Is there a way of copying text from the windows clipboard into the android phone? I have Bible notes in a windows program that I want to copy to an android program. they are made by different companies, so the easiest way to copy would be to do a verse by verse copy and paste. However, I don't see how I can use my windows machine to get into the android clipboard.
I tried using droid explorer, but couldn't figure it out. I was able to do a screencast.

Best way to do it is to copy the text on the pc into a txt file, like using notepad. Copy that to your phone, then open it using a file explorer, use that text editor, copy it on the phone, then paste it where you need it.
Yes, every will work. Not sure why I didn't think of that. I guess when you have something stuck in your head, it's sometimes hard to figure out alternatives.
To add on to what's already been said, once you save it as a .txt file and save it to your SD card you can import it into AK Notepad. I'm sure that there are other apps that allow this, but that's the app I use & I know that it works. You can also create a shortcut to the imported file on your homescreen (long-press on the note from within the app and select "pin to homescreen") or add a widget so you can access it easily.

You can also use the Google Chrome to Phone extension and program to push snippets of text from your browser to the phone. I'm finding myself using Evernote more than that lately though. Catch notes, Springpad, or any of the other notepad apps that sync would work. It's nice because it works great both ways -- I can copy something from the phone and create a note, then read it from the PC, or vice versa.
Thanks all. I will use google docs. They already have my information.

Hi,
does anyone know where the copy item is stored?, when i copy the word or sentence, its says 'copy to clipboard' but i don't know where it is, or my eyes are just deceiving me! try looking in ASTRO but no luck and there no clipboard app on phone.
The clipboard is a temporary. one shot, memory storage area, exactly like the clipboard in Windows, Linux and OSX. You just copy, and paste to wherever you want it.
By default you can only access/paste the last thing you've copied. However you can install clipboard manager like Clipper to change that.

One wish for my Desire...
someone can tell me where I can find apk or something similar to add this useful tool to my Desire? It is like the iPhone...
I don't find anything in the market...
Copy/Paste is a built-in feature: select some text, e.g. in a textbox or webpage, click it and hold your finger there for a little while and then a context menu should pop up letting you copy the selection. Next, inside any textbox where you can type manually, click into it and hold your finger there to bring up another popup letting you paste your copied text.
Btw, this is the development forum. I dont think your question fits here.
I think he wants to not press and then select copy but like in the iphone just press in the text. Previous in 2.1 i managed to do this, but now on 2.2 i cant.
There's a free file manager in the Android market called AndExplorer. It's quite a good file manager. It even lets you look in the phone's folders. Copy and paste and all that jazz with this app.
I hope that's what you meant.

It's not. He meant (and said) he wants to copy/paste text, not files.
there is such function in Sence, in 2.2 too. If you want it, use 2.2 with Sence roms.
Like the title suggests... Can you move a folder or even select multiple files? Moving one file at a time is a PITA!
I can't find any threads on this topic on S Beam on here or Google.
Thanks ahead of time guys!
Are you talking about just moving folders around on your phone? Or actually trying to share an entire folder with someone? I know I could never figure out how to share an entire folder with someone but I use astro file viewer and can move folders around on my device.

what I've done in that scenario is use root explorer to make a zip of all the files, transfer via BT, then unzip and disseminate on the receiving end (also using root explorer). Not the fastest, but it works easily.
I've sent multiple things by just pressing and holding until they're checked and then do the whole sbeam thing... I've only done this with pictures though with my girlfriend's S3 and my N2...
I have the colornote app on my gs3 and regularly use this for notes. It automatically saves your notes to a backup file as a .dat file. This saves to my micro sd card; I have put these files on my Win7 pc yet nothing on my pc can open and view these files. I have tried notepad, wordpad, ms word, internet browsers, etc. When it opens in notepad it is just Chinese characters. I have tried opening the files in notepad and saving as a .doc or .txt and that doesn't work. I have scoured the internet and found no answers. I could easily copy and paste to my email, but I do not want my intellectual property out there (cautious privacy concerns). So my question is, is there any way I can view these .dat files on my pc, or any way to get my notes on my pc in a different format that will be readable? And if there is no way to do this what other note apps work well that save your notes as a doc or txt? Thanks for the input.
It's probably a data table. Try using excel. If you don't have excel, then try installing openoffice.org and open it as a spreadsheet.

Guys,
Here's a problem that has me confused ~ With the exception of Evernote, no matter what Notes app I use if I open a large document file and select all the typed content then copy to the Clip-Tray, if I then go to any other notes app and select paste, only the top half of the notes in the doc file get pasted.
However, if I do the same in Evernote, all the docs notes get copied across!
It would appear this problem is isolated to my G3 because if I try and do the exact same on a different phone, the entire doc and all it's notes gets copied and pasted across.
Any ideas why there is this limitation?
P.S. I can't use Evernote because this particular doc has a lot of passwords. As such I need to use a secure notes app (which I have 'msecure' and have tried the same with others).
Further confusing ~ Even with only half the typed notes copied and pasted, if I then try to edit and type in the missing notes, although the keyboard pops up and I can type, however nothing gets added to the file.
Basically you can happily type as much as you want but nothing is added on screen or in the doc file.
Thanks in advance.
Anyone........ Any ideas?
It's driving me nuts.
I tried installing another notes app and same thing happens, I load a notes file into it but I can't add any more text to the file.
So no one has any ideas or thoughts on the subject?
