy s4 is because of the Mali gpu but tegra 4 may be better
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
Because I knew some day HTC will fix lagging and optimize tegra, so HOX with his diplay and design will simply become better package then sammy And yesss, they already did it with last 4.0.4 update!
i am an avid mobile gamer and the nvidia tegra chip on this phone coupled with the 1.5ghz processor simply provides an unbeatable gaming experience. i also enjoy the sense interface on this phone compared to the s3,which wasn't. to my liking. then again, its juz my opinion. im sure the s3 does have its fair share of advantages.

had my HOX even before SIII specs were released but would prefer HOX over the SIII
I prefer Sense way over Touchwiz. Android's default UI is better then Touchwiz.
Though would like the "Keep-On when watching phone" fucntion of the SIII, though I think it would drain battery.
honestly i regretted getting the hox
Not a fan of AMOLED or Touchwiz, thought the HOX looked really nice physically, and I also don't like Samsung's side power button. I also don't like the look of the S3, although it doesn't feel as bad as I expected.

These threads are not allowed in sub forums, you can post it in the android general sections, it will be closed very soon
Because I knew that the OX would become the technical and developers' successor of the HD2. In my opinion this phone will live for 2.5 years and more.
Plus I wouldn't touch a Samsung with a bargepole because of the AWFUL TouchWiz *spits*
One word: design...
Look and feel is so much better, that I would buy my hox over and over.
Other great point is the display (vividness of my original galaxy s was the main issue with it)
Although I would have better battery, but everything else is just super since I flash custom roms (I prefer stock Android look over sense and touchwiz)
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
IMHO no comparisons can be done! GS3 is a great device just like the HOX but it doesn't have HTC Sense (And all HTC apps)
In general, as regards the software HTC is slightly ahead and the design of this phone is far better than the GS3.
The performance are equal!! I've had both HTC and GS3 and GS2 and iPhone before, and I have to say that I'd never change my HOX!
Best phone I've ever had!!
Even if I must admit that maybe I'm lucky because my unit is just perfect (no overheating, no short battery life, no flickering, no wifi issue etc.)
To sum up, if you have the luck to get a perfect HOX it is the most advanced and beautiful phone in the world for now!
Of course there are my humble opinions...
Choice based on past experience

I chose the One X based on the fact that I used to like and trust HTC.
Their eye for detail is usually sound. The One X's pysical design is outstanding and I was originally in favour of the their new policy of a non-removal battery. Sence has also always been another plus and the reason to choose the One X. I have owned 4 other HTC phone (Hero, Desire, Desire S and the Sensation) and all devices have been enhanced by the inclusion, running alongside the various Android versions.
But having owned the One X, since May, little things about the device now have begun to annoy me. The back of the device heats up after moderate use. The non-removal battery, originally seemed like a sound idea, until you realise that the battery installed is not capable of lasting more than an 6 hours on moderate use.The fixed SD storage, with no option to add your own, like their previous devices, now can be viewd as an idiotic decision. If they were going down this route, it might have been an idea to increase the internal storage on the phone (and the battery's capacity).
Sence has now become too "heavy" for ICS and unfortunately slows the device down, god knows what it will do to the speed of the device once they upgrade it to Jelly Bean!!
Funnily enough, I still love the device
I had the s3 for 2 days and i loved it but then i tried the hox and sold my s3.
For Better screen, better build quality and better ui i dont need any more reasons
Screen
Sense
Camera
Text to fit browser
Feels nice
Call quality
Auto brightness that actually works
No constantly flashing new roms to improve things
Works great stock unrooted
No home button

Had Samsung phones for years, and loved my sg2 but got impatient waiting for the sg3 so went for the HOX.
Do not regret it at all. Had its issues in the early days as I got it on release day but all has been solved with different otas.
Screen is superior, better build quality. Development is a little slow because of the s off issue but still good. Some very talented developers on the HOX forums. I do wish the battery was removable tho.
I do wish I had my sg2 still though, mainly so I can access skygo and sky sports tv. Oddly, sky release a brand new app a week ago without supporting 2 of the most popular phones on the market right now in the sg3 and hox.

Hi guys,
I really need your help to decide on whether or not I should trade my Galaxy Note for the HTC One X. I currently have the international version of the Note but since last week I have been hating it for the following reasons:
1) I installed ICS update on it and it's really garbage. The Touchwiz skin really makes ICS update not apparent at all.
2) Buggy official ROM. As you might be aware, there is a currently superbrick bug on the Galaxy Note even for official ROM. The phone will be bricked permanently after a wipe in CWM. The one to be blamed for this is of course Samsung.
Because of these bad supports, I am kinda leaning toward trading in my Notes for the One X. However, I heard some bad points about the One X too such as bad battery life, bad multitasking (especially since last update) and being too hot and got throttled down.
Can you guys share your opinions on this ? I tried the One X out at the store and I quite like the feels of holding the One X. Just try to look for some advice before I decide.
Thanks and cheers for your help,
Well I traded my note for a one x and I'm so glad I did while I was impressed by the note the one x is such a beautiful phone
Yes the battery life isn't as great but what phone these days has a battery that will last forever lol
Nevertheless HTC are bringing updates out quite frequently so I expect this phone to improve in areas that people are complaining about I haven't had any problems so can't comment

HTC One X why pay $200 extra for basically the same thing that next year will be out of date anyways. Plus the One X rocks! Use the search their are plenty of comparisons.
I have both Galaxy Note and One X I love the One X display compared to the note it really is an amazing looking screen the apps and widgets just sit on top like their floating on water and phones all around design is killer. Everyone that has saw it has been amazed. I can't see paying an extra $200 for the GS3, I just don't see much of a difference yeah the GS3 will probably beat the One X in benchmarks but not by that much that you are really going to be able to tell during everyday use.
The one X has handled everything I've thrown at it so far. and by the time it wont be able to run an app or game it will be time to upgrade anyways.
Its personal preference pay $200 more for the s3 or buy the One X and be happy with a phone that is amazing. 32GB with 25GB dropbox is enough for me I remember trying to fill 16GBs and it was hard and if I need to I can move things back and forth from my computer with a simple USB cord.

LOL, I was asking about the Note ha ha but thanks anyway. I currently have the Note and wondering if I should go HTC One X next. I am sick of how irresponsible Samsung are. The Note will be my last Samsung phone.
Hello
I too came from a note for a one x.
The beauty of the one x is far superior, over the years HTC have worked hard on presentation among other things, samsungs stock, im an oversized iphone look hasnt changed in years.
When it comes too stability browsing, the Note beats the HTC into submission im afraid, but this is because it runs a solid and stable GB os, far superior to the crappy versions of ics we run on the htc, and before anyone jumps in screaming ICS rocks, wake up, if you think ICS is bug free and the finished article then youre clearly not seeing the facts. GB is more stable, but there again, its been around a lot longer, i expect ics will be just as good when it is the polished article.
The note was way too clumsy as a phone, one of the reasons i gave up on it, the one x is much nicer in every design way possible, plus the one x has superior power over the note, and i wouldnt worry about battery, i get a day from my one x, thats no different to what my note gave me.
The main reason i left the note was because the custom development side of the note forum on here became a massive issue for me, too many releases were responsible for bricking peoples Notes beyond repair, it became unsafe to flash custom software from over there, not that im blaming anyone, great group of lads, but the minute that happened i lost all faith.
The development just became a Miui thread in the end practically, it was time to move on, ive had a htc before and i know on here, some of the developers and cooks have a very very good reputation, one of the reasons i chose HTC because i know when these lads finally get to grips with the s-on problem there will be no end to the development, and the note hasnt even had official ics yet, what a joke, i think with android 5.0 around the corner, the future of htc and one x is safe on this forum, youll get updates a lot faster than on samsung.
Horses for courses my friend, it is your choice, but i agree with toonarmy, HTC ONE X, bring it on, it can only get better from here on.
Read my post on the guys thread who was asking GSIII or One X Rom support
Thanks for your informative post. That's true though. I have the Galaxy S, S2 and now the Note and I feel they are pretty much the same. The Touchwiz skin turns out to be worse than I initially thought. To make it worse, they cover ICS native skin with this fugly skin and make it so fugly beyond repairs.
To top it off, because of the superbrick bug, I am so scared to flash any official ROM and to even update my device to official ICS ROM. This really killed the whole purpose of getting an Android phone, which is to do whatever you like with it.
Beside, I did some wipes when I was in ICS and according to the guys in the Galaxy Note forum, my eMMC might have been damaged. I really don't want to deal with all the warranty repair hassle so it might be the right time for me to get rid of my Note.

One thing i hate about Samsung, touchwiz 3 at sgs1 and they didn't update it to touchwiz 4, unlike dhd which one got updated from 2.0 to 3.6 and possibly even to 4.0. Samsung sucks at updates.

I was thinking about buying one X too but reading this forum indicates so many problem with quality built. I just sit out for now because if I buy iy, it will be from Ebay or Amazon (live in US) and very difficult with warranty and stuff.
Take the One X and you won`t be sorry. I had the Note and i didn`t use the whole pen utility`s (notes and drawings). I just loved the big screen and the powerfull cpu. But the amount of pixels slowed it down quite heavily in performance.
The One X seems snappier and more direct imo.

My bad I'm so used to post saying should i get SG3 or One X, man that drives me crazy.... They both are good in their own rights. But anyways once again my bad just a little jumpy with all the SG3 or One X post I see. People need to search and their are already hundreds.................X10 SG3 or One X post.
I should have added some useful info since I own both. Here is how I see it the Note is a good PDA IMO. Its just doesn't have the feel of a phone to me, its not really good to carry around for everyday use. Its nice size screen for certain things I use mine like a tablet basically. I just needed something I could carry in my pocket and the note just didn't really fit right, I don't really like touch-wiz it feels like you are still on gingerbread, the way its designed. The display kills it when trying to watch a video it shows artifacts in the blacks, like really old .AVI videos. Thats just my personal opinion.
I think, htc one x. Sound is good, lighter and more compact than note.

My friend has the note, and I did a quick comparison with my one X.
The one X is super smooth scrolling between homescreens etc, wheras there is a noticeable lag on the note, in nearly everything.
The screen is good on the note, but the one X is so much better, in both colour reproduction and of course pixel density
And the one X is really nice to hold and use on an everyday basis, whereas the note is unwieldy and too shiny, so really slippery in hand
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
For me it's simples, build and feel quality. Samsung consistently produce sub-par products in the quality of materials department........and that's being kind.
HTC have always produced premium feeling hardware and the HOX is no exception.
Note or One X
Had my HTC one X for a week now and very happy with it. Previously had a Galaxy S and wasn't impressed with the Touch Wiz interface so that put me off the Note as did the size ,thought 5.3 inch was a little OTT.
Very happy with it so far. The stock Rom runs very smooth even with the Vodafone clutter installed. If it carries on as it is now i wont even look at custom ROM as there will be no point.
Only downer is the battery but as pointed out by someone earlier that's the deal with a smartphone . I charge once a day and although i would like it to last longer i can cope. Think those of us who have had a few smartfones now accept we have to manage the battery ourselves so if im at work and not using it i turn to 2g, brightness down and turn off auto sync and i can get from 9-6 with 91% left then i can go mad with all the bells and whistles on when im out and about with worry. Seems like a hassle altering the settings for different situations but it only takes 20 seconds in reality with a few well places shortcuts.
Love the feel as well, very hard to let slip in the hand unless some more plastic y phones.
Now I think HTC one x quality is perfect rather than the first batch of phones.. I got the first batch also with flaws but HTC swapped it with a perfect one.. ht24 serial rather than ht23.. by the way, I held the note side by side to my one x and the camera and screen of the one x is much superior than the note IMHO.. the guys posted before is right same old style, feel and interface with galaxy series nothing new just the size rather than sense UI..

I could add that HTC One X has a super nice GPS - takes about 4s to get signal in buildings - that's just ridicules
I traded my Note for this bad boy. Well worth it my friend
Sent from my HTC One X
I have both and I like both.
I prefer One X cause it's more portable and has clearly a better screen. GNote has the advantage (while One X doesn't get S-OFF) of allowing to install custom roms without voiding warranty and of the bigger screen, which really makes a difference for e-reading.
I have both and I have ended up using the One X more. There are things that I really love about the note, but the updates and ICS on it are a let down. I for one really like sense and have since win mo days. To each his own
So I know im ought to get some bias asking this question on here but I am wondering whether I should get the Galaxy Nexus or HTC One X.
The HTC One X obviously has the better hardware (screen, processor, BT 4.0, battery, etc) but the thing the Galaxy Nexus has is the stock Android experience and priority OS updates. But im guessing that the HTC One X will have unofficial ports of stock Android.
So I guess the question is, should I go for the Galaxy Nexus that is Google and will get stock Android that is customized for it or should I get the HTC One X that has better hardward but will have to get unofficial ports of Android to it.
Edit: Accidentally posted this in general. Can mods please help me move this into QA. Sorry

That thread is about specs. If I was looking for specs then I would've gotten the HTC One X already.
I'd go for the Nexus if you can get past the pentile display. I'm a very picky person, and while I do notice it from time to time I can definitely live with it. I'm not too sure why anyone needs a quad core phone to e-mail or text someone. I do like to game, but most don't work well on touch screens, so the high end games that actually tax the thing I don't really enjoy playing. Give me Block Breaker HD over any of the high end titles anyday.
My main reason for going with the Nexus is timely updates and lots of customization. I mean, I'm using Jellybean and it's not even released yet. Coming from HTC and Sony this is definitely a nice change.
Well, if you go for a Nexus you might have to get it used if you don't order soon considering the current ban... which might make your decision a bit easier.

I have the One X now, have had the Gnex before and, am getting it again from the play store.
The One X is a very nice phone design-wise. I like the design better than the Gnex. It has HTC sense which is not that bad this time and runs very well with ICS, this is one of the reasons I got it. The One X doesn't have the software buttons like the Gnex so your getting all the use of the 4.8 inch screen, making it seem bigger. You can't remove the battery but from my experience, the battery will last all day once you charge and discharge it a few times. The One X has LTE and can fall back on HSPA+ (the faster version).
The Gnex is a pure Google phone and with Jellybean running on it that makes the choice easy for me. I'm a fan of pure Google. The Gnex is also nice design-wise with it's black screen with no logos on the front and, slim curved shape. From the videos I've watched, the Gnex running 4.1 (jellybean) runs just as good, if not better than the One X. The Gnex only has HSPA + and it seems like the slower version form my experience.
Overall I like the Gnex but, it just depends what you looking for. You can't go wrong with either. When I get mine I'll be able to really compare them side by
side. In my opinion, what ruins the carrier phones is how they put the skins on them without giving people a choice to run pure Google. A One X or S3 running pure Android 4.1 would be super phones.
HTC One X vs Galaxy Nexus
Jelly Bean
Took my Jellied out Nexus to the store the other day.
Honestly thought my Nexus was faster than the AT&T One X.
I had both (AT&T One X BTW). And although the HOX has better hardware no doubt, I like the GNEX better overall and heres why
*Its a Nexus... Updates galore!!!
*On screen buttons are more attractive to me (beats the lazy menu button the HOX uses on un-updated apps)
*Jellybean..... OMFG Jellybean!!!! I used to hate that the GNEX had a weak-ish processor but project butter made me shove my tounge down my throat. It is smoother than the HOX with ICS overall and its gonna take a while till an official update for HTC, when they smear Sense all over it. I am more than pleased with the performance
*No S-ON/S-OFF woes like HTC phones
* $10 unlimited data :-D
What i miss from the One X. The camera quality, the smooth curved feel of the screen when you glide your finger to the edge, the soft touch texture of the body, LTE speeds

Get the Nexus. Fastboot oem unlock FTW.
I bought a HTC ONE X and used if for 14 days before selling it for a Galaxy Nexus. While the HOX was a beautiful looking phone and had a better screen and faster processor I just couldn't adjust to sense ui after coming from stock android on my nexus s previously. Apart from this the set i had was suffering from overheating issues...don't know if its with all quad core processors but that phone really cant handle the hot weather here in Pakistan (46 Degrees Celcius today) and was more often than not running at 50 to 56 degrees with wifi on or when charging. This overheating was also causing weird screen issues which i researched and found was common in the HOX. Overall I dont regret getting rid of the one x and getting a galaxy nexus
I liked the One X, I had three of them. All had different hardware faults. The battery drained too fast for my liking as well. Amazing idle time, soon as you use it... drains like crazy. Even worse than the Nexus does, if you can believe such a thing.
New Nexus is a seemingly perfect phone. The Note would have been if it didn't have Touchwizz on it.
I had a htc one x but also had loads of issues with quality control. This only seems to affect the quad core one x so I think you will be fine if you get the XL. I prefer sense to stock myself . But jellybean on the nexus looks amazing and I'm getting mine this week
one x
I have them both, and love them
To be perfectly honest, you're a fool if you get a non-Nexus Android phone.

Hey I was wondering if the One X has any noticeable differences in performance compared to the S3 gaming and UI wise. I have an S3 but I like the Tegra optimized games and the design of the One X, but i heard that there is noticeable lag and the S3 is better. Please help with my decision. Thanks!
Yes, Sense is much heavier UI, much more than TouchWiz, laggs happens, sometimes often, hox software isnt good enough to make this phone good enough, bugs happens, but its still good smatrphone.
Hope HTC will get his ass to work, and fix all of this ... sh*t

Is that a yes that I should get it? Also can you confirm what people say that gaming and music are better on the One X (International), over the S3 (International). Those are my two main selling point because I already like the One X build quality better.
Well imo sgs3 is better for music, hox dont have microsd slot, on stock firmware sounds awful, and battery is worst than g3, with mods its better ofc.
For games ? Yeah u got dedicated tegra games but now those games is tech demos, good graphics, sux gameplay, and most of gameloft games dont support tegra, asphlat 6 for example but i heard asphlat 7 works on hox.
Hox got better design and quality of build its clear, better screen, and sense despite its sometimes laggy and slow is best android cover ;-)

Thanks, but the big question is if I should trade my S3 in for the One X or if the S3 is just as good. Also which one is more future proof in terms of performance?
You should really just go into a phone shop and try a One X. Both the S3 and One X have extensively modified versions of Android on them, which in both cases is for the worse IMO and doesn't offer the butter-smooth and clean experience I wanted Android for in the first place.
As such, which one you'll prefer is largely down to taste. For example I think the S3's built-in SMS app is horrible, whereas the One X's is great. Conversely, I think the One X's built-in browser and email client are garbage.
Performance-wise it might be the S3 is smoother, although in all honesty I didn't pick up on much of a difference when testing the two. However make no mistake, when you get a custom ROM on there which takes away all the HTC crap this phone can blaze — if Jelly Bean ROMs start appearing soon with its reputed 'project butter' performance enhancements it's going to be perfect.
As for the hardware: One X looks and feels infinitely better, S3 feels a little tacky and cheap IMO and doesn't look that hot either. The One X is probably the best industrial design I've seen for a phone yet. Also the One X does win on the specs front, although the battery life is a little inferior as a result.
Get more than one opinion don't be a tool. Read up! I like the One X mine works just fine but you have to set it up right. Almost all quad core phones is preference do you like the One X features or S3s? Sense or TouchWiz etc. etc.
Read up around here and in the dev section. see what you can do with the One X if you buy it.

See its all preference I like the One X browser and how it will re-flow the text so you don't have to keep sliding the screen back and forth and zooming in and out etc. I like how it does the word wrapping so you just scroll up and down while reading the article you focused in on it might take a big long extra second to load a page but IMO its worth it. To each his own, what some like others don't.
Answer for ur question its not that simple, its rly similar phones, only details make them different, Sense VS TouchWiz, SLCD2 vs AMOLED (with pentail), Tegra3 vs Exynos. U need to know what u rly need i picked up hox Which is more for future ? Non of them. Soon we will see brand new snapdragon s4 quad core which kill tegra3 and exynos in performance.

AGREE 100% that is going to be a beast but everyone just needs to enjoy what we have now because it wont last too long at the rate that technology is moving. More manufacturers are starting to arrive on the scene. I still want to see how this new PowerVR with the new Quad core is like. Sit back and laugh at Crapple HTC +1 for the win yesterday great!
hi man
i switched from sgs2 to htc one x
and i have to say im not impressed at all
and galaxy s3 is better than htc one x in term of hardware
and for gaming sgs3 is better than the hox
im having lags with some games some times on my htc one x i guess its a software problem
but still i dont recommend switching from sgs3 to htc one x
because imo galaxy s3 is a better phone than the htc one x
but for music i think htc one x a better a little because of the beats audio and in terms of design i think htc one x looks better
but for the rest galaxy s3 owns,,,,,
even my sgs2 preform better than htc one x in some tasks
so stick to ur sgs3 man its a great phone

Hey I was wondering if the One X has any noticeable differences in performance compared to the S3 gaming and UI wise. I have an S3 but I like the Tegra optimized games and the design of the One X, but i heard that there is noticeable lag and the S3 is better. Please help with my decision. Thanks!

No you should not. Instead you should donate money to third world countries and save people from hunger and preventable diseases.
Hello,
Is there any real difference between S4 and Tegra 3 processors? I mean benchmarks are benchmarks, but the feel in daily use? Games? (i know battery life is a lot better in S4), maybe because of newer kernel or so? Red all these benchmarks all over the globe and still can not decide what to do. Maybe HTC will release some gold bullet fix/improvement or so..
I am from eastern Europe so there are only International version of One X with Tegra 3 processor. Also we have SGS3 with quad-core and HTC One S with S4 lets say. The price difference for now is really not that big, for about 50Euros (HOX > SGS3 > HOS). I did hold all the phones, as my personal experience i really did not like SGS3 brightness, it seemed very dark but the deep colors and black was stunning. Inside i liked SGS3 screen more and opposite at outside. Did not tried HOS turned on but i liked most of three the feeling in my hand while holding it.
How about future development? What is you opinion? Is international version of HOX going down? Should i buy SGS3, because i like custom roms so much.. Or should i buy HOS (this one is more complicated, i need to wait some time for it .. and i do not have a phone because of some hobo who stole it ).
This is really hard to pick for me because prob i will stick to that device year or maybe two.
Please do not be mad, i know there are tons of posts out there, comparing these phones, but if i read them all (i did some reading) i will lose my mind and will buy One S with S3 .. or god bless iPhone.
P.S. the last one was a joke.
Thank you for your answers!!! :good:
Well you wrote this on an HTCOne X thread. Therefore everybody will tell you to get the ONE X, however if you want the best experience possible i would go with the SG3.
Why?
1) SG3 has much developer support.
2)Quad core Exynos is faster then Nvdias Tegra 3
3)Many games are not optimized for Tegra therefore they wont work
4) HTC One X lacks a removable battery, SG3 does have a removable battery
5)SG3 supports external SD
6)Bigger display on the SG3
This are some pros and cons. The SG3 is by far the better option.
Samsung Galaxy s2 Nuclear Rocket - Embryo 4.1 [UCLE2 BASE]
iPhone 4S - Enjoyed but Had to Move ON
iPhone 3GS - Went for a Swim
Dog - Custom Rom [Golden Retriever] [BEAR2 BASE]
id pock the hox or s3 for development, as many devs like the s3 , and hox has the tegra which is in the n7. but if y account for looks and feel, one x wins. then after, the one x screen clarity and brightness along woth actual representation of colors beats any smartphobe screen hands down. however, if u like the amoled feel, then its another story.i d pick hox>s3>one s

My opinion:
Htc one x is the best phone i ever had, display is amazing, THD games have very real graphic, used to use latest phones and this quadcore with ARHD 7.2.1 (rom) is far away from others phone that i had (note s2 s1 evo3d iphones) im very happy with hox, very fast and designed well with sense 4, battery is good but (not like S2 or Note they had better battery i think). but my only concern is every time i check xda threads for hw issues i have a little heart attack till i check if im affected of hw issue or not, im lucky couse my hox never had problems in hardware, but people are facing lot of problems, so if i had to buy another phone, for example if i losse hox or something, i dont dare to order hox becouse of hw issues, i will keep it and my next phone will be SGS3 and and im sure i dont need to check for hw issues S3. Dont know much about s3 but i believe on galaxys.
Just my opinion.
Hope if you get one x u will be fault free and enjoy the best phone till now.

Thinking about replacing my Infuse. I've read some good things about the One X. Anything else you prefer in the same price range?

More than happy!
I am thinking to buy another phone, (will keep my One X for sure) but after a lot of reading, there is nothing worth buying until new Tegra 4 comes out or when we see how new Galaxy 4 is performing after it comes out. At least for me.
Especially now I am happy for having One X because new kernel source is out before two days ago and there is lot of good developers working on optimize it and push the best out of our HOX. Also many quality custom roms, Sense and AOSP and excellent developers support and help.
I am having really good time playing with my One X.
Are you ahppy with your One X
Yes.
For me it is perfect. Works great, no bugs, looks good.
I like HTC Sense (this is my second HTC phone).
Only 2 drawbacks, depending on your usage habits:
If you are a heavy "power user" a phone with a replacable battery might be advantageous so you can switch out halfway through the day (this is not an issue for me)
If you are big into flashing Roms themeing etc a phone without the S-off issues of the One X

What issues does not having s-off cause for flashing roms and theming apart from flashing boot.img from a pc?

Power is a bit of a problem but for me its not that important as I am used to charge my device every night.
If only the losing carrier signal once or twice every couple of months bug didnt exist the HOX would be perfect.
Be as it may I pretty happy with the beast.
If I were you though I d go for the HOX+ or wait a couple of months for the M7
It's a disappointing performance from HTC one x considering the quad-core ,it should fly it doesn't
No its the last HTC for me after the Desire which was easy to flash roms, this requires too much time and effort.Appalling build quality mine went back 3 times in first 6 months.
i am happy with my one x without sense
I must be very happy because I haven't swapped it for something else. Normally I don't keep a phone more than 2 months let alone 10 months on the one x.
Although I've initially suffered because I couldn't get used to getting only 3-4 h of screen on-time with this beautiful device, I've now come to love it despite that. After all, the stand-by time can be pretty great and most other devices out there have similar average screen-on time (except Razr MAXX and Note 2).
I actually think Sense is the best looking OEM skin and the 4+ version is oh so fluid. Love the camera and the display of my One X too.

Not really , did you compare it to other phones , usually ppl compare it with s3 since it's rival to hox and both phones are great , it all comes to personal preference in there. If you're talking about gaming on HoX well that could be an issue for some games since devs are more confortable optimizing it for other devices then tegra. As for speed in system hox is pretty fast considering it has ONE OF THE HEAVIEST systems among them all, If you put CM rom on it you wont see any difference btw nexus 4 , s3 or any other phone, it's the sense that is lagging it sometimes. Anyway with new kernel source this should be fixed in no time.
The only real issue for me with hox would be battery life screen on time. I hit avarage 4:30- 5hrs , but hey s3 hits the similar screen on time, besides with 2100 mah battery in hox we can hit over 6hrs screen on time, it's just hard to get one of those.
Besides with ViperX rom theres none phone equal with customization , infact i have 2 friends who sold their s3 just so they use Viper Rom lol. Besides i think roms for hox are better then on s3 , i've seen s3 roms and theres nothing much changed compared to Stock rom. If you like flashing and custom roms then hox is great imo.
S-off isn't really an issue except when updating comes to the matter if you're branded , but for flashing i don't mind using pc to do it.
Anyway overall i'm happy with my hox. And i'll most likely keep it even when i get the new flagship this year simply cuz it's beautiful to look at it , talking about screen and design lol.
On a side note Sense 5 is rumored to be MUCH lighter OS then sense 4+ , and if you ask me 4+ is very snappy after jelly bean . maybe with android 5 our battery and snappiness improves. At least it should. And HoX should recieve sense 5 for sure , since OEMS are obligated to give to the users at least 2 major updates . we got 1 , JB , now is time for android 5 Key lime pie Anyway i hope i helped you with this post.
Edit - Since you're considering btw Hox and probably s3 since theres nothing else to chose from with this price range i'll put it simple for you.
If you want better battery go for S3
If you want design , beauty and BUILD quality go for hox.
But the best of all you should do this, go in the store and use both of these and then make up your mind. Before that you might wanna read few reviews about hox and S3 , just remember most of the reviews are based on ICS hox , after jelly bean hox is claimed to be faster then S3 in 90% of the comparable tests heres the link proving it. http://www.gsmarena.com/jelly_bean_update_for_htc_one_x_boosts_performance-news-5010.php
Once again the best thing to do is go in the store and review them both by yourself.
actually if you have thousands of cores, Android phone will still have a bit of lag/stutter. even iOS have it when memory almost full.
This is all dalvik related, and unless Google slowly migrating to other language, the lag/stutter will never be gone. it is all because of unstable frame rate. one time you play a game is smooth, next time it stutters.
So yeah, I am very much happy with my One X. The only reason for me to change phone is because of the design and dev support. Well probably not change, just add my collection. The day Google fix the stutter is the day even dual core is lag free that it doesnt matter what phone you have. because, you see, we have a quad core, but S2 still performs the quite the same. So whats the difference there? I have to admit Samsung made great processor that overshadow the lag, even though i still notice slight lag over time.
anyway, One X design still one of the best. and also, i still have my HTC Desire around to remind how grateful i am to actually have a fast and beautiful one x, because when i go back to Desire, man how slow it is back then but i found it fast before dual core is available.

I must say that I was a little disappointed when I first got my HOX. Stock ROM doesn't make justice to this device hardware. Right now I'm on AOKP IceColdJelly and can say, for sure, that I coudn't be more satisfied. Custom ROMs unleash the true performance of this phone.
Having had a forced switch to a Nexus 4 as a result of bricking my One X (it was all I could afford), I thought I'd give a few points of comparison. Firstly, I much prefer the 'feel' of the One X. They're both clearly very well made devices, but the material choices in the HOX allow it to both feel classy and be comfortable to hold with the lovely soft-touch back. The Nexus 4 is definitely not as comfortable to hold, and I have complete paranoia about having 2 big glass surfaces to break...
The camera on the One X blows the Nexus 4 out of the water. In fact, the camera on the One X is good enough that you probably wouldn't benefit from carrying a compact digicam around too, so long as you don't need zoom. Especially in low light (thanks to the lovely f/2.0 lens), I would say the camera on the One X is better than the latest Samsung handsets (which use the same sensor lol)... Although it does seem to have a slight tendency to overexpose and blow out highlights in bright daylight (easily corrected with around -1EV exposure compensation) and the default sharpening is a little aggressive - you might see some aliasing on diagonal contrast detail if you don't turn it down a wee bit.
Benchmark performance is obviously better on the N4, but given the margin, I'm surprised (and glad, since I have a Nexus 7 which would feel laggy otherwise) it's not really noticeable in day-to-day use - if anything, the fact that quite a few games are 'Tegra enhanced' makes the One X one of the best phones out there for a gamer, since stuff looks prettier...
Screen quality is very similar between the phones after using a different calibration on the Nexus 4. However, unlike the N4, the out of the box calibration on the One X is surprisingly good and I do miss the screen area 'stolen' by the soft keys on the N4. Both screens are a world apart from any phone I've tried in the past. They both have quite remarkable contrast (which blows my calibrated Dell IPS LCDs out of the water) although they obviously can't match the contrast of an AMOLED. On the other hand, they don't have wacky cartoonishly oversaturated colours like AMOLEDs.
I've been very positive about the HOX here, but I'm afraid to say I don't think I would take a HOX over several other phones if they were offered at similar prices, purely because the battery life wasn't good enough for me (although it may be for you.) Standby life is very good, but you'll be very lucky to get 4 hours screen-on time even with light usage, and even less if you don't like Sense and want to run AOSP/CM. Just browsing the web and watching YouTube, I got over 7 hours out of my N4 yesterday (It's my new baby, I've just been made redundant, have a lot of time to play with it ) That's a pretty significant difference!

u can say that im adoring my HOX in general, but the battery life worries me all the time (u get around 4 hrs on screen)
i was on ICS and now on JB (THE awesomeness) ..
Gr8 custom ROMs if u r interested (used 2 use Insertcoin but now im on ViperX 3.3.4 ... heck yea) alot of devs r working on this phone
we hope that the new kernel would fix some issues ..
Concerning its design, i think the HOX is truly a Masterpiece ..
It is indeed a Flagship phone ( battery )
I'd say, go 4 it
I am really happy with my One X. Hopefully it will keep me happy for quite some time.

I'm very happy with my One X . I've unlocked my bootloader on Thursday and now I love my phone even more. Thanks HTC for this great phone:thumbup:

This phone is great except for the abysmal battery life. I barely get 2 hours of screen time with it, let alone 3 or 4 hours. I use Spotify streaming regularly but this phone can barely last 4 to 5 hrs with that. One other minor problem is the poor sound quality and low volume compared to my previous iPhone 4S. I hope HTC fixes all these quibbles with the M7, or I might head for the iPhone 5s or SGS4.
I'm happy with my one x right now ...it's pretty usable for my daily use...
