I just realized today that I cannot copy anything from the facebook mobile website on my GN. I can highlight and copy on other web pages but it will not pop up to copy on the Facebook page. Is anyone else having trouble with this or know how to fix this to be able to copy on FB??? I was able to copy on my evo 3D. Phone is rooted with standard ROM. Thanks.
SORT of fixed my own problem. Discovered that if I go to browser settings and request Desktop Site, I can copy and paste from there. Obnoxious but a fix I guess.

Is anyone interested in or capable of adding copy / paste functionality in to the Vanilla 2.2 Email.apk? This should be the source code [here]; I have no clue how difficult or possible this is, but it seems like it would be a simple enough problem to fix considering ALL of the other E-mail applications I have used have it.

You can press menu->more->select text... it works, though it's not exactly elegant. There needs to be a more unified c/p base on this OS.
EDIT: Nevermind, had read Email as Gmail. Sorry .
Wish I could help but I can't. On another note, I love how the copy/paste is on the HTC email program now. It brings up a magnifier box and two "selectors" to show where and to you want to copy from. Think it does it in the default browser too but Xscope is my default. Would be cool if it was the Android default way.
Ok, so I recently posted asking about editing the internet tab on the touchflo. After a lot of searching I found the answer. So, after finding the file I attempt to edit it. Nope...it's write protected do my XML editor can't save...nor can a text editor save. So I copy it to the desktop (and stupidly didn't make a backup copy before doing all this following...) I edit it. Hooray, I think I did what I wanted. So I copy the desktop file, paste it in the manila folder on my phone...****! I didn't make a copy of the original. Well, that's gone. Hope it worked...
...it did, kinda. Well now touching the internet world icon will open skyfire like I told it (or maybe because skyfire is the default system browser, and the xml is no longer there telling it to use opera) but it brings me to the standard error 404 kind of screen. Something about it not being able to find /search//home.
Furthermore, I wanted to get rid of the standard permanent bookmarks on the internet tab. I deleted the youtube link, basically everything but facebook just to get started. Well now the internet tab only shows youtube...one of the ones I deleted. WHAT THE HELL IS MY PHONE READING FROM? Clearly it isn't reading the InternetPortal-en-US.xml
Someone please help me out. This phone is pissing me off.
Is there a way of copying text from the windows clipboard into the android phone? I have Bible notes in a windows program that I want to copy to an android program. they are made by different companies, so the easiest way to copy would be to do a verse by verse copy and paste. However, I don't see how I can use my windows machine to get into the android clipboard.
I tried using droid explorer, but couldn't figure it out. I was able to do a screencast.

Best way to do it is to copy the text on the pc into a txt file, like using notepad. Copy that to your phone, then open it using a file explorer, use that text editor, copy it on the phone, then paste it where you need it.
Yes, every will work. Not sure why I didn't think of that. I guess when you have something stuck in your head, it's sometimes hard to figure out alternatives.
To add on to what's already been said, once you save it as a .txt file and save it to your SD card you can import it into AK Notepad. I'm sure that there are other apps that allow this, but that's the app I use & I know that it works. You can also create a shortcut to the imported file on your homescreen (long-press on the note from within the app and select "pin to homescreen") or add a widget so you can access it easily.

You can also use the Google Chrome to Phone extension and program to push snippets of text from your browser to the phone. I'm finding myself using Evernote more than that lately though. Catch notes, Springpad, or any of the other notepad apps that sync would work. It's nice because it works great both ways -- I can copy something from the phone and create a note, then read it from the PC, or vice versa.
Thanks all. I will use google docs. They already have my information.

Hi Guys,
Can someone please tell me what our browser is called? I can't find info on it anywhere on the phone.
Also, I'm trying to import my saved bookmarks (internet favorites), and I can't find the folder where they're supposed to go.
Simple questions, but I've been searching all day and I can't find the answers.
Thanks!

Are you asking what the browser is named in places like the apps list? On our phones it's called "Web".
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
The browser is called "Web"
Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage Applications select "all" tab and scroll down to Web
The favorites data is stored on your internal SD at:
/data/data/com.android.browser/shared_prefs/BrowserBookmarksPage.xml
Thanks for the replies.
I know it's called web on the phone, but what is the program itself called? (Opera, etc.)
I need to find a way to import my internet favorites to the phone.
I've been all over the SD card and internal storage, and I don't see
/data/data/com.android.browser/shared_prefs/BrowserBookmarksPage.xml
Yet, my browser has the default bookmarks.
Has anyone been able to import bookmarks from a computer to the phone? If so, how?
TIA
The broswer is just the Android built in browser. the ICS browser has the ability to sync to your google account (not just the chrome app, the actual built in ICS browser).
IDK if you can with the built in browser, but if you want bookmark sync, download Firefox from the market, and sync with your computer's browser.
Saw this on another forum. I haven't tried it.
1. Export them from IE.
2. Copy them to your SD card
3. Download Bookmark Importer from the Market.
4. Use above program to import.

Thanks, but only app I could find named "bookmark importer" is here,
http://www.freewarelovers.com/android/app/bookmark-importer
and it hasn't been updated in 2 yrs. Tried it anyway, wouldn't even navigate to the SD.
Been through 5 other bookmark importers from the market, not having much luck...
Today I tried to copy and paste a tweet on my twitter app and when I pressed on the tweet nothing happened. I finally figured out how to post the tweet into my notes ap and then copy it from there. But when I went back to twitter I can't paste it into the Tweet box. Please tell me there is a way to paste copied text into facebook and twitter. If not this is going to be a major PIA!!! I like the Note 2 so far but the Iphone was great about ease of copy and paste features. Any help is appreciated.
