Motorola Razr FIDO Android 4 - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

I want to update my razr to android 4. I tried downloading the posted 4 firmware, and changed to update.zip but I get signature not valid when trying to install.

Either the update is for rooted devices and your device is not rooted or vice versa.

My devices rooted. I followed the instruction and it says to root phone first

Any help?

uhmm the ota for 4.0 is now available , why don’t you just install that

Rooting Motorola Droid 4

I've been searching high and low for how to root my Verizon Motorola Droid 4 running Android 4.0.4.
Verizon is trying to push the Jelly Bean update which I do not want since it will block FoxFi. For now, I've been able to keep the update at bay by peridoically going to my update menu and clicking delay which postpones the update by 12 hours.
I've tried several different software downloads which promise to root my phone but none of them have worked.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The attached utility rooted my phone sucessfully. I did not write it and forget where I got it from.
My thanks to the creator.

[Q] - What is the latest OTA version Stump can root?

I'm new to this phone (coming from a Droid RAZR HD that had an unlocked bootloader via an exploit). I've been flashing custom ROMs since my LG Vortex days (then Droid X2, then RAZR MAXX and then the RAZR HD).
I just picked this phone up at Verizon and it wanted to download an update. I refused as I don't know what it might do to my ability to root and bump. Already know what it could do to block people from doing customization to their phones.
Currently, the phone is at the following version:
KVT49L.VS98510B
The update it tried to push was:
LG_VS985_10B_TO_11C.
Is this still rootable/bumpable or would I have to downgrade? What is the latest OTA for this phone that can still be rooted without having to flash a bumped stock ROM? I've searched through the forums and it appears from what I can tell, the 10B is the latest version that can be rooted. Anything later requires downgrading back to 10B.
Also, have they released an OTA yet that prevents downgrading to a previous version yet? I want to make sure I don't take an OTA that I shouldn't.
Thanks!

[Q] My nexus 7 its crazy and getting error updating.

Hi, i have some kind of problem with my nexus 7 2013.. I already have lollipop 5.1.1 official on my tablet and have root and unlocked bootloader (root with king root, yes it works and is rooted.. And bootloader unlocked with boot unlocker.. I know you might think that this are not the best way of rooting or unloking the bootloader but it worked for me and im happy) and since yesterday the tablet keeps telling me to update via OTA the 5.1.1 update witch i already have..i press update to install it as normal, it reboot as normal too and when it shows me the parte where it suppose to be installing the update (you know, with the android with the chest open part) the only thing that says is "error" it doesn't install anything..i did this like 3 times now and every one of them says error.. The annoying part is that it keeps showing me the notification to update it..so any solutions? Thanks!
Sorry for bad english blah blah...
You can't take ota updates if you modify system files, you did that with root. Don't know why it's showing you 5.1.1 when you already have it.
Just flash the factory image with fastboot (probably no need to wipe, just flash boot.img and system.img and format cache).
That should fix the problem. It will also remove root. I'd recommend not using that king root **** but whatever. Probably better to just flash the su zip in twrp or use CF-Auto-Root.
When the next update comes remember you won't be able to take the ota. But that doesn't matter since google posts factory images and all you need to do is flash it with fastboot, then root again.

Click to collapse
There's a new 5.1.1 = LMY48G
Original 5.1.1 is LMY47V
^Oh yeah, lol.
Still the rest of my post will get it installed for op.

How to downgrade to kitkat or lollipop from any higher android operating system

Hi Guys,
I am back with another thread for people who want to downgrade their Android ROM for different reasons from any higher android version, like some of you getting problem with new O.S, some of you might not like the new O.S and as in my case my new o.s marshmallow got crashed/currupted.
As in my case when my new updated O.S 6.0 Marshmallow got crashed, then no way was left to me but to reinstall 6.0 M on my phone, but as stock ROM of marshmalow for HTC Desire 816 dual sim A5_dwg indian version was not available on any portal online, so i need to rollback to any lower version android like kitkat or lollipop.
As you guys must know that if your phone is running on higher android O.S then it doesn't matter whether its corrupted or showing errors, you can't rollback/downgrade to any lower version android.
For finding way to get out of this problem, i am sharing some steps which i followed to rollback my phone to lower android version.
Step 1: First of all please make ready your computer by installing ADB drivers, fastboot utility and drivers for your phone.
Step 2: As i have already made clear that you can't roll back to lower android version from higher one so for doing that you need to unlock your phone's bootloader , ROOT your phone by following this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2775801 and install any custom recovery available like CWM or TWRP, i personally prefer TWRP.
IMPORTANT Note: For users who have rooted and un-rooted their phones in past, updated stock ROM to any new stock version and already having Unlock_code.bin file on their e-mail, don't try to use that file now again for unlocking your phones bootloader as it will not work, you need regenerate that unlock_code.bin file from HTC website because with updated stock ROM, code for unlocking bootloader also changes.
Step 3: Once you are done with Rooting and installing custom recovery and Super user app. now it's time to install any custom ROM like cynogenmod or any other custom rom available for you phone. For downloading and installing CM 13 follow links given https://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=a5dwg
https://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_a5dwg
Step 4: Once you are done with installing custom ROM CM 13 on your phone now you can start procedure to Un-Root your phone, install stock recovery and flash any lower android version stock ROM on your phone.
for unrooting and rolling back to stock rom you can follow my thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/desire-816/help/how-to-unroot-roll-to-stock-htc-desire-t3487894
and

Wollah....... you are now ready with lower android version ROM on your phone and now you can update your phone O.S with OTA updates released by your phones manufacturer.

Help me flash Android 10 beta on my S9+ please!

I am using a rooted Galaxy S9+ running the latest version of LightROM.
I recently discovered that Android 10 beta is out but since I am on a custom ROM, I have decided that I want to revert back to stock and then use Samsung Members in order to obtain the update. From what I understood, I needed to flash a firmware that is eligible for the beta update, which is why I downloaded the latest UK firmware from SamMobile (G965FXXU7CSK1_G965FOVF7CSK1_VOD).
I would like to know how things will work before I proceed. These are the steps from my understanding:
1) Backup everything so I can format the device
2) Flash the firmware mentioned above using ODIN
3) After the installation is complete, run Samsung Members in order to obtain the update or use one of the OTA zip files floating around (for S9+ Exynos)
4) After the update is complete, flash TWRP and root using this guide
Am I missing something or is that the entire process? My phone's model number is SM-G965FZKGEGY and it is an unlocked variant of the Exynos Galaxy S9+ (dual-sim). Would my phone have to be from a specific region (CSC or w.e) or should the process above work fine? And lastly, is Spotify still broken on Android 10 or was it fixed with an update?
Thanks a lot for your time.
