Is there any ICS messaging app directly ported for gingerbread roms?
There is already one application in play store (ICS messaging) but it has bugs and there is no development for past 2 months!

Post in the General or FAQ babe! And to answer your q, there isn't. Gotta stick to ICS Messaging with the annoying ad bar that stays blank even when ads are removed.
Sorry guys! i posted it in General section!

Post in the Themes and Apps forum and you'll get your answers much better than posting in the development forum.
Will do.

Hi guys! I've had an Evo for a while and I was just wondering whether anyone would be interested in a senseless ROM. I run it on my own phone but I have never shared it. Just leave me some feedback please!
Not trying to burst bubbles or anything, but there are already some senseless roms here. Share if ya want, though. Thanks. Good luck.

Hook it up
running MikG v.3.11/ ICS themed with the badass Underworld kernel.
Probably 75% of the people in this forum are running AOSP instead of Sense.
I prefer senseless over aosp. What is the base?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA
The base is Stock Swag and it includes the stock gingerbread launcher with SMS instead of browser. I could make an Xperia version including the Sony Sound tweaks and launcher.
throw it up on the wire and let's see it. we can always use more choice.

As long as you can invert the pull down menu to black with 15% transparency I'm game. I use adw so launcher doesn't matter cause it will be removed

Actually this has already been released, check it out here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1586396
It runs VERY smooth and battery life is amazing, skype should work as it's a stock rom.

I know people probably ask this 1000 times a day but:
I recently got a ICS ROM on my phone and can't find and decent apps Googling things like "Top ICS apps" all the results seem to me targeted at new users. I am looking for the must have apps for advanced people running custom ROMs and writing their own apps.
apex launcher. that's all i can think of that's ics exclusive that i use.

Would those of you who use apex launcher try nova launcher. I tried it and while apex launcher is nice real nice, I cant stand the lag when I open the app drawer.

I have ZERO lag on apex when opening the app drawer (and no Apex is not a system app on my phone) but I will give Nova a try regardless.
I also second Chrome and Apex/Nova Launcher as the must haves so far. Honestly most good apps for ICS are going to be available for older android OS's as well just because of the huge installed user base that exists for froyo/gingerbread. Only 3% of all android devices are currently running ICS

Wow, I find it quite funny that you openly admit that there is likely 1000 other threads C covering this issue but you posted anyways.
The reason there are not many results on Google (which I find hard to believe) I'd because ova has not been out long enough with high enough market penetration for useful ics only applications to be created.

So besides the fact that you cant open a singal thread on xda anymore without getting atleast one flaming comment(which is sad)
Since ics been out for about 7 months devs have made some exclusive 4.0 apps
So back on topic i found i like
Apex launcher(no lag) exclusive to 4.0
Chrome browser exclusive to 4.0
Boid Twitter again exclusive
Notes for ics syncs with google tasks
Good luck on your search

I have moved on from the G2 to the One S but I still check these forums regularly as I came up with alot of you since the days of the G1 and Jesusfreak and thought I would share for those who don't make it out of this section.
The link below is for the Jelly Bean System apps dumped from the Nexus.
Any information needed can be found in that thread and I do not provide support as I am just a messenger.
I have been able to get the apps I wanted installed either through standard .apk install or by pushing to system/apps and changing permissions.
Enjoy

Usually both appearance and features. For example in EliteMod ICS he already upgraded the Google Play music app to the Jelly Bean version which has a bit of different user interface and a few other things.
Hi,
I have a SGS2 - T989 and i am trying to look for an ice cream sandwich MIUI Rom. Everywhere I go i find Jelly Bean based ones, which I don't want because they're unstable!
If anyone of y'all could could help me, please do so!

Yeah, as a matter of fact I have looked over that thread and the third line like 100 times, but guess what? When you actually try clicking on the link in the third line, it only gives you the option to download the Jellybean Based ROM, which I have clearly stated that I don't want.

In goo manager look under all files/devs/miui/hercules. The ones beginning with "4.1" are JB. The ones beginning with "4_" are ICS.

It's stability is impressive. With MIUI .... I honestly am not concerned about Jellybean builds as I truly enjoy the MIUI interface. However, the only problem I have with it is that the person on the other side can't hear me rather clearly. After flashing a custom I727 compatible kernel as mentioned in the ICS thread in the Development section, now the Camera doesn't work. Anyone still using this remarkable ROM?
I love when someone has a question that is the same as mine, but it's not answered! is there a working miui rom that the calls don't sound like crap? Miui is my favorite rom but I need people to understand me when I'm talking to them over the phone

Yes!!! Use the ICS BUILD as I mentioned and you should be good to go. The problem is with the Kernel if you're doing that. In my experience, you flash a I727 kernel and voice quality will work (but at the cost of camera). Go over to the Android Dev thread and scroll through the last few pages. You should be able to find the link there!
