I recently flashed the new Cyanogen mod 7 nightly and The new google apps. As I started to experiment with this rom, I noticed that i cannot download any market apps at all. Whenever i press download, the "downloading" notification would pop up for like a second or two and it would then disappear. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Did you try to clear data and cache for the market? That might help. It does not seem like a CM7 issue as it is working perfectly here.
Yeah I have tried that actually. Still the same problem..
Wipe all the data including both caches, flash the build and then flash the apps. Things are working fine with the CM7 builds since I use it. Maybe a radio update if your not up to date ish?
Same Issue
I'm having the same issue on my HD2 Typhoon Cyanogen 7. I was able to download apps from the market for about an hour, right after first launch - now (3 hours later), nothing. I don't have the ability to click 'clear cache' for the Market and I can't seem to download from the online market, either. I don't know whether I should try to clean-install Typhoon or switch to another ROM - or if this problem will just 'go away'. If anyone has further advice, or wants any info from my device, please send me a message.
Update: ROM Manager won't do anything, but I'm not too worried about that. Booting while holding 'Power' gets me to the Bootloader, from there I can get to the Clockwork Recovery. I tried 2 fresh wipes of Typhoon CM7 before throwing in the towel. Another ROM installed and I can download anything I want from the Market.
Ditto here. I installed on a full wipe and market is not working. Are you using wifi or 3g?

I have the same problem, i tried to solve it doing everything (uninstalling and reinstalling market, full wipe, re-flash the rom) but nothing.
I noticed that every time i re-flash the rom market works for a period but than gets stuck !
- download "zipsigner" from market
- select the new market apk (the one that didn't install and fc's)
- select "platform" as key/mode
- sign the file
the resulting apk can be installed as every apk
cc to c3k

I have your same problem on DHD CyanogenMod 7 RC2 (uninstalling and reinstalling market, full wipe, re-flash the rom) but the Market don't work!
I got the same problem and solved it by simply wiping my device (Desire) again without flashing CM7 (RC1) again.

could you be more specific on 'wiping'? how did you do it? having the same problem here.
EDIT: reflashed rom and wiped data and cache. market is now working.
EDIT AGAIN: market only worked to download GAPPS eg gmail, youtube, google maps etc etc. when tried to download other apps, a prompt comes up saying "the process android.process.media has stopped unexpectedly. please try again."
Hi,
Had the same problem, with cyanogen Mod 7.
First with stock (cyanogen) Market, then even after updating with the new market 2.3.4. Always the same, trying to connect and failure when downloading, no FC at all.
I just solved the problem by flashing again the radio 5.14.05.17 ! (I had this one before flashing Cyanogen and all the other communications were ok, except the market downloads so I didn't think it could come from there ...)
Hope it helps you
I simply solved this problem thanks Titanium Backup that takes back the Market (app+data). Obviusly you had had a backup!
EDIT: doesn't work...after reboot market doesn't exist... I've to rebuild it from TB every time.. that sucks
RE-EDIT: finally works!! I installed it from a backup and then I started it after flashing again gapps(if you don't have a backup you can unzip gapps.zip on pc then move the apk vending to the phone: install it with a file explorer) Then I entered my gmail username and psw(<--- important step) and now it works great! I've made also a reboot to test it.
Solved Problem
After flashing gapps, i had the same problem....
Try a restart - It worked for me!
Yeah, I have the same problem with my freshly installed, latest stable CM (7.0.3-desire). Not all downloads are affected, it's about a third to half of them. If I get the apk file in some other way, installing it works fine. It's just the download from the market server that stops after a second or so (or perhaps never even starts properly).
I've tried to clear market cache, tried rebooting, tried versions 2.3.3 and 2.3.6 of Market app, to no avail.
When you guys say "flash this" or "flash that", does that mean "update"?

i've manage to fix it.
first i backed up my SD card, partition it with ROM Manager, downloaded S2E from the market, check Download Cache, reboot. done. anything and everything can be downloaded now.
I managed to fix with re-flashing CM 7.03 and wiping data. For a couple of days it worked properly. Now from time to time it happens again and the only solution is restarting the phone. Probably I found a similar problem when I tried to install Cut the rope apk from my sd card, CM just did a warm boot. After a several try I restarted my phone and installation worked like a charm. Any thoughts?
what do you mean by using the term "flashing" ?
I am a noob and I am having the same problem too.

There is a solution on the Cyanogenmod Forums.
After having done a factory reset, installing my apps. via the Android Market website no longer works. It show's my device on the list and tells me it will install shortly on my phone, but nothing happens. I am logged in on market on the phone.
I have a Desire HD running 2.3.
try clearing all market data/cache or do another factory reset?
If that doesnt work, try logging in with another google account, or installing a new market
It happened to me once, but the only thing that fixed it was flashing a new rom.

Here's what I tried:
- Clearing cache didn't work.
- Tried creating new gmail account, added it in Sync-settings and wen't to market on phone. Clicked "Menu" and choose the new account for the market. Went to market-website, but it simply says "No devices assosiated with this account..." Why can't it find my device?
- Tried using old market with old account (since it's the only that can detect my device), no go.
I can see if I go to Market>Programs (the list of the ones I've installed), at the bottom it shows the Apps. I tried to install via market-website. They're not installed, and I can only go in manually and press "Install". So, it adds them to the Programs-list, but doesn't install them.
What do?
Sometimes I can't install too, the other time I just can... kinda strange

It has worked perfectly, until I did a factory reset. Now it simply never works.
Managed to fix it!
Apparently "Google Talk" was stuck, somehow - I rebooted the phone, opened "Talk" and it signed in successfully (got error: cannot connect to servers, before I rebooted), suddenly all the programs I've tried installing via market-website, started installing and I was spammed with facebook notifications.
I had never considered the app. "Talk" as I never knew it was associated notifications, connection between market-website and such. Oh well, good stuff it works now.
Hey all,
My note 2 is locking up after I install or update an app in the play store, then restarts. The app update goes through successfully, but then locks up afterwards regardless of what I do next. This happens on both Wifi and HSPA.
My phone is rooted with the stock ROM.
Some apps were backed up and restored via Titanium Backup. I believe it has to do with these apps. Some apps' data was on the SD card. I uninstalled those apps, but it hasn't helped. The crash happens regardless of the app I update or install, whether or not it was restored via Titanium, downloaded for the first time from the market, or an app that came stock on the phone.
I tried clearing dalvik cache, but that hasn't helped. I tried pulling logs via logcat, but I can't find anything useful.
Any suggestions before I start uninstalling those apps one by one?
Thanks!
Here are three log cats from the time of crash.
File 1044pm: Updated an app via WiFi, then opened another app; it froze up on the Loading screen and restarted after about 1 minute.
File 1108pm: Updated an app via Wifi, then pulled down the notifications bar; it got stuck about 90% of the way down and locked up and restarted after about 1 minute. (System starts killing processes around line 32178)
File 1140pm: Updated an app via HSPA, then did nothing; phone restarted after about 90 seconds.
(System starts killing processes around line 28248)
If anyone has enough knowledge to tell me what might have happened, I would be very grateful!

I can no longer download apps from the google play store. I press download, it says "Downloading...", the loading bar has small lines going across it, but progress never starts, and it sits there like this. Does anyone know how to fix this? I am running Tiny CM10.1.
My problems with the play store were solved when I wiped and reinstalled from scratch. This a sudden thing, or have you made any changes lately?
Others have also reported success by going in to Apps Management and choosing "Clear Data" for the Google Play Store. (There's also a Google Play Services in the list...not sure if it's necessary to clear that, too.)
I have had this problem somewhat recurringly on this rom, it didn't work for a while, then I cleared play store, download manager, basically anything with Google in the name. Other times this fixed it, but this time it wouldn't work even after a restart. I ended up getting it to work by rebooting to recovery, wiping cache, and restarting.

I Just had the same problem. Here is how I fixed it,
- Uninstalled updates for Google Play
- I added a New Google Account.
- I Then signed into the new Google Account, Then Sign Into Your Main Account
And "BOOM" problem solved.
I never had this problem until recently and it's happened several times now. It seems to happen after a major change to my system ie rom update or multiple app updates or Tibu restore I not really sure. I tried several methods of un-installing & re-installing the play store app and wiping it's cache and data with varying degrees of success.
What has worked every time without fail is a complete cache wipe with "CacheMate for root users" app.

My fiancee has a fire phone, and she's had it for a few years. For the most of it, she's been using CM11 as her custom ROM. A few weeks ago, she mysteriously got it, and it wouldn't go away except when she disabled contact storage, but then she couldn't make phone calls. She then removed the dialer and it caused even more problems. I had to fully wipe her phone and re-flash back to Fire OS to get her dialer back. I then put CM11 back in, and everything was fine for awhile. Four days later, when Facebook updated, it did it again. We deleted Facebook, deleted the cache from contact storage, all that crap shown on Youtube, and still nothing. She opens up Chrome, it would pop up "process.acore has stopped", same with PlayStore. I wiped her phone again, then flashed her phone over to SlimKat, wiped dalvik cache, system, data, etc. It worked fine for a few days, then she opened up Cortana, and it's doing it again.
What apps have you disabled or uninstalled and/or installed since last wipe? Did you set it as a new phone after tou reinstalled cm11 or slimkat?
Try safeboot by clicking power button, then click reboot. Hold both volume up and down button while it fully reboots. You will see safeboot logo on screen. See if you get same error in safeboot. If not, then a change you are doing after fresh install is messing up your phone. Do a fresh install, then restore/install/uninstall one app at a time to see which app is responsible.
Every time I factory reset the phone, it's fine for awhile until some random app causes it again. The cause is different every time. At first, Facebook was the cause, then adding another Gmail account, then Reddit. We'll try your advice then get back to you.
If it is fine for a while, it is probably being triggered by some system app such as Google play services updating itself. I would suggest disable auto updates in play store and disable Amazon store if you haven't already. When phone prompts you that app updates are available, update one app at a time, (if have titanium backup and rooted, can backup the app before you update it). Once you find the culprit, open it in play store and disable auto update by un-checking the option by clicking three dots on top right. I had to do that for google play services because it was causing similar issues. Your issue may be related to contacts as well as calendar (clear calendar data but do not disable default calendar app from amazon)or one of the related background processes that is automatically updated but the updated version becomes incompatible with kit Kat causing all apps that depend on it to force close.
Check if your Google play services is newer than 10.0.84 version at the time acore error starts happening. If it is newer version then go to apk mirror website and download 10.0.84 version, uninstall the newer one and install this older one. Please do update if anything you did fixed the problem. Thanks.
