Oh My God, I Might Have launcher2 Working

Its not great yet, but im getting there. I now have the stock, android 2.1 working but not 100% functional, I also have 5 homescreens. So what you will see in the youtube video soon is a bit out of date.

whats launcher 2?

Am i missing something?

If I understand it correctly, that's the launcher (app drawer) from Nexus One.

would like to see 5 icons across rather than four. But not sure what else it does lol

How have you had it working, i.e. in the sense that it looks and acts like a nexus one.

We have already found that you just pull the apk from a nexus1 rom and install it onto the desire.

Then you goto applications and remove htcsense from being default and force close it. when you next go to the home screen it asks which one you want to use (htcsense or launcer2)
EDIT: You can also install Gallery3d from the nexus this way

But if you just install launcher2.apk from N1 it's not functioning properly -- icons are small, etc.

Works fine here, everything looks exactly as it should

Maybe I had the wrong APK. Can you share the one you've used?

ADW Launcher?

Is there a specific reason why I can't see ADW Launcher in the Market?

The search engine for the market is not that great. Try reformatting the way you type ADW launcher, or just search launcher and look through the list. At one time I think it was "ADW.Launcher" but I am not positive.

Its there if you just type adw in the search but there's so many friggen themes for it that its kinda hidden next to the bottom of the list. Great launcher...

i couldnt find it at first but it is definitely in there its just so hard to find because of the overwhelming amount of themes and stuff lol.

i just downloaded this and changed up my phone screens... i like it because i only use 5 screens and this took it from 7 to 5 and i was able to customize a few things and i think its awesome!

I agree. You'd think it would work well on an OS from a search engine company, but what do I know?

Fix what? The fact that it is the 50th on the list because of all the themes? I don't think he can fix that.

thats why he couldnt see i had the same issue

Fix the way the launcher is set up in the market search. It needs a new tag to differentiate it from themes. Whatever, I was just trying to help you help yourself.

This should work. It's actually named "ADW.Launcher" in market.

I have found it, installed it, but selected the default launcher, and now i cant get back to ADW no matter what i try. I have uninstalled and installed, and when i go to "manage applications", the only option it gives me is to uninstall. All the other options are greyed out. Any suggestions?

Thanks. Anderwebs told me the same thing.

market>apps>productivity>top free>scroll down a bit and it's there, searching causes more of a headache when looking for this app, although as much as i love adw my G2 lagged a lot when i was using it so i went back to stock launcher2

[Q] No status bar on lock screen

I searched but nothing besides launcher pro and widget locker which gave me too many fc's so im back at the beginning i want to hide the status bar on lock screen hopefully someone knows how to do this or know of a stable app that helps if not thanks anyway.

I don't know is this enabled on all rom's but on Calkulin you just need to scroll up on top of the screen and status bar hide (same thing to show),
For Menu bar you scroll up on the bottom and menu hide, you scroll down at (same place) bottom and menu show up again.
Hope I didn't misunderstood your question, and again hope all rom's have this enabled.

Wow so is that your lock screen because i can do that using adw ex but just not on lock screen ...Nice wallpaper too

I've only found to be able to do it with widgetlocker. Running adwex on mik 4.4 no problems.

Yea me too lol i would love to keep using it but it keeps giving me fc but oh well

Have you tried upgrading to Mik 4.4 and see if it still does? Could nand your current set up. Load up 4.4, install widgetlocker and run it on base to see if you still get FC's.

Is there anyway to port this type of lockscreen to the Epic?

I know that I can use WidgetLocker, and I've already bought it but I don't really like it. It seems to lag, like when i hit thte power button from standby, I see the original ASOP screen first and a second later the widgetlocker rotary pops up.
Anyone have any ideas as to how to address this?

that would be nice the one with the four option is hot

you can get this on Cm6 but right not no devs are willing to do all this work then have to redo it when an official 2.2 is out

If you are rooted you can use the 5 second rule bypass on the widgetlocker advance options.
If you are not rooted then use the homehelper option in the widgetlocker options.

I use no lock with widget locker. It disables the stock lock but does cause a half second lag for the screen to turn on, which doesn't bug me as much. The lag could be caused by my widgets though, not sure

So does anyone know if someone has ported this to work with EB13 or any of the custom roms? I've used to on he CM7 Alpha build, and I was wonderinf if someone took the time to port it. I'd do it myself, but at this point I have little to no knowlegde with any of the languages used to program this stuff.

I'm not sure if this is allowed, but bump haha.

[Q] Scrollable Dock (TouchWiz)

A few days ago, I started modifying my stock launcher on my Galaxy Tab3 (GT-P5200). I've focused on the dock.
Till now I've managed to modify the launcher so far, that I can store up to 13 icons on the dock.
I also managed to remove the text from the icons. This is how my screen looks at the moment.

Now I want to continue modifying the dock by making it scrollable (like the homescreen or appdrawer).
And before anyone suggests me exactly, what I do not want, I'll explain briefly what is important for me.
I don't want to use a different launcher (like Nova / AWD / Apex / or something like that).
I also do not want to use any other app, which modifies my launcher.
I simply want to modify my stock launcher (TouchWiz) by modifying the code itself
I would appreciate it if anyone could help me or at least could explain to me
where the scrolling of the homescreens is defined in the code.

Well, ... I just modified SecLauncher3.apk. But I recognized that these 13 apps won't survive a reboot.
When I reboot my device, the system/launcher (or whatever it is) resets the dock, so that only 10 apps
will be shown after reboot. I still have the possibility to put up to 13 apps on the dock, but after reboot,
only 10 apps will be shown.

Oh, yeah...thanks! I had never concidered (with my limited knowledge) that the launcher is also just an apk running on android. big ah-ha moment for me there. Thanks for the eye opener.
